And It’s Over, Over There

Almost one in 10 babies and toddlers in England and Wales are Muslim, according to new analysis of census figures published Friday, illustrating the growth of the minority community.

Some 317,952 children aged under five, or 9.1 percent, were registered as being Muslim in the 2011 census, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures show.

As a measure of how the religious demographics of England and Wales are changing, the figure is nearly double the 4.8 percent of the whole population who are Muslim, while fewer than one in 200 people aged over 85 are Muslim.

It is also an 80 percent increase on the 176,264 Muslim under-fives recorded in the 2001 census.

“It certainly is a startling figure,” David Coleman, professor of demography at Oxford University, told The Times newspaper on Friday.

“Continuing immigration from Pakistan, Bangladesh and India has been added to by new immigration from African countries and from the Middle East.

“Birth rates of Muslims of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin remain quite high, although falling. There seem to be very low levels of falling away from religion among Muslims.”

Muslims have the youngest age profile of the main religious groups. Nearly half of Muslims (48 percent) were aged under 25 (1.3 million).

it’s the day after christmas and all thru the house

Not exactly what folks need here.  Been reading about the unfortunates who are without a home today and people without power. It’s cold, well doh, it is December.  There was some power outage in this area but nothing that touched us in this location.  So very thankful so far.  Winds are a worry of course.  So far today, bright and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. On the cold side but not uncomfortable.

I hope nobody comes along and blames it all on Bush.

Britain is bracing itself for more stormy weather, with forecasters warning of 90mph winds and blustery showers.

Wind and rain may cause travel disruption tomorrow which could leave commuters struggling to get back to work after the Christmas break.

The Met Office has issued yellow and amber weather warnings, indicating ‘severe or hazardous weather’ with potential to ‘cause danger to life or widespread disruption’.

The worst-affected areas are expected to be northern England and northern parts of Wales.

John Griffiths, a forecaster for MeteoGroup UK, said: ‘There will be some very, very strong winds and blustery showers in places tomorrow.

‘The winds will start to pick up this afternoon and evening. Tomorrow around 6am, there will be some strong gusts of wind going up to 90mph.’

The severe weather forecast has also prompted new warnings for homeowners to prepare for more festive flooding as rain washes over saturated ground and into swollen rivers.

Kent and Sussex are expected to be among the worst hit.

Thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes or spend Christmas without any power after storms battered the south earlier this week.

UK Power Networks said that the East of England is now virtually back to normal apart from a few isolated pockets of customers.

The company this morning said customers in the following regions were still without power: Kent, 4,869; Surrey 1,672; and Sussex, 1,639

Engineers are still desperately trying to reconnect the homes, which may be left without electricity until the weekend.

We are in the South .... should miss the 90mph mentioned, but after the past week, I worry about any wind with those trees left standing in the back.

is this the brit version of ford to ny, drop dead? seems that way.

Alright so they aren’t far left which we could not expect anyway.  But even the fraction left this group is says something.
Not that it will change anything.

We are days away from a new year.  Every year all of us no matter where we are, always hope the year we enter will be an improvement on the one just ended.
Were that it were so. I have doubts and even fears that the change coming will not be for the better overall.

As of one January, Britain’s borders will be open even further to many undesirables.
Like the Bulgarian burglar with a 15 year criminal record and a violent one at that, who broke into a home here after being in the UK only 9 days.  He’s also a drug dealer.  I don’t believe what the left keeps insisting on, which is that immigration benefits a country and these folks contribute to the public good.  Anyone who does not believe that is bigoted and a swine and any other epitaph the left can dream up about those who question immigration on the scale seen in this country over the years.

Oh … and btw.  If I can find it again I’ll post the whole story but meanwhile.
A ‘student’ with the co-operation of a mother (muslims in case you wonder) had her mentally retarded 37 year old daughter with the ability of a 7 year old, married to and impregnated by that student so that he could remain in the UK under the human right to a family. The woman’s family was paid btw. Sure thing.  Lets all cheer for more of the same, cos I predict that’s exactly what this country is gonna get.

Romanian and Bulgarian migrants coming to Britain in the New Year could put huge pressure on housing, schools and hospitals, a major report warns today.

The study by the centre-left Institute for Public Policy Research says most of the new arrivals will settle in London and the South East – meaning public services in these areas will be most affected.

It warns that Britain could see an increase in anti-social behaviour, aggressive begging, rough sleeping and criminality from next week.

And it says David Cameron’s much heralded changes to benefits rules are ‘largely symbolic’ and will make little or no difference.

The report will ratchet up the pressure on ministers ahead of January 1, when the remaining controls on working rights for nationals of the two countries will expire.

Mr Cameron has resisted calls to face down the EU and extend the controls, despite opinion polls showing huge public support for such a move.

ordered to take ‘diversity training’ all because she saw it another way. pc sucks!

Here we are again with the gollywog thing, but yet another outrageous bit of political correctness. 

When things get to this point, can anyone, anywhere still believe this place has a future?

Say you disagree with a pc position, and get yourself ordered to take diversity training.

Diversity .... it used to be known as integration.  Well actually, Forced integration.  But I guess diversity sounds so soft and so reasonable.

Well it isn’t either.  Here’s a case of a woman who says something is not racist and acts on that belief as a city councillor, and because a few ppl with a personal interest due to them being from minorities and so they get to say what is and isn’t racist, she has to take training. What total stupidity. What BS!

What’s up next?  How about anyone who denies gorebal warming being ordered to take some silly arsed course in tree hugging.  If that ever does come to pass, it will most likely establish its roots here in the UK.

A Conservative councillor is to undergo diversity training after offending ethnic minorities with her claim that golliwogs are ‘nostalgic, not racist’.

Cllr Dawn Barnett was found guilty of bringing Brighton and Hove City Council into disrepute with her remarks.

In August, Cllr Barnett said she thought golliwogs were ‘nostalgic, not racist’.

And she dismissed complaints against a city homestore selling golliwog placemats as ‘political correctness gone too far’.

However, a panel of three fellow councillors cleared the 72-year-old of failing to treat others with respect and breaching the Equalities Act.

The board - sitting in a closed hearing on Thursday - also recommended that all councillors should undergo diversity training in the future.

Her comments provoked four ‘separate but similar’ complaints from three people and the council’s Black and Minority Ethnic Workers’ Forum.

One complainant asked for an apology from Cllr Barnett while another said they wished to see her expelled from the council.

Speaking after the meeting, Cllr Barnett said the issue should never have progressed to a hearing and was a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Yesterday’s hearing - lasting more than five-and-a-half hours - was also attended by a number of senior council staff.

They included a monitoring officer, head of complaints, and head of democratic services.

A council report on the proceedings will not be made available to the public until early next week.

Cllr Barnett, of the Hangleton and Knoll ward, said: ‘They threw out the two most serious charges but said I was guilty of breaching the code of conduct.

‘I am pleased they have let me off on the other two serious charges but very disappointed they have judged I broke the code of conduct.

‘I don’t think it should have got this far, it was a waste of taxpayers’ money and officers’ time.

‘I apologised to anyone who was upset by my comments and that should have been the end of it.

‘I understand the reasons why they had it behind closed doors but there were a lot of upset people outside the meeting that were angry it wasn’t held in public.’

A Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman said the incident highlighted the ‘need for training and awareness raising among all councillors on equalities issues’.

This will form part of member development in the future, she added.

One Small Hope For The UK

What the hell, there were only 40 witnesses who caught the whole thing on video, plus the two blood covered ground apes gave a big on camera interview. Pretty small chance of this being a human rights violation or a ASBO. Well, you’d hope and pray so, at any rate.

Two British-born, al-Qaida-inspired extremists who considered themselves “soldiers of Allah” were convicted Thursday of murdering an off-duty serviceman who was run down with a car and stabbed to death in a frenzied attack on a London street.

The jury of eight women and four men deliberated for just 90 minutes before finding Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale guilty of murdering Fusilier Lee Rigby. They were acquitted of attempting to murder a police officer.

The two men will be sentenced early next year.

Neither defendant reacted as the jury foreman announced the verdicts. Adebolajo, at 29 the elder of the two, smiled and kissed a copy of the Quran as he was led down to the cells.

Adebolajo and 22-year-old Adebowale had pleaded not guilty to murder, though neither denied taking part in the May 22 attack.

The 25-year-old Rigby, a member of the Royal Fusiliers who had served in Afghanistan, was returning on foot to his barracks in south London when he was hit by the car being driven by Adebolajo. As the soldier lay on the ground, Adebowale repeatedly stabbed him and Adebolajo attempted to cut off his head.

One witness described the attack, which took place on a busy street near a primary school, as looking “like a butcher attacking a joint of meat.”

Adebolajo was filmed by a passer-by moments later, covered in blood and holding a cleaver and a knife, justifying the attack “because Muslims are dying daily by British soldiers.”

Dip them in pig’s blood and hang them to within an inch of their lives. Then set the gibbet on fire while spraying a mix of strong acid and gasoline on it. Target practice, 4 shots to the £ to any passers-by, as they jounce about.

The Unite union is offering to teach unemployed Romanians and Bulgarians how to claim benefits in Britain.

The organisation, Labour’s biggest donor, is courting foreigners from the two countries as part of a membership drive.

It offers the advice as a reward for signing up to the union.

It has even issued membership forms in Romanian and Bulgarian, despite the Government – and Labour – saying immigrants should learn English.

The unemployed are offered the chance to join the union for just 50p a week. In return, Unite says it will offer new arrivals with advice on how to maximise benefit claims.

The decision to target Romanians and Bulgarians is sure to be controversial, given public concern about the lifting of immigration controls on the two new EU countries at the end of this month.

Ministers have refused to estimate how many immigrants will arrive from the two impoverished countries – but some experts believe it could run to hundreds of thousands in the coming years.

Tory MP Priti Patel called Unite’s behaviour shameless, adding: ‘It is incredibly irresponsible and I’m afraid it just sums up the attitude of Labour and the trade unions towards EU immigration.

‘Labour is the party that opened the floodgates to EU immigration with its open borders policy.

Am I guilty of a race or hate crime by, pointing out that, this fellow is a traveller?

I wasn’t going to boot today to be honest.  Must be catching cos I really don’t feel up to much.
I always think older folks who make the claim that they would never go back to their teens and are so happy to be old, are telling a fib.
When I feel this crappy I wish I were 40 again. I’d even settle for 50.  Of course I wish that anyway, even when I feel very well.
However ... I could not ignore this article and felt the need to share it.

Apparently two rival traveller gangs are at war.  I think the police should let em at each other.

So here’s the story.

An arsonist burned his own head when his ‘Russian-style’ hat set alight as he tried to torch a rival drug dealer’s car.

Things then got worse for Karl McGarry, 25, when he also managed to set fire to his getaway vehicle.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that McGarry had become embroiled in a 20-year feud between two traveller families in St Helens, Liverpool.

A member of the Price family ordered him to firebomb two cars but when he leaned through one of their windows, his furry hat ignited.

Unaware that the headpiece was on fire, he got into his getaway car, setting that alight as well.

McGarry, who worked as a ‘full time drug dealer’ in St Helens, Merseyside, was later recorded on a police bugging device, complaining about setting his Russian hat on fire.

Another voice could be heard laughing: ‘That was when you had that big mark on your head, weren’t it?’

Liverpool Crown Court heard the Price family was trying to control the supply of class A drugs in the town and had previously been known to petrol bomb and fire shotguns at the Maughans.

Eight of their gang were jailed for a total of 97 years last week for drug, firearm and arson conspiracies.

Wouldn’t you love to see what would happen to a group like this, were the scene the USA instead of the UK.
Might be interesting.  But it isn’t. Yet.  Give em time though and they’ll get around to us, as soon as they finish the front they’re fighting on now.

Dozens of Muslim protestors gathered to demand that businesses stop selling alcohol in a popular East London area yesterday.

The group, led by former Al-Muhajiroun leader Anjem Choudary, warned restaurants and shops in the Brick Lane area that they face 40 lashes if they continue to sell the product, which is banned under Sharia Law.

Around 60 men and women in burkhas handed over warning letters to Muslim-owned businesses in the area after the protest was initially delayed by a small number of English Defence League members staging a counter-protest.

if this is civilized then I want no part of civilization … what a farce

Well heck. Isn’t it nice that the authorities must allow this evil and calculation duo to communicate and live (almost) as if everything is sort of okay. That is, they still have freedom of sorts. Not the kind of freedom we would look forward to but, I don’t understand any system that can allow ppl like this to continue breathing.  So okay, if the DP is out of the question, and it is for the foreseeable future, why oh why must prison authorities put in place things that make their miserable lives easier?  No different in the states either.
It’s as Wardmama says in one of her comments on another posted subject.

Reality really and truly eludes these people and it scares me to death that they are in charge of so many aspects of the lives of others.

Who but the hand wringing left could put anything like this in place? For example, I have just read about a fellow with a record of multiple violent rapes in prison on a life sentence. BUT .... he was allowed out on day release. Any guesses at what he did while out?

The Sun reports that friends of Williams said he knew Shuttleworth had ‘always been the one for him’ since they met as youngsters in children’s homes.

Williams was ordered to serve a minimum of 29 years of a life sentence for the ‘chilling, casual and calculated’ killings of Yvonne Walsh and her son Harrison.

Described by a judge yesterday as ‘clearly evil’, Williams posted a message on the social networking site after he carried out the double murder saying: ‘Sometimes we just have to do things we shouldn’t.’

He also wrote ‘I am sorry it had to come to this’ on his victim’s Facebook page, and changed his relationship status to ‘single’.

Mr Justice MacDuff branded the 29-year-old as a man ‘dangerous beyond measure’ who had ‘executed’ a defenceless infant and his mother. He then ordered guards to ‘take this evil man down’.

Prosecutors said the pair’s relationship crumbled after 25-year- old Miss Walsh spurned Williams’s proposal of marriage.

He had been released from prison on licence four months before the murders after serving a five-year term for attacking his sister’s ex-partner with a hammer. But the licence had expired by the time he killed the mother and son.

Williams pleaded guilty last week at Birmingham Crown Court to murdering the pair.

After his sentencing yesterday, reporting restrictions barring any mention of his link with his former girlfriend who murdered her two-year-old son were lifted.

Rebecca Shuttleworth, 25, was jailed for life in June at the same court after battering to death her son Keanu Williams, under the noses of Birmingham social workers.

I haven’t a clue but might guess, what the Mandela machine is like in the USA at the moment.

Over here, you’d think it was akin to the 2nd coming.  I do believe there are some libs that are waiting for him to rise. Every damn time I tuen on the radio and the papers are still banging on and it is soooooo tiring.

I think there’s lots of folks and mostly white, who could care less but .... think they should and so they too have jumped on the bandwagon.
Lots of different reason for lots of different folks.
So with that said .... here’s my favorite columnist who I don’t think is ever wrong. And he is right on target with this subject, and in few words too.

Production of Porta-shrines was stepped up at the weekend as people rushed to make the death of Nelson Mandela all about themselves. In Glasgow, they even had a candlelit vigil, complete with teddy bears and flowers.

The BBC went berserk, clearing the schedules. If they’d approached the death of Mandela in the same way they handled Mrs Thatcher’s funeral, they would have invited on a few white supremacists in the interests of ‘balance’.

In Rugeley, Staffs, the Keystroke Kops arrested a sandwich shop owner who cracked a couple of tasteless Mandela jokes on the internet. Neil Phillips was questioned for eight hours, fingerprinted and had his DNA swabbed. Police also took away his computer.

What was utterly predictable was that football would have to get in on the act, too. It was Pray 4 Muamba time all over again.

At grounds around the country, there was a compulsory minute’s applause, largely because they can’t rely on football fans to stay silent for 60 seconds.

We were treated to the ridiculous sight of mascots — grown men dressed as giant cuddly toys, in XXXL football shirts — clapping away merrily in staged tribute to the great man. It’s what he would have wanted.

And btw .... what does the following tell you about immigration and the inability to deport those who overstay or don’t belong to begin with.

Plans to celebrate Christmas by holding a Moroccan street market, complete with camels, in Stoke-on-Trent have been cancelled. Immigration officials refused to issue visas to 40 Moroccan ‘artisans’ invited to take part, fearing they wouldn’t go home again.

Try to imagine the council meeting which decided the best way to celebrate Christmas in Staffordshire would be to hold a Moroccan festival.

Earlier this year, the writer A.N.  Wilson revisited Stoke, his home town, and claimed it had been transformed beyond recognition by mass immigration. If a few dozen Moroccans had disappeared, would anyone have noticed?

murder? not guilty. why? because i’m a soldier of pisslam so killing isn’t murder. trial continues

So I sat down to breakfast this morning, a nice steaming coffee in front of me, passed over the pages of yet more (and more and more) coverage of Saint Mandela and landed on page 5 or perhaps it was six.
btw, one somewhat conservative paper said under a large headline declared that Mandela was a colossus. Well, if he wasn’t the media have sure made him one.

So anyway there I am with a page open to the trial of these miserable no account black sombitches who quite literally and in broad daylight, butchered a Brit soldier on a street after first running him down with their vehicle.  Poor guy didn’t stand a chance, I saw the video where he’s walking across a street and the car turns in behind him and knocks him down.

Why are these niggers worthy of a trial?  Isn’t a trial supposed to be where guilt or innocence is determined?  One of the scum is pleading not guilty, this in spite of the fact that there he is in full view, it was even posted here at bmews at the time, with bloody hands and clever. He’s even explaining to the person shooting the video why it is that the deed was done and that he was a soldier of pisslam.  Which of course is why it was not murder and so the innocent plea.  And the system goes along with the expense and anguish to the family of the fallen soldier. 

It has been further reported that the two were trying to cut out body parts.
But in spite of it all they get a trial. And that isn’t all.

They also get to be referred to as .... Mister.  WTF?

The man accused of killing and trying to behead Fusilier Lee Rigby declared his love for al-Qa’ida in court on Monday and claimed he was a soldier for Allah in an ongoing war against the British military.

Seated just yards from the family of his victim, Michael Adebolajo, 28, told the Old Bailey that he had no regrets about launching the attack on the defenceless soldier as he crossed the road near his barracks in Woolwich, south-east London. “I will never regret obeying the command of Allah so that’s all I can say,” he told a packed courtroom. “I’m a mujahid, I’m a soldier: I do what Allah commands me to do. I can’t do anything else.”

Mr Adebolajo, who denies murder, claimed that at the end of his trial he should be killed, freed or ransomed back to Islamist fighters in Afghanistan or Iraq. During his evidence that ranged through his Christian upbringing, his teenage conversion to Islam and his radicalisation into a jihadist fighter, Mr Adebolajo claimed he would have been cast “into hellfire” if he had refused to fight because he “loved my wife and children”, the court heard.

“I’m a soldier and this is war,” said Mr Adebolajo, who is married with six children. His last son was born four days before the attack. “I’m a soldier of Allah and I understand that some people might not recognise this because we don’t wear fatigues and we don’t go to the Brecon Beacons to train and this sort of thing but we are still soldiers in the sight of Allah.

“To me, this is all that matters. Basically it is a war between Islam and those militaries that invade Muslim lands. One of them just happens to be the British military and therefore the war continues even to this day.”

And so, like all brave and good soldiers who have faced death more than once in battle, these vermin ram a car into the enemy, from behind him, disable him entirely and then proceed to butcher him. In full view of the public.  But it’s okay cos they are ... ‘soldiers’.  They soil the word while a genuine soldier has been found guilty of murder for deleting a wounded taliban terrorist who also wore no uniform.  He got life and must serve a minimum of ten years, and the Brit public is outraged. Except of course the libtards who continue to preach tolerance and respect for life blah,blah.

With five prison officers sitting close to him around the dock, Mr Adebolajo told the court that he prayed to Allah the night before the attack to ensure that he and his co-defendant, Michael Adebowale, 22, targeted a soldier rather than a civilian. He claimed that the original plan had not been to run him down, but “Allah caused” the 25-year-old to cross the road in front of them.

Mr Adebolajo claimed he saw the soldier moving before he attacked him with a meat cleaver, prompting Fusilier Rigby’s widow to leave the court in tears. Mr Adebolajo said he tried, but failed, to cut off his head with another knife sharpened at his home before the attack. During comments directed towards the Rigby family, Mr Adebolajo accepted that he killed somebody that they loved. “I just hope that soldier’s life and his death might prevent the deaths of other soldiers who are being sent to die in unjust wars and save the lives of Muslims who are being bombed and killed by British forces,” he said.

He told the court that he was raised as a Christian by his family and during his childhood in Romford, east London, most of his friends were white, including one who became a soldier and died during the Iraq war.

He said he converted to Islam during his first year at Greenwich University and had attended a number of demonstrations organised by the banned Islamist group al-Muhajiroun. Mr Adebolajo was jailed for 51 days after one protest following his conviction for two counts of assaulting a police officer in 2006.

Mr Adebolajo and Mr Adebowale both deny murder and attempted murder of a police officer. The case continues.

A pregnant woman has had her baby forcibly removed by caesarean section by social workers

Over some years there has been a lot of publicity with regard to the abuse of children, and the lack of attention by social services.
Oddly, at the very same time, there has been much publicity over social services acting like police and forcibly removing babies from homes where, while no direct proof shown, the fear was that it might be possible that the child ‘might’ be in future danger.

After the very brutal death of Baby P (Google that sad story), critics of the social service were out in numbers calling for arrests and sanctions and sackings, in fact the head of the service was sacked.  So anyway, especially after the case of Baby P and a couple of others, it has seemed as if the service has gone over the top in reaction to the critics and the non stop stories in the media both press and electronic.

Which brings us to this story.

I’ve never heard of this happening before, which does not mean it hasn’t happened. If it did I wasn’t aware of it.  But I do find it pretty shocking that it could be done as it has here in this article.
I almost always have the feeling something is being left out on stories like this one.  Perhaps the service believed that something might happen to the mother if she gave birth naturally.  But it really seems a stretch to take away a baby and give it away even before they know if the mother’s mental condition is temporary or there’s something else afoot. Wow. 

I have posted the entire article here.  The article comes from The Sunday Telegraph. There are lots of things that may get my goat and see the old RCOB, but not much shocks me anymore. But this sure does.  The judge says there could be a risk of relapse, but doesn’t say how great that risk is. I suppose with the home and child’s environment to think about, any risk is seen as too great.  So why is it that so many felons are out walking the streets after short prison terms but the environment the law abiding live in isn’t given more consideration?

Exclusive: Essex social services have obtained a court order against a woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and for her child to be taken from her womb by caesarean section.

A pregnant woman has had her baby forcibly removed by caesarean section by social workers.

Essex social services obtained a High Court order against the woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and her child to be taken from her womb.

The council said it was acting in the best interests of the woman, an Italian who was in Britain on a work trip, because she had suffered a mental breakdown.

The baby girl, now 15 months old, is still in the care of social services, who are refusing to give her back to the mother, even though she claims to have made a full recovery.

The case has developed into an international legal row, with lawyers for the woman describing it as “unprecedented”.

They claim that even if the council had been acting in the woman’s best interests, officials should have consulted her family beforehand and also involved Italian social services, who would be better-placed to look after the child.

Brendan Fleming, the woman’s British lawyer, told The Sunday Telegraph: “I have never heard of anything like this in all my 40 years in the job.

“I can understand if someone is very ill that they may not be able to consent to a medical procedure, but a forced caesarean is unprecedented.

“If there were concerns about the care of this child by an Italian mother, then the better plan would have been for the authorities here to have notified social services in Italy and for the child to have been taken back there.”

The case, reported by Christopher Booker in his column in The Sunday Telegraph, raises fresh questions about the extent of social workers’ powers.

It will be raised in Parliament this week by John Hemming, a Liberal Democrat MP. He chairs the Public Family Law Reform Coordinating Campaign, which wants reform and greater openness in court proceedings involving family matters.

He said: “I have seen a number of cases of abuses of people’s rights in the family courts, but this has to be one of the more extreme.

“It involves the Court of Protection authorising a caesarean section without the person concerned being made aware of what was proposed. I worry about the way these decisions about a person’s mental capacity are being taken without any apparent concern as to the effect on the individual being affected.”

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is an Italian national who come to Britain in July last year to attend a training course with an airline at Stansted Airport in Essex.

She suffered a panic attack, which her relations believe was due to her failure to take regular medication for an existing bipolar condition.

She called the police, who became concerned for her well-being and took her to a hospital, which she then realised was a psychiatric facility.

She has told her lawyers that when she said she wanted to return to her hotel, she was restrained and sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Meanwhile, Essex social services obtained a High Court order in August 2012 for the birth “to be enforced by way of caesarean section”, according to legal documents seen by this newspaper.

The woman, who says she was kept in the dark about the proceedings, says that after five weeks in the ward she was forcibly sedated. When she woke up she was told that the child had been delivered by C-section and taken into care.

In February, the mother, who had gone back to Italy, returned to Britain to request the return of her daughter at a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Her lawyers say that she had since resumed taking her medication, and that the judge formed a favourable opinion of her. But he ruled that the child should be placed for adoption because of the risk that she might suffer a relapse.

The cause has also been raised before a judge in the High Court in Rome, which has questioned why British care proceedings had been applied to the child of an Italian citizen “habitually resident” in Italy. The Italian judge accepted, though, that the British courts had jurisdiction over the woman, who was deemed to have had no “capacity” to instruct lawyers.

Lawyers for the woman are demanding to know why Essex social services appear not have contacted next of kin in Italy to consult them on the case.

They are also upset that social workers insisted on placing the child in care in Britain, when there had been an offer from a family friend in America to look after her.

An expert on social care proceedings, who asked not to be named because she was not fully acquainted with the details of the case, described it as “highly unusual”.

She said the council would first have to find “that she was basically unfit to make any decision herself” and then shown there was an acute risk to the mother if a natural birth was attempted.

An Essex county council spokesman said the local authority would not comment on ongoing cases involving vulnerable people and children.

I should not be here at this moment but .... insomnia works in many wondrous and aggravating ways.  Loaded with pills and wine and still no sleep and busy day ahead, a day I think I might miss.
Ruff patch lately and unexpected visit from wife’s old school friend from across the country, totally unexpected and unannounced. But they were what Brits refer to as ‘mates’ which are close friends. Hadn’t seen each other in 20 or more years altho they kept in touch. So they descended on us with neither of us feeling up to scratch but what could we do?  Mad rush to straighten things and clear the room where we host guests etc.

Ok so anyway ... insomnia and booted this damn machine which I want to replace with bigger better faster and SSD drive.
Does MAC have SSD? I’m sure they must.  I am thinking tha at my age, it may well be the last puter I own so I want speed and easy use and I want it to have a bedroom, loo and kitchen too.

None of the above is why I am here at this moment. I just sidetrack myself a lot as most of you good folks know.
I haven’t turned on the heat in this room cos I need to be awake at least for this post which I want to share.  Colder it is less likely I’ll doze at the keyboard but do not look forward to the day’s coming activities. Crivens.

Corruption is rife in Britain’s Pakistani community, the country’s most senior law officer has warned.

Dominic Grieve said politicians needed to ‘wake up’ to the threat of corruption posed by minority communities using a ‘favour culture’.

Mr. Grieve has now issued a groveling apology for his remarks. 

The government’s chief legal adviser has apologised for any offence caused when he said corruption was “endemic” in some ethnic minority communities.

Attorney general Dominic Grieve told a newspaper the problem was not restricted to “any one community” but he was referring mainly to Pakistanis.

Some Asian commentators have described Mr Grieve’s remarks as “divisive”.

Later, Mr Grieve said he was wrong to give the impression that there was a problem in the Pakistani community.

In a statement, he said: “It is not my view. I believe the Pakistani community has enriched this country a great deal as I know full well from my extensive contact with the community over a number of years.

“I’m sorry if I have caused any offence.”

THE DIVERSITY PO-LEECE AND OFFENSE SEEN WHERE IT DOESN’T EVEN EXIST

Just another sign of the times.

It only takes ONE “offended” loony tune to open an investigation into race and hate crime scenario.

SEEING OFFENSE WHERE THERE ISN’T ANY

A mural painted in 1936 and lovingly restored with a Heritage Lottery Fund grant this week found itself at the centre of a ‘hate crime’ investigation.

It features scenes from the Lewis Carroll children’s classic Alice In Wonderland and is on display in the assembly hall at Wardie Primary School in Edinburgh.

But when one prospective parent spotted a golliwog lurking on a shelf in one of the nine paintings, she went bonkers. Sorry, but there really is no other word to describe her reaction.

Margaret Neizer-Rocha complained to the police, the City of Edinburgh Council and members of the Scottish Parliament about the ‘racist and offensive nature’ of the mural.

She likened it to displaying a swastika or a Ku Klux Klan costume.

Oh, for heaven’s sake.

But instead of telling Mrs Neizer-Rocha to calm down, the authorities indulged her. A po-faced police spokesman said: ‘Police Scotland treats all reports relating to hate incidents seriously and investigates thoroughly whenever a report of this nature is made.’

This is what happens when you change the law to allow ‘hate crimes’ to be defined in the eye of the beholder. All sense of perspective goes straight out of the window. You end up with lowest-common-denominator prosecutions based not on facts but on the opinion of the person with the thinnest skin.

Mrs Neizer-Rocha, who is herself black, is entitled to take offence. But she’s not entitled to expect the forces of law and order to dance to her tune.

Unfortunately, the police long ago lost the plot when it comes to ‘racism’ and ‘hate crimes’.

Most of us thought we’d grown out of all this golliwog nonsense donkey’s years ago. It all began back in the Eighties when the Left launched a campaign against the gollies on Robertson’s jam jars.

The hysteria reached its nadir when a number of police forces raided toy shops confiscating gollies and threatening owners with prosecution.

Even Buckingham Palace was forced to issue a grovelling, self-flagellating apology after someone spotted a golliwog on sale in the Sandringham souvenir shop.

How on earth can anyone classify an 80-year-old Alice In Wonderland painting as a ‘hate’ incident?

There is more than enough genuine hatred and racism in the world, without fetishising golliwogs for special opprobrium.

Why should modern black people living in Britain be offended? I’ve never seen anyone who looks or dresses remotely like a golliwog. Well not since the days of Afro perms and Seventies funk bands.

Isn’t it time, in the Left’s favourite phrase, to move on?

There was an interesting letter in The Times yesterday from a man of African heritage living in Devon. You can’t change history, he wrote, so leave the golliwogs alone.

That’s precisely the point made about the Alice In Wonderland mural by Jeremy Howard, of the Decorated School project at the University of St Andrews: ‘This is history. If you start painting it out or get rid of it you’re deceiving people about what views were prevalent in the Thirties.’

While Plod couldn’t wait to launch a ‘hate’ investigation, and tick a few ‘diversity’ boxes, the school and Edinburgh Council are made of sterner stuff and have refused to remove the mural or paint over the golly.

And that should be the end of the matter but,

in order to be seen to be ‘doing something’, the school has announced it will be stepping up ‘anti-racism’ lessons for its pupils.

Why?
