“Sunspot”

A spot in the sun
It looks like a speck of dust on the surface of the sun. But this spectacular picture shows the space shuttle Atlantis alongside the International Space Station (ISS) silhouetted as they orbit the earth.
The image was taken in Normandy by French astrophotographer Thierry Legault. He used a digital camera attached to a £5,000 specially kitted-out telescope.

A Nightmare On Liberal Street

You may file the following report under “T” for “Things we always suspected but needed proof” or under “S” for “Sure explains a lot, don’t it?” Personally, I’ll just file it under “I ALREADY KNEW THAT”. No kidding, this scientist is on to something important here.

We all know that Liberals’ intelligence and reasoning ability falls somewhere between that of a lemur and a moon rock but we really never knew for sure just how warped and demented their tiny little brains are. Here is proof of the cause of their disease.

They can’t sleep fer s**t! They are hounded through their dreams by their conscience and common sense, always nipping at their dreaming heels as if to say “Wake up, asshole! Get a grip!” Unfortunately, these dreams go mostly ignored by Liberals as soon as they wake up and strap on their tinfoil helmets and prepare to face another day among normal folks like thee and me.

Is it any wonder they resort to drugs and alcohol in a failing attempt to suppress these nightly nightmares? It will make it easier to identify the Looney Liberals in our midst though. Just ask the next person you see if they had any cool dreams lately. If they cringe and start weeping you’ve got yerselves a Liberal Insomniac on yer hands. A hard smack up side of their pointy little heads may help. Or maybe not. It’s always worth a try though. Mheh-heh ...

... And be sure to read the last paragraph below. It’ll make your day ....

imageimageDream World A Strange, Scary
Place For Liberals

- by Chris Lackner, The Ottawa Citizen
Wednesday, September 27, 2006

If you’ve recently dreamed about sex with a stranger, flying or the dead coming back to life, chances are you’re probably a liberal instead of a conservative. A dream researcher from John F. Kennedy University in California has discovered fundamental differences between the dream worlds of people on the ideological left and the ideological right.

Among his findings, Kelly Bulkeley discovered that liberals are more restless sleepers and have a higher number of bizarre, surreal dreams—including fantasy settings and a wide variety of sexual encounters. Conservatives’ dreams were, on average, far more mundane and focused on realistic people, situations and settings.

“Conservatives seem to have more of a focus on the here and now and the material world whereas liberals, in contrast, seem to have a much wider sphere of imaginative activity,” he said. “They don’t just dream about what is, but what could be or what they wish could be,” Mr. Bulkeley said.

His research is being published in an upcoming issue of Dreams, a journal published by the American Psychological Association. Out of the 134 liberals who participated in the study, 91 per cent said they recently dreamed about sex; only 76 per cent of 100 conservative subjects admitted the same.

But Mr. Bulkeley said the two political stripes showed very different tastes in dream partners. Liberals were far more likely to have sexual dreams about strangers and a variety of partners, while liberal women showed a greater tendency towards same-sex fantasies than their conservative counterparts (24 versus four per cent).

“Especially for liberal women, there was a far greater variety in sexual partners and incidents of homosexuality,” Mr. Bulkeley said. “Liberals tended to show a greater willingness to experiment with different things.” Conservatives, by comparison, were far more likely to report having sexual dreams about their spouse or current partner.

While left-wingers might be more adventurous in the subconscious bedroom, they’re also more likely to wake up in a cold sweat. Liberals showed slightly higher levels of nightmares than conservatives—a statistic at odds with a similar dream study Mr. Bulkeley conducted in the late 1990s. He said the ideology of the United States’ governing party may affect the dream patterns of Republicans and Democrats.

While conservatives deplored former president Bill Clinton’s reign in the 1990s, liberals are currently both furious and fearful of the Bush administration, he said. “With the change from the Clinton to the Bush administrations, there are waking world reasons for liberals to be more concerned and stressed, and conservatives to be less concerned,” Mr. Bulkeley said. “Dreams are like political cartoons of the mind—mental op-ed columns. Sometimes dreams reflect internal commentaries on the state of things.”

The study includes some of the dreams recounted by liberals, such as the following nightmare: “I was at a presidential rally where George W. Bush was speaking. There was so much red, white and blue. Bush speaks: ‘There are those who say that we are giving up our civil liberties. But I say, we should be proud to sacrifice our freedoms for America!’ The crowd went wild, clapping, cheering and waving flags. I awoke in a cold sweat.”

“While some of my colleagues think my research reinforces the stereotype of repressed, uptight conservatives, it also shows that many liberals may he hanging on the edge of mental well-being,” Mr. Bulkeley said. “There may be a lot of hidden distress and unpleasantness in the liberal mind.”

Cat Fight!

I love a good cat fight ... especially when I like one of the “cats” and utterly despise the other “cat”. The two “cats” in question are Michelle Malkin (Yay!) and Wonkette (Barf!). The current war has sunk to new lows as Wonkette has now started posting photoshopped images of Michelle in goofy, semi-sexual poses (see below). I don’t know about you but I’m rooting for Michelle on this one. That stupid Wonkette beeyatch needs a good ass-whuppin’. Go give Michelle your support as she carries the good fight to the blogslut from hell.

Most Ridiculous Item Of The Day (so far)

Between the terrorists and the normal lunatics, flying is gettin’ to be a might weird as well as dangerous. I say we bring back trains and slow ocean ships. Maybe it’s time we slowed down a little ... to allow idjits like the old man in the story below time to catch up. Whaddya think?

imageimageAirline Passengers Have Bizarre Dispute
MIAMI (AP) - September 29, 2006, 7:38 AM EDT

Federal agents questioned two airline passengers Wednesday after a dispute that began when a man sprayed the person sitting next to him with perfume, authorities said.

The two men, who were not arrested, were aboard an American Airlines flight from Lima, Peru, to Miami when the confrontation took place, Miami FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela said.

Before the flight, the older man left his assigned seat and laid down in the aisle. He also asked for a glass of water and poured it on his head, Orihuela said. The older man, a 56-year-old Japanese national, then sat in a seat beside a jockey in his 20s, from Louisville, Ky., The Miami Herald reported.

About two hours into the flight, the older man sprayed the jockey with perfume, Orihuela said. The younger man then took out an iPod, but the older man became upset and began elbowing the younger man, Orihuela said.

“(The older man) thought it (the iPod) was not going to be good for the plane ... with all the rules on electronics,” Orihuela said. The younger man alerted the flight crew, and he and the older man were separated. The plane landed early Wednesday morning and the two men were questioned, but not arrested, Orihuela said. Neither man was immediately named.

Cut And Run

image

Would one of you please read the latest pronouncements from the Demoncrat leaders below and show me where they have a plan for anything ... especially Iraq? All I read is “Bush Lied! Republicans Suck!” How in hell can that be defined as an alternative plan? Help me out here, people. I really don’t think the Donks have a stinking clue whatsoever. See if you can translate their verbal spewing and show me their plan.

Sen. Clinton: ‘Incalculable Damage Done to Our Country’
(CNSNews) - September 29, 2006

The upcoming mid-term election is important because the U.S. is “in a deep hole, and Republicans don’t want to quit digging,” Sen. Hillary Clinton told a gathering of Democratic women in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.

“I am just totally focused on this November’s election, and I hope you are, too,” the junior senator from New York told the Democratic National Committee Women’s Leadership Forum. “I am fixated on taking back the House and the Senate” because “everything we care about is at stake.”

“The damage that has already been done to our country in the last six years is incalculable,” she said. “It’s going to take an enormous amount of effort to begin to repair and restore American values and to reinstate the kind of shared commitment to common values and common ground that we desperately need,” Clinton added.

“If we take back one, hopefully both houses of Congress, we will be in a position to prevent the Republicans and the administration from furthering their agenda,” the senator noted.

Also stressing the importance of the Nov. 7 election was Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who told the audience that the current political contest is “about change” and promised that his party will “take back the House and pick up seats in every single state.”

Dean asserted that the main issue of the election will be national security, and he said the Bush administration’s record in this area makes him look forward to Nov. 7. “Here’s their record,” he said. “Five years after Osama bin Laden murdered 3,000 people, he’s still on the loose in northwest Pakistan plotting to kill our people.

“Five years after George Bush identified Iran as part of the Axis of Evil, they are about to get nuclear weapons,” Dean said. “Five years after George W. Bush identified North Korea as part of the Axis of Evil, they not only continue to have nuclear weapons, they are getting more nuclear weapons.

“Explain to me how this president has made America safer,” he added. “You can’t trust the Republicans to defend America, not because they don’t want to, but because they don’t know how.”

They already get my business…..

....but will be getting more now.

Chicago Tribune (registration Required)

DALLAS—7-Eleven Inc. is dropping Venezuela-backed Citgo as its gasoline supplier after more than 20 years as part of a previously announced plan by the convenience store operator to launch its own brand of fuel.

7-Eleven officials said Wednesday that the company’s decision was partly motivated by politics.

Citgo Petroleum Corp. is a Houston-based subsidiary of Venezuela’s state-run oil company and 7-Eleven is worried that anti-American comments made by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez might prompt motorists to fill-up elsewhere.

Chavez has called President George W. Bush the devil and an alcoholic. The U.S. government has warned that Chavez is a destabilizing force in Latin America.

“Regardless of politics, we sympathize with many Americans’ concern over derogatory comments about our country and its leadership recently made by Venezuela’s president,” said 7-Eleven spokeswoman Margaret Chabris.

“Certainly Chavez’s position and statements over the past year or so didn’t tempt us to stay with Citgo,” she added.

Good move guys.  You have this man’s support.

You Don’t Say?

You ladies out there may feel free to run with this one. We testosterone-fueled humans of the male gender will simply have to admit defeat as science has now determined we are brain-dead. Sorry, I lost my train of thought there. Must have been some more brain cells dying off ....

Too Much Testosterone Kills Brain Cells
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - 3:23 p.m. EDT, September 27, 2006

Too much testosterone can kill brain cells, researchers say, in a finding that may help explain why steroid abuse can cause behavior changes such as aggressiveness and suicidal tendencies. Tests on brain cells in lab dishes showed that while a little of the male hormone is good, too much of it causes cells to self-destruct in a process similar to that seen in brain illnesses such as Alzheimer’s.

“Too little testosterone is bad, too much is bad but the right amount is perfect,” said Barbara Ehrlich of Yale University in Connecticut, who led the study. Testosterone is key to the development, differentiation and growth of cells and is produced by both men and women, although men produce about 20 times more of the hormone.

It can also be abused, and recent scandals have involved athletes who use the hormone, or steroids that turn into testosterone in the body, for an unfair advantage. “Other people have shown that high levels of steroid can cause behavioral changes,” Ehrlich said in a telephone interview.

“We can show that when you have high levels of steroids, you have high testosterone and that can destroy the nerve cells. We know that when you lose brain cells you lose function.” Ehrlich’s team tried the same thing with the “female” hormone estrogen, just to be fair.

“We were surprised, but it actually looks like estrogen is neuroprotective. If anything, there is less cell death in the presence of estrogen,” she said. Writing in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Ehrlich and colleagues said their findings meant people should think twice about supplementing with testosterone, even if it does build muscle mass and aid recovery after exercise.

“These effects of testosterone on neurons will have long-term effects on brain function,” they wrote. “Next time a muscle-bound guy in a sports car cuts you off on the highway, don’t get mad—just take a deep breath and realize that it might not be his fault,” Ehrlich said in a statement.

The cells die via a process called apoptosis, also known as cell suicide or programmed cell death. “Apoptosis is an important thing for the brain—the brain needs to weed out some of the cells. But when it happens too frequently, you lose too many cells and causes problems.”

A similar process is seen in Alzheimer’s disease, the most common cause of dementia in the United States, affecting an estimated 4.5 million Americans, and Huntington’s disease, another fatal brain illness. “Our results suggest that the responses to elevated testosterone can be compared with these pathophysiological conditions,” the researchers wrote.

Whazzup Wid Dat?

You got the whole worldi n yer hands. Yer making millions of dollars a year. Why not cmmmit suicide? I don’t get it ....

imageimageSEPTEMBER 27--Controversial football star Terrell Owens attempted suicide last night by taking an overdose of prescription pain pills, according to a Dallas Police Department report. A copy of the report can be found below. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, 32, was depressed and told cops that he was trying to harm himself, the report states.

A female companion of the athlete told officers that Owens last week filled a prescription for 40 pain pills, but had only taken five of the pills up to yesterday. Owens told police that he had taken the balance of the pills last night. The woman, who has been identified as Kim Etheredge, Owens’s publicist, also told responding officers (RO/S) that she observed Owens (identified in the report as “comp,” or complainant) put two pills in his mouth, which she tried to retrieve by placing her fingers in his mouth.

He was treated at Baylor University Medical Center for a drug overdose. While the police document does not name Owens, Dallas media reports (including one from WFAA-TV, which broke the Owens story) have identified him as the “victim” referred to in the report. Early this morning, ESPN reported that Owens had been taken to a hospital emergency room after suffering an adverse reaction to painkillers, which had been prescribed as a result of broken hand suffered during a September 17 game against the Washington Redskins.

Evil Bush Conspiracy #4,388,950

What is it about “gift horses” and lunatics that always makes the latter so determined to pry open the former’s mouth and peer inside? This Gallup Poll (named after the aforementioned horse?) found out that 42% of Americans are convinced Bush has the power to manipulate gas prices around the world and do it all right before an election.

You’d think by now these tinfoil hat people would have just thrown in the towel and acknowledged Bush’s X-Ray vision and ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Interestingly, in the 2004 election 48% of idiot Democratic voters voted for John Freaking Kerry and when you compare that to the poll below where 42% believe Bush has superhuman powers of global economic manipulation and 5% have no clue, it all kinda matches up, don’t it? Well, there is that 1% who have regained a foothold in reality since 2004, it seems.

I’m surprised MSNBC had the guts to admit that two-thirds of those polled were registered Demoncrats. The other third were probably sampled from a large group camped out at Roswell, New Mexico. This is just plain silliness, folks. How can Bush, who is an “alcoholic, cocaine-addicted dumbass cowboy” (according to them) be at the same time a financial wizard and genius at manipulating the global economy with a wave of his magic wand?

With that said, you may now proceed to take your obligatory grain of salt and read about the latest conspiracy du jour from the Looney Left. While you’re at it, consider how much loonier they are going to get a month from now when Bush steals another election! Prozac, anyone ... ?

imageimageU.S. Excited (And Suspicious)
About Gas Prices

42 percent of Americans say Bush administration manipulated gas prices
(MSNBC) - 6:03 p.m. CT Sept 25, 2006

There is no mystery or manipulation behind the recent fall in gasoline prices, analysts say. Try telling that to many U.S. motorists. Almost half of all Americans believe the November elections have more influence than market forces. For them, the plunge at the pump is about politics, not economics.

Retired farmer Jim Mohr of Lexington, Ill., rattled off a tankful of reasons why pump prices may be falling, including the end of the summer travel season and the fact that no major hurricanes have disrupted Gulf of Mexico output.

“But I think the big important reason is Republicans want to get elected,” Mohr, 66, said while filling up for $2.17 a gallon. “They think getting the prices down is going to help get some more incumbents re-elected.”

According to a new Gallup poll, 42 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that the Bush administration “deliberately manipulated the price of gasoline so that it would decrease before this fall’s elections.” Fifty-three percent of those surveyed did not believe in this conspiracy theory, while 5 percent said they had no opinion.

Almost two-thirds of those who suspect President Bush intervened to bring down energy prices before Election Day are registered Democrats, according to Gallup.

White House spokesman Tony Snow addressed the issue Monday, telling reporters that “the one thing I have been amused by is the attempt by some people to say that the president has been rigging gas prices, which would give him the kind of magisterial clout unknown to any other human being.”

“It also raises the question, if we’re dropping gas prices now, why on earth did we raise them to $3.50 before?” Snow said.

The excitement — and suspicion — among U.S. motorists follows a post-summer decline in gasoline prices that even veteran analysts and gas station owners concede has been steeper than usual.

Believe It Or Not

Hmmmmm. Lemme see here. Reuters is reporting a story from Al-Arabiya TV that quotes the Taliban as saying Osama is alive and kicking and any reports of his demise are lies. Yessir, with those three reliable sources reporting it, it must be true. Bwah-hah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha ....

As Bart Simpson is so fond of saying, “You don’t have pictures, you can’t prove a thing ...” or as our Brit friends say, “Go ahead, pull the other one. It’s got bells on it ...”

imageimageTaliban Says Bin Laden Alive: Al Arabiya TV
DUBAI (Reuters) - Tue Sep 26, 5:38 AM ET

Dubai-based Al Arabiya television on Tuesday quoted a Taliban official as saying al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was alive and in good health.

The Arabic channel said its Pakistan bureau had received a call from the unnamed Taliban official a few days after a leaked French secret document said Saudi intelligence believed bin Laden died last month in Pakistan.

“The official said bin Laden was alive and that reports that he is ill are not true,” said Bakr Atyani, Al Arabiya’s Islamabad correspondent. “The Taliban checked with members who are close to al Qaeda that these reports are baseless.”

Bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahri are believed to be hiding in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He was last seen in a video statement aired to coincide with the November 2004 U.S. presidential elections.

A report in French regional daily L’Est Republicain last week quoted a document from the DGSE foreign intelligence service, saying the Saudi secret services were convinced bin Laden had died of typhoid.

Saudi Arabia said on Sunday it had no evidence that bin Laden was dead. French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said that as far as he knew the Saudi-born militant was alive.

Bin Laden has issued several audio messages in the past two years, the last one in July 2006 in which he vowed al Qaeda would fight the United States anywhere in the world.

The United States invaded Afghanistan in 2001 to flush out al Qaeda and the government of the hard-line Islamic Taliban movement that supported it after the militant network carried out the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington.

Starting Over

The Paleosimians recently got their butts whipped and you’d think they might want to lick their wounds and rethink their hatred of Israel. You would be wrong. The rocket attacks from Gaza have started all over again. They’re bringing in rockets and arms through the porous border with Egypt and starting the hellish attacks once more.

In the North, Hezbollocks is moving rockets and arms back into Paleosimian refugee camps in southern Lebanon and the Lebanese army can’t do a thing about it except stand back and watch.

What about the UN peacekeeping force with all those brave Fwench troops deployed to stop Hezbollocks, you ask? You have to be kidding me. They are not doing a damn thing to stop these vultures.

So things in the Middle East are back to square one. The Paleosimians and Hezbollocks are determined and will not stop until every last Israeli is dead. Make no mistake, this is organized genocide ... and the United Nations is completely incapable of stopping it. Even if they wanted to ....

imageimageSderot: Woman Soldier Hurt In Qassam Attack
SDEROT, Israel (Y-NET NEWS) - September 26, 2006 9:06AM

Two rockets fired by Palestinians in Gaza land in western Negev town at around 7:30 a.m.; woman moderately wounded in stomach from shrapnel, several others suffer from shock; attack causes power outage; Islamic Jihad claims responsibility

Two Qassam rockets fired by Palestinians in Gaza Tuesday morning landed in the western Negev town of Sderot. One rocket landed in Begin Square, where a woman soldier sustained moderate injuries to her stomach from shrapnel; several other people suffered from shock. The second rocket landed in the yard of a private home in the city but caused no injuries.

The blasts, which occurred at around 7:30 a.m., were especially loud, and the Red Dawn alert system was activated. The attack caused a power outage throughout the city.

The al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, took responsibility for the attack. The organization reported that it fired Quds 3 rockets as “part of a series of the organization’s responses to the continuation of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.” Sderot residents have repeatedly demanded that the government and IDF intensify the retaliation to Qassam attacks.

“It’s time that the government declare the place from which rockets are fired on a regular basis a ‘closed military zone’,” said Avi Farhan, a Gush Katif evacuee who is temporarily residing in Sderot.

“This situation cannot go on for long. Even prior to our evacuation (from Gaza) we warned that the mountain of rubble from our homes would be used by Palestinians to launch Qassams, and now a city in Israel is being bombarded on a daily basis from there.” Farhan said Sderot residents are fearful of what may come next.

“There is a feeling that state leaders are not really interested in what is going on here,” he said. “What’s most infuriating is that on Monday the government approved the lifting of the closure on Gaza and is permitting the Palestinians to enter Israel. This is a disgrace. This country has learned nothing from previous fiascos.”
