To court for swearing …. More fun with Law and Disorder …
It’s Sat. After a cloudy and very cool start this summer day, toward the end as we are, the sun shines bright and the sky is blue dotted by puffy white clouds.
One of those days where you look out the window and think, all is well in the world without a care. Uh huh. Unless you’re reading the days papers and see red along with the blue sky.
This is is one of those really loony stories I can’t pass without sharing.
I’ll tell you the happy ending first. Her name is Natalie Harrop and .. She was cleared of any wrongdoing by magistrates at Bolton, Greater Manchester on Thursday but was warned not to offend in the following 12 months and threatened with a £100 fine.
See? Good news. She was cleared with a warning. Her offense? I’ll get to that in a second.
So our Natalie and her boyfriend are at home one evening when there’s a resounding crash. An upstairs window has been broken. Not to worry. Just yoots having some fun. Except Natalie finds nothing funny about it after the boyfriend goes outside and ends up being chased by a gang of street punks.
Well, by coincidence a police car comes by and stops, seeing a possible confrontation. They tell what happened. And she’s is one angry lady. Policeman tells her to go back into her house.
She was drinking a can of beer and shouted towards the youths. She swore at one of them.
Miss Natalie Harrop, was charged with using language that could possibly have alarmed or distressed the youths.

Police seize $1.7bn worth of marijuana in California
Police in California say they have seized $1.7bn worth of marijuana plants in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
They have also arrested 97 people over the past three weeks, most of them Mexican nationals believed to have ties with Mexican drug cartels.
White House drug czar Gil Kerlikowske said police had found industrial-sized plantations of marijuana.
Experts say Mexican cartels are increasingly growing marijuana in the US, rather than smuggling it there.
450 officers from local, state and federal agencies took part in the raids in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in California.
California authorities said on Thursday they have made dozens of arrests and destroyed marijuana plants worth billions of dollars on farms that officials said are controlled by Mexican drug traffickers.
The street value of the marijuana destroyed in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains was put at $1.7 billion.
Authorities destroyed some 270 acres of marijuana plants, which were irrigated and spread with fertilizer.
“The mission is a collective fight against organized crime,” Madera County Sheriff John Anderson said.
A series of raids that began in January in three northern and central California counties—dubbed Operation Trident—netted 97 arrests and more than 400,000 marijuana plants,
Authorities also seized nearly 500 pounds of harvested marijuana, 74 ounces of cocaine, 49 ounces of methamphetamine and numerous weapons.
Those arrested were charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, weapons possession and immigration offenses, the sheriff’s office said.

Leader of Mexico’s Sinaloa drug cartel killed
One of the top three leaders of Mexico’s most powerful drug cartel, Ignacio “Nacho” Coronel,” has been killed in a gun battle with soldiers. The death of Coronel, 56, is the biggest strike yet against Sinaloa cartel led by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman - Mexico’s top drug lord - since President Felipe Calderon launched a military offensive against drug traffickers in late 2006.
According to the FBI, which offered a $5 million reward for Coronel, he was believed to be “the forerunner in producing massive amounts of methamphetamine in clandestine laboratories in Mexico, then smuggling it into the US.”
Sources from the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) confirmed the joint elite army/air force operation, composed of at least 150 soldiers and supported by two helicopters, also detained at least 10 men who made up Coronel’s personal bodyguard team.
Troops were deployed on at least five residential streets and restricted the traffic of vehicles and people during the clash. Residents reported gunfire and detonations during the operation
Pictures here, not much to see really. Notice the soldiers are using G3A3s, not M16s. No poodle shooting going on here!
Gee, too bad. Hope the cartels keep right on killing each other. And those poor mistreated Mexicans, just simple farmers, growing a crop for market. While armed to the teeth and cooking up pots of meth on the side. Arrested for doing the jobs Americans won’t do, as usual. And charged with immigration violations. The indignity.

Colorado Town Takes Style From UK
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Admitted thieves are going free, while an elderly Wheat Ridge man is facing the possibility of spending the rest of his life behind bars, all, he says, for trying to defend his property and his life.
82-year-old Robert Wallace said in February that he looked out his window and saw two men hooking his flatbed trailer up to their pickup. He yelled at them to stop, but they sped away, stealing his trailer. He told police he fired two shots at the pickup.
Minutes later, police say 32-year-old Damacio Torres dropped 28-year-old Alvaro Cardona off at a hospital emergency room with a gunshot wound to the face.
Torres did not stay to talk with police, but they caught up with him later. According to court documents, he admitted he and Cardona stole the trailer.
Wallace did not want to talk on camera, but when we asked him if the two men threatened him he said, “They almost ran me over.”
The Jefferson County DA’s office said that neither Torres nor Cardona have been charged with anything at this point, even though Torres confessed to the crime. However, the homeowner, Wallace is facing twelve felony counts, including four counts of attempted first degree murder. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Sources say Torres and Cardona are believed to be in the country illegally and both have an arrest record. Cardona’s record includes public fighting and numerous traffic offenses like driving without a license or insurance. Torres’s record includes agricultural trespassing as well as a 2005 arrest for aggravated motor vehicle theft for which he was given a plea bargain to a lesser crime. Sources say Torres is also under investigation for being part of a major auto theft ring.
I so hope this doesn’t become our new national anthem. Especially since we like to believe we started with it. I don’t want to ironically end with it as well.

Gang Way
Oh, now isn’t this special?
While reading this post, keep this flashback from 2007 in mind:
ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) conducted a threat assessment survey of all field offices:
“The results of the assessment showed that most major metropolitan areas were experiencing a surge in gang activity. Additionally, the survey showed that membership of these violent transnational gangs was comprised largely of foreign-born nationals.”
Source: ICE “Operation Community Shield” Fact Sheet June 6, 2007
• Gang members in the United States: 800,000
• State and local police in the United States: 708,000Source: Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California); hearing testimony June 5, 2007
Criminal gangs in the USA have swelled to an estimated 1 million members responsible for up to 80% of crimes in communities across the nation, according to a gang threat assessment compiled by federal officials.
...
“A rising number of U.S.-based gangs are seemingly intent on developing working relationships” with U.S. and foreign drug-trafficking organizations and other criminal groups to “gain direct access to foreign sources of illicit drugs,” the report concludes. The gang population estimate is up 200,000 since 2005.
...
The violent Salvadoran gang MS-13 has cells, or “cliques,” in 42 states. States reporting no MS-13 presence:
• Alaska
• Delaware
• Maine
• Minnesota
• North Dakota
• New Hampshire
• New Mexico
• VermontSource: FBI
I’m a bit surprised that New Mexico has no MS-13 activity. The other states mentioned seem obvious; Salvadorans, especially those with wild facial tattoos (an MS-13 affectation) would really stand out there. Maybe they’d stick out like sore thumbs in New Mexico too?
Now, I don’t know how the feds came up with this 80% number. I don’t know how they have “crime” defined, and I don’t know if they have analyzed the data in terms of locality; how much of it is urban and how much is ex-urban. But I’m sure murder/spontaneous homicide must count as one of those crimes, and the last I heard about half of that was committed by “disaffected urban youths” in “economically challenged racially homogeneous urban environments”. Surely all those people can’t belong to gangs?
And the stock response from our local government in nearly all cases is to create more laws that restrict the law-abiding citizens from arming themselves. Gee, that helps a lot, doesn’t it?
Perhaps it is time for the people to rise up and deal with this. Back in days of the Old West the townspeople would just form a posse and take care of things. That’s a bit more difficult to do these days, but the times may call for it.
Update: CRAP. I just noticed that this article was from a year and a half ago. WTF? Serves me right for getting a post idea from some email sent to me by one of those “send us money so we can fight for your gun rights” groups. Still, recent article or old, the gang problem is getting worse by the day. They have filled the criminal niche left open by other organized crime groups. Some solution needs to be created. These are highly violent people with no respect for any kind of law or civilized behavior. I think a national eradication program could be the answer, but to avoid the infinite legal expenses involved a very large part of such a program would have to be sub rosa, a look-the-other-way-and-don’t-ask-questions situation.

Busted

In the pre-dawn chill of Newburgh, New York, nearly 600 local, state, and federal law enforcement officers assembled at the armory this morning to prepare for one of the area’s largest gang takedowns in recent memory.
Indictments were unsealed against 78 members of two violent street gangs—the Bloods and the Latin Kings—and many of the unsuspecting gang members were about to wake up to SWAT teams, handcuffs, and a variety of federal drug charges.
“There are a number of neighborhood gangs in Newburgh, but these two national gangs are responsible for much of the drugs and crime in the city,” said Special Agent Jim Gagliano, who headed a 16-month, FBI-led Safe Streets Task Force investigation that culminated in this morning’s raids.
“Today’s arrests will severely disrupt and dismantle both organizations in Newburgh,” Gagliano said. “We are taking most of the local leaders of the Bloods and the Latin Kings off the streets. Some of them will likely be put away for so long they will never return to the city.”
After an early-morning briefing, agents and officers fanned out over the city in teams. Those arrested were brought back to the armory for processing and booking. Of the 60 members of the Bloods and 18 members of the Latin Kings who were indicted—some were already in jail on other charges—approximately 61 were in custody by early this afternoon. The sweep also netted four guns and a large amount of cash. The search for those still at large is ongoing.
Shame this is just the foam from the top of the beer glass. They could probably arrest another 400 of them, right there in tiny little Newburgh (pop 23,000). I know Newburgh, though I haven’t been up there in 20 years. It’s about half an hour north of West Point. Once upon a time it was a lovely little town on the Hudson river. Now it’s a “problem area”. Which means it’s a little bit of run down ghetto, out in the country. You drive along through the fields and forests, really enjoying just how nice New York is once you’re outside the NYC metro area. Up and over the Storm King, through the highlands. Then you come into Newburgh and you’re like “how the hell did this get here???” Let’s hope this bust is merely the start of a long overdue urban renewal for them.

The Chicago Way
CHICAGO—Two lawmakers who believe violence has become so rampant in Chicago that the Illinois National Guard must be called in to help made a public plea to Gov. Pat Quinn on Sunday to deploy troops.
A recent surge in violent crime, including a night last week that saw seven people killed and 18 wounded—mostly by gunfire—prompted the request from Chicago Democratic Reps. John Fritchey and LaShawn Ford. They were joined by Willie Williams, whose son was shot and killed in 2006.
Chicago has had 113 homicide victims so far this year, Fritchey said.
“As we speak, National Guard members are working side-by-side with our troops to fight a war halfway around the world,” he said during a news conference in downtown Chicago. “The unfortunate reality is that we have another war that is just as deadly that is taking place right in our backyard.”
Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis said he didn’t think the National Guard was the best answer, noting that police focus on civilian law enforcement.
“I appreciate their frustration and their willingness to help,” he said after Fritchey and Ford’s news conference. “But I am simply not sure the National Guard is the answer to our problems—at least in terms of mass deployment. I’m frankly not sure what their mission would be.”
Weis said most of the violent crime has been focused in areas that represent only 9 percent of the city. Last week, he said the department was improving its gang intelligence, developing new computer programs and creating a mobile strike force of about 100 officers to try to quell the violence, which has been largely confined to the city’s south and west sides.
Hmm, a mere 9% of the city? And would there be any sort of ... cultural clumping in those areas perhaps?
Hmm, looks more like 59% to me, not 9%
And remember, Chicago is where all the guns are outlawed, along with your right to self-defense. A city controlled by Democrats for generations. How’s that gun control shizzba workin’ out for ya now, Mayor Daley?
Fritchey said guard members have been trained in civil law enforcement as part of their nation-building assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Deploying the guard also would make economic sense, considering the near-crisis in state finances, he said.
“We don’t have the dollars to hire additional officers, but in the National Guard we have men and women on hand who are trained to deal with these situations,” he said.
That’s right suckas. Chicago had to make a few budget cut backs, so now the state - or the nation - can pay their law enforcement tab. Liberals. To the bloody bone. But if you think that’s bad ... here’s Jesse Jackson’s take. (hold your nose before reading, please.)

‘Chicago is in a State Of Emergency’Chicago is in a state of emergency. It has been reported that 113 people have been killed in Chicago this year. The same number of U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan during the same time period.
The present structure is not adequate to secure the people. We are laying off teachers, closing schools, proposing shorter school days, reducing public transportation, laying off transit workers and raising the fare for public transportation and public parking. The basic issues in the zones of pain are not being addressed. Neighborhoods facing high crime and violence are also facing record home foreclosure rates and student loan defaults.
If talk about bringing in the National Guard illuminates the issue, then let the debate begin.
We need to revive the ban on assault weapons. We need targeted jobs, targeted job training, open skill and trade training in the unions and organized adult regulated recreation for our children.
We need a comprehensive urban policy plan now. We have a plan for security and development in Iraq and Afghanistan. We also had a plan to salvage Wall Street. Why not a plan for Chicago?
The robber barons of our time have been bailed out while the poor are being locked up and wallow in unacceptable violence. We need help now.
Just as we have decided that the Wall Street banks are too big to fail, the growing number of the poor and the unemployed are too big to abandon. They must no longer be told to wait. Those in the zones of pain, whether rural Appalachia or Alabama, are too big to fail as well.
Right, he makes so much sense. Ban a particular kind of hunting rifle that is not available for sale in the city. And maybe not even in the state? That will help. More teachers, bus drivers, and toll takers will cut down on crime and gang violence. Works every time! But those high crime neighborhoods are having a hard time; it’s not their fault. And here’s a real burning bag of bullshit: things are so bad for them that their homes are being foreclosed on, and they can’t pay back their student loans!! Sure, as if any of these ghetto rats actually own instead of renting, and as if a single one of them made it through high school and went as far as community college for a week. Wha ‘chu talkin’ ‘bout Willis?
See, there can’t be a plan for the city. Gotta have one of those. Because Chicago doesn’t have a planning board? They don’t have an entire small army of business, social, cultural, academic, and housing planners? Amazing. That makes them unique among towns and cities across the nation with populations over 10,000. Who’da thunk it?
Now, let’s get some more of that Obamamoney in here - because Illinois didn’t get the hugest slice of that stimulation pie, nor did they get a crop of earmarks 10 times bigger than last year - and create government funded jobs for people. Gots to. Targeted jobs, given out based on who you are, not what you can do. Because, amazingly, private industry doesn’t want to invest in the area. At all! Because they’re all racists you know. Uppity heimies controlling all the money in their secret world domination headquarters in Heimietown NJ, right Jesse?
So while Jesse calls for mo’ money, mo’ money, mo’ money ... others look at the big picture and see how sending in the guard could be a unifying experience.
The director of CeaseFire Illinois keeps tabs on violent conflicts across the city.
He and 120 workers broker truces—sometimes literally getting between gunmen—to stop the shooting.
So Hardiman’s opinion on whether Chicago should allow the Illinois National Guard to safeguard the city carries some weight.
“It’s a good scare tactic,” he said. “But the brothers would unify to fight the system. You would have a throwback to the Black Panthers.”
Hardiman said the recent spike in murders is worrisome, especially to those in the neighborhoods on the South and West Sides where most of the violence happens.
Yet, it’s nothing new.
“Every year we struggle with March and April,” he said. “There’s a spike when the first hot days come. Any slight infraction will lead to people getting killed.”
Hardiman, whose organization operates in 12 Chicago communities and seven outside the city, plans to have his workers visit 10 communities simultaneously at 6 p.m. Friday to “go into the belly of the beast and get the word out for these young guys to put their guns down.”
Although much of the violence involves gang members, Hardiman said most of the killings involve “interpersonal” squabbles about relationships, insults and the like.
See? Nothing to worry about. This is all just the ghetto version of Le sacre du printemps. The rites of Spring. Nothing to see here, just push the bodies to one side and move along.
And the best bottom line of all is that someone has already figured out how to blame it all on Global Warming. Awesome. Blame it on a few warm days because it’s Spring. Liberals are all nuts.

Why Isn’t This News?
Golly, that ought to be the title I think. WTH, it’s actually true too, unlike those 8 white guys from the high plains states led by that Democrat that got busted the other week.
104 Are Arrested in Connection With Crips-Bloods Alliance
The Flocc street gang had an unusual mix of members. It formed out of an alliance, law enforcement officials said, between two groups that have traditionally been rivals: the Crips and the Bloods.
As the gang muscled its way into the drug trade in Far Rockaway and South Jamaica, Queens, and police officers on foot patrols started proving a nuisance to their business, at least one of their members hatched a plan to shoot them from a rooftop, the officials said.
On Friday, law enforcement authorities announced dozens of arrests as a result of a two-year investigation into the gang that they said tied it to at least 2 murders, 11 shootings, a home-invasion robbery and the distribution of cocaine and heroin.
The police said 104 people had been arrested and 8 were still being sought. Investigators also seized 60 guns, including AK-47s, Uzi submachine guns and dozens of semiautomatic handguns and revolvers.
Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly and the Queens district attorney, Richard A. Brown, stood before a table covered with guns on Friday at 1 Police Plaza to announce the arrests. One of the guns displayed was referred to by the police as a 9-millimeter assault rifle.
A what?? You mean a Marlin Camp Carbine maybe?
The investigation also led to the arrest of Farrad Smith, 23, a former correction officer who the police say was storing weapons for high-ranking gang members. Police officers searching his Far Rockaway apartment said they found a 9-millimeter pistol that had been stolen from another correction officer, a 12-gauge shotgun and a loaded AK-47.
The police said they arrested the leaders of all four gangs tied to Flocc, including the person officials said was the leader of the entire operation, Gquan Lloyd, 23. He has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property. He was being held on $350,000 bail.
Yup, sure seems like a terrorist organization to me. Size large. And a criminal one. And very very well armed. And a conspiracy. With a plan to kill police.
So why wasn’t this all over the news? Could it be that they don’t fit the MSM/White House driven profile?
Fifteen years after the Oklahoma City bombing, the specter of domestic terrorism has returned to haunt the Obama administration, with a warning from the FBI that “home-grown and lone-wolf extremists” now represent as serious a threat as Al Qaeda and its affiliates, The Times reported on Saturday.
The warning, from the FBI Director, Robert Mueller, came as the former President Clinton drew parallels between the Oklahoma City tragedy and a recent upsurge in anti-government rhetoric, while American television audiences heard Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber, describe the “absolute rage” that drove him to plan an attack that killed 168 men, women and children.
An FBI spokesman said Friday that Mueller was referring to right-wing extremist groups and anti-government militias, as well as American Islamists, in his testimony to the Senate committee that must approve the FBI’s $8.3 billion budget.
Last month federal agents arrested nine members of a Christian militia based in Michigan, calling itself the Hutaree. They have been charged with plotting to murder local police with a stash of guns, knives and grenades.
Since the passage of President Obama’s health reforms, the FBI has also made arrests in Seattle and San Francisco after death threats were sent to Democratic senators.
Nope, this alliance of gangs of bottom feeding scum, criminals, murderers, felons all ... just happen to be black. Just about all of them. And there ain’t no serious Christians in the bunch. Not a one. Therefore they can’t be any sort of terror threat, right? I’d say that outlook sounds racist, but we all know that word doesn’t apply here either. No, it’s just a criminal matter, and not even worthy of a front page story.

Close The Border, With Tanks
Sinaloa cartel takes Ciudad Juarez
After a two-year battle that has killed more than 5,000 people, Mexico’s most powerful kingpin now controls the coveted trafficking routes through Ciudad Juarez. That conclusion by U.S. intelligence adds to evidence that Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s Sinaloa cartel is winning Mexico’s drug war.
The assessment was made based on information from confidential informants with direct ties to Mexican drug gangs and other intelligence, said a U.S. federal agent who sometimes works undercover, insisting on anonymity because of his role in ongoing drug investigations.
The agent told The Associated Press those sources have led U.S. authorities to believe that the Sinaloa cartel has edged out the rival Juarez gang for control over trafficking routes through Ciudad Juarez, ground zero in the drug war.
The twin border cities of Ciudad Juarez and El Paso, Texas, are a primary crossing point for drugs smuggled into the United States. Control of drug routes in Chihuahua, the state along New Mexico and West Texas where Juarez is located, is vital to Guzman’s efforts to grow his massive drug cartel’s operations.
Most recently, officials and experts believe the cartel is trying to take over of a series of small farming towns east of Juarez. The towns, across the Rio Grande from the Texas farming towns of Fabens and Fort Hancock, had long been under the control of the Juarez cartel and were historically used as staging areas for drug smugglers. But the arrests or killings of local smugglers have left it vulnerable to attacks by Sinaloa leaders.
I think the time for kinder, gentler solutions is over. Something intense needs to be done to shut this corridor down.
Yeah yeah yeah, if there wasn’t a market here there wouldn’t be a problem there. Who cares? The problem right now is that a huge and very well armed violent criminal gang is in control in this town and several others like it nearby. A crime army. On our border. I don’t think having Obama go and bow to them is going to fix things at this point.

Teacher who allowed brother to kill his wife could return to the classroom in a year
It’s a very short and telling article that caught my eye this morning. Yet this slag is being allowed to continue teaching in schools. ??? Hey, not for me to say I realize. But wouldn’t you think this is a person who should only be cleaning floors or something? Honest, I don’t know but I’m surprised.
Here’s what I’m on about. Jeesh.
PS: I think she’s evil.
A teacher who stood by while her sister-in-law was murdered in her family home could return to the classroom in less than a year.

Uzma Khan, 25, failed to intervene as Shazad Khan beat his wife, Sabia Rani, 19, to death in Leeds, West Yorkshire, in May 2006.
She was jailed for two years along with her mother and sister, but following her release the General Teaching Council (GTC) for England has only imposed a 12 month ban from teaching.
The former science teacher at West Leeds High was sentenced in January 2008, after a judge said he could not believe a woman of her education and intelligence could have failed to realise her sister-in-law was being abused.
However, the GTC has concluded: “We have no doubt that you do not present a risk to children or pupils.”
After bludgeoning his wife, Shazad Khan carried her body through the house and put her in the bath in the communal bathroom before filling it with cold water.
The three women claimed they hadn’t realised Miss Rani was dying as a result of sustained, regular beatings.
After being subjected to three weeks of attacks by her husband she died only a few months after marrying Khan and moving from Pakistan.
A pathologist described her injuries as the worst he had ever seen and Judge James Stewart told Ms Khan the jury found her “lacking” when it came to “common humanity within your own home”.
A GTC professional conduct committee said: “In our judgment your conviction for allowing the death of a vulnerable adult has material relevance to your fitness to be a registered teacher.”
However, it concluded: “We believe that you have the potential to teach effectively in the future and you have the passion, desire and professional commitment for teaching.”
lets hear it for education. moonbat source

But come on. Take a look at this woman. Does look to be a threat. Do you think she’d run away from home cos she illegally sold a goldfish in her pet store? So why this?
A freekin electronic tag? A tag for selling a fish? Oh well. Justice must be done.
Pet shop owner fined £1,000 and told to wear an electronic tag… for selling a GOLDFISH to a boy aged 14By Jaya Narain

At most, pet shop owner Joan Higgins, 66, expected a slap on the wrist for breaking new animal welfare laws which ban the sale of pets to under-16s.
Instead, the great-grandmother was taken to court, fined £1,000, placed under curfew - and ordered to wear an electronic tag for two months.

70-year-old fends off knife wielding robber with iron bar, guy comes back and so gets whacked again

AWARDED TO THE WOULD BE IDIOT ROBBER, ... belatedly
Would a normal, smart bandit come back?
Bravo to the old fellow for downing this jerk. Kinda sorry though that he didn’t stop his useless breathing cos we all know in a short time, the gremlin will be out doing it all over again.
The surprise here is that the guy defending wasn’t arrested too. Maybe violating the gremlin’s rights or some such nonsense.
This article originates in 2009. I do not recall seeing it before or if I did, not in this form. But it was listed in the Telegraph on line and I just thought it was good enough and even funny enough to post. And so I am.
A 70-year-old shop worker who was threatened by a knife-wielding robber fended him off by hitting him over the head with an iron bar.
Harbhajan Singh showed no fear despite being locked in the shop and having the long 12 inch blade waved in his face.
He was working behind the till of the Costcutter store when knifeman Deryk Traylen ran into the shop claiming to have a gun and took a customer hostage.Traylen, 35, locked the shop door then went up to the post office counter and demanded money from Mr Singh’s son-in-law.
But the brave grandfather grabbed an iron bar from behind the shop counter, then crept up behind the robber and hit him on the hand to disarm him.
Traylen then pretended to leave but came back with a 12 inch knife, so the elderly shop worker hit him over the head.“I didn’t have any fear, my daughter and family were in trouble and I had to protect them,” said Mr Singh, who has been nicknamed the Turbanator for his heroics,
“My aim was to disarm him so I hit him on the hand to make him drop the gun, but he came back with a knife, so I hit him on the head.”

Brawl erupts at sentencing of mom who gave gun to son.
H/T American Renaissance and Fred on Everything
To fully appreciate the article, I’d like to point you to Fred ..http://fredoneverything.net/AmRenDetroit.shtml .. who has a link to AmRen.
There isn’t much I can think to say that’s very original or enlightening. It’s also past midnight and as a rule, I’m not up this late. In fact, I think I’m falling asleep here. So I leave you with this unsettling story. No doubt mommy dearest here thought the rap could be beat (it still could, couldn’t it) and was very upset as she thought these silly laws only applied to certain other people. You know. The new future minority.
Brawl erupts at sentencing of mom who gave gun to sonJoe Swickard, Detroit Free Press, March
A murderer and her supporters battled in a Detroit courtroom this morning as she was ordered to serve more than 22 years in prison for giving her teenage son a gun that he used to kill another teen at a recreation center.

Tarranisha Davis “basically just went ballistic,” said Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Ryan who presided over her trial with her son and co-defendant Tremain.
The woman “was punching yelling and screaming” as court security officers and Detroit policemen who were in the courtroom tried to control her, Ryan said.
“Then these other people jumped over the railing and start fighting, too,” Ryan said. “It spilled into the hallway.”
Other security officers rushed to the fifth floor of the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
The brawl ended with four people in custody – facing potential contempt and assault charges – and with a Wayne County Sheriff’s lieutenant and a deputy slightly injured.
Ryan said there have been other incidents “but absolutely nothing like this before.”
The uproar came as Ryan ordered Tarranisha Davis to serve 221/2 –to-40 years for second degree murder and an additional two years for using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Her son Tremaine, 15, was ordered to serve 10-to-25 years for second degree murder plus another two years for use of a firearm. He will be in a juvenile facility until he is 21.
“I gave him that sentence because he has been respectful and remorseful since Day-One,” Ryan said. “His mother, though, has shown no remorse at all.”
The mother and son were charged in the fatal shooting of Dmitri Jackson, 19, at the Considine Little Rock Family Center in October.
Authorities charge that Tarranisha Davis supplied a gun to her son, who had fought with another youth but killed Jackson by shooting in a crowd of teenagers at the center.
Witnesses said the mother drove to the center and unlatched the hood of her van so her son could get a revolver.

The crinamol system hard at work doing wrong again. All is normal …
Well here we are again. Ain’t this fun?
This has to be happening in the USA as well. No? Yes? I’d have thought after the last time this might not have happened so soon. And this guy didn’t even beat anyone up. He foiled a robbery of his place. He gets arrested.
I didn’t post the whole article but it is a MUST read. Stupid never ends.
Curry house owner foils burglary… and then HE’S thrown in cell when yobs complain
By Tom Kelly
Last updated at 2:19 AM on 13th March 2010When a restaurant owner found two teenage yobs raiding his beer cellar, he chased them and held them while his staff dialled 999.
Sal Miah assumed police would commend him for catching the young criminals.
But when officers arrived, they arrested 35-year-old Mr Miah on suspicion of assault and battery.
‘The system is a joke. How can a man who tries to prevent a crime in progress end up being the criminal?
‘People are living in fear of these kind of yobs but when you do take a stand and try and defend your home or your business you end up in trouble.

‘…the right to keep and bear chairs…’
Ex-police officer stunned by chair-wielding patron.
Pull-quote:
“I basically kept hitting him until he wasn’t moving anymore,”
Yep! That’s how I’d do it. I’d basically hit, shoot, stab, etc until he’s no longer a threat… moving. (uhh, is his chest still rising and falling?)
The man who stopped a bar shooting incident by hitting the suspected gunman with a chair was hailed as a hero on Monday.
The Saturday night shootings at Jim’s Sports Club Bar and Grill left one man dead, another critically wounded and a third with a less serious wound. Authorities said the suspect, Jason Musburger, 47, a former Chisholm police officer, had gone to the bar to confront his ex-wife.
Ryan Simonson, 27, of Chisholm, confirmed Monday that he was the patron who smashed a chair over the suspect’s head, knocking him unconscious.
“He’s a hero,” Mayor Michael Jugovich said, adding that Simonson likely saved other lives, given that the suspect had a second gun he was unable to use.
I’m still bemused by the use of the term ‘suspect’. He’s not a ‘suspect’. He did it, and the chair proves it!

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
- Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
