maybe too leftover

Not having the best of days here.

I made up some leftover leftovers for dinner the other night, finding all sorts of “hey, this still looks Ok” bits in the fridge. A little pork, a little lamb, some roasted chicken, but no ham. A few spoonsful of various vegetables and the end of a couple bags of frozen ones. You know, a real “Dad meal” to use up all that expensive food going to waste. Made up some rice, and found a can of Thai curry paste in the back of the closet that was only a year and a half out of code. Put it all together, and it was actually pretty good. And there was enough leftover so I could have another serving for lunch yesterday. But today ... I think I’m going to stay close to home. As in, no more than 30 seconds away from my new favorite seat.

Crivens. It must have been the rice.

I think it’s time to start putting date labels on all those little containers that breed in the icebox. Just so I know.

And it’s time to visit the Asian market again to get another half dozen or so cans of Maesri Thai curry paste. That stuff is so good, no matter what flavor you pick.

We are all going to hell in a handcart.

I didn’t think I’d need to post the entire story and link.

image

I first heard this from a workman next door when we got here in 2004.

But things have changed.  They got worse.  Much worse.  Two muslim scum were arrested today while planning to kill an American serviceman, any American serviceman, in a copycat attack like the Rigby murder two yrs ago, when a Brit soldier was run down by a car and while disabled, butchered in the street in broad daylight.  The guys were in court today laughing.  And there’s this. Not on the same level but gives you an idea of what membership in the EU can mean.

Call the midwife? No, call immigration… RICHARD LITTLEJOHN asks why migrant who gave birth near Marble Arch was ever in the UK in the first place

By Richard Littlejohn for the Daily Mail

Here’s a story you may have missed, since it didn’t get much coverage in the newspapers and appears to have been ignored by the broadcast media.

I only stumbled across it when I was trying to catch up with what had been going on while I was taking a short break.

Very little, from what I can gather. But this one parable of our times grabbed my attention.

It languished at the bottom of Page 11 of last Thursday’s London Evening Standard and although it was followed up in a couple of other publications, I can’t help feeling it deserves a wider audience.

‘Three police officers had to step in to deliver a baby in front of shocked commuters and tourists in the morning rush hour at Marble Arch.

‘The officers ran to help the woman after being alerted by passers-by. Ambulance staff provided instructions over the phone and she gave birth shortly after 8am.

‘One witness said: “We could not believe what we were seeing in a tourist spot in London in broad daylight. The woman was obviously in distress and the officers were brilliant at calming her down. They are real heroes.” ’

On one level you could argue that this is a heart-warming human drama, a precious new life safely delivered into the world by our versatile and compassionate British bobbies.

But we’re not talking Away In A Manger here. This is a real ‘Oi, Doris!’ eye-opener, which only serves to underline the insanity of our open borders immigration policy.

We are not told much about the woman involved. She is variously described as ‘homeless’ or a ‘rough sleeper’ as if she is the unwitting victim of cruel circumstances.

Her identity has not been forthcoming from either the Metropolitan Police or University College Hospital, where mother and baby were taken.

A couple of the reports do say she is a ‘migrant’ and point out that Marble Arch has become a magnet for Eastern European vagrants — although obviously they don’t use the word ‘vagrant’, which could be considered judgmental, probably racist and most certainly offensive towards a vulnerable minority.

So I think it’s fair to assume that she’s one of the many Eastern European gypsies camped out around Hyde Park, who do so much to enrich the diversity of our capital city, bringing with them their traditional skills such as aggressive begging and pickpocketing.

A group of these valuable and talented folk recently decided to make their home at the memorial to all those slaughtered by Islamist suicide bombers on the London Transport network ten years ago.

They had converted the memorial plaque into a dinner table, and were using the nearby bushes as a toilet.

From time to time, the authorities make a half-hearted attempt to move them on, by offering to pay for air fares back home, which is usually Romania. But even those who take up the offer come back again.

While this country remains part of the EU, there’s nothing we can do to stop them, either. Even in the unlikely event of a referendum vote to pull out, this particular woman is now the mother of a British citizen and will never be deported. And, presumably, now she has a baby, we will be expected to provide her with suitable accommodation and the full panoply of welfare benefits.

She may well become a useful and integrated part of British society and her child may grow up to discover a cure for cancer. Or not, as the case may be.

But, honestly, what was she doing here in the first place? What special gifts do she and her fellow ‘rough-sleepers’ bring with them?

Do any of those responsible for promoting ‘diversity’ and open borders really believe that it’s a good idea to invite itinerant people with no job and no home; with whom we have nothing in common and no duty towards; and who have no intention of contributing anything positive to our society; to travel across a continent and establish an open-air gypsy camp in one of our world-famous royal parks?

Could anyone have envisaged that one of London’s best-known monuments would one day become a makeshift maternity ward, with three coppers playing Call The Midwife?

We are all going to hell in a handcart.

A Timely Response

A nasty crime spree in my general area comes to a close.

Serial Killer Captured

Month long rampage across NJ and PA saw 10 shot, 7 killed

Oh wait, this never even made the news. Because almost everyone involved is black.

4 murders and 1 attempted murder in NJ (at the east end of Route 78)

A 22-year-old Elizabeth man has been charged with three homicides and one nonfatal shooting in Elizabeth on June 25 as well as the shooting death of his cousin the month before.
...
In Union County, West has been charged with the shooting deaths of Dennis Vega, 28, Jamil Payne, 29, Kelvin Nelson, 32, all of Elizabeth, who were killed on June 25 and the May 18 shooting death of West’s cousin, Michael Thompkins, 29, in the hallway of his Elizabeth home. West also is facing attempted murder and weapons charges in connection with the June 25 shooting of Richard Marte, 24, of Elizabeth. Park said Marte is recovering from his injuries but is expected to survive.

“We have never seen one individual commit this type of shootings spree, murder spree in such a short period of time in this county,” Park said Thursday during a news conference.
...
[Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. ] Park said Todd West was charged with murder and a number of weapons offenses after he was arrested this week in Pennsylvania in connection with two July 5 homicides in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he has family and one in Easton, Pennsylvania.

3 murders and 2 attempted murders just over the border in PA, plus a series of early morning muggings. (where Route 78 crosses into PA)

Twenty-nine minutes after buying ammunition for a .38-caliber revolver at a Walmart, three men in a white sport utility vehicle opened fire early Sunday in Easton’s West Ward, the start of a bloody rampage that left three dead, authorities said Tuesday in announcing arrests.

Kory Ketrow, 22, was gunned down at 3:14 a.m. in the 1100 block of Lehigh Street as he walked home. Minutes later, about a mile away, one of the men in the SUV fired at a couple driving near Route 22 in Easton’s downtown, authorities said.

That couple was spared when the shooter missed his mark, but authorities said the spree of indiscriminate shooting was not over.

The men in the SUV made their way to Allentown, where they opened fire on Francine E. Ramos, 32, and Trevor D. Gray, 21, two Allentown residents riding in a car near Sixth and Greenleaf streets, authorities said.

Ramos crashed into the SUV in an attempt to get away, authorities said, but she was found dead in her car at 3:59 a.m. Gray died a short time later.

At separate news conferences detailing the violent crime spree, authorities in Lehigh and Northampton counties said they did not know why the three men arrested — one from Easton and two from New Jersey —fired at people randomly early Sunday morning.

“Based on the evidence, all of these acts, all of them, appear to be completely random,” Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said Tuesday afternoon.

Robert A. Jourdain, 20, of Easton; Todd West, 22, of Elizabeth, N.J.; and Kareem Mitchell, 23, of Newark, N.J., were arrested Monday and face three counts of homicide in the killings, and two counts of attempted homicide in the downtown Easton shooting.

Jourdain and West also were charged in three Allentown knifepoint muggings that happened the day after the killings, police said. They were arrested when Allentown patrolmen chased them down minutes after the third Monday morning mugging. Mitchell turned himself in later that day.

That makes 7 murders and 3 attempted murders, for a total of 10 shootings. All by the same guy, with the same gun, although sometimes he had some help with him.

So what’s the public outcry? Stop selling ammo late night at Wal-mart.

Friends and loved ones of Kory Ketrow say they’lll advocate for legislation that regulates the late-night sale of bullets.

Ketrow, 22, of Easton, was fatally shot at 3:15 a.m. on July 5 as he walked home in the city’s West Ward.
Todd West (Courtesy photo)Jim Deegan | For lehighvalleylive.com

He was a random victim who authorities say didn’t know his assailant, identified by police as Todd West, 22, of Elizabeth, N.J.

West killed Ketrow and two other people in Allentown with ammunition purchased at 2:45 that morning at the Wal-Mart in Lower Nazareth Township, police said.

“I think Wal-Mart should be held accountable,” said Rich Bader, whose family took in Ketrow the past few years. “I don’t understand what a young man 20 years of age is doing coming in to buy ammo at that hour and he gets it. It shouldn’t happen.”

Police say 20-year-old Robert Jourdain, of Easton, who is among three men charged in the three killings with West, bought the .38-caliber bullets used in shootings.

A spokesman for Wal-Mart couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Bader said he’s only just begun to rally support for a change in the law that would outlaw bullet sales at certain times. It would be called “Kory’s Law” and forbid ammunition sales between 10 at night and 5 in the morning, he said.

“I feel Kory didn’t die in vain. He died for a reason,” said Bader, who has a 21-year-old son of his own. “I believe the reason is we’ll be able to change some gun laws.

I feel bad for these people, I do. It’s horrible that these lives were snuffed out for no reason at all by some psychotic bastard. But if had had to wait another few hours to get more bullets, then the shootings would have just happened the next night. Most likely to some other people. And he’d still have more than half a box of ammo left, and who knows, he could still be out there on the lamb.  I’m not really sure that outlawing late night sales would do a thing, other than perhaps annoy some hunters somewhere down the line in the fall.

cops grass on fellow cops and travellers honor robin hood

I’m gonna take a note, a word actually, out of Mark’s book with the word being,
“Swill”. And if this is not that, than I need to seriously consult a dictionary and do more reading.  What clap trap. What BS and politically correct nonsense this is.

Folks who have been reading BMEWS for awhile and even over years, are familiar with the Traveller/ Gypsy problem not just here in the UK, where it can get pretty bad believe you me.  But all over Europe as well.  You just can not imagine, if you are reading this in the USA, how it’s possible for a group to cut locks on gates and simply move on to land both public and private.  Of course in the USA, there are ways to get ppl off your property pretty quickly.  Over here it can and it has, taken ten long years in courts.

So anyway …. the cops see these life forms who I hate to refer to as people thus implying they are actually human, and must deal with them daily. And not just them but those other life forms in the form of human right activists.

Why the hell does anyone wanna be a policeman anymore?
An alarm was raised?  Oh dear. The F****** sky must be falling.

Police and their secret racist abuse of gipsies on Facebook: Scotland Yard investigate private group after alarm was raised by some members

· Scotland Yard is investigating reports group exchanged racist views online
· Anti-corruption officials were called in after members raised the alarm
· Offensive comments were made in secret Facebook group ‘I’ve Met the Met’

By Chris Greenwood for the Daily Mail

Police used a secret online forum to make offensive comments about ‘pikeys’, it was claimed last night.

Scotland Yard is investigating reports that a private Facebook group, called ‘I’ve Met The Met’, was used to exchange racist views about travellers.
Anti-corruption officials were called in after some of the 3,000 members, who include serving and retired officers, raised the alarm.

A third member added: ‘There is not a small minority of criminals from the GT [gipsy and traveller] community – to all intents and purposes they all depend on crime.’

Attention was first drawn to the forum, which is hidden from public view and managed on an invite-only basis, three months ago. Named ‘I’ve Met The Met’ after a fondly remembered 1980s public safety promotion, it serves as an unofficial online forum for the ‘police family’.

But several racist comments appear to have been made during a light-hearted discussion of controversy over the use of the word ‘pikey’.
The slang term, which refers to gipsies and travellers, was once widely used but is now considered unacceptable.

Both groups are officially recognised as ethnic minorities, meaning discriminating against them is illegal.

Yesterday, the force was urged to launch a wider review amid claims that racism against these groups has become ‘part of police culture’.
The Traveller Movement charity said the comments suggest a ‘canteen culture of racism towards gipsies and travellers’.

Chairman Jim Davies added: ‘Racism towards gipsies and travellers is endemic and is part of police culture. It has been allowed to fester and spread unchallenged for years.’

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said concerns were first raised in April, and that officers from the force’s directorate of professional standards are investigating. One of their key tasks is to assess whether any of those who posted racist comments are serving officers.

source

What has festered for years has been the outrageous behavior of this group.  And btw, we have ourselves come to meet some of the vermin and not to our benefit. There’s a reason so many resent and hold negative views of these …. sub humans. The property they trash, the trash and the garbage they leave behind after an uninvited visit.  Laws don’t apply to them, the only laws that matter are the ones they make for themselves.  Everything becomes a matter of race with bed wetting politically correct left.  When people are angry or frustrated they need an outlet.  Short of killing ( which I don’t oppose in a good cause ) people often use terms that are not those of endearment.  But more and more words and expressions are being made up and declared unPC and racist. Well F*** em all.
This group has gone out of its way to insure that the general public can not stand the sight of them.  Oh yeah … just what were some of the awful things the cops said in what they thought was private conversation.

Take a look.

image

Well f*** me if that isn’t a hanging offense, what is?

I’m damn tired .... back aches from being at this thing but this has to be shared.

In the news today .... take a look.  Then tell me cops don’t have cause to speak of the devil amongst themselves using whatever language or expressions that fit the bill.  Oh and nor just cops.  How about the folks in communities across the country who have had to put up with these miserable bastards.  For YEARS!
And mustn’t say naughty things cause they are an ethnic minority these days.

Gipsies from across Europe holiday in Nottingham because they ‘relate to Robin Hood and his band of merry travellers’

Travellers from France, Sweden and Morocco arrived in city this weekend
The 60-strong group want to visit Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle
Illegal campers say they can ‘relate to him and his band of merry travellers’
Council said travellers are on private land and it therefore has no power to move them

By Steph Cockroft for MailOnline

Gipsies from across Europe have arrived in Nottingham for a two-week summer holiday so they can visit sites associated with Robin Hood.

Travellers from France, Sweden and Morocco have pitched up on private land next to the city’s BioCity Science Park so they can visit Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle.

The illegal campers, consisting of more than 60 people, said they want to learn more about England’s most famous outlaw as many can relate to Robin Hood and his ‘band of merry travellers.

Local residents have given a mixed reaction to the arrival. Builder Kevin Parry, 30, from West Bridgford, said: ‘They are on private land and should not be there. It is a real eyesore.

God knows what the mess is going to look like once they move on after two weeks. The city centre is not a gypsy camp.’

Jonathan Henley, 32, who lives in the city centre, added: ‘I suppose they are entitled to a summer holiday just like everyone else, although I do wonder what they all do for a living.

‘I can see why they like Robin Hood - they have a few things in common. I just hope they are not planning on having a party every night.’

But Paul Spinks, 35, of Sneinton Hermitage, Nottingham, said: ‘It’s the first time we’ve seen them here and it doesn’t bother me.

‘It’s not like the site is being used for anything else. It’s just waste land. It would be different if it was going to be used for another purpose.’

Nina Simpson, 38, who also lives nearby said: ‘They’ve come to the right place no one is going to care. You’ve got Sneinton near here, full of welcoming people.’

A spokesman for Nottingham City Council said the travellers had moved onto private land and therefore have no power to move them.

He said: ‘If it was council-owned land, there would be a very stringent plan to remove them. It is private land so our involvement ends here.’

Earlier this month, a group of gipsies from Monte Carlo had to be evicted after setting up camp in Swansea for the fourth year running.

The group, made up of 30 families driving campervans, caravans and BMWs, travelled to Strasbourg in April, before stopping off at Calais and London en route to the South Wales coast.

They had broken a padlock to get their caravans through a gate on to public land, popular with picnickers and local sports teams. According to angry locals, the illegal campers turned a nearby footpath into a public toilet and littered the park, according to angry locals.

In 2011, a convoy of French gypsies set up camp on a village green in London while they spent a holiday sightseeing in London.

Eleven caravans, with all 40 gypsies said to be from the same family, descended on Mabley Green in Homerton, Hackney, East London.

just for the heck of it

It isn’t important .... it’s just that the photo in the morning paper kinda stood out a bit.  It probably isn’t even interesting to most. But ...
Never mind a guy was found at the bottom of their pool.
What interested me was how much better mommy looks than her daughters.

Btw .... who names a girl, Scout?  And Rumer?  Who cares?

So on the far left in the photo here is Tallulah who is 21.

On the right, the bigger girl is Scout, who is 24 years old today.  Happy B. Day Scout.

In the middle is mommy.

DEMI MOORE Age 52.

Birth Of A Nation

We Are Become The BSA

Obama’s Race Database Will Ensure Equal Outcomes, No Matter What

A key part of President Obama’s legacy will be the fed’s unprecedented collection of sensitive data on Americans by race. The government is prying into our most personal information at the most local levels, all for the purpose of “racial and economic justice.”

Unbeknown to most Americans, Obama’s racial bean counters are furiously mining data on their health, home loans, credit cards, places of work, neighborhoods, even how their kids are disciplined in school — all to document “inequalities” between minorities and whites.

This Orwellian-style stockpile of statistics includes a vast and permanent network of discrimination databases, which Obama already is using to make “disparate impact” cases against: banks that don’t make enough prime loans to minorities; schools that suspend too many blacks; cities that don’t offer enough Section 8 and other low-income housing for minorities; and employers who turn down African-Americans for jobs due to criminal backgrounds.

Big Brother Barack wants the databases operational before he leaves office, and much of the data in them will be posted online.

So civil-rights attorneys and urban activist groups will be able to exploit them to show patterns of “racial disparities” and “segregation,” even if no other evidence of discrimination exists.

Federally funded cities deemed overly segregated will be pressured to change their zoning laws to allow construction of more subsidized housing in affluent areas in the suburbs, and relocate inner-city minorities to those predominantly white areas. HUD’s maps, which use dots to show the racial distribution or density in residential areas, will be used to select affordable-housing sites.

HUD plans to drill down to an even more granular level, detailing the proximity of black residents to transportation sites, good schools, parks and even supermarkets. If the agency’s social engineers rule the distance between blacks and these suburban “amenities” is too far, municipalities must find ways to close the gap or forfeit federal grant money and face possible lawsuits for housing discrimination.

Civil-rights groups will have access to the agency’s sophisticated mapping software, and will participate in city plans to re-engineer neighborhoods under new community outreach requirements.

“By opening this data to everybody, everyone in a community can weigh in,” Obama said. “If you want affordable housing nearby, now you’ll have the data you need to make your case.”

And this is just the beginning, the tip of the iceberg. Other “equality” databases are out there monitoring the mortgage companies, the credit card folks, your school system, and hiring at banks and brokerages. Read as much as you can stand, here.

So sad that so few people understand the difference between Equal Opportunity and Equal Outcome. Because it’s so narrow and minor a difference: the first is freedom, the second is tyranny.

revisiting the war between the states … reprint of bmews comments cos they belong here

A few days ago two people here at BMEWS held forth in the comments section of our pages.
Under the heading ...

Hysterical Revisionism: “Sandblast them!”

This had to do, for those passing by for the first time, the battle flag and symbol of the Confederate States and the reaction of the hand wringing left.

I’ve had my say more than once and that’s enough. I’ve also had it on the front page where these comments belong.
I suppose knowing folks back in TN whose kin fought for the CSA, and weren’t slave holders, and who to this day are proud of their people who fought hard and never took the oath after the war, I guess that’s as close as I can get to events.

Anyway, I think both Turtler and Mark Matis were brilliant in their arguments and both should have had the front page where, even if the story is past by some days, they well deserve to be.

Here’s TURTLER ...

This is a damned disgrace. It pisses me off.

And I’m about as true blue a Unionist as you can get. I have no love for the Treason (as it should be called) or the Confederate flags, and much less for the Confederate cause. I actually agree completely with the the assessment that “The insurrection’s sole purpose was to create a separate nation that would maintain the enslavement of generations of African descendants.” In large part because that is what the Confederate States’ releases at the time said.

But I’m also a Conservative, and a historian.

So for starters, if Georgia- or any other state- wants to continue mythologizing something that probably doesn’t deserve it at THEIR private expense? Well, WHAT’S THE BOTHER? It is THEIR Money. It is THEIR state. And if the sacrifices of those who fought to preserve the Union mean ANYTHING, it is that the Union and the Constitution give states Rights that they can and should use. The NAACP is happy to petition all they want (and I might even support the devils in a few measures). But it will be done Or Not by The Book. And The States.

And that’s just from the pesky, “people should actually be able to use their rights” side of me.

From a historical side, I think there’s something very, very ugly with this mindset. Drew hit the nail right on the head about how totalitarian it is. How much sense would it make if we tried to destroy the memory and public markers of everybody who fought and lost (every Britishman or Loyalist who fought the Revolution? Or the decades of Britishmen prior at a time when the Colonies were British)?

That would be disturbing. And this is the same. Literally trying to destroy parts of history just because it offends you, to the point where even the dead cannot escape. That is..something else. Even Barry’s own INDONESIA doesn’t do this crap to itself.

And make no mistake about it, the Confederacy and Antebellum South were horrible periods in our nation’s history.

But they WERE periods in our nation’s history, and vitally important ones.

The leader of our fight for independence and the first POTUS was a Southern slaveholder. Our Third President, writer of the Declaration of Independence, and framer of the Constitution was a Southern Slaveholder. Virginia was our largest and most populous state at the time of Bunker Hill. A major drive for our expansion across the continent was the slaveholding South’s need for fresh land. All of this and more helped make us- the US- who we are today, for GOOD as WELL as bad.

It is a Part Of US that cannot just be sandblasted away. The Confederate leadership tried and FAILED. Why let someone else try it again?

Also, I want to emphasize something I found especially retarded.

“The heritage we should be celebrating is the U.S. heritage. We’re not a separate nation,”

Of ALL the justifications he could have give- some of which I might’ve even been sympathetic to- he had to pick this?

Newsflash. We Do celebrate separate nations. Columbus Day is still a Holiday, even though we are far more of a separate nation from Spain or the Republic of Genoa than we were from South Carolina.

We do it because we believe that those nations- and people affiliated with them- did play a major role in our heritage. For both good and evil. So why not cover a major effort by treasonous American citizens that played a major role in where our nation is?

Rose said in a phone interview with The Times on Tuesday that “symbols demonstrate people’s mindset. They mean something. There are monuments all over the South… that were erected to demonstrate and celebrate white supremacy.”

Or MAYBE- just MAAAYBE- it has something to do with how Georgia got ripped a new arsehole in the Civil War, and people wanted to memorialize their dead, those who led them, and the destruction?

Yes, granted. In a cause that was anchored on White Supremacy. But so what? Do we go out of our way to vilify every single German Soldier who had their house caved in by Allied bombers or was conscripted into the Wehrmacht because they fought to support a cause anchored on White Supremacy and Far Worse Things?

Even that comparison does a disservice to the Confederacy. While I am one of the most vocal and bitter critics of it you will find, I will admit it was Not Nazi Germany. It was repressive, racist, and corrupt, sure. But it was not totalitarian or genocidal.

I do not justify or defend Georgia’s choice to side with traitors. I believe Sherman’s handling of the situation was quite appropriate and will be the first to defend him.

But this is beyond the “not commemorating slavery” fig leaf; this monstrously spiteful. It is trying to remove Georgia’s ability to commemorate Its’ War. Its’ Suffering. Its’ Dead. And why they did it (both good and evil). And THAT is inhuman.

Yes, the Confederate Battle Flag served as a standard for very evil causes.

Yes, William Bedford Forrest was- by any account- a massively racist war criminal who founded the KKK (though he BROKE with them when they became a terrorist outfit because he felt they should struggle peacefully… how MLK of him?).

Yes, Jackson and Lee and Davis caused this nation grief in ways that cannot be overlooked.

But that DOES NOT justify all this.

NOTHING could.

“History reminds us that despite the hero status accorded to Robert E. Lee, the West Point educated Lee was a traitor who led the military effort of the breakaway states, including Georgia.”

Here’s the thing.

Traitor to who?

Lee was one of the moderates (as was Jackson and Davis, ironically). He despised the cause the Confederacy was created for. He was a decorated American hero. And by all accounts he was a brilliant and noble commander and person to enemy and ally alike.

But he was forced to decide between siding with committing treason against the US or committing treason against Virginia.

He chose the former. I believe he chose wrong. But he did it because he believed Virginia was his country; his homeland. Sandblasting that issue does nobody any good. And the mere fact that people feel inclined to do it says something very disturbing about how America is being conceived of.

On a lighter note.... if anyone’s interested, here’s a link where you can download one of the greatest Civil War strategy games ever made. It’s a fair bit to chew off, but it is about as deep as you could ask for. Hope you guys enjoy.

And this from MARK

Further info:

The War of Northern Aggression was not about slavery. We’ll let Lincoln speak for himself:

“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.” – Abraham Lincoln

On the Emancipation Proclamation:

“I view the matter as a practical war measure, to be decided upon according to the advantages or disadvantages it may offer to the suppression of the rebellion.” A. Lincoln

And, as Lincoln’s own secretary of state, William Seward, said of the Emancipation:

“We show our sympathy with slavery by emancipating slaves where we cannot reach them and holding them in bondage where we can set them free.”

The Emancipation only included those slaves held in the South, not the states loyal to the North.

Now, let’s get to the real reason why the South seceded:

Throughout most of our history in the USA, the only sources of federal revenue were excise taxes and tariffs. During the 1850s, tariffs amounted to 90 percent of federal revenue. Southern ports paid 75 percent of tariffs in 1859. And since the South exported/imported 80 percent of the nations goods, the South payed the brunt of feeding the North. To top that off, Lincoln and congress, made up of mostly Northerners, passed the Morrill Tariff Act, which raised import taxes on the South from 20 percent, to 40 percent. How much of that tax revenue do you think went back South, rather than being spent almost entirely on the North?

And by the way, how about the overwhelming 66% vote by the Northern controlled U. S. Congress on the Northern Permanent Slavery Amendment?

The fact is folks, Lincoln didn’t give a damn about slavery, both in the North and the South. Slavery BECAME politically expedient to him and the Northern industrialists (and to appease Europe) to bring back the South into the Union… after all, what politician in his right mind would let 75 percent of it revenue go?

So now we have SJW’s using the flag as a politically expediently tool to demonize, based on lies and ignorance, to destroy an American culture.

And they will not stop until everything that is good in America, your freedom and liberty, is under the thumb of their god.

What a gas

The propane tanks on your gas grill have an expiration date.  I didn’t know that! They’re good for 12 years from when they were made, and after that they have to be either recycled or recertified.

I used up the tank I got at the Exxon exchange this Spring. Took it down to the car wash, who also does propane cylinders, and the guy shows me how it’s 16 years ol. Made in 1999, it’s 4 years out of code. And he won’t refill it.

So what to do?

“Take it up the hill to Wal-mart. Get an exchange tank from their Blue Rhino bin. They’ll take your old tank, they don’t care.”

And he’s right, they did, and they didn’t care a jot. Of course, I didn’t say anything about code dates. I just asked for an exchange. And when I came back out after paying, she had one in the cart for me. So I looked.

“Oh miss? This tank is out of code. Can I have one that’s still valid?”

I’m such a bastard. So we looked around, and nearly all the tanks they have are out of code, but I did find one that was only 2 years old. Fine by me. Snagged it.

I’ve read that the old tanks can be recertified, and that such a process gets the tank a special sticker, and that the re-cert is only good for 5 years. I didn’t notice any re-cert sticker, not that I know what one would look like.

I did notice that the new tank was stamped WC 47.6, which means the whole thing filled up will hold 47.6 pounds of water ( @ 8.33lb/gal, thus it’s a 5.71 gal tank ), so it can safely hold 20lb of propane at the 80% full “safety margin” level. 80% of 5.71 gallons is 4.57 gallons, and propane weighs 4.24 lb/gal, which yields 4.57 X 4.24 = 19.37lb, which is close enough. Much more than the 17lb the refill guy puts in, and FAR MORE than the pitiful 15lb the Blue Rhino people fill the tanks with.

Oddly ... conspiracy theory time ... Wal-mart’s $17.76 price for 15 pounds is hardly a penny a pound different from the $20 the car wash guys charge for their 17lb charge they sell you as “20lb”.

Got home, hung the tank up on the scale thingy inside the grill, and it shows the tank is less than 3/4 full.

Frankly, it’s not a matter of saving a quarter or so trying to get the best price. It’s my resistance against unnecessary downsizing; the damn tanks were built to hold 20lb of propane, and that’s WITH the 20% expansion safety margin, and WITH the silly little OPD float valve gizmo they now stick inside. A full tank lets me grill for 1/3 longer. That’s at least an extra weekend or two before I have to schlepp around trying to find a better dealer.

More info on BBQ propane tanks here. I gather the way to get your money’s worth is to have the refill attendant fill the tank until the OPD valve clicks, because it is set to government standards and trips when the tank is 80% full. And you get almost the full 20 pounds. Good enough.

image
Fill it up until the valve shuts. That’s what’s it’s there for.

I’ve Got The Urge To Purge

Terrorist Named Mohammed Kills 4 Unarmed US Marines In 2 Locations In Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing four Marines and wounding two other service members and a police officer, officials told CBS News.

The shooter also was killed. Law enforcement sources told CBS News that the shooting suspect was identified as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. According to a U.S. law enforcement source, Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait and came to the United States in 1996. It’s unclear if and when he became an American citizen.

A U.S. official told CBS News that Abdulazeez was not on law enforcement radar concerning possible terror links or aspirations. The FBI was not aware of him as being any kind of threat.

At a news conference late Thursday night, Reinhold said so far, investigators had not uncovered evidence linking Abdulazeez with any international terror groups. He said there was “no indication” that anyone else was involved in the attack.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch directed the FBI to take the lead on a “national security” investigation into the shootings, which she called a “heinous attack.”

“Today was a nightmare for the city of Chattanooga,” Mayor Andy Berke said. “As a city, we will respond to this with every available resource that we have.”

U.S. Attorney Bill Killian said officials were treating the attacks as an “act of domestic terrorism,” though the FBI’s Reinhold said authorities were still investigating a motive. The first shooting happened around 10:45 a.m.; the attacks were over within a half-hour.

Berke said five people died in all, including the gunman.

So the perp does a drive-by on a joint services recruiting station and fires an entire box of ammo through the walls and windows. Wounds two. Then he drives across town to a Navy work center and engages in a 20 minute fusillade until cops shoot him. 4 dead. Who is this guy?

The man authorities say killed four U.S. Marines when he attacked two military sites in Chattanooga, Tenn. was a practicing Muslim who reportedly showed signs of becoming increasingly devout in recent weeks.

Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, 24, was shot and killed by police after he allegedly attacked the Marines at the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center at around 11 a.m. Thursday. Before attacking the military center, police say Abdulazeez sprayed an Armed Forces recruiting center seven miles away with bullets, leaving a police officer with a non-life threatening ankle wound.

“While it would be premature to speculate on the motives of the shooter at this time, we will conduct a thorough investigation of this tragedy and provide updates as they are available,” an FBI official told Fox News, hours after the deadly attack.

So, an imported sleeper agent? An Al Qaida mole or ISIS assassin? No. A naturalized American citizen, lived here at least 15 years, college graduate. Currently employed? He had every advantage, and had everything going for him.

According to the Times, Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait to a family of Jordanians. A federal official told the paper that Abdulazeez had become a naturalized American citizen, though it is not clear when. Abdulazeez grew up in a middle-class suburban subdivision just across the Tennessee River from Chattanooga itself. ... since at least 2001 ... Mohammed Abdulazeez graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and was a student intern a few years ago at the Tennessee Valley Authority, the federally owned utility that operates power plants and dams across the South.

What a terrible thing to have to wonder, if every Muslim in the country is/isn’t/could be a murdering terrorist tomorrow, driven to kill by their faith. I think maybe it’s time to change that faith.

And for goodness sake, why are there still unarmed Marines?

so, is this a good idea? or the usual political vote hunt?  gosh, lets see.

I am certain there are any number of young people, of teens, who are pretty savvy and read more than the latest celeb. rags.
But I also very much doubt that’s true of a majority. One thing they do have in common is idealism in the same foolish was many of us did as teens.
I don’t know about you but when I was 15 I already knew everything and most ancients of 30 years had it all wrong.
Overall tho, I was more interested in baseball and especially the farm teams locally.  The Htfd. Chiefs (?) were the training grounds for the Boston Braves, and we had one other team I just can’t recall at the moment.  It’s been so long ago.
But that was far more interesting than boring politics and income tax, which we didn’t pay anyway.
I guess times and attitudes have changed but not too sure todays crop is overall any more qualified than we were.
I could be wrong.

What I do believe is that the folks who are hot to stay in the EU, are counting on the very young who do travel and do have exposure to Europe, will be more prone to vote to stay in, if they are allowed to vote in that referendum in another couple of years.

Votes for 16 and 17-year-olds has been given a boost

By Greg Dawson Newsbeat politics reporter

The campaign to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in elections has been given a small boost.

Liberal Democrat and Labour politicians have approved a measure in the House of Lords to lower the voting age for local council elections in England and Wales.

The plan is likely be defeated by the Conservative government in the House of Commons.
David Cameron is against lowering the voting age from 18.

However, pressure to change the rules has grown since 16-year-olds were allowed to vote in the Scottish Independence referendum in 2014. In June, 16 year-olds were given the right to vote in all Scottish and local government elections.

The Lords vote adds further pressure to the campaign to allow votes at 16 in future general elections and the forthcoming referendum on whether the UK should remain in the European Union.

have you seen this mouse? avoid but notify the Mounties. they always get their ……

Yes it’s crime. But I could not help but find it funny.

I’ll also be honest. I had this yesterday, have spent some time bedridden, back is out badly so no posts and no desire.
But I had to be up, caught this and thought I just had to post it. But .... I also saw Drew’s post on my flag (CSA) and boyhood hero in Tn and the planned removal of graves etc., became so depressed I couldn’t post this. I had to give it space. I guess for me personally it hits deeper to the bone and I just need to do something else.

Hell of a way to introduce something funny. Sorry folks.

Canadian police launch man hunt after robber steals from shop wearing mouse head

image

Usually when police ask for help when identifying wanted criminals, they ask the public to take a good look at slightly blurry CCTV images in order to name the suspects.

In Canada however, Crime Stoppers and the Barrie Police Service are asking people to “take a really good look the suspect’s clothing.” That’s because an armed and dangerous robber was wearing a giant mouse’s head when robbing a store in Barrie, Ontario.

Store CCTV shows the man, clad all in black, brandishing a knife and not wearing any shoes, entering the shop and walking straight to the counter. He demands money from the store worker, who complies, before the suspect leaves the shop.

Oh get a life already

Ancient Golden Sacrifice To The Gods!!

image

A pile of 2,000 tangled gold spirals that bring to mind heaps of the fairy tale princess Rapunzel’s golden locks were recently unearthed in Denmark.

Archaeologists discovered the 3,000-year-old delicate, glittering coils — each one measuring up to 1.2 inches long — in the town of Boeslunde, on the Danish Island of Zealand, which hosts almost half of Denmark’s population.

Like Rapunzel’s magical locks, the Bronze Age gold spirals may have had a sun-derived power, the archaeologists said. “The sun was one of the most sacred symbols in the Bronze Age and gold had a special magic,” Flemming Kaul, a curator at The National Museum of Denmark who co-discovered the gold, said in a statement that was translated from the original Danish. [See Photos of the Newly Discovered Gold Spirals]

Although the spirals’ original use is unknown, it’s possible they adorned cords that decorated hats and parasols, Kaul said. “The fact is that we do not know, but I tend to believe they were part of a priest king’s costume or headwear,” he said.

It’s possible the priest king decked himself in gold, embellishing his cloak and hat with the spirals. “Gold has the color of the sun, it is shining like the sun, and it is indestructible, immortal and eternal,” Kaul said. The priest king may have sacrificed his treasure to the sun during rituals, and kept the gold safe in a wooden box when he was feeling less reverential, he added.

Riight. On the other hand ...

how to screw your country in one easy lesson

Just what this country needs. More vermin from the sewers of the turd world.

It isn’t my country, but I am damn certain there are enough left wing, libtard ass-wipes in the USA with visions of “closer ties” to the EU. That is, even closer than the present.  As for this country, I despair.  I don’t trust the folks who are supposed to be conservatives, I think if the majority of the population is upset and damn well worried, they aren’t making the loudest noises either.  They are not in control of their own country. I greatly fear the UK will remain in the EU after the 2017 referendum, and that folks will really be the nail in the coffin just ready and waiting to be filled.

The sort of migrants trying to get here are mostly filth. They are scum and can contribute nothing of any real value.  They will produce offspring who will generally be no better than their parents, many of whom won’t even be known to them. They will take up the careers and carry on the family traditions of rape and plunder and killing and it’ll all be the white guys fault. Those few whites that are left.
Btw …. London is no longer a white majority population.

Recently I was foolish enough to get into a debate of sorts with a lib. Yeah I know. Should have known better.  An American I’ve known for some time but just never got into these sorts of discussions with. And the thing is, the views expressed are exactly what they say here on this side of the world.

There’s a young Pakistani girl named Malala who wanted an education and was one of several who were shot by the Taliban a few years ago.  Her claim to fame aside from I think the Peace Prize (?) was getting shot in the head and left for dead.  She somehow survived and was brought to England where she went through multiple operations and was saved.  She’s a bright kid and has become some sort of spokesperson.  Now this shows ya how outta touch even someone like her can be hanging out with libtards.

In a recent address to I don’t know exactly who, some gathering, she was critical of the violence used to combat terrorism as she says what’s needed is books not bullets.

Do I need to add anything here?

Soft EU rules let 265,000 move here: Foreign nationals from outside Europe are getting citizenship elsewhere before using laws to travel to the UK
· 78,000 non-Europeans with EU citizenship employed in Britain in 2004

· By 2015 Oxford University figures show number has risen to 264,000
· Increasing flow could become a back door to Britain, say MigrationWatch

By Ian Drury Home Affairs Correspondent For The Daily Mail

Hundreds of thousands of migrants are taking advantage of soft European Union rules to get jobs in Britain by the back door.
Foreign nationals from outside Europe who would struggle to secure a visa to work in the UK have instead got citizenship elsewhere in the EU.

Under Brussels regulations, they can then move to Britain and apply for employment.

A report has found that the number of EU passport-holders born elsewhere in the world - including Africa, Asia and South America - but now working in the UK had tripled in just a decade.

The University of Oxford’s Migration Observatory found that there were 78,000 non-Europeans with EU citizenship employed in Britain in 2004. But by the beginning of 2015, this had soared to 264,000.

The figures will be another painful blow for David Cameron who had pledged to get tough by reducing net migration – people coming in to the UK minus those leaving – to ‘tens of thousands’ a year only to see it hit nearly 300,000 in May.

Last night Lord Green of Deddington, chairman of MigrationWatch, which campaigns for managed migration, said: ‘It is significant that the numbers have almost trebled in ten years.

‘The issue of passports is the responsibility of the individual EU countries and these passports carry with them the full right to free movement.

‘It follows, therefore, that this increasing flow could become a back door to Britain. This development strengthens the case for finding some means of controlling access to the UK by EU migrants.’

The vast majority of EU citizens who were born outside Europe were given their passports in countries that joined the union before its enlargement to take in former Eastern Bloc nations in 2004.

Oh yeah, just so we’re absolutely clear here.  It isn’t just the blacks alone who are a problem and source of mayhem.  It’s a rather long list but the bottom line is ..... they are here, and many more are on their way.  Everyday.
