The 600 Pound Gorilla

A UN spokesman thinks the US is an “ungainly giant” who doesn’t play nice in the world sandbox ....

NEW YORK (AP) - Secretary General Kofi Annan’s chief of staff called the United States an “ungainly giant” that only plays by its own rules, criticizing the U.N.’s largest donor in unusually strong terms Sunday.

Mark Malloch Brown said the U.S. contributed most to the development of international law in the last century, but was now the country most opposed to international constraints.

“This ungainly giant of a nation that has led the world in advancing freedom, democracy and decency, cannot quite accept membership in the global neighborhood association, and the principle of all neighborhoods - that it must abide by others’ rules as well as its own,” Malloch Brown said at the commencement address to Pace University law students.

Malloch Brown’s comments, provided to The Associated Press by the university, were unusually forceful for an organization whose leaders tend to abide by an unwritten rule of not criticizing member nations.

That “unwritten rule” has never stopped the UN from bashing the US and if Brown is referring to Sudan’s treatment of blacks or Castro’s treatment of dissidents when he speaks of “other’s rules”, then he can kiss my a**. I’ll be damned if I’ll live by Iran’s rules or any other of the member nations who participate in genocide, murder, pillage, world conquest, rape and all the other assorted “rules” most of them live by. No thanks, I’d rather the US remain the “600 pound gorilla” in this jungle. And the UN can remain the “laughing hyena” that it is.

Grrrrr

Question: What do you get when you combine the New York Times, a French “special representative of the UN” and a 2,000 page report on Afghanistan published by the US Army?

Answer: Another reason to nuke France, burn the UN building to the ground and blow up the NY Times offices.

KABUL (Reuters) - A report of U.S. military abuse of detainees in Afghanistan is deeply disturbing and those involved should be punished, the United Nations said on Sunday.

The abuse, including details of the deaths of two inmates at an Afghan detention center, took place in 2002 and emerged from a nearly 2,000-page file of U.S. Army investigators, The New York Times said on Friday.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai, speaking before leaving on a U.S. trip, said on Saturday he was shocked and was demanding action against the culprits as well as custody of Afghan prisoners and supervision of U.S. military searches.

Jean Arnault, special representative of the U.N. secretary-general in Afghanistan, said the abuse reported in the New York Times was unacceptable and an affront to everything the international community stood for.

“The gravity of these abuses calls for the punishment of all those involved in such inexcusable crimes, as demanded by President Karzai,” Arnault said in a statement.

Arnault said steps taken since 2002 to eradicate mistreatment and improve conditions should be made public. Complaints that continue to be made of arbitrary arrest and detention without charge should be fully addressed, he said.

Hit Them Where It Hurts

About every hundred years, someone in Congress comes up with a brilliant idea. That time has come. Congressman Henry Hyde (R-IL) has put forth a bill that would tie US dues to the United Nations to UN reforms. In other words, if the UN doesn’t get its act together we’ll withhold our dues. Koffing Anus and his third-world US-bashing buddies can play their oil-for-food games but they won’t be able to do it on our dime. Damn, I like this idea ....

UNITED NATIONS - A U.S. congressional committee has drafted a bill that threatens to withhold tens of millions of dollars in dues from the United Nations unless the world body conducts wide-ranging reforms, possibly setting the stage for a funding battle like the one that plunged the U.N. into financial crisis a decade ago.

The “United Nations Reform Act of 2005” targets a panoply of issues that have troubled critics of the United Nations, particularly Republicans, for years. Among other things, it would seek to cut funding for programs seen as useless and bar human rights violators from serving on U.N. human rights bodies.

The 80-page bill, from Illinois Republican Henry Hyde’s House International Relations Committee, is still in an early form and has only recently been distributed to Democrats, who are likely to oppose several elements. It was sent to a few U.N. officials Thursday night, when a copy was obtained by The Associated Press.

One of the bill’s most controversial proposals will be linking dues to the changes it spells out. The document stipulates that if the reforms are not carried out, Congress will withhold 50 percent of U.S. dues to the U.N. general budget, taking the money from programs it deems inefficient and wasteful.

“No observer, be they passionate supporter or dismissive critic, can pretend that the current structure and operations of the U.N. represent an acceptable standard,” Hyde said in a hearing on U.N. reform before the document was sent to a few U.N. officials.

An Open Letter To Senate Democrats

I just received a copy of this letter sent to the Senate confirmation committee whose Democrat members are experiencing a severe case of “anal retention” over the nomination of John Bolton to be UN Ambassador. Maybe this will provide the Ex-Lax they need ....

Dear Senators, Girlie-Men and Girlie-Girl:

I am very concerned about the nomination of John Bolton and, for the sake of the future of the United Nations, I feel it is my duty to share my misgivings with all of you.  You must vote “no” on the John Bolton nomination.  Haven’t the criminals at the United Nations suffered enough since they lost the Oil-For-Food income without the United States causing further pain by exposing murderous thugs from all over the world to a “meanie?” We are a compassionate nation and that just wouldn’t be fair, would it?  Also, how on earth will the UN peacekeepers be able to continue raping young girls under their protection in the Congo if an American meanie is running amok at the United Nations?  That just can’t be allowed in the 21st century!  As Americans, we need to be more tolerant of murderous dictators and pedophile peacekeepers.

As for the woman who said that Mr. Bolton pushed her or tripped her or chased her at some hotel during World War I, she must be a very strong woman to have survived such a terrifying ordeal.  Was she wearing a blue dress at the time?  O.J. Simpson used to run through airports and look what happened to him.  I don’t know if I could ever stay in another hotel if something like that happened to me.  Did she file suit against Mr. Bolton for sexual harassment?  I know I would have.

I know that you think this letter is ridiculous, but I assure you it isn’t half as ridiculous as the way your committee has been behaving over the last few weeks.  Is it the goal of your committee to see how much time and taxpayer money that you can get away with wasting on this foolishness?  Why not try Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey?  In fact, they will be in Hershey, PA, from May 25 - May 30.  It may not be quite as entertaining to you, (or to me, for that matter), but it certainly wouldn’t waste as much time or taxpayer money as your shenanigans have been.  Just think about it, with the money you would save, each of you could bring underprivileged children from your state with you.

I will be the first to admit that it has been quite entertaining to watch some of you try to stifle your glee while pretending that each new “Meanie-Gate” accusation is a serious matter.  Please accept my apology if I am unable to comprehend the magnitude of a “meanie,” but I am usually too distracted by my own hysterical laughter.  As for the woman from the hotel, somebody needs to tell her that it’s tough out there in the real world.  A little jog through a hotel while being chased by a “meanie” is good exercise.  If she is unable to handle a little confrontation, then maybe she needs to go back to the kitchen where she belongs.

Sincerely,
A U.S. Taxpayer

(-- thanks to Renee)

Koffing Anus Daily Update

UN head-honcho Koffing Anus announced today that he wants to limit the spread of nuclear weapons, naming the US and Russia as the place to start. Anus didn’t mention growing threats from North Korea or Iran. I wonder how much the Mad Mullahs and Dear Leader are paying Big Anus and his son (Little Anus) to pull this crap out of their butt and get the UN to go along?

Where are the nukes? Well, let’s see ....

imageNote:

  • The US is also said to have some 3,000 warheads in reserve, while Russia has about 11,000 in non-operational stockpiles

  • Israel declines to confirm it has nuclear weapons

  • North Korea claims it has nuclear arms but no details are available

  • Iran is accused by the US of ambitions to build nuclear arms

Animal Farm

“All animals are equal .. some more so than others”.

At least that is what Snowball, the Pig said in the famous book (I think I have the quote correct). We now have Animal Farm on the loose in the Mideast. As you all know, the Syrians have finally completed their pullout from Lebanon (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). Now, the United Nations, in the person of Koffing Anus, has decided in its infinite wisdom (cough, cough) to verify that the Syrians have indeed pulled out.

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - The United Nations said it would await verification that Syria has pulled out of Lebanon, while acknowledging that other moves demanded by the Security Council have not yet taken place.

In a report released hours after Syria declared its 29-year troop presence in Lebanon was over, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said the claim would be tested by a team of military experts who arrived in Damascus on Tuesday.

The team “will report to me and complete its work as soon as possible,” Annan said, adding that no progress had been made on other key provisions of Security Council Resolution 1559.

Pause: After typing the above and reading it back to myself, I descended into a paroxysm of coughing, insane giggling and shortness of breath. I’ll be alright in a few seconds ..........

Continue: Now, it seems to me that the Fox claims to have left the Hen House and the Hyena is going to verify that fact for all the other animals. What is sad is the Hyena lives in the House Of The Eagle and half the Eagles will believe anything the Hyena tells them. Stoopid birds. Meanwhile, the Buzzards in Europe are in collusion with the Hyena because they hate the Eagles. The poor Monkeys in Africa are still suffering from the Hyena’s most recent visits and the Rats in the Middle East are selling Cheese dearly to all of them. Got all that? Remember, don’t feed the animals .... except the Eagles (they’re the good guys). To hell with the Hyena.

Help Wanted: Hotheaded UN Ambassador

Every once in a while James Taranto at the WSJ’s Opinion Journal throws out one that literally tickles my funny bone. Here is his latest on the Bolton controversy and the Dems fight to stop him from being UN Ambassador because his manner is so “ascerbic” toward the UN ....

Pat Moynihan, Hothead

MediaMatters.org threw a fit last month: “Media Conservatives Misrepresent Moynihan to support Bolton Nomination.” According to MM, John Bolton, the U.N. ambassador-designate, is not similar enough to the late Pat Moynihan, who held that job during the Ford administration. Moynihan later wrote a book about his time at the U.N., “A Dangerous Place”, and here’s how a review in the Dec. 18, 1978, Time magazine began:

Daniel Patrick Moynihan was the most controversial and explosive U.S. ambassador ever appointed to the U.N. During eight stormy months in the post in 1975-76, he bruised so many feelings that a scandalized delegate said his colleagues were in “positive dread of his manners, his language and his abuse.” The delegates will not be any happier with the ex-ambassador’s account of his U.N. days.

If it’s another Moynihan we want, we’d better find someone who’s a real hothead. Any suggestions?

Uhhhhhhh, the name John Bolton does come to mind, don’t it ....?

I Feel Safer Already

!!NEWS FLASH!!

You heard it here first! The United Nations has passed a resolution making it illegal for terrorists to use nuclear weapons.

If you think it was hard to read that sentence above without busting out laughing so hard that you pee’ed your underwear, think about how hard it was for me to type it. Even as I speak, my keyboard is smirking at me and insane little giggles are coming from my mouse. I can just picture Kofi and Friends congratulating themselves and patting each other on the back then rushing out for drinks after this momentous act.

You’ll never know the sacrifices I make for this blog. Pardon me while I go change my underwear ....

From The Blindingly Obvious Dept.

Not only is this proposal one that fits into the “it’s so blindingly obvious you’d need nuclear-blast type sunglasses to keep from losing your eyesight” but it is too little, too late, I am afraid from the leader of a world body that no longer has any credibility.

You’re going to love this: the Koffing Anus at the UN is telling the world that UN credibility is being hurt by the conduct of the UN Human Rights Commission.

Ya’ think, Kofi?  Really!?!?!

With countries like Libya being put in charge?  With countries like Syria, the Sudan and Zimabawe on the commission?  You think there just MIGHT be any correlation?

You piece of crap.  You vile, disgusting worm-like creature pretending to be a human being interested in the welfare of those less fortunate around the globe.  Why don’t you just kill yourself and spare us any more of your tortured anguishes and agonizings.

Law Of The Sea

A few weeks ago I wrote about the Law of the Sea (L.O.S.T.) treaty about to be passed into law.

I encouraged you to write your Senators.

Our reader, Valgerd, did.  Read what Senator Lugar sent her.

Here’s the original article that started all this.

Hmmm, now I am not sure WHO to believe.  He makes a positive argument for it.  One thing is certain, if this treaty has provisions in it for us to be taxed and revenues to be sent to the UN, I am against it.

A Win For The Good Guys

This is good news!  A doctor who worked at the UN wrote a book criticizing it.  He got fired.

The case was considered one of whistle-blowing and he sued.

He won.

Back pay.

And a promotion!

You know that has to piss off the Koffing Anus.

More Koffing Anus News

As pointed out so eloquently by James Taranto and crew this morning, it really does make you wonder sometimes.

Yesterday I posted about how the Koffing Anus was depressed.  I cited a WND article.

Well, here’s another one from The Times in the UK.

They say basically the same thing except the UK paper has this:

Depending on the findings of the report, by a team led by the former US Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker, Annan may have to choose between the secretary-generalship and loyalty to his son.

Did you catch that?  He may have to choose between his job and his son.  How compassionate sounding.  How so in touch with personal feelings.  For a thief.  For a man responsible for the deaths of thousands, maybe tens of thousands from lack of food and medical care because his people allowed corruption to take place.  For a man whose peacekeepers abuse and rape and torture women.

Poor Kofi.  Having to make such hard decisions..........stay on and watch the organization he’s in charge of systematically coddle tyrants and dictators while at the same time fielding personnel who are chosen for favoritism resulting in the deaths of thousands----or---his son.

But he represents the UN and that’s an organization no one can criticize.  So it’s written as if we should pity him, the poor beleaguered Secretary General.

But let one CEO from Enron, Worldcom or Tyco siphon money away from their companies and the media portrays these men as the worst terrorists and tyrants in the world.  They are vilified daily.  Screams for their heads resound from every media outlet.  Yet, it’s funny how they killed no one.  Nor raped.  Nor tortured.  Nor abuse women and children.

But Kofi Anna.  Poor, poor Kofi.  Having to decide between family and job.

More UN News

Thanks to reader, Phil, I have this wonderful little snippet about UN peacekeepers.

We’ve all heard about them, right?  That staunch, upright pillar of the UN organization responsible for keeping the peace around the world?  Yep!!  The same ones that rape, beat and terrorize women and children throughout the world.  yeah, those guys.

Well, we need to get the word out that if anyone is in a part of the world where UN Peacekeepers might be present, not only should you guard your women and children but you should also HIDE YOUR GOATS!!!

Yessirree, Bob!  We have a tendency to call the people from the Mid-East smelly goat fuckers but it is true:

in early 2001, two Jordanians were evacuated home with injured penises after attempting sexual intercourse with goats.

I have nothing more to say.
