Here’s a couple of totally worthless young thugs who do a thing like this while other young men are serving their country in the most difficult circumstances.  And lets be honest here.  Anyone actually believe that LIFE really means that?

A father-of-two was beaten to death by a gang of drunken thugs just minutes after police told him they were too busy to help.

James Straiton, 59, and his neighbours dialled 999 six times after being threatened in their own homes by the gang.

But police operators said the force was experiencing a ‘high volume’ of calls and suggested they call a non-emergency number.

Tragedy struck when Mr Straiton, a taxi driver, decided to leave his flat and chase the thugs away himself.

Once outside in the street he was repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on in an horrific and frenzied attack.

Two men, one 6ft 4in tall, jumped and stamped on his head leaving Mr Straiton unconscious on the ground with horrendous head injuries.

The father-of-two suffered a brain haemorrhage, damaged neck vertebrae, fractures to his face, arm, and three broken ribs.

He was found by police lying in a pool of blood and rushed to hospital before being transferred to a specialist neurology unit where he died two weeks later.

Today Joshua Spruce and 6ft 4in Nigel Goolding, both 20 of Northwich, wept when they were convicted of murder at Chester Crown Court.

Paul Blower, also 20, who was also at the scene but did not take part in the attack was acquitted.

The court was told a high-level inquiry had been launched into the police handing of the 999 calls on the night of the murder.

His brother, Edward Straiton, said: ‘I went to see him in hospital where he was so bad that I didn’t even recognise him initially.

‘He had never been an aggressive man. I had never known him to be in a fight, he was just always laughing and joking.’

In a statement his family said: ‘As a family we feel that this incident could have been avoided and is a sad indictment of the society we now live in whereby young men seem to think that it is perfectly acceptable to behave in this way after going for a night out, drinking too much, sometimes taking drugs, and ending the evening by beating someone unrecognisable.

‘Their selfish disregard for others has not only ruined our lives but also has far reaching effects on all the families involved in this pointless act of violence.’

The court heard the incident had happened on July 26 last year when the yobs walked home after attending a 40th birthday party in the Winnington Recreation Club, near Northwich in Cheshire.

They had each drunk between five and eight pints of beer and were staggering home making a lot of noise.

Mr Straiton, who lived alone, opened his window to ask them to be quiet but they rushed towards his window and began banging on it and hurling abuse.

Mr Straiton and neighbours then made six calls to Cheshire Police appealing for officers to come down and help.

One woman called 999 twice, the first at 1.11am telling the operator ‘Something quite nasty is going off.’

In another call she was audibly tearful as she said there was a disturbance adding: ‘I’m too frightened to look out the window. They’re trying to get into his flat or get him to come outside.’

Mr Straiton - known as Jock - then made two 999 calls saying the men had climbed over a fence into the apartment complex and telling the operator he felt threatened.

So the bastards cried? Oh boo-hoo. Feeling sorry for themselves although I’ve no idea why. They’ll get out of jail at a youngish age.  All their needs seen to and meals etc. Scum is what they are and the system here sucks.

This is a despicable crime. How many more people have to die before we are allowed access to guns so that we can defend ourselves against violent thugs like these, especially when it’s clear that the police are no longer up to the job.

It stuns me that more and more people are dying from violent assaults and yet there are still individuals out there who believe that we should denied the means to protect ourselves in the best way possible.

They also seem to feel that leaving us defenceless is actually the best way of keeping us safe - how exactly does that work ?

Every person has the inalienable right to self-defence and nobody, and I mean nobody, has the right to take that away.

Probably nothing. Ah but ... the 15 year old got life.  Which as we all know does NOT really mean life.

And now the one who was sent to jail and has served 11, we find had a day release so that she could get laid obviously because she is now pregnant.

Murderer in jail for 11 years gets pregnant during day release from prison

Lisa Healey was just 15 when she was jailed for murdering a 71-year-old widow in Lancashire in 1998.

A woman jailed for life for the brutal murder of a pensioner has become pregnant during day release from an open prison.

Lisa Healey is expected to give birth in the next few days after secret sex sessions with her boyfriend.

The 26-year-old, who has served 11 years of her sentence, will bring her child up in a mother-and-baby unit of Askham Grange Prison near York.

Healey was 15 when she and her 14-year-old friend Sarah Davey killed widow Lily Lilley in Failsworth, near Oldham, Lancs in 1998.

The girls, who had run away from home, befriended the lonely 71-year-old woman near her terraced home and after being invited in for a cup of tea turned her last hours into a living hell.

In what the judge described as ‘an act of unspeakable cruelty’ they taunted her, squirted her with shampoo and cut her legs with a long bladed knife.

After choking her to death with a gag tied so tightly her false teeth were driven down her throat, the girls crammed her body into a bin half full of rubbish, and threw in a framed photograph of her son as a baby along with her birth certificate.

Laughing and giggling, they trundled the bin through the streets and pushed it into a canal.

The girls used their victim’s house as their own, inviting local children in and using her pension money to buy crisps and chocolate.

They were finally caught, four days after moving in, when neighbours worried at seeing the door open and no sign of Mrs Lilley alerted police.

Left free to attack 71 women, number may reach 100 while another case as high as 200.

I have another reason for posting these crime stories beside the fact of awful blunders by what I now call The Keystone Kops.
I have always had this respect and you might even say a certain amount of awe, for people doing such an impossible job.  Not one I would ever want and if I did I wouldn’t have made the grade. 
Maybe it also stems from having kin (uncles) who were firemen and police.  But that was so long ago. That was in an age when calling a cop a name was NOT the accepted thing and could earn you a sharp clout.  And it would be deserved too.

But that was then and this crap is now.  More paperwork then ever before and criminals with more rights (it always seems) then the victimized public.
And blunders like this but it’s okay because the police said, “whoops, sorry.” Sorry.  Always sorry.  I have read that and heard that so often now that it’s lost all meaning.  It’s just something people are programed to say.  “Sorry.”
Now having said that, it still is not the entire reason for this posting.

Kirk Reid: serial sex predator left free to attack 71 woman after catalogue of blunders

Kirk Reid preyed on at least 71 women in a prolonged campaign of terror after police blunders meant he remained a free man years after being named a suspect.

Reid roamed the streets of south London late at night for 12 years, hunting down and pouncing on single women as they made their way home.
Scotland Yard was forced into making a rare apology for its failings as the case was passed to the Independent Police Complaints Commission - the second of its kind to be referred in two weeks.

Detectives had Reid’s DNA profile on file from 2001 and were soon given the make and registration of his car, linked to an assault.
But despite being alerted to the 44-year-old football referee three times, officers failed to piece the clues together for four years - meaning that dozens of women were attacked because of their inaction.

One long-serving Met police officer said: “These are impermissible failings. There is a lot of soul searching as we ask ourselves why and how this could have happened.”

In January 2008, the case files were finally passed to a Scotland Yard murder detective, who solved in three days the investigation that had faltered for eight years in the hands of a local rape unit in south London.

Police now fear Reid, a chef and referee in local Wandsworth leagues for children, women and men, could have attacked hundreds of women who have yet to come forward.
He now faces a lengthy prison sentence after being found guilty at Kingston Crown Court of
sexually attacking 25 women since 1995, two of whom he raped.

Timeline of missed opportunities
Here is a timeline of the missed opportunities to catch serial sex attacker Kirk Reid.

Aug 2000 - Sept 2002: Police are put on alert over a serial sex attacker after linking 26 assaults on women in the borough of Wandsworth, south west London.
Nov 2002: DNA recovered from two of the attacks is linked to give a profile of the suspect.

Dec 2002: Kirk Reid is stopped by a police officer after following a woman in the street. He is let go and not formally questioned. The police officer records that no crime was committed but submits an intelligence report on Reid.

Jan 2004: A member of the public gave police Reid’s car and licence plate details after claiming to have witnessed a sex attack in central London but the report was not followed up.

Feb 2004: Reid was stopped in the same car tooting at a woman. He became an official suspect in the sex attacks but no further action was taken to interview him or take a DNA swab.
2004-2008: Reid attacks at least 20 further women, taking the total amount to more than 70.

btw, Black Cab here is a taxi.  Used to be (might still. ?) the very top in cab service and the men who drove them took tests and in fact there were special courses.  Especially those driving in London.  A driver had to prove he really knew the city.  Wasn’t simply a matter in years past of just “getting a license.” I don’t know about now.  And the cabs themselves are really kind of special.  Not just an ordinary car with a meter. Very roomy and comfortable. And VERY clean.

Scotland Yard’s failure to catch serial sex attacker Kirk Reid until four years after he was identified as a suspect is one of a number of bungled investigations by police.

Just two weeks ago, it emerged that police had arrested and released black cab rapist John Worboys seven months before he was finally caught in February 2008. He was arrested in July 2007 after he had driven a 19-year-old student back to Greenwich University and attacked her.
Even though the police had a statement from the victim and CCTV footage placing Worboys at the scene, officers decided not to proceed with the case.

He went on to attack at least another seven women and it is feared he could have targeted as many as 40 women during that period. In total he is believed to have attacked more tham 200 women.

Like Reid, the Worboys case was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission to see what lessons could be learned.
Earlier this month, 22-year-old Karl Bishop was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of the Harry Potter actor Rob Knox.

It transpired that unemployed Bishop had a history of violent conduct stretching back to primary school and was known by police as a “habitual knife carrier”.
He served two years of a four-year sentence for slashing two men across the face with a knife and murdered Rob nine months after his release.

Two months before the killing, Knox was named as the suspect in a burglary and a knifepoint robbery but never arrested. The investigation was still “live” when he killed Rob.

The dead boy’s father Colin Knox said: “They admit they made a mistake.”
Last December, the police were forced to apologise to Colin Stagg after they finally convicted the right man for the murder of Rachel Nickell who was killed in 1992 on Wimbledon Common.

A female police officer had posed as a sexual deviant who tried to get Mr Stagg to confess in a “honey-trap”, which he failed to do.
The case against him was later thrown out by the judge who condemned police tactics.

It emerged that Miss Nickell’s life might have been spared had police tracked down the real killer, paranoid schizophrenic Robert Napper, several years earlier.

In 1989, Napper’s mother phoned police to tell them her son had confessed to raping a woman on Plumstead Common, but police never spoke to him or took a blood sample.

He was questioned over a number of suspected rapes shortly after Miss Nickell’s murder but again did not provide a blood sample which could have solved the crime.

The unspoken truth about our language.

Over the last few days I’ve been keeping up to date on the controversy surrounding the postmaster who refuses to serve people who either do not speak English or choose not to or come to his window without an interpretor.  He has taken to a country that’s given him opportunities not dreamed of where he came from.  Like many immigrants before him and in another age as well, he has become something of a patriot and says he and his wife will not speak any language but English at home and especially in front of their two children, who they want well grounded in the language of this country first. Which btw reminds me of my own grandparents who were bi-lingual.  It was English first and everything else after that. America first and there wasn’t anything else worth knowing about. But that’s another story and I only mention it here because I understand why they felt that way and became so dedicated to their adopted country.

So .... that brings me to the article that appear a day or two go ago by a lady named Jemima Lewis, who writes for the Telegraph.
She says a few things I had not seen in print before in just this way.
I thought you’d find her comments of some interest.

I might mention here that this may be my last post today as am having severe pc problems at the moment. Hope I can post this. we’ll see. We are also experiencing gale force winds at this time. If not, then it sure looks that way.

The Sri Lankan postmaster who banned customers who could not speak English has taken an important stand, says Jemima Lewis

Deva Kumarasiri has paid a heavy price for his patriotism. The Sri-Lankan-born postmaster has been forced to leave his job for refusing to serve customers who couldn’t speak decent English. His stance, he said, was partly a matter of principle. Mr Kumarasiri is passionate about his adopted country: he moved to Britain 18 years ago, has taken citizenship, taught his children the words of the National Anthem, and flies the Union flag in his front garden in Nottingham. “It’s about making the effort to be part of the community where you have decided to live,” he said.

It was also a practical issue – he didn’t want the queue grinding to a halt while each customer tried to make themselves understood.

Mr Kumarasiri, who is a Liberal Democrat councillor, feels it is his duty to say these things because the white, native-born Brits no longer dare. This, alas, is perfectly true. Living in east London, I often come across council officials or health workers whose English is so shaky, or so thickly accented, that it is impossible to have a meaningful conversation. But I am far too anxious not to seem rude, let alone racist, ever to complain.

When my son was born, we were visited a few times by a health visitor who spoke at length, in a kind of Bantu-cockney dialect impenetrable to all but the professional linguist, about how to avoid cot death. I nodded in what I hoped were the right places, then looked it up in a book. I have given up trying to get an appointment at the local GPs’ clinic because it is too embarrassing trying to make myself understood – repeatedly mouthing my request into the telephone as if it were an elderly dowager’s ear trumpet.

It’s not just a question of inconvenience; in some jobs, the inability to communicate effectively can be fatal. When my sister gave birth recently, she was attended by a midwife who could not speak English. My sister tried in vain to explain that she had been in labour for four days; that her waters had long since broken; that she knew something was wrong.

The midwife wrote some incomprehensible notes, and failed to pass on any of the relevant information. Both my sister and her baby almost died. Even then, no one was rude enough to complain.

DEFIANT POSTMASTER TRANSFERED ON MUSLIM COMPLAINTS, DROPPED FROM POL. PARTY TOO.

It’s late Sunday afternoon and there’s much to catch up on.

This update on the postmaster who insists ppl speak English.

Over here, a sub post office can be located in a small convenience store and that’s where our guy Deva worked.

Well, the muslim owner of the store claimed the English speaking Deva was hurting his business and asked the postal authorities to remove him.
They did.

The hero of our story says only five (muslims) complained and anyway he says people with language problems also hold up the line which is another reason for insisting on English. As well, he says if they can’t then they need to bring an interpreter with them.  He also says he asked to be transferred due to abuse and threats.  And we do know that is most likely true given muslim practice in the recent past.

The political party he belonged to has dropped him making two claims.

First, he is 18 months behind in party dues.  Now that ain’t a very good thing and doesn’t speak well I wouldn’t think of the postmaster.
HOWEVER ... the other reason given for dropping him is that his comments DO NOT REFLECT what they believe.  That is not an exact quote.

I do believe an awful lot of Brits will agree when I claim that this country has a very long history and especially over the past 30 or 40 years, of liberalism.  But NOT in the sense of a conservative live and let live, or smaller govt. or liberal attitudes on freedom TIED to responsibility.
Liberalism to these folks takes on a very left wing politically correct if only we can love each other pie in the sky thinking.
That’s why they’re so screwed up and that’s why they are in the process of losing their own country. 
Now I could be very wrong and simply PO’d enough over what I’ve been seeing and reading to be prejudiced in that opinion.
I guess time will tell but so far these people (the white ones anyway) remain mostly silent publically except where they may blog something but nobody is really standing up and making a serious issue of the things the subject of this post is.  But then again as he has pointed out.
ONLY brown skinned people can do that and not be abused with the ‘R’ word.  Although in his case the muzzies and left use other words and actions to try and silence him.

Dispatched: The post office boss who insisted his customers speak English

The postmaster who refused to serve customers who could not speak English has been transferred to another branch following complaints from local Muslims.

Sri Lankan-born Deva Kumarasiri introduced a ban on non-English speakers last week after claiming they frustrated other customers and made his job more difficult.

Mr Kumarasiri, who moved to Britain 18 years ago, said he believed that new immigrants should learn the language and take pride in their new culture.

But he turned up to work yesterday to find his managers at the agency which runs the Sneinton Boulevard post office in Carlton, Nottingham, for the Post Office had decided to transfer him to another branch.

Last night, Mr Kumarasiri claimed that Riswan Raja, the 27-year-old owner of the shop in which the post office is situated, threatened to make his life a ‘living hell’.

He said: ‘Mr Raja is a Muslim and he is very, very angry. He told me he wouldn’t let me walk through his shop to access the post office and he and other local Muslims have started a petition to get rid of me.

‘Because of that, I decided I could no longer work in this area. I told my bosses and they have transferred me to another post office.’

With tensions running high, his bosses have banned the father of two from revealing his new location for fear of reprisals.

But last night Mr Kumarasiri pledged to stick with his controversial ban on non-English speakers at the new branch.

He said: ‘I will continue with my policy and try to do what is best for the people of Nottingham.

‘I’m not backing down. It’s only a few people who have forced me out. It’s the owner of the shop and some of the Muslim community. It’s not the people out there – they support me. Mr Raja didn’t like my policy and said I lost him a lot of trade, but I only banned five people.

‘If I could I would be out campaigning about this every day, but I have a mortgage to pay so I have to work.

‘I didn’t impose a complete ban. I told people to learn some English or come back with an interpreter. They come back with the right attitude now. It is just common sense.

‘If these people are coming into our country they should practise our language and culture. As far as I am concerned, if you can’t be British you should go home.

Because of his controversial stance, Mr Kumarasiri has also been ejected from the Liberal Democrats, which he represented as a local councillor.

The party’s HQ in London used the fact that he was 18 months behind on his party membership subscription to eject him without fuss or appeal. The local Liberal Democrat leader, Tony Gillam, said: ‘The party investigated the situation because of the comments and publicity around what he is reported to have said, and the party did not agree with what he said. The views expressed go well beyond what we can accommodate.’

REALLY OLDE NEWS. BEAUTY PAGEANTS ARE SEXIST AND BAD AND SHOULD BE BANNED!

Exactly.
People should not be allowed to watch them and so by banning same, perhaps the desire to watch them will disappear.

Young women should find other worthwhile pursuits to occupy their time and talents.  Not that young women have any right to enter beauty contests and pageants anyway.  Becoming a beauty pageant entry is certainly NOT one of the human and civil rights afforded to young women.  Where they ever got the idea that is was is troublesome.  No doubt they are all victims of disgusting immoral male attitudes and twisted male thinking.

Who knows how many young ladies have been forced to enter these sexist pageants against their will.
Surely they (young ladies) can’t possibly enjoy the attention they receive.

And where exactly does that leave girls and young women who do not fit the mold and could never hope to be considered for a beauty pageant?

Probably at the front of the anti-beauty pageant demonstration shouting insults and slogans and trying to disrupt others going about their own business which of course the demonstrators somehow believe is their business as well.

Do these usually very unattractive people have no jobs or other positive interests, beside telling others how to live or what should and should not be regarded as worthy of public attention and enjoyment?  And who are they, that believe they have the right to decide for other women what sort of leisure activity those other young ladies should pursue? 

What bothers me mightily is the idea that a handful of shrill disrupters of public order can bring such influence to bear, that indeed a pageant can be and has been, canceled.

Just what exactly gives them the right beyond voicing an opinion, to shut things down for everyone else?  Apparently the women who do enter and enjoy such pageants aren’t consulted.
Maybe that’s why Rush refers to people like that as femi-Nazis.
To which they take great insult but alas, the shoe just so happens to fit quite well.

I have seen one or two beauty contests in my many years.  Personally, I have found them somewhat vapid with a few exceptions. There are always exceptions.  Generally they are boring , mostly because the girls are required to show that they are made of more then just looks and should be judged they tell us, on their intellectual abilities and their ability to end world poverty and hunger and want.  To which I say BULL****.  I simply want to see her in a beautiful and glamorous ball gown and a revealing swim suit.  But not too revealing because too much exposure spoils the fantasy.  Women in gowns and bathing suits that strut across some stage are in effect, in show business.  And it is a Beauty Pageant after all.  I’m rather tired of the arguments made by the hairy arm and leg set that demand to be recognized for their mental agility.  Fine.  Then don’t enter contests you’ve NO hope of winning.  And I won’t ever enter Mr. America pageants or apply for a job that requires the IQ of a rocket scientist.

It’s really all about a pastime that’s enjoyable for many. But the few object because they can’t be a part of it. 

Still, one must in the end pity these poor creatures.  They will always be homely and shrill.
None has a hope in hell of becoming like Cinderella, a beautiful princess at the end of the story.

A seaside town’s annual carnival beauty queen pageant has been scrapped after more than 50 years because organisers find it sexist.

Weymouth Community Volunteers, a charity who run Weymouth Carnival in Dorset, have given the summer celebrations a make-over with a more politically correct ‘Carnival Community Champion.’

Bosses believe the beauty queen competition is out of date and too restrictive as it is only young girls who get the chance to enter.

Sue Follan, the community volunteers’ manager, said: “We feel the competition is now outdated and does not promote equality of opportunity purely by the fact the competition is only open to women.

(Imagine that will ya. A beauty contest open to women. DUH. What a concept. When were beauty contests ever about equality? One always had to be just a bit more ‘equal’ then the others to win. What a screwed up country and screwed up thinking. )

“We have had so many suggestions as to what should happen this year that we thought we would throw it open to the community and reward someone that deserves to be recognized.

“The carnival queen contest is a closed shop that only applies to young, glamorous women and we think it is a time for a change.”

Residents are being asked to nominate a person who has contributed to community and charitable causes.

The winners will lead this year’s carnival procession in August and receive prizes.

Last year’s carnival queen Jamie Asquith, 19, said: “The contest is something I grew up with. There is so much history to it and I do not think it should be scrapped just like that.

“I have so many great memories as queen. I had a lovely dress and won some great prizes. I definitely think it should go ahead in the future.”

Paulette Adefakis, who was 17 when she was crowned queen in 1977 as Paulette Rogers, added: “I had a wonderful time. I was made to feel really special and felt very privileged.

“As long as there is interest in the competition I do not see any reason why they should stop it.

“A pretty girl leading the procession is part of the tradition of Weymouth Carnival. If they think it is outdated they should open it up to men as well and have a king of the carnival.

“I think they are killjoys for stopping it.”

Last week police had to remove angry protestors picketing the annual Miss University pageant in London.

Mayor of Weymouth and Portland Tim Munro said: “Some of our great traditions are rooted in the past and I think it will be a great shame if they scrapped the carnival queen.

“I was there last year and the queen and her attendants put on a brave face in the pouring rain. I would like to see it continue in the future.”

A Muslim preacher of hate today ridiculed British soldiers who were abused during a homecoming parade - branding them cowards who have an ‘uncanny knack for death by friendly fire’.

Firebrand preacher Anjem Choudary praised the Muslims who had protested at yesterday’s parade for the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment in Luton.

And in an inflammatory message posted on an Islamic extremist website, Choudary viciously mocked their comrade who was killed by friendly fire in Iraq.

His words came as police charged a man who allegedly shouted abuse at the Muslim anti-war protesters.

Choudary, who has links with banned Muslim cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, likened the soldiers to Nazis and branded yesterday’s homecoming a ‘vile parade’ of ‘brutal murderers’.

Choudary said: ‘On 10th March 2009 200 pathetic and cowardly British soldiers from the second battalion, of the Royal Anglian Regiment, pompously marched through Luton to demonstrate their skill at murdering and torturing thousands of innocent Muslim men, women and children (in Iraq) over a 24-month period.’

Choudary leads the controversial Islam For The UK organisation which wants Britain to be an Islamic state, ruled by Sharia law.

His group was formed after Bakri’s fundamentalist organisation Al-Muhajiroun was banned by the Government.

He said: ‘Non-Muslims in Britain must appreciate that the actions of the British soldiers must be condemned unreservedly; they are not heroes but closer to cowards who cannot fight, as their uncanny knack for death by ‘friendly fire’ illustrates.’

His cruel comments were clearly designed to mock the memory of Private Darren George, 23, from Pirbright, Surrey, who was accidentally shot by a colleague in Kabul on April 9, 2002.

WELCOME HOME TO THE UK MOOHAMED

Yeah. No foolin’ folks.  That’s how a radio news reader last night referred to the story.
The Guantanamo prisoner was ”returned home” to the UK.

That’s an outrage because this country IS NOT HIS HOME!  It NEVER was his home and he surely had not intended it to be his home.

So anyway ... this cartoonist has been blasting away at the USA and Bush and Gitmo and anything else American he can think of where we get things wrong.  Which in his view is almost everything.
He is talented, I have enjoyed some of his cartoons but not very fond overall, of him. But hell. Who am I?

Thought this sort of thing should be shared with you.  Why should I be the only one frustrated?

Freed Guantanamo prisoner returns to Britain on a luxury jet... and prepares to claim thousands in benefits

A British resident back home after more than four years in Guantanamo Bay could now claim thousands of pounds in benefits if he is allowed to stay in the UK.

Binyam Mohamed, who flew back from the controversial camp in Cuba yesterday, is almost certain to be given permission to remain here permanently.

This would make him eligible for State benefits, and he could even apply for legal aid to fund a multi-million-pound compensation claim against the Government.

Ehiopian-born Mohamed, 30, first arrived in the UK in 1994, aged 16, and was refused asylum but in 2000 he was granted leave to remain until 2004.

By this time, he was already incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay.

After more than four years in the prison camp, he landed back in Britain yesterday vowing to expose Whitehall ‘collusion’ in his torture.

He was flown back on a luxury Gulfstream jet accompanied by two Foreign Office officials, two Metropolitan police officers and a doctor.

The Foreign Office and Home Office jointly paid for the trip, which is estimated to have cost as much as £160,000.

A Foreign Office spokesman refused to comment on the figure today. He said: ‘The overall cost of the operation is not yet known.’

A WARNING TO ENGLAND TO BE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY

I had no intention of posting anything this early today as I truly am busier then a duck in a flood and I’m not trying to be funny.
But there are times when something crops up that I consider so damn important I just have to drop whatever I’m doing and boot the puter and post.

I know there are Brits who visit this site almost everyday.  We don’t hear in comments as many of you as I see out there.
That’s okay I suppose, at least you’re reading us.

I think I can be fairly certain that at least one of you lurking Brits may not hold the same right wing conservative views we Yanks and some posting Brits do.  And that’s perfectly okay as well. What I have to share with you few unsuspecting Brits will be of unwelcome concern to both the left and right wing of of the political spectrum.

I am NOT joking and I am NOT mad although I can understand why some may think otherwise with regard to the last given some of my rants on things like capitol punishment and the lack of justice in the criminal justice system.

ENGLAND, YOU ARE ABOUT TO BE INVADED BY A GROUP AS DANGEROUS AND UNWANTED AS MUSLIM EXTREMISTS.

They really are EXPERT at using the system AGAINST you, and they WILL! Because they can.

If you don’t deport these people or better yet, KILL EVERY ONE OF THEM YOU CAN FIND, you are in for a world of trouble. Like all bullies, they can be made to back down somewhat.  Which does not lessen their danger. I just can not stress the danger enough.

It isn’t the Russian or islam or the Nazis you’re about to be invaded by.
It’s a group of AMERICANS, sad to say.  And believe me, there is NO reasoning with this group. But you’ll find out in due course the truth of what I say here.

One other thing you Brits need to know about this family.  THEY ARE ALMOST ALL LAWYERS!  Oh yes. They know the law and how to twist it and will do so.  And if they do ever get any kind of foothold in your country, you can be certain they know your laws as well.  In fact, better then you do.
Because that’s what they’re all about.  That’s what these scum bags do.

At some military funerals in America, this group has been driven off by the presence of a group called the Patriot Guard Riders.
I previously mentioned The Hells Angels but since have been corrected.
PGR started as a shield between the WBC loonies and the families of the honored dead. The PGR mission is to honor those who gave their lives for us.

Westboro Baptist Church announces first anti-homosexuality picket in Britain
The fundamentalist US church notorious for picketing the funerals of dead soldiers plans to carry out its first protest in Britain this week, it has emerged.

Followers of the virulently anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church have threatened to picket a sixth form college in Basingstoke, Hampshire during a staging of The Laramie Project, a play about an American youth murdered because of his sexuality.

The church from Topeka, Kansas is mainly composed of relatives of the founder, pastor Fred Phelps, who style themselves “the most hated family in America”.

Their core belief – that God will punish the West for its acceptance of homosexuality – has seen them protest at dozens of servicemen’s funerals brandishing garish placards stating “God hates the USA” and “Thank God for dead soldiers”.

Details of the church’s first picket in Britain was posted on their website with the slogan “God Hates England; Your Queen Is A W----”.

“Some of the best Bible preaching in the history of the world came out of that dark dismal land, but now it is full of all abominations,” the notice read.

“God will shortly destroy the UK and the world, but not until they have got the plain, clear message so that they will be without excuse.”

The target of Friday evening’s demonstration will be the Central Studio arts venue at Queen Mary’s College, where local gay group Freedom Youth is staging a small production of the The Laramie Project this week.

The play, which has roused the ire of Westboro followers in the past, tells the story of Matthew Shepard, a gay teenager tortured and murdered in small town America in 1998.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, a church spokeswoman, confirmed the plan but declined to say whether members would be flying over from the US or if the picket would be carried out by followers in Britain. The church has no scheduled pickets on the days immediately before or after the Basingstoke demonstration.

“It is the first actual picket. We have been preaching by so many means to the UK for years. The arm of the Lord our God is not shortened by oceans and things, all of which he created, and all of which he knew about when he considered these last hours of the very last days of all,” Mrs Phelps-Roper said.

In a lengthy justification of the protest, she cited the recent case of 13-year-old Alfie Patten, who claims to have fathered a child with his 15-year-old girlfriend, as evidence of UK’s moral decline.

“And then you can add to this pleasant little happy UK family moment that another 13-year-old boy has arisen to dispute paternity! Oh yea baby – you UK rebels truly have it groin [sic] on. You are like the doomed American rebels – just a big shameful mess,” she said.

Central Studio confirmed that it was aware of the planned protest and said it was making preparations with the school. A Freedom Youth leader said he believed the chance of the church carrying through on its picket threat was very low, given the distance its followers would have to travel.

Maria Miller, Conservative MP for Basingstoke, said that she had contacted the Home Secretary to see what action the Government may be considering in relation to possible attempts by the Phelps family to enter the country.

She condemned the church’s “highly inflammatory language and behaviour” and said the young people who had worked on the play would not be intimidated by threats.

“The most important thing is that a production that is trying to promote tolerance goes ahead and that’s what I’m focusing on achieving,” she said.

“There’s no evidence that they will be coming along and I don’t believe they have a base in the UK.”

Ben Summerskill, chief executive of Stonewall, the gay right group, described the church’s plan as “distressing”.

“The Laramie Project is a very serious play about a young man who was beaten to death just because he was gay. To regard that as a cause for celebration will make a lot of people both gay and straight feel very uncomfortable,” he said.

“I suspect that they won’t be welcomed by the people of Basingstoke.”

He added: “They have caused enormous distress by protesting outside the funerals of service personnel in the US and I hope they have no intention of trying anything similar in Britain.”

But he warned that any attempt to ban Westboro church members from travelling to Britain would just give them the oxygen of publicity similar to the attention garnered by the right-wing Dutch MP Geert Wilders last week.

Members of Anonymous, the nebulous online community that has previously organised protests against the Church of Scientology, are alreading planning counter-demonstrations outside the college on Friday, posts on internet message boards indicate.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Police said the force was aware of the planned picket.

Farmer outraged after water company claims squatters rights on property she allowed them to access

A farmer has been left devastated after a water company claimed squatters’ rights on land that has been in her family for generations.

Ruth Wrixton had allowed Wessex Water officials onto her farm for years so workers could access a pumping station there.

But Miss Wrixton was dumbstruck after discovering the multi-million pound firm claimed ownership of her property on the grounds that it has ‘enjoyed free, uninterrupted and undisturbed possession for 12 years.’

Miss Wrixton, whose family have owned the farm for 100 years, received a letter from the Land Registry explaining the change of ownership while she was battling cancer.

The firm also offered her a deal to buy her own land back in exchange for a free 99 year lease.

Miss Wrixton, 50, said she was outraged over the matter and couldn’t believe she has lost her land.

She said: ‘I can’t put into words how I feel, I am so angry and upset by this.

‘My family has owned the little farm for 100 years and we have been bound by law to allow Wessex Water onto our land because their are a public utility.

‘But how dare they turn round and claim this land is now theirs. Who do they think they are?’

The saga began more than 50 years ago when the local council had to build the small pumping station in the village of Symondsbury, Dorset.

The farmyard at Miles Cross Farm was deemed the lowest point in the area and the 12ft by 10ft sewage station was placed there.

The station passed into the hands of Wessex Water when it was privatised in 1974.

Miss Wrixton’s grandfather, Fred Barnes who bequeathed the farm to her, was obliged to allow the firm’s employees onto his land.

That agreement continued after she took over the 70 acre beef farm.

She said: ‘I had no choice - if I tried to stop them I would have been arrested. By law they can come on my land because they are a utility .

‘I couldn’t win either way. Let them in, and after 12 years they take the land, or I stop them entering and be arrested.’

Miss Wrixton only learnt that Wessex Water had registered the small plot of land the station is on in its name after she divorced and notified the Land Registry that she was now the farm’s sole owner.

Although she wrote an objection, a second letter from the Land Registry stated:
‘Unfortunately your objection is not sufficient to prevent the completion of the application.

‘I have no doubt that Wessex Water has been in full free, uninterrupted and undisturbed possession for at least 12 years of the claimed land.’

Miss Wrixton approached her local MP, Conservative Oliver Letwin, who wrote to Colin Skellett, the chairman of Wessex Water.

She said: ‘Mr Skellett replied and stated they would transfer the land back to me for one pound - so I buy my land back and in return I let them have a 99 year lease back at one pound. Meaning that I let them have the land for 99 years free of charge.

‘I wouldn’t care if the land was in the middle of nowhere but it is in the farmyard and I have to keep the route clear for them.’

A spokesman for Wessex Water confirmed they believed they owned the title of the land.

He said: ‘Although no deeds exist, which is not uncommon, Wessex Water has rights to access and maintain the site in accordance with our statutory duty to provide sewerage services to local residents.

‘A recent application to HM Land Registry to register our possessory title in the site has met with objection from the claimant.

‘In response we offered to take a 99-year lease of the site at a peppercorn rent but the claimant sought more commercial terms.

‘We are still prepared to transfer the small piece of land back to the claimant and take the lease as previously proposed.

‘We are disappointed not to have received a reply from the claimant.’

This BMEWS readers, is upside down ridiculous MOONBAT Britain today. Believe it!

Outside of leaving a few bats here I really don’t know what to say about this situation.  I do know that allowing it to begin with only encourages others to do the same and I’m sure they will.
Some other buildings were taken over last month and the one before as well.
The solution of course would be to shoot dead the people doing it. Bingo. Problem solved and doubtful others would risk doing it themselves.
But of course that won’t happen and so look for more of this in future.

The house next to us (due for demolition in six weeks) has been vacant for well over 21 years.  The lady who owned it who passed away about a year ago, couldn’t bring herself to sell her girlhood home.  She married a Harley Street Heart Surgeon and so had the money to keep the house up to a small degree. They kept the heat and electric and gas on year round, had gardeners come in and cut grass even when there wasn’t anything to cut.

Due to fears of just this sort of thing, squatters, the late mil kept flowers in the windows and a light burning all night and sometimes leaving on a radio or TV.
The mail was checked every day so that nothing look vacant.

It was all a bit hard for American ears to take in when I was told about it and after moving here my wife and I continued the practice when the mil became unwell and could no longer do those things herself.  In fact, the owner has a cleaning girl come in every two weeks to sweep and dust, but there was little to do and mostly she fell asleep on one of the beds there.  We were sent money enough to pay the woman every month.

Heres a photo, the house in foreground is the one that’s vacant. It was sold to a Winchester dentist when the housing market was high. The house is almost worthless but the property is large and goes back a ways.  He is building a new house there.  These are called Dormer Bungalows. The one in the center is ours and it’s falling apart, and the one to the left of us has been demolished and been replaced with a two story red brick eyesore. That property sold at the high as well in the same period.  They may look cute but trust me.  Most Americans would have to be paid to live in one unless they were homeless.  No central heat and NO SCREENS on windows, not even new houses have those. And NO AIR CONDITIONING! 

Squatters have taken over two seven-storey houses on Park Lane in London worth an estimated £30million.

The drifters have occupied the buildings on one of Britain’s most exclusive streets after sneaking in through an unlocked basement door.

The giant residences, most recently used as offices, are thought to be owned by the Duke of Westminster.

The 20 squatters, who share the space with three large dogs, say each address has been unoccupied for more than two years, according to The Sun.

The paper said the former homes were now a clutter of amateur art, acoustic guitars, overflowing ashtrays and the mess from the three dogs.

One of the group, a South African called Martin, said: “The view at sunset over Hyde Park is just magic - especially from the penthouse. I really love it here.” Another, 21-year-old Meg, added: “It’s much better when squatters move into a rich person’s home like this, as the owner can obviously afford to have us here.”

Squatting is not illegal if entry is not forced and no criminal damage is caused to the premises.

The buildings are a short stroll away from some of London’s most exclusive addresses - including an Aston Martin dealership, the Dorchester Hotel and the restaurant Nobu.

Ian Brimhurst, a member of The Westminster Homeowners’ Association, said the squatters were “blighting” the area.

The Duke of Westminster’s spokesman declined to comment.

In addition to hosting luxury homes and hotels, Park Lane is one of the most valuable destinations on the Monopoly game board, alongside Mayfair.

Now even police can’t object to gipsy camp in picturesque village…because it’s racist .

First of all and most important my sincere thanks to Drew and all you other nice people for the kind words of support.  My wife has read all, and has asked me to convey her thanks as well.  It all surprised us very much.  I had no idea Drew was going to do that.
It’s funny how empty a small space can be.  A large weight has been removed but ..... just but.
Thank You All.

I can’t stay away for long when I see a headline like the one here.  I had no intention of doing anything today.  But this bit of continuing total lunacy just begs posting about.  Don’t mean to bore Americans with a problem we haven’t faced yet, but I want to keep what the Brits are living with at the forefront.  You can’t begin to know without living here, how serious this is. 

Brits who have always worked, paid all their many taxes, bought their houses and obeyed all the laws, take a look at their country and see the following.
People who have done NONE of those things and most likely will not ever do those things, demand and get special treatment and expect health care and schools and God only knows what else is on their list. This is ALL of it, the work of the left wing in this country.  And I won’t even get into immigration which Lyndon has covered so well in his comments on another post.

Police have been told they cannot object to a planned gipsy camp in a picturesque village.

Council chiefs have ruled that the local force’s professional opinion ‘breaches the Race Relations Act’.

The decision meant that councillors considering the planning application were not told how officers had been called to another local camp 109 times in just two years.

The row centres on the tiny village of Bletsoe (population 281) in North Bedfordshire.

Early last year residents learned that the owner of a farm on the edge of the village had applied for permission to build four ‘gipsy and traveller’ pitches on his land.

They formed an association to combat the plans and were delighted when Bedfordshire police joined them by writing a letter of objection to the council.

The police’s hard-hitting letter detailed their dealings with three other gipsy sites in the county.

Over a two-year period to January 2008, officers visited the three sites a total of 210 times. One site was visited 109 times.

The police were called out to deal with reports of fights, arson, assaults, stolen vehicles, violent disorder, anti-social behaviour, theft, child abduction and use of weapons.

Chief Superintendent Andy Street wrote: ‘The numbers, and nature, of incidents are not atypical for traveller sites. The likelihood of such sites causing problems for those living in close proximity is highly probable.’

However, Bedford Borough Council refused to take the letter into consideration when deciding whether to approve the site. Officials claimed that including it in the summary given to councillors would leave the authority open to a prosecution for racial discrimination.

So they returned the letter to the police and refused to let councillors see it. As a result, the police were forced to withdraw their objection.

Bletsoe resident Colin Deas, 72, a retired businessman who grew up in the village, said: ‘It seems to me that there are some things you simply cannot say if you are talking about travellers.

‘I am sure that the police would be allowed to say there was fear of increased crime if they were talking about a new housing estate. So what’s the difference?’

Bedford’s act of censorship is the latest illustration of how politically- correct councils appear to be appointing themselves as our ‘thought police’.

Only last week the Mail revealed how nearby Mid-Bedfordshire council labelled more than 3,000 local residents of the village of Stotfold as racists when they objected to a gipsy site.

They had simply expressed worries that the site could increase traffic, cause property prices to fall or increase noise levels.

Although councillors rejected the Bletsoe traveller camp plans last year, the landowner has now appealed and the case will be heard again next month.

A spokesman for Bedford council said: ‘The police objection was treated very seriously.

‘Legal advice indicated that the objection was not a material planning consideration and should not be reported to committee. In the light of such clear advice it was considered appropriate to return the correspondence to the police.’

Family of Afghan rape victim cut her open and removed foetus without anaesthetic .

The mother and brother of a 14-year-old Afghan rape victim face charges after they cut her open and removed her foetus without anaesthetic, it has been reported.

The girl is critically ill in hospital after her family sewn the girl up themselves and said she had been bitten by a dog to cover their crime.

A man accused of raping the girl, from the central Afghan province of Bamiyan, is under arrest.

The rural family apparently decided to perform an abortion when the girl was five months pregnant to protect the family’s honour.

Rape victims face extreme social stigma, imprisonment and abandonment or murder by their own families in Afghanistan.

Dr Ghulam Mohammad Nader, head of Bamiyan hospital, told the BBC that the girl had been able to explain what had happened but was in a critical condition with infected wounds. She is now being treated in the capital Kabul.

“The girl stayed at home for three or four days in her condition until her father took her to hospital,” he said.

“He said a dog had bitten her so that people in the area wouldn’t know what had really happened.”

Habiba Sarabi, governor of the province, said the girl had been bound and taken to a stables for the abortion. Police are now trying to arrest her family.
