EU/UN Hypocrisy

How many have been following the brouhaha regarding the wall the Israelis are building to separate them from the Palestinians? How many of you also know this wall has virtually ground most terrorist attacks on Israel to a screeching halt? (Ask yourself, when was the last time the front pages or any page for that matter, of any newspaper has had anything in there about large scale terrorist attacks on Jews?)

How many of you also know that the World Court condemned Israeli for building this wall and demanded they tear it down?

How many of you knew the United Nations passed a resolution supporting the World Court?

Now................................

(AHEM)

How many of you know the EU was soliciting bids to build a similar wall to separate Poland and Hungary from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine? Why? To keep out illegal aliens who might impact the economy of Poland and Hungary. And, OBTW, the contractor submitting bids for the work? The same one doing Israel's!

Last question: How much you want to bet neither the World Court nor the UN demand the EU stop doing this?

When Do Dems Approve “Outsourcing”?

When I first read about President Bush's plan to pull 70,000 troops from Europe and the Far East I thought, "about fuckin' time!!!!"

I am so tired of these sons of bitches complaining about the US, criticizing our foreign policies yet all the while sucking up our dollars as our troops are forced to live in those shitheel, ungratefully wretched countries.

Well, guess what? The Germans are upset!!!! OH! BOO FUCKING HOO Kraut boys!!! Take it up with your assclown Chancellor/Prime Minister/President (really who gives a flying fuck what his title is anyway?) who would not support us in the war with Iraq. Now your wallets are going to feel the pinch. GOOD! Next time you'll think twice about biting the hand that feeds you, you pricks!

Of course, the stupid Dummycraps could not wait to lob a few salvoes in the President's direction regarding this decision. After all, they want to sit around sucking German ass and subsidizing their socialist lifestyles by having us stay there.

Somehow this kind of "outsourcing" is OK.

To show you what a bunch of slacker, ambitionless pieces of shit these forons are, President Bush's plan is a 10 year one. You'd think over 10 years the Krauts and Koreans would figure out how to stimulate the local economies affected but, being the good socialists that they are, this is not possible.

A nice "FUCK YOU VERY MUCH" is appropriate right now for both the Krauts and the Dummycrap critics of President Bush. Oh, guess who the Dummycraps are making the most noise? You shouldn't be surprised: General WEASELY Clark and Richard Holbrooke. May they die awful deaths.

Your Turn to Speak Out

I just do not know where to begin with this one. On the one hand I think the idea is brilliant and right in synch with my own thoughts regarding moonbats like this (with the exception that I'd sterilize the entire family---mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents.)

On the other hand we're talking MAJOR civil rights violations.

But on the other hand, the skeptic in me says, "hey, let the Brits try it and if successful , we should, too!"

What is it I am speaking of?

The monitoring of children of criminals to preclude them from becoming like their parents.

The only change I'd make is that in the US we should do this to the children of foron moonbat Democrats and other bed wetting liberals, especially the Hollyweird variety with emphasis on kids belonging to Dummycrap politicians.

Who's with me on this?

Nybbles And Bits

Walter Cronkite has decided to finally retire. As a parting shot, he says bloggers are guilty of libel and slander and will eventually be punished. Memo to Uncle Walt: go to hell.

The poodle got a wild hair and had to fly in his personal hairdresser (again) all the way from D.C. to the campaign trail in Oregon. Just a little off the sides, dear.

Venezuelan madman and part-time Communist Hugo Chavez won re-election this week. Jimmy "I Love Communists" Carter declared the election to have been fair and balanced. Yeah, right. In a related story, the stock market reacted positively to the news after fears that Venezuela, the fifth largest producer of oil in the world, might de-stabilize oil prices if Chavez lost. Follow the money, kids.

Microsoft has delayed for another nine days the release of Service pack 2 for Windows XP. More bugs have been discovered. It seems that the latest "fix" from Redmond won't play well with lots of existing applications. Does Bill Gates care? Guess ....

If you have no arms or legs, don't buy a ticket on Air France. The surrender monkeys require at least four limbs before you can board their planes. If all you have is "a head, a torso and a bottom" you are S.O.L.

Finally, Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons have decided to go on a hunger strike. What are the Joos going to do about it? Why, have a barbecue, of course. They hope to break the prisoners will to keep starving. Personally, I think it's a great idea, except I would cook up the barbecue and then invite all Israeli family members of Palestinian terrorist attacks to the feast .. IN FRONT OF THE PRISONERS. Oh, and I would continue to let the Paleswinian bastards starve. When it comes to terrorists, I am definitely not a "Compassionate Conservative".

More Third World Madness

Damn! These fruitcakes in the Third World are doing their damnest to prove they are totally incompetent and unable to join most of humanity.

First up is a screw ball in Turkmenistan who wants to build an ice palace. Nice idea, huh? Except it's a dirt poor country where summer temperatures run in excess of 100 degrees every day. For all I know they don't even have a steady electricity supply, either. Shitbirds!

Next is a pleasant little story about a bunch of Dominicans who decide to take a little boat trip, get stranded. drift for a couple of weeks and decide that in order to survive the women MUST breast feed the men and other women. Yeah, boy! That's a brilliant move! When a woman refuses, she's thrown overboard. Many others died. Darwin is alive and well in this part of the world.

Our favorite Turkmenistan screwball is up again. This time banning make-up on TV announcers because he can't tell if they are men or women. What we need is a hand-held radio frequency device that sterilizes these forons. Maybe he's afraid of becoming like McGreevey and end up batting from both sides of the plate.

Before we begin with the next story, how can you respect any country whose currency is called the "kwacha" even more so when it takes thousands of them to make one dollar?

But that's not the point.

This is just another example of why third world countries will forever stay third world unless they stop their petty in-fighting, corruption, and inability to stop tribal jealousies. In Zambia the president is pissed off because his State House, his office and residence ran up a $420,000 bill for beverages.

This in a country where wages are about $1 a DAY!!!!

Conclusion? All these places deserve each other.

Final Update From Florida

Well, here it is Saturday morning. No wind. A few showers last night and very early this morning. Anti-climactic? YOU BET!!

I was kinda looking forward to a bit of a blow but that was not in the cards. So, yep, turned out to be a bust but thinking on it carefully, that's the kind of bust one wants. We in Hernando County were spared but things were ugly in the Port Charlotte area and inland. Now the radio and TV pukes along the east coast will take their turn putting on the media exaggeration associated with a storm like this. Good luck catching any sort of regular programming.

When all was said and done we never really got any of the predicted winds or rains, either. If gusts hit 20 MPH yesterday we were lucky. I was expecting 40-50 MPH from those feeder bands we were constantly warned about.

Right now it is sunny and the temps are rising. Got a grand total of one inch of rain. Think about it. A regular summer thunderstorm can dump 2 inches in an hour. We got one inch over three days. That SUCKS!!!!

On the bright side, all my plants and flowers survived.

As a side note, as I usually do every morning before it turns too unbearably hot, I was outside pulling weeds and trimming dying flowers. The birdbaths needed to be re-installed. The bird feeders replaced and restocked. The hanging plants re-hung in the protective shade of the trees. Squirrels are underfoot eating the seeds from the feeder I dumped yesterday.

All of a sudden I hear this racket on my screen porch. I turn around and see this hawk (big guy, too!) swooping upwards to take a perch on one of the peaks of my roof. Now, 5 years ago I was in my kitchen looking outside and saw this EXPLOSION of feathers and then a hawk lifting off with a mourning dove in its talons. So I knew that the fellow this morning did not come down to my rooftop to socialize. I focused on its claws and saw nothing there. I looked back toward the screen porch and there was this squirrel, chattering in a manner I've never heard squirrels chatter before. There's the "pissed off" chatter. The "calling a mate chatter." The "summoning the young" chatter. And the "normal" chatter.

This sounded like a "I am terrified and if I wore pants I'd have shit them" chatter. This boy was scared. Immobile. Chattering like a terrorist getting his nuts ripped off by an angry Marine.

Anyway, the hawk flew off and I went to visit Mr. Squirrel to see if maybe the hawk had punctured him with his claws. Mr. Squirrel was fine. He ran off still chattering a mile a minute, probably even more terrified now that this human had forced it from its seemingly protected place back onto the roof where Mr. Hawk might come back for a repeat attempt.

So today, even though Hurricane Charley disappointed, Mother Nature provided something like a consolation prize. The Hawk, though, is probably pissed off and later today at the Hawk Bar he'll catch hell from his hawk buddies for having missed a "stupid" squirrel.

Back to the hurricane story.

This same sort of hoopla we had associated with Charley, with county officials getting all worked up, people told to evacuate, etc. happened about three or four years ago. And then, same as this year, nothing. But-----back then the county used it as an excuse to fund a multi-million dollar emergency center (for government employees engaged in storm prep, and what not.) We are still fighting its construction. (yes, I am going somewhere with this.)

Yesterday a local radio host found out from listeners that the county planned to shut off electricity, water, etc. to all customers along their imaginary evacuation line. No exceptions. Draw a line down Highway 19 and everything west of it was cut off regardless if some of that area was not even close to being in a flood plain due to its height. The Sheriff and his posse went around telling places like Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc. they had to close, too.

Hey! It makes sense, right?

Well, considering that all this was taking place around 10-11 AM and forecasts called for Charley to hit us between 5 and 6, they wanted to cut everything off at 12!!!!!!!!!

NOON!!!

Yet by 12 we STILL were not getting any winds whatsoever. Stores had long been closed. And now it looked like power was shutting down, too.

A HUGE outcry went out and the county was inundated with protestations. The person in charge of the decision was located and put on the air. She said that since the storm had "slowed down" they were re-thinking that decision and moving the hour up but wouldn't fix a time certain just yet.

Mind you, Charley had been ACCELERATING (not slowing down) its forward speed from last night through the morning. This business of it slowing down was a patent lie by the county as we'd known since the day previous we'd get hit between 4 and 6. When asked why the county's phone answerers were telling people power was going to get cut off at 12 she said she'd call them and clear it up.

Almost an hour later people are calling the show saying they were STILL getting told 12 o'clock!!!

Sorry, but to me this is nothing but pure incompetence and I would not be surprised if it were not a ploy by these people to cite to our County Commissioners the examples of the citizenry not able to get timely information as a ruse for additional justification for and even more money to build an even bigger emergency management shelter to include improved communications devices.

Funny thing is, no land line phone service was ever disrupted and all this woman had to do was place one phone call to resolve it. If nothing else, relay instructions via cell phone. So why weren't those calls made? And if they were and bad info was still getting out, those employees should be fired.

AHHH!! Petty local politics!

Well, boys and girls, that's the story from Hernando County, Florida.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else experienced similar bullshit in their county regarding disaster preparedness?.

Reporting From The Jaws Of Hell

Shiver me timbers, Vilmar! For God's sake, take cover, man!

Allan here! I'm anxiously waiting the latest report from Vilmar. Stay cool, buddy!

UPDATE FROM VILMAR: I am safely ensconced now at my BMEWS Central home, on the west coast of Florida. Things are ugly in the center of the state but here in Spring Hill a breeze is blowing, the sun just set and I'm going, "what the.........?!?!?! All this excitement, all this media hype, demands for evacuation, boarding up windows, taking in patio furniture, stocking up on toilet paper and buying all the water, bread, and milk in stores was for naught."

Better than having your home blown away, I guess.

Time for a drink.

See you all tomorrow!

Update

Well, here it is, 1:40 PM and the weather service says Charley may go to a Category 4 soon. Winds at 145 with tops at 162.

Outside it is warm with nary a breeze blowing.

Being 40 or so miles north of Tampa we will probably get passed on by as it nails the Sarasota area (further south of Tampa Bay) and goes toward Orlando.

The ranting will go on until they pull my plug!!!

Kerry’s China Connection

Thanks to Insight we are able to get more clues into the duplicitousness nature of and possible selling out of America by John Kerry. Photos have emerged showing Kerry in a private meeting with a Chinese company tied to their military. Not surprising, Kerry's campaign is refusing comment. His photo can be seen here, Boston Capital's Website. (note: the link is good. The server is saturated so you might get a 404 error.)

One of the people on the trip was a guy named Marcus who had little to say. When asked:
"Marcus also refused to provide details of the China trip, including the time and date, whether the senator took money for his services, or the identity of the Chinese officials with whom Kerry met. "I am not doing an interview with you, and please don't call me again."

Who is Marcus? Glad you asked.
The chief of Boston Capital and his Chinese-born wife, Moying Li, live in the same Beacon Hill district of Boston as Kerry, who used his half-interest in the family mansion to borrow $6.4 million to save his then-faltering presidential campaign.

Read the article to see who Marcus' business partners are. Um hmmm, the company is a front for a Chinese munitions concern that tried to smuggle machine guns into the US and once run by a guy who was greeted in the White House by Bill "Disgraceful Piece of Shit" Clinton. Remember Charlie Trie? Yep, both of them. Together. With Clinton.

The article closes thusly:
John Kerry frequently has stated that he has had contacts with high-ranking officials of foreign governments. Yet, the Kerry campaign is refusing to answer any questions about the candidate's privately sponsored trade trip to China or his relationship with Marcus. But it would appear that the presidential candidate has many friends at high levels in Beijing. The Chinese official Internet news outlet of the People's Daily, official newspaper of the Communist Party of China, recently endorsed the senator from Massachusetts for president of the United States.

Interesting, indeed!

Another “social” conundrum

OK, boys and girl. Which way should this one go?

The down and dirty: woman likes to smoke. Judge says, "not in front of your kids" In a fit of defiance, she does so anyway. Now she is subject to jail.

What I do not have: proof the kids are asthmatic or suffer debilitating harm from her smoking.

What I do not like: smoking

What I hate even worse: activist asshole judges telling people how to live their lives.

OBTW: this all started when she filed for full custody from her ex husband from whose home had come multiple 911 calls for domestic disputes.

One more OBTW: the judge also said she can't drink in front of her kids.

This pair really does not strike me as being overly bright parents but this judicial activism crap is beginning to wear thin and I would not be surprised to see a spate of "judge killings" if it continues.

What say you?

Lance Armstrong Stripped of Title?

Found this on Boortz's site this morning:

We learn this morning of troubles for six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

It seems the French are preparing an announcement that Armstrong will be stripped of his 6th title due to negative results from a random check for contraband.

Residues of three substances banned by the French have been found in tests: toothpaste, deodorant and soap.

(HA!! Had you going, eh? It had me!) Thanks, Neal!

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
