killer rapist demands rights & compensation. idiot judge says, okay.

Exchanged some email with Drew last night, in which I mentioned that there was always something insane to write about in this politically correct insane place.
And I don’t expect things to be much different back home either. However, I didn’t expect to find this one so soon.

So far, I don’t think this has gone all the way and received unreserved approval. Yet.

This does fit the world upside down thing for sure.

Monster who strangled girl gets payout… because jail harmed HIS human rights: Rapist says he ‘wasn’t given rehabilitation’

Arthur Duncan raped and strangled Linda Bull in 1970, when he was 18
He is serving a life term, but claimed has had no access to treatment
A court agreed - ruling that his human rights were breached
Victim’s family said decision to back claim was a ‘kick in the teeth’

By Luke Salkeld

A convicted murderer and rapist is in line for compensation after a court ruled that his human rights were breached when he was not given rehabilitation treatment in jail.

Arthur Duncan, who raped and strangled Linda Bull, claimed he had no access to sexual offenders’ rehabilitation programmes for a period of five years.

His victim’s family described the decision to back his claim as a ‘kick in the teeth’.

One of the UK’s longest-serving prisoners, Duncan raped Miss Bull, 22, then strangled her with her tights in 1970, when he was 18.

He is serving a life term and has repeatedly been refused parole to protect the public since the murder in Andover, Hampshire. But, to the horror of his victim’s family, he is now in line for a payout.

‘My parents’ lives were left in devastation after losing their daughter in such a horrific way and they were never the same,’ said Shelagh Paynter, Miss Bull’s sister. ‘We were never offered counselling or compensation, yet the criminal seems to have the help.

‘We aren’t asking for anything, but our lives have been in turmoil. We are the victims here and we didn’t get anything, so why should he? It’s disgusting.’

Mrs Paynter, 62, a retired social worker who lives in Dorset, said criminals who commit such heinous crimes should forfeit their human rights.

‘We have all suffered because of what happened and we will continue to suffer but hearing that he is in line for a payout is just a kick in the teeth,’ she said.

Duncan claimed his rights under article five of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects liberty and security, were breached when he had no chance to access sexual offenders’ programmes between April 2007 and July last year.

Officials argued that there had been no failures and that progress through rehabilitation was ‘very much a matter of judgment for the prison authorities’.

They said fantasies involving bondage and non-consensual sex offending had been ‘an ongoing issue’. But judge Lord Glennie ruled in Duncan’s favour last month.

He said officials had ‘simply failed to provide him with programmes and courses which they themselves recognised were a necessary part of his rehabilitation’.

He also said they were necessary ‘to enable him to make progress towards having an effective review before the parole board’.

The judge said a further hearing should take place before a final decision is made.

Defining the term

Some things don’t need to be said. Some pictures don’t need to be shown. Sometimes you don’t even need to see the names. Some behaviors are just so ... stereotypical ... that they define the term, ever more perfectly.

Which is utterly true. And as far from being Politically Correct as is possible.

Nevertheless.

Pregnant woman in labor robbed at gunpoint in Annapolis

A pregnant woman in labor and a man were robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning, Annapolis police said.

Around 4:30 a.m., a 911 caller alerted police that two people were being held up in 1800 block of Copeland St. When officers arrived, the suspects fled in a stolen vehicle, police said.

A chase ensued but the suspects abandoned the vehicle near Tyler Court and were apprehended by officers on foot, police said.

During the chase the suspects threw a gun from the vehicle, which was recovered by officers.

diversity, diversity.  all bend a knee to the newest religion

OK boys and girls and others. Pay attention.

Job Offer from ....

Politically correct more than welcome. Indeed, wanted at once.

I think all of us agree on being judged by ability to do the job.  But lately there are more and more calls for diversity and demands to hire this one and that one because, there are not enough of one or two groups represented in various professions. One authority figure for example, blasted a sports panel show for having all white guys on it. The demand has been made to remove them or some of them and place coloreds and women in their stead. Oh right. And the 3rd sex too. Can’t omit them.

Although it has nothing to do with this story ... the idea of equality as the left wants it done, isn’t realistic.  There are calls for placing people in places that smack of quotas.  What the heck ... that’s the world today.  Don’t defend your country ‘by any means possible’, but by any means whatever, enforce equality even where it might not exist.  If the left doesn’t mean it that way, it sure is the impression I have of what they mean.

007, licensed to be politically correct: MI6 job advert (endorsed by gay rights group) seeks spies ‘committed to diversity and equality’

MI6 has signed up to Stonewall’s diversity champions programme

It aims to make workplaces ‘gay friendly’ and compliant with equality law

By Jack Doyle

The Secret Intelligence Service says it wants ‘empathetic’ recruits who are ‘able to get on with diverse groups of people’.

image

In its advert, reproduced above, MI6 proudly displays its equality credentials by carrying a Stonewall gay rights logo. Anyone interested in ‘guns and fast cars’ need not apply.

The details are included in an advert for intelligence officer posts, published yesterday in the Economist newspaper.

The officers collect, analyse and report secret intelligence material from around the world.

The job advert – presented as a flowchart – has questions including ‘Do you want to protect your country?’, ‘Do you have an instinctive curiosity?’ and ‘Can you be trusted?’. Applicants are also asked about their language skills and whether they want to carry out work overseas.

Hopefuls must say if they are male or female before being told their gender does not matter. The same goes for sexuality and ethnicity – although candidates must have British nationality.

Secrecy is a key issue naturally. Anyone answering yes to the question ‘Would you tell anyone else about your application?’ is told ‘Thank you for your time’.

An identical response is given to anyone believing that MI6 is ‘all guns and fast cars’.

Where Bond routinely defies his bosses and breaks the rules, the MI6 advert warns against the idea that Britain must be protected ‘by any means possible’.

MI6 has signed up to Stonewall’s diversity champions programme, which aims to make workplaces ‘gay friendly’ and ensure employers comply with equalities legislation.

MI6, formally Secret Intelligence Service, British government agency responsible for the collection, analysis, and appropriate dissemination of foreign intelligence. MI6 is also charged with the conduct of espionage activities outside British territory. It has existed in various forms since the establishment of a secret service in 1569 by Sir Francis Walsingham, who became secretary of state to Queen Elizabeth I. It was constituted in its present form in 1912 by Commander (later Sir) Mansfield Cumming as part of Britain’s attempt to coordinate intelligence activities prior to the outbreak of World War I. In the 1930s and ’40s it was considered the most effective intelligence service in the world. Following the rise to power of Adolf Hitler in Germany, MI6 conducted espionage operations in Europe, Latin America, and much of Asia. (The name “MI6” label originated during this period, when the agency was “section six” of military intelligence.)

When the United States entered World War II, MI6 helped to train personnel of the U.S. Office of Strategic Services; it has since cooperated with the OSS’s successor, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). In the mid-1950s, the British public reacted with consternation when it was revealed that MI6 had been penetrated by British double agents who had served the Soviet Union since the 1930s. Details of MI6 operations and relationships seldom appeared in the British press until the 1990s, when the previously secretive organization publicly named its head for the first time. Nevertheless, information about MI6 is still much more closely guarded than that about MI5, which carries out internal security and domestic counterintelligence activities. The agency has the power to censor news accounts of its activities through the use of “D” notices under the Official Secrets Act. MI6 reports to the Foreign Office.

uncomfortably semi-numb

Crap.

Had a broken tooth. 4 day toothache. Went to the dentist. It had to be pulled. The Novocaine is starting to wear off now, but the Vicodin isn’t doing much yet.

Crivens.

Not going to be a happy camper for a couple of days.

Oww. Oww. Oww oww oww.

Time to apply the ice pack again, and then crawl under the covers.

the russians are coming, the russians are coming. no sweat. the one will protect us all with a line

Nothing to say on the subject that will add anything to it. Except, no matter how bad it gets, I doubt very much it will spark WW111.
We’ll just have to wait and see.  You don’t know for sure .... but Mr. O. may well draw another line somewhere. Prolly Arizona I would guess.

Russia admits that it has moved troops in Ukraine

Russia has finally confirmed that it has moved troops into Ukraine’s restive Crimea region, after speculation about Moscow’s involvement

By Roland Oliphant, in Crimea and Harriet Alexander

Russian troops have moved into Crimea in what Moscow is calling a mission to “protect Black Sea Fleet’s positions” but which the Ukrainian government has denounced as an “armed intervention.”

The Russian foreign ministry said Friday that it had informed the Ukrainian government that armoured units from the Black Sea Fleet base near Sevastopol had entered Crimea in order to protect fleet positions.

A serviceman who identified himself as a Black Sea Fleet officer said “we are here…so as not to have a repeat of the Maidan,” Reuters reported.

A Russian warship is reported to have blocked the bay at Balaklava, where the Ukrainian coast guard is based.

These are reported to be Russian helicopters in Ukraine today, not really certain. Check BBC news.

Oh sure, he invited them

The new prime minister of Ukraine’s Crimea region claimed control of all military, police and security services in the region Saturday and urged Russia to intervene to keep the peace there, a day after President Obama warned Moscow “there will be costs” if it intervenes militarily.

Sergei Aksenov, the head of the main pro-Russia party on the peninsula, said in a statement reported by local and Russian news agencies that he appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin “for assistance in guaranteeing peace and calmness on the territory of the autonomous republic of Crimea.”

Aksenov declared that the armed forces, the police, the national security service and border guards will answer only to his orders. He said any commanders who don’t agree should leave their posts.

When I awoke, the dire wolf, six hundred pounds of sin,
Was grinning at my window, all I said was come on in.
Don’t murder me, I beg of you, don’t murder me. Please, please don’t murder me.

Simferopol, Ukraine (CNN)—The new pro-Russian leader of Ukraine’s southern Crimea region has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin for help in maintaining peace, as international concerns mount that Moscow may intervene militarily in the crisis.

A Kremlin spokesman said Russia “will not disregard” Crimean Premier Sergey Aksyonov’s request for help “in maintaining peace and accord in Crimea.”

Aksyonov, who was installed as the region’s premier after armed men took over the Crimean parliament building Thursday, said security forces “are unable to efficiently control the situation in the republic,” in comments broadcast on Russian state channel Russia 24.

Consequently, he said, he was taking charge of security. His actions are also a response to Kiev’s actions in appointing a new police chief in Crimea on Friday without consulting the parliament, he said.

“I am appealing to Russian President Vladimir Putin to provide assistance in ensuring peace and accord” in Crimea, he said.

Every time you look at me
I’m as helpless as can be
I become a puppet on a string
You can do ‘most anything with me

(Elvis)

The latest developments come as the newly appointed interim government in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, seeks to prevent tensions in Crimea, a Black Sea peninsula with a majority-Russian population, escalating into a full-blown bid for separation.

Ukraine suspects Russia of fomenting separatist tensions in the autonomous region.

Nyet, surely not!

Mysterious groups of armed men, dressed in uniforms without identifying insignia, patrolled the airports in the regional capital, Simferopol, and the nearby port city of Sevastopol, where Russia has a major military base for its Black Sea fleet.

The armed men remained at the airports Saturday and Yevgey Plaksin, director of the airport in the regional capital, Simferopol, said Crimean airspace would remain closed until the evening local time.

Unidentified, balaclava-clad armed men also took up position outside the Crimean parliament building in Simferopol on Saturday, as a small pro-Russian protest was held, and controlled who could enter. A roadblock was also reported on the route into the city.

Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaliy Churkin, on Friday compared the reports of Russian troops taking charge of positions on the ground to rumors that ”are always not true.”

Da, is pravda!!

utter disgust

Officials at Fort Carson in Colorado said Wednesday they are investigating reports that a soldier posted a photo on Instagram of herself deliberately avoiding saluting the flag, touching off a storm of criticism from a group representing families who lost loved ones.

Base officials issued a statement Wednesday saying they are aware of a social media post allegedly made by Pfc. Tariqka Sheffey indicating she stayed in her car to avoid a flag ceremony and they are looking into the situation.

Comments posted with the photo showing a female soldier in uniform relaxing in a car said “This is me laying back in my car hiding so I don’t have to salute the (5 p.m. flag ceremony).”

If you don’t want to do Army things, don’t join the Army. Fine, I can accept that. But if you do join, then your appreciation of, and willing participation in, certain traditions is expected. And to be disrespectful of them is an insult to the entire group.

This is just so wrong.

Sheffey is a member of the 59th Quartermaster Company, 43rd Sustainment Brigade, at Fort Carson, Colo., post spokesman Dee McNutt confirmed Tuesday.

When asked if an investigation was underway, McNutt said, “The chain of command is aware and looking into the situation. That’s really all I can say at this point.”

It’s Because She’s A Stupid Snowbillie

Palin Called Ukraine 6 Years Ago

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is saying “I told you so” following reports of a potential Russian “military invasion” in Ukraine.

Though she was mocked for it, Palin actually speculated in 2008 that Russian President Vladimir Putin would be encouraged to invade Ukraine after President Barack Obama’s weak response to the nation invading Georgia.

“After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next,” Palin told Foreign Policy in 2008, “

I saw our Mighty Leader on TV talking about Ukraine. Wanna know what he’s gonna do? It’s simple math: Jack Shit divided by Diddly Squat.  Putin, The Man, will do whatever he wants in the Western Crimean. Obama, The Vapid Little Girl, will make noises for a couple of days, then spin a couple of lies, then find some Republicans to blame it on, then change the subject.

And if Putin wants to solve the Ukrainian situation by gunning down thousands, he’ll do it, and get away with it.

Russian troops moved into Crimea Friday, U.S. officials told Fox News, prompting Ukraine to accuse Russia of an “armed invasion.”

At the White House, President Obama said the U.S. government is “deeply concerned” by reports of Russian “military movements” and warned any violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty would be “deeply destabilizing.”

“There will be costs” for any military intervention, he said, without specifying what those costs might be.

U.S. officials told Fox News they see “evidence of air and maritime movement into and out of Crimea by Russian forces” although the Pentagon declined to officially “characterize” the movement.

Agence France Press quoted a top Ukranian official as saying Russian aircraft carrying nearly 2,000 suspected troops have landed at a military air base near the regional capital of the restive Crimean peninsula.

“Thirteen Russian aircraft landed at the airport of Gvardeyskoye (near Simferopol) with 150 people in each one,” Sergiy Kunitsyn, the Ukrainian president’s special representative in Crimea, told the local ATR television channel, according to AFP. He accused Russia of an “armed invasion.”
