A French minister has called for Roma gipsies to ‘return to Romania or Bulgaria’ because they don’t integrate well in France.
There have also been demands from other politicians for the two impoverished countries to be ‘locked out’ of European agreements which allow freedom of movement.

Interior minister Manuel Valls’s explosive words yesterday started a wide-ranging debate about the abject failure of EU ‘open border’ immigration policies.
The European Commission immediately threatened sanctions against France for its policy towards the Roma community.

A spokesman insisted everyone from Bulgaria and Rumania was a citizen of the EU and therefore had a right to travel anywhere.
Three years ago the Commission’s vice president, Viviane Reding, sent a similar threat to former president Nicolas Sarkozy, saying that Roma expulsions had to stop.

The row will be of huge interest in the UK, as next year restrictions on Romanians and Bulgarians looking for work are being swept away.
In an interview on the France Inter radio station, Mr Valls said: ‘The Roma should return to Romania or Bulgaria.’

The Socialist Party member added: ‘Yes, we must tell the truth to the French – these populations have a way of life that is extremely different to ours, and they are obviously in confrontation with local populations.’
Illegal Roma camps have sprung up on the edges of major cities such as Paris and Marseille. All have become associated with widespread crime and major health hazards.

‘It is unrealistic to think we will solve the problem of Roma populations only through integration.’
He said there is ‘no alternative but to dismantle these camps and gradually move them across the border’.

And last night he remained defiant in the face of criticism, insisting: ‘The majority [of Roma] should be delivered back to the borders. We are not here to welcome these people.
‘I’d remind you of [former Socialist premier] Michel Rocard’s statement “it’s not France’s job to deal with the misery of the whole world”.’

One of Mr Valls’s own cabinet colleagues, Arnaud Montebourg, also pointed to the fact the minister’s family were migrants from Spain.

Referring to the Schengen agreement which allows people to move across Europe without passport checks, Mr Cope said both Romania and Bulgaria should be excluded.

‘We close our eyes to the French government to what is happening in our country – the constant violence’, he said. ‘This is extremely serious and…it is out of the question that Bulgaria and Romania enter the Schengen area until the problem is resolved at the European level.’

There are an estimated 15,000 Roma gipsies in France. Two years ago the then interior minister, Claude Gueant, claimed the vast majority of street robberies in Paris were carried out by Romanian immigrants.

In case you were wondering…

I’ve been busy running down the proper ‘authorities’ at the VA to do the paperwork for my chosen school. I nixed the IT idea. Too many of those guys are out of work. I’m enrolled in a nine-month course called Precision Machining. I’m learning how to operate metal lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, CAD-CAM (CNC) and how to harden my products.

End of my first week in school. Today (Thursday, 9/26) the teacher (Jack) took us out on the floor, lectured and demonstrated lathes and vertical mills to us, then turned us loose to familiarize ourselves with how to operate five different lathes that range from 1939 to state-of-the-art. Most of this week has been book-learning and (at least in my case) reminding us how to use a micrometer. He let us loose on the vertical mills too, but they are nothing more than glorified routers. Easy.

I seem to be a bit ahead of most of these youngsters—there’s only one guy who might be older than me, the rest are far too young… He’s also the only other guy who took machine shop in high school, which he says he doesn’t remember. High school he doesn’t remember, much less shop! Funny how we both gravitated to the oldest lathes… you know, the ones that were entirely manually-operated. No hydraulics, no partial computer read-outs. Just like all the stuff I worked with in the Navy.

Anyway, seems my woodworking hobby is going to help me. Setting up a Shopsmith is very similar to setting these machines up. The difference? I don’t have to deal with tolerances of +- .005IN in wood. That’s five thousandths of an inch… about the thickness of a hair.

Monday we will actually start working on the lathes. First project? We must grind our own lathe cutting tools before we can do anything else!

The machinist jobs are looking up here in my area. All those machinists who flooded the market when GM and Delphi went under are retiring. Jobs really look good if I’m willing to relocate south.

Ok, I suppose that technically if one is a really strict Christian his dumb sounding statement can be legitimate. However.
Isn’t that taking Christian thought one step beyond the logical?  If it isn’t, then it denies human nature.
So ...  is Christianity in part responsible for the world’s mess?  Nah ... I don’t think so. 
I just think the arch jerk is delusional.

Three fire engines and at least twelve firefighters were mobilised to rescue a teenage girl who was stuck in a child’s swing.

The girl slid herself into the swing in Finsbury Park, north London, yesterday afternoon, but was unable to get out without assistance.

The large contingent of firefighters, who arrived in three separate fire engines, were eventually able to free her after removing the swing from its frame.

It is believed the girl was freed after the firefighters were able to slide the swing off of her legs.

A bystander told MailOnline: ‘She had her hands in her head, embarrassed, and was being filmed by her family and was clearly stuck in the child’s swing.’

‘A lot of firemen had showed up - they were there for about 15 minutes. They took the chains off the swing and managed to slide it off of her.

‘She wasn’t hurt - just embarrassed as there were a lot of people stood by and watching.

‘People were wondering why there were so many fire engines, though.’

A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: ‘We were called just after 6pm yesterday to a child stuck in a swing.

‘We take anything to do with children seriously, and send the correct response for any eventuality.

‘We never know exactly what we’re going to find until we get there, but once we ascertained what it was we were able to free the child from the swing and get our fire engines away quickly.’

‘Two fire engines and a fire rescue vehicle was sent. The rescue unit has specialised cutting equipment and if we are called to someone stuck we may well need to use that.’

Venezuela orders “temporary” takeover of toilet paper factory

A Venezuelan state agency on Friday ordered the temporary takeover of a factory that produces toilet paper in what it called an effort to ensure consistent supplies after embarrassing shortages earlier this year.

Critics of President Nicolas Maduro say the nagging shortages of products ranging from bathroom tissue to milk are a sign his socialist government’s rigid price and currency controls are failing. They have also used the situation to poke fun at his administration on social media networks.

A national agency called Sundecop, which enforces price controls, said in a statement it would occupy one of the factories belonging to paper producer Manpa for 15 days, adding that National Guard troops would “safeguard” the facility.

“The action in the producer of toilet paper, sanitary napkins and disposable diapers responds to the state’s obligation to ensure a steady supply of basic goods for the people,” Sundecop said, adding it had observed “the violation of the right” to access such products.

Calls to the Manpa factory went unanswered.

Government supporters laud efforts by Maduro, the successor to late socialist leader Hugo Chavez, for maintaining tough regulations of private businesses.

They blame unscrupulous merchants for hoarding products to make quick profits, and celebrate the socialist government’s legacy of social assistance programs.

Critics say the shortages of consumer goods are caused by businesses’ inability to import raw materials and machinery because of a shortage of hard currency under the exchange controls.

Ok, how about militant terrorists ?  Wow, talk about PC and walking on eggs.

Once upon a time in a world that if not saner, and I believe it was, a rose by another name was a what?
Once upon a time the Beeb, as the BBC was called and sometimes still is, was the last word in objective reporting. Who,what,where,when and why if known.  It’s said that now the network has a left bias they hardly even try to hide.

I remember listening to the BBC when the staff spoke English. I mean the Queen’s English.  Now however, some of the ppl who do interviews and are part of the news programs have accents that are jarring to the ear.  Forgetting Hollywood, have you ever listened to someone from Scotland try and speak English?  It has been my misfortune from time to time, to call somewhere and find myself at a call center in Scotland.

What I’m trying to say is that there was once a standard but there no longer is.  And so it is here.

The vermin who killed so many innocents in Nairobi must not be called ‘terrorists’ but ... militants.

They were murderous bastards who enjoyed what they did and they caused terror.  So what’s with this militant crap? 

btw .....  there are some reports of rape having occurred as well as the killings, and mutilations.  Not sure yet if that is confirmed.

BBC under fire over guidance preventing reporters from using the word ‘terrorist’ when covering Nairobi massacre

BBC has continually referred to those behind the terror attack as ‘militants’

The BBC has come under fire for referring to the perpetrators of the Kenyan shopping mall massacre as ‘militants’ rather than ‘terrorists’.

In coverage of the violence at the Westgate mall in Nairobi which has killed more than 60 the Corporation’s journalists have repeatedly described the attackers as ‘Islamic militants’.

It is understood that BBC guidance issued to staff tells them to avoid using the term ‘terrorist’ without attribution, but politicians have reacted with anger to the choice of language.

‘Most members of the British public would see the planned and systematic murder of dozens of innocent people in Kenya as terrorism.

‘Sadly, the BBC looks like it has made a bad judgement call on this and is out of touch with ordinary people on a very important issue.’

In four news bulletins this morning, Neal Sleat, newsreader on Radio 4’s today programme, did not use the word ‘terrorist’ once.

Instead he referred to the culprits as ‘Islamic militants’, while reporters on the BBC website describes those responsible as ‘suspected al-Shabab militants’.

The BBC has come under fire before for apparent influence of political correctness on the choice of language in its journalism.

In January it was criticised for calling the gang behind the Algeria hostage killings ‘militants’ rather than ‘terrorists’. Tory MP Andrew Bridgen said he was disappointed that the broadcaster was ‘consistently’ using the term.

The BBC has specific guidance about the word terrorist, warning its reporters that it can imply value judgements. In one report on its website about the attack at BP’s gas plant, it described the killers as ‘militants’ 12 times. The word ‘terrorist’ appeared only in a quote.

Mr Bridgen quizzed David Cameron on the issue and the Prime Minister agreed that he had a ‘good point’. He added: ‘These are terrorists and they should be described as such.’

Prior to that, in 2011’s summer riots, the BBC repeatedly referred to rioters as ‘protesters’ - even as they were filmed looting shops and attacking police.

A schoolboy who raped a six-year-old girl twice has walked free from court despite telling a probation officer ‘I don’t care’ when asked how his young victim felt following her ordeal.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted forcing the girl to carry out a sex act on two occasions, Ipswich Youth Court heard.

But during a meeting with a court official, who was compiling a pre-sentence report, the youth showed no remorse for his victim.

Prosecutor Simon Newell said the boy was asked what he felt about the impact of his crimes on his victim and replied: ‘I don’t care how she feels.’

District Judge Celia Dawson told him that she was not sending him to a secure youth offending unit because she did not want him to be in the company of ‘older and more sophisticated criminals’.

The boy, who lives on the Suffolk and Norfolk border, was given a 12 month referral order and a 12 month restraining order banning him from contacting the victim or her family.

He was also ordered to pay £300 in compensation to the girl, having admitted two counts of rape at an earlier hearing.

The court heard that the boy’s parents took him to a police station when they heard about the sex attack allegations where he admitted what he had done straight away.

Judgee wudgee then went on to make the following erroneous statement.

‘I hope you are aware if you don’t change your attitude you may have very serious problems in the future.’

Opposition to Assad remains widespread. One example of its diversity is the all-female Mother Aisha battalion in Aleppo, comprising former teachers whose members cover their faces as they carry out duties such as reconnaissance.

Rebel leaders in Syria warned last night that gunmen linked to Al Qaeda were undermining the battle to oust tyrant Bashar al-Assad.

Hundreds of rebel fighters are defecting and pledging allegiance to the extremists, according to sources.

Entire units are said to have joined the small but powerful Al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in recent days.

‘This is a sign the radical groups are still growing in power ... this region could fall to the jihadists,’ said an activist in the eastern town of Raqqa, adding: ‘We may see this become a trend.’

At least two entire rebel brigades are said to have joined the Nusra Front in opposition-held Raqqa, which borders Turkey. One of the groups, the Raqqa Revolutionaries, is said to have about 750 fighters.

A video uploaded by activists from Raqqa yesterday showed a massive convoy of fighters on cars and trucks with artillery and machine guns as they waved black flags. The video’s title said it was a newly unified force of Nusra fighters and other rebel battalions which had recently pledged loyalty.

three times the sub

Subbed for the Triples money league again tonight. Hey, free bowling for me.

And it’s super competitive, using the 16 point system instead of the 7 point system. I like it.

I helped the team to big wins the last 2 weeks, and we won big again tonight, 12.5 points out of 16. I covered my man in all 3 games, so I won 4 points for the team, and my scores helped us get the total for games 1 and 3. 177, 183, and then something just clicked and I threw a 255. So that’s my first 250+ game this season, and another 600+ series. So somebody ought to be sending me a couple of those USBC fridge magnets we all love so well.

Greed League tomorrow, where we’ll “discuss” the prize fund schemes.    Hey, at least I tried to get them to see things the right way.

Metal detectors in malls?

I heard on the radio that it’s expected to take decades to solve this problem.  I can believe that as we aren’t fighting a traditional type of war.
And to make matters even worse, there are so damn many lefties that insist concern and worry about muzzies and profiling are all some kind of phobia.  One of the things that bother me greatly, and likely you as well, are the hand wringers and appeasers who insist that when terrorists are caught, and I am not referring to those who are merely (for the moment) suspects, but those actually caught in the planning or commission of an act of terror, the appeasers insist that the vermin “have rights” that must be protected.  Why?  We must not, the bleeding hearts say, sink to their level or they win.  No they don’t.  They’d be bloody well dead. 

Hey ... are you folks aware yet that there are those here, who want to investigate the use of drones controlled from Brit soil and an accounting of who and how many have been killed by drones.  It’s being demanded by some libtard with pull I believe, or some sort of influence anyway, that drone strikes should be made public beyond what they are now.  There’s some concern about possible innocents being killed. Ok, nobody wants to do that. But critics make it appear as if it’s intentional.  They want a war fought ... with more care.  Howya do that?

Well anyway ....  Here’s tomorrow’s headlines today.

Is Gennifer Flowers still making news in the USA?  Cos there was a full page on her in the paper Friday last.

In case you forgot or maybe would like to forget, she’s the woman who some years ago while Clinton was campaigning for the WH, claimed to have had an affair of some long standing with him.  Twelve years in fact. Clinton finally owned up his dalliance with her.  Some 6 years after she said they were an item.

Well now, this really large headline greeted us Friday with a quote from her that says, “I’d still be with Bill Clinton if it hadn’t been for the birth of Chelsea”. 

She still has a crush on the dude? Does anyone care anymore? Did anyone ever care to begin with? Well, except for his wife and now his grown daughter.

What I find interesting though isn’t all of that.  I find it interesting that a paper here would print Flower’s claim that Hillary Clinton is Bi-Sexual.
Woo-hoo.  Did papers in the US pick up this story?

Scientists working on the most authoritative study on climate change were urged to cover up the fact that the world’s temperature hasn’t risen for the last 15 years, it is claimed.

A leaked copy of a United Nations report, compiled by hundreds of scientists, shows politicians in Belgium, Germany, Hungary and the United States raised concerns about the final draft.

Published next week, it is expected to address the fact that 1998 was the hottest year on record and world temperatures have not yet exceeded it, which scientists have so far struggled to explain.

The report is the result of six years’ work by UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is seen as the world authority on the extent of climate change and what is causing it – on which governments including Britain’s base their green policies.

But leaked documents seen by the Associated Press, yesterday revealed deep concerns among politicians about a lack of global warming over the past few years.

Germany called for the references to the slowdown in warming to be deleted, saying looking at a time span of just 10 or 15 years was ‘misleading’ and they should focus on decades or centuries.

Hungary worried the report would provide ammunition for deniers of man-made climate change.

Belgium objected to using 1998 as a starting year for statistics, as it was exceptionally warm and makes the graph look flat - and suggested using 1999 or 2000 instead to give a more upward-pointing curve.

The United States delegation even weighed in, urging the authors of the report to explain away the lack of warming using the ‘leading hypothesis’ among scientists that the lower warming is down to more heat being absorbed by the ocean – which has got hotter.

The last IPCC ‘assessment report’ was published in 2007 and has been the subject of huge controversy after it had to correct the embarrassing claim that the Himalayas would melt by 2035.

It was then engulfed in the ‘Climategate’ scandal surrounding leaked emails allegedly showing scientists involved in it trying to manipulate their data to make it look more convincing – although several inquiries found no wrongdoing.

The latest report, which runs to 2,000 pages, will be shown to representatives from all 195 governments next week at a meeting in Stockholm, who can discuss alterations they want to make.

But since it was issued to governments in June, they have raised hundreds of objections about the 20-page summary for policymakers, which sums up the findings of the scientists.

What it says will inform renewable energy policies and how much consumers and businesses will pay for them.

POSSIBLE THAT TERROR RAID WAS LED BY BRIT WOMAN KNOWN AS THE WHITE WIDOW

Normally I might not copy and post an entire article if it’s too long.  This is an exception to the rule.

Some of our regulars here will know about a white Brit, a woman born and raised here, who married a black muslim and converted and then became a terrorist supporter and killer herself.  Her husband was one of the suicide bombers who carried out the terror attack in London’s tube (subway to us yanks). Known here as 7/7, a smaller scale of course but still, the equivalent to folks here of 9/11 for us.  Anyway ... the slut escaped England somehow, went on the run and was reported to be in Somalia where she escaped arrest by minutes.  She has organized terror attacks and killings and has been described as the deadliest female so far to join the terrorists.

I’m pretty sure you folks are seeing things on TV in the USA.  But I’m not sure if you are getting this slant on it in the press back home.  For people here, she is a local story.

The terror attack on a Kenyan shopping centre that has left 68 dead was being led by the white English widow of a 7/7 bomber, it was claimed last night.
Soldiers said a white woman wearing a veil was shouting orders to gunmen in Arabic during the bloody massacre inside the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi.
Islamist terror group Al Shabaab claimed it carried out the atrocity in which three Britons were killed and 175 people were left injured.
It said last night on Twitter that Samantha Lewthwaite, the ‘white widow’ of London 7/7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, was ‘in their ranks’ and a ‘brave lady’.
Fifteen hostages were still trapped inside the shopping centre after more than 24 hours of carnage.
The attack saw men, women and children slaughtered if they could not recite the Koran or name the mother of the Prophet Mohammed.
As well as boasting Lewthwaite was with them, Al Shabaab claimed two British men from London, Liban Adam, 23, and Ahmed Nasir Shirdoon, 24, were among the ‘holy warriors’ in the attack.
The group is said to be highly organised, with huge amounts of ammunition as well as night vision equipment.

Why the white widow is the prime suspect

Last night, as the bodies were still being counted at the shopping mall, one British woman was notably slow to join the condemnation.
For Samantha Lewthwaite, the daughter of a former British soldier who grew up attending school discos in Buckinghamshire, views these awful events as a cause for jubilation.

Kenyan anti-terror police revealed yesterday that Lewthwaite – who is known to many as the White Widow – may be the brains behind the operation to bring terror to the heart of Kenya, a country once synonymous with the sexual high-jinks of the Happy Valley expatriate set, but rapidly becoming a new battleground in the war between Islamists and the West.

‘I suspect this woman Lewthwaite is behind this attack,’ a senior anti-terror source told me last night as survivors described how a woman in a veil appeared to be commanding the other terrorists as they hunted down and killed non-Muslim shoppers.
The idea that Lewthwaite might have led the assault herself is not far-fetched at all.
Having converted to Islam as a young woman and married a man who went on to be a 7/7 London suicide bomber, she has become a key figure in the terror group behind this weekend’s attack.
Lewthwaite has even been involved in training a group of all-female suicide attackers at camps in lawless neighbouring Somalia.

It is an extraordinary, macabre journey into darkness for the 29-year-old, who grew up as a normal teenager in Aylesbury before meeting Jermaine Lindsay, a British Muslim, in an online chat room when she was 17. The pair married three years later.

When her husband was named as one of four suicide bombers who blew up Tube trains and a bus in 2005, killing 52 people, Lewthwaite initially condemned her late husband’s attack and denied any knowledge of his plan.

This was a lie. More than eight years later, Lewthwaite is one of Al Qaeda’s main recruiters in East Africa and is an official spokesman for Al Shabaab (The People), the terrorist group behind the horror in Nairobi.
As well as railing against ‘infidels in the West’, Lewthwaite had previously used a Twitter account to denounce a rival foreign terrorist in the text-speak of a teenager.
Fyi [for your information] sam lewthwaite thinks u r a irritating obnoxious contemptible little Muj PRAT,’ she wrote. (‘Muj’ is a contraction of mujahideen – a jihadist).

The object of her anger was Omar Shafik Hammami, a former student from Alabama. Last week he was shot dead in an ambush by terrorists loyal to the White Widow.

‘May his fate serve as a lesson to all those who want to follow in his footsteps as a poster boy for jihad,’ Lewthwaite wrote gleefully on Twitter.

To add to her name for ruthlessness, the White Widow did not mention in her tweets that a British man reputed to be her second husband was also killed in the ambush.

Her fearless reputation within Africa’s growing Islamic terror network has been strengthened by her own involvement as a mujahid – or warrior – during a series of bombings and shootings in Kenya’s tourist areas.

Known to her devoted followers as dada muzungu – Swahili for white sister – Lewthwaite moved to Kenya with her three children in 2007.
A small, dumpy woman, she cut off all links with her family in Britain and became immersed in East Africa’s Islamic terror networks, forging links with other British fanatics who had come to Kenya to wage ‘jihad’ against non-believers.
It was last year that details of Lewthwaite’s secret new life emerged in grisly detail.

A white woman, later identified as Lewthwaite, had led a group of terrorists who fired grenades into a bar in Mombasa, the Kenyan coastal tourist resort popular with Britons.
Three people, including a child, were killed and more than 50 injured.
In truth, I was deeply sceptical when news was first leaked two years ago about the White Widow’s alleged role as a terrorist with the group now causing carnage in Nairobi.
Yet now, having spent time among her acolytes in the Islamic stronghold where she once lived near Mombasa, and in briefings with police, prosecutors and senior investigators during subsequent investigations in Nairobi, I have no doubt that Lewthwaite is a cold-blooded killer and a dangerous ideologue.

Senior officers in Kenya have told me they will kill her on sight. So far, however, she has avoided arrest by wearing all-concealing Islamic dress as she has flitted between Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania.

Meanwhile, the group she is allied to continues to wreak havoc in the region.

Even before this weekend’s attack, the activities of Lewthwaite and her fellow terrorists had turned Kenya into a place of fear and paranoia.
Clearly, the White Widow has a taste for blood. It remains to be seen whether she will live long enough to kill again.
