The Real Stuff

Another unpaid product endorsement. Commercial, professional grade cleaners and disinfectants work many times better than anything you can buy in the grocery store, but you have to be smart enough and responsible enough to use them properly. If you aren’t, then leave stuff like this to the professionals.

image

D128 is a professional dual-quaternary disinfectant. It is generally used to disinfect hard non-porous surfaces in kennels, livestock quarters, and operating rooms. Clean the room first to remove large organics - chunks of dirt and poop, etc. - and then spray the area down with this stuff, diluted 1 ounce per gallon. Spray enough so that the area stays wet for 10 minutes.

D128 kills damn near everything at that dilution, and will handle canine parvo at a 4 ounce per gallon dilution.

It is available from most veterinary supply companies, for about $20 per gallon plus 10lb worth of shipping and handling.

It is not generally available for non-professionals, ie it isn’t sold at Home Depot or in the grocery store. It’s serious stuff, and smart use requires gloves and goggles and perhaps a respirator if used in poorly ventilated areas.

Effective against the following pathogens:
Pseudomonas aeruginosa1, Staphylococcus aureus1, Salmonella enterica, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Chlamydia psittaci, Community Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus – CA-MRSA (NRS384) (USA300), Community Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus – CA-MRSA (NRS123) (USA400), Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterococcus faecalis-Vancomycin Resistant (VRE), Escherichia coli1,Fusobacterium necrophorum, Klebsiella pneumoniae1, Legionella pneumophila, Listeria monocytogenes, Pasteurella multocida, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella typhimurium, Serratia marcescens, Shigella flexneri, Shigella sonnei, Staphylococcus aureus-Methicillin Resistant (MRSA), Staphylococcus aureus-Vancomycin Intermediate Resistant (VISA), Staphylococcus epidermidis2, Streptococcus faecalis1, Streptococcus pyogenes, *Adenovirus Type 4, *Adenovirus Type 7

– at 4 oz per gallon,
*Avian Influenza (H5N1), *Avian polyomavirus, *Canine distemper, *Feline leukemia, *Feline picornavirus, *Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), *Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), *Herpes Simplex Type 1, *Herpes Simplex Type 2, *Human coronavirus, *HIV-1 (AIDS virus), *Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, *Infectious bronchitis
(Avian IBV), *Newcastle Disease, *Influenza A/Hong Kong, *Rotavirus, *Pseudorabies (PRV), *Rabies, *Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), *Rubella (German Measles), SARS Associated Coronavirus (SARS) (cause of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), *Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGE), *Vaccinia (Pox Virus), Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans, Trichophyton mentagrophytes (Athlete’s Foot Fungus/A cause of Ringworm of the foot) 1ATCC & Antibiotic - resistant strain 2Antibiotic - resistant strain only

Effective against 99.9% of Influenza A that causes the flu.

Mold, mildew, fungus, and most viruses don’t stand a chance against dual quaternary disinfectants. D128 costs about a quarter of KCT Quat, which uses nearly the same ingredients but at different ratios. It is a violation of federal law to use either product in a manner inconsistent with it’s design.

But holy cow, does this stuff work. It will work fine in moderately hard water (400 ppm) and up to 5% organic/soil contamination. Best bet is to dilute it with distilled water, since you’re spending the money.

what’s yours is hers and what’s hers remains hers

What can anyone add to this?

Do you blame the young mom who really believes it’s all hers, because after all, the system here has told her it’s all free for the taking. And so she is.

She’s old enough of course to know damn well better. But does she truly do know better? Bah. This is a product of a state that has gone overboard and told ppl that they are entitled.  Do you then blame the taker?  Is there much of a difference between her and a corporation like Starbucks, who earn in the BILLIONS but manage to find legal loopholes so they pay miniscule tax in a country making them those billions?  I realize it’s more like apples and oranges but unless the tax people close the loopholes, corporations will quite naturally use them.  In the case of this woman, the state has co-operated with her and perhaps even encouraged her to take full legal advantage of the state. And so she has.  And she isn’t the only one.  There are hundreds of them out there. Maybe thousands.
Her values are surely skewed but who skewed them for her? Who made it oh so easy?  Well, for one, the benefits people themselves. Here’s a quote for you to ponder from the lady herself.

“The people at the Job Centre have actually told me I’m better off on benefits than in a minimum-wage job. It’s the system’s fault. My kids would suffer if I worked. This way, taxpayers know I’m raising two well-brought-up kids.”

But it never occurs to her that it’s being done on other people’s money.

She manages to save a couple thousand to splurge on Christmas gifts.  Never occurs to her who actually own the money she is saving.
It also has not occurred to her that she might look to the future and try and get more of an education. But no. The state has promised her that all would be well.
She became a mother while still almost a kid herself.  What are the chances her two “accidents” won’t follow the same path?

Although it has nothing to do with the story I can’t help but bring it up.
What’s with the made up dumb ass names for her daughters?  And look closely at the photos.  She plays straight into the stereotype.  But we must not say that because to notice the fact is to be raaaaacist.  Not intended but ok. So be it.

Unemployed single mother on benefits who spends £2,000 on Christmas with 20 presents for each of her children

* Leanna Broderick plans to give children designer outfits, iPads and jewellery

* The 20-year-old has never worked and claims nearly £15,500 a year ( $24,974.00 )

* Claims she is better off on benefits and last year saved £2,500 ( just a bit over $4,000.00 )

* Said there was ‘no point’ getting minimum wage job and paying for childcare

By Rosie Taylor

While many families are worrying about how to afford Christmas this year, one jobless single mother has revealed she receives so much in benefits she has £2,000 to spend on designer gifts, clothes and partying.

Mother-of-two Leanna Broderick plans to buy 20 presents for each of her children, including Burberry and Ralph Lauren outfits, iPads and gold jewellery.

The 20-year-old, who has never worked, claims nearly £15,500 a year in state handouts.
image
She claims she is better off on benefits and would not get a job unless she could continue her luxury lifestyle, which includes designer outfits, holidays abroad, clubbing, lunches out and expensive gifts for her daughters Zelekah, two, and Zakirah, one.

‘Last year, I saved £2,500 and my kids had 50 presents each, including Burberry and Ralph Lauren clothes and dolls, DVDs and CDs.

‘This year, I’ve saved £2,000 and they’ll get 20 presents each, including iPads and a new Disney-themed bedroom to share, with designer wall art and bed linen,’ she said.

She is also buying gold earrings for Zelekah, who has pierced ears, and keeping £300 for the sales and £150 for a New Year’s Eve outing.

Miss Broderick, who left school at 16 with no GCSEs, said: ‘I don’t care if people get annoyed. I don’t take advantage, I just choose to save – it’s smart.’

She said there was ‘no point’ earning less in a minimum wage job and having to pay for childcare on top.

I’ll stay on benefits and get as much as I can out of it.’

After becoming pregnant at 17 with her on-off 23-year-old boyfriend, Miss Broderick was allocated a temporary three-bed council house.

When Zelekah was eight months old she considered working in care, but then became pregnant again by the same man.

Now split from the girls’ father, she has a new two-bedroom council flat in Croydon, South London, with a garden, which is paid for by her £111 weekly housing benefit – part of £1,290 a month total claim.

She said: ‘I didn’t want to miss out on my kids’ childhoods or have someone else raise them. I’m not one of those girls who gets pregnant for the benefits.’

The money for Christmas comes from the £250 she saves each month, which she said shows she is ‘really responsible’.

She adds: ‘Anyone who thinks people on benefits don’t deserve nice things is talking rubbish. I work 24/7 as a mother.

‘This way, taxpayers know I’m raising two well-brought-up kids.’

But she admits Christmas might not be so lavish next year because of the Government’s benefit cuts.

‘I’m not against the cuts, but only if the Government helps me find a job,’ she said.

‘In the meantime, I’ll stay on benefits and get as much as I can out of it.’

And where is the daddy in all of this?
Most likely unemployed himself and on benefits as well, so no hope of child support there.

hark comrades, glorious allies to gather for freedom and smite newest foe. who’s next?

This front page greeted us this morning.

I’ve already done my rant on the subject, maybe too often.  It’s one of those non rocket science events where this sort of thing was expected.

So this is all there is for this post.

It’s nice that us and our most glorious former empires are not going to set boots on the ground. Of course, we can afford it. Money no problem.
Just take it from the public who always have plenty of spare cash to toss at various foreign adventures. It’s all for democracy so nobody will mind.

John Galt Is Laughing

The first of what I hope is an infinite number of “Told Ya So, Assholes” posts, as the evil swamp dragon of reality rises up out of the fiscal ooze to bite a bunch of leftards in the buttocks.

This one, h/t to The Rot

Despite Tax Increase, California State Revenues in Freefall

California State Controller John Chiang has announced that total state revenue for the month of November 2012 fell $806.8 million, or 10.8%, below budget.

Democrats thought they could hammer “the rich” by convincing voters to pass Proposition 30 to create the highest state income tax in the nation. But it now appears that high income earners have already “voted with their feet” by moving themselves and their businesses out of state, resulting in over $1 billion shortfall in corporate and income taxes last month and the beginning of a new financial crisis.

As panic spreads that goosing taxes on the rich may have created enough “tax flight” that the California will actually collect less taxes, there was welcome news that a business had committed to opening in the State. Executives of the 99 Cents Only Stores Inc. proclaimed they would be opening a new location in Beverly Hills on formerly posh Rodeo Drive.

Yeah, and all 4 employees at the Dollar Store will get minimum wage. The manager makes a whole 50¢/hr more.

C’mon Boner, don’t blink, don’t cry, don’t wobble. Let Ocommie drive us over this Fiscal Cliff and then the next one and then the one after that. Let it all crash and burn. And keep that secession movement going. Just make sure to trim off the loser bandwagon states first. The solid blue ones with the humongous welfare spending. Or at least the coastal parts of them, which is where >80% of that EBT and SNAP money goes.

Oldest carving of pharaoh discovered in Egypt

image

The oldest-known representations of a pharaoh are carved on rocks near the Nile River in southern Egypt, researchers report.

The carvings were first observed and recorded in the 1890s, but only rediscovered in 2008. In them, a white-crowned figure travels in ceremonial processions and on sickle-shaped boats, perhaps representing an early tax-collecting tour of Egypt.

The scenes place the age of the carvings between 3200 B.C. and 3100 B.C., researchers report in the December issue of the journal Antiquity. During that time, Egypt was transitioning into the dynastic rule of the pharaohs.

,” in Egypt, study researcher Maria Gatto told LiveScience.

A hieroglyph labels this scene a “nautical following,” a likely reference to the following of Horus, Gatto said. In this periodic royal jaunt across Egypt, the pharaoh cemented power and collected taxes. Thus, not only do the carvings represent the oldest known vision of a pharaoh, they may also show the oldest Egyptian tax campaign.

The style of the carvings and hieroglyphics place the creation of the images around 3200 B.C. to 3100 B.C., Gatto said. This would have been the reign of Narmer, the first pharaoh to unify Upper and Lower Egypt.

Based on the symbols of power and control in the carvings, Gatto and her colleagues believe the artwork came from the first part of Narmer’s reign, before he unified both parts of Egypt.

“It seems that for Narmer it was important first to settle the situation in the South, to control the South, and then apparently move to the North, and at that time he unified Egypt and we have the first dynasty,” Gatto said.

Wow, First Dynasty. The only depiction of Narmer up to now has been on that make-up pallet thing, the one where he’s smiting everybody left and right. This is cool.

So a good “A” deserves and equally good “R”:

pt2 stupid is really on the march on this side of the pond these days. proof right here.

There are all sorts of things than can be said about this. Besides stupid. So here I am trying to think of something, and I can’t find the words.  I’d even settle for funny, although it really isn’t.
These folks have to be mad. How many religions can they cater to? Jeesh. What stupid question. It’s catching I tell ya.

Prisoners are given dreadlock holiday: Hundreds of convicts allowed four days off prison work a year to celebrate Rastafarian festivals

By Daily Mail Reporter

image

Hundreds of criminals are to be allowed four days off prison work every year to celebrate Rastafarian festivals.

Prison governors have been issued with a list of holy days on which Rastafarian inmates must be excused their normal tasks.

On some they will be allowed to hold communal worship, and they may be provided with special food prepared by the prison kitchens.

Rastafarians, best known for their distinctive dreadlocks and their use of marijuana or ‘holy herb’ to produce ‘spiritual’ highs, believe the former King of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie, who died in 1975, is God.

The festivals that inmates will be allowed to observe include ‘The Earthday/Birthday of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I’ on July 23. They will also be excluded from work on May 5 so they can celebrate the ‘victorious return’ of Selassie to his throne in Ethiopia in 1941 after ‘the time of his exile in Britain’.

Rastafarian prisoners will be allowed the day off to celebrate the anniversary of the coronation of Selassie on November 2 and the Ethiopian Christmas – January 7.

The new Ministry of Justice guidelines, issued last month, state: ‘The Prison Service is committed to ensuring prisoners from all religious faiths are given the opportunity and facilities to practise their religions.’

They add that relevant staff, including ‘race equality officers/diversity officers’, must be made aware of the new information about Rastafarian rights.

Prisons are told they must prepare specific foods if it is a requirement of a prisoner’s religion. Rastafarianism was recognised as a religion by the Prison Service a few months ago after campaigns led by poet Benjamin Zephaniah. It has between 200,000 and 800,000 followers worldwide.

A Prison Service spokesman said it had been recognized as a religion following recommendations by the Prison and Probation Ombudsman.

What it is, is a con, and white folks like these are just stupid enough to buy into it.
And all to prove how fair and fair minded they are.

Phoenix With A Side Of Fries

image

Ok, I admit ... living in an upstairs unit of a condo for more than a decade has completely atrophied my grilling skills ...

And I’ve never had a gas grill before ...

And we bought a cheap one, which is probably more full of hotspots than one of the reactors at Chernobyl ...

And this is my first time actually trying to grill something in the daylight, but since it’s finally stopped raining for a few minutes (after a steady week of dark, soggy, and dank) I just had to try ...

And the wife buys these enormous chicken thighs, which seem to be made of skin, bone, and fat ...

But DAMN. What The Hell I am cooking out there, Phoenix soaked in gasoline?

Crivens. Get the grill hot, put the chicken thighs on. Instant conflagration. Foom!

Move the chicken to the top rack, further away from the heat. Foom! All this does is give me taller flames.

Turn off the grill, take the bird parts off, and watch the bottom of the grill continue to burn for a solid five minutes. WTF? I’d just cooked the thing clean yesterday; what’s down there left to burn?

Ok. Fine. Relight the grill, put it on ultra low, and put the chicken in the front. Phew, no flames. But it’s going to take forever this way. I could rub the pieces together and cook them faster via friction.

Maybe if I could turn the heat up just a little ...

FOOM.

Damn. Guess I’ve got to learn the secret. In the meantime ... hey, carbon is good for you, right?

LOL

Stupid is really on the march on that side of the pond these days huh.  pt1

First I need to thank RichK for the headline. Yeah, he used it in a comment on another subject entirely unrelated to this. But look, look how well it fits.

In my day, of really good radio and comedians who could be funny without the use of four letter words, and vocals that didn’t scream and could land on key, in the bad old days, we had a program called, “The march of Time.”
Was it good?  I don’t remember.  I only mention it because of the headline Rich dropped on us.

So from that I go to Stupid On The March.  Or maybe The march of stupid. No.I think the first.

Anyway, today has been a busy and stress filled one, add to that like a damn puppy dog I just HAD to overeat tonight and feel like. Ah. Never mind. It was a far, far stupid thing of me to do, but nowhere near as schupid as the following articles.

Take a look at this bit of insane political correctness. And hey. It gets worse in the next story.

The stupid march on Sweden.

Children banned from dressing up as gingerbread men… because school says costumes are racist

By Daily Mail Reporter

Schoolchildren in Sweden have been banned from dressing up as gingerbread men for a Christmas parade because their teachers fear the costumes could be considered racist.

Youngsters from a primary school in Laxa told their parents they had been ordered not to wear the outfits for the St Lucia celebrations on Thursday.

Traditionally, children dress as either St Lucia, or gnomes, stars, or gingerbread men for the candle-lit parade.

But heartbroken 10-year-old Mio Simiv was told he could not wear his gingerbread man costume to the celebration because it might be seen as ‘offensive’.

Angry mum Jenny Simic told local media: ‘I thought he had to have got it wrong so I called the school and they said people might find a brown gingerbread character offensive.

‘I said, well then my son won’t participate. He won’t support some Ku Klux Klan procession - because that’s what the little Lucias look like when they all come in with white hoods and white dresses.’

image

She later sent a text message to Mio’s teacher to see if the ban still stood.

She received the response: ‘I know what you think and what you’re writing. Unfortunately we have no gingerbread men or songs in our procession! We cannot offer gingerbread cookies because of allergies among pupils.’

A school spokesman blamed the row on a ‘misunderstanding’.

District schools head Marghareta Zetterlund claimed: ‘The children and their teachers chose the songs for the parade and they didn’t chose the gingerbread boy song, so there will be no gingerbread boys.

‘We don’t serve gingerbread cookies because of possible nut allergies. I can’t comment on who might find the costumes offensive,’ she added.

But Mrs Simiv said: ‘This is not what we were told at all. There was no misunderstanding, this is just an excuse.’

‘Why should they remove these things from a traditional celebration just because someone might be offended? You could turn that around and ask, “Why are we removing it? Aren’t brown people like us, or what? Can’t they participate?“‘

China Buys US Battery Company For A Quarter Billion

Which Just Went Bankrupt After A Quarter Billion Stimulus Grant

Gee, it smells like old halibut in here, don’t it?

Wanxiang Group Co., China’s biggest auto-parts maker, agreed to buy most of electric car battery maker A123 Systems Inc. (AONEQ) for $256.6 million, outbidding Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI) in a U.S. bankruptcy auction.

The agreement is for assets including A123’s automotive, grid and commercial business, though it excludes the Waltham, Massachusetts-based company’s military contracts, A123 said in a statement yesterday.
...
Wanxiang is seeking A123’s battery technology, used in Fisker Automotive Inc.’s Karma sedan, as China pushes its companies to develop electric vehicles. An earlier accord with the Chinese company was scrapped in October, when A123 said it filed for bankruptcy protection and agreed to sell its automotive assets to Johnson Controls.

Waltham, Mass.-based A123 (Nasdaq: AONE) has a contract to install a grid battery system for Maui Electric Co., a subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. (NYSE: HE) subsidiary Hawaiian Electric Co., at the utility’s Wailea Substation as part of the Maui Smart Grid Project.

The company also has a contract to supply an 11-megawatt grid battery system for the Auwahi Wind project that Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE) is building at Ulupalakua Ranch on Maui.

“The work you’re doing will help power the American economy for years to come.”

-- President Obama in a Sept. 13, 2010 phone call to battery maker A123 Systems, congratulating the firm on using the bulk of a $249 million government grant to open new facilities in Michigan.

President Obama travels to Detroit today to talk about the need for increased taxes on top earners to finance federal spending, and is using an announcement of a $100 million investment from German auto giant Daimler to illustrate that his economic prescription is working.

Obama is not likely to discuss another big business story of the day – the sale of the assets of battery maker A123 to a Chinese competitor. A123 spent at least $132 million of its $249 million stimulus package grant to build two Detroit-area factories, including one in Livonia, right next door to Redford Township, where Obama is speaking today.

Assuming a bankruptcy judge and the Obama Treasury Department approve of the sale of A123’s assets to Wanxiang Group, the Chinese battery maker would immediately become the dominant force in the industry.

So for $256.6 million, the Chinese firm would get all that the stimulus package purchased plus the company’s existing operations in Massachusetts and Missouri and have the chance to pare down the company to profitability without the overhead of A123’s debt.

Plus, it gets even better!

An additional irony: Whatever share of the original $249 million stimulus grant that the Treasury borrowed from China will still have to be paid back.

A quarter billion dollars given to them for free and two years later they’re in bankruptcy? Holy shit. Better get A123’s top management working for the government ASAP - those guys are even more on the ball than Turbo Tax Timmy!

Wanxiang’s winning bid came only one day after the Canadian government approved a controversial deal allowing China’s state-owned oil company CNOOC (0883.HK) to buy energy company Nexen Inc (NXY.TO) for $15.1 billion.

Hmm. China owns the oil, the gas, the solar, the batteries, the steel, the nickel, the heavy metals, ...

we were supposed to be their ally! I dread to think who they send to countries they don’t like

While on the subject of America. Briefly.
Obama wins friends and influences people?
Have to think about that.

This little aside made in the Amanda Platell column, refers to rumours that Wintour would come to London as an ambassador. For those who do not know who she is, well, it seems to be common knowledge that the Movie The Devil Wears Prada, was based on her. She is the editor and absolute ruler of Vogue.

As a reward for raising millions for his election campaign, President Obama is said to be considering making Vogue’s reviled editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, U.S. ambassador to Britain.

And I thought we were supposed to be their ally!

I dread to think who they send to countries they don’t like.

From Platell’s People, Daily Mail

Now however, it’s said she’s being considered for Paris.
Have to wonder how this can be the truth. Firstly, it is Mail gossip so far. I think. But more importantly, what experience does she have AND even more important.
If any of you know anything about the French, you already know the following.

THE FRENCH HATE WITH UNBRIDLED PASSION, ANYONE WHO VISITS THEIR COUNTRY AND DOES NOT SPEAK THE LANGUAGE.
I’d go so far as to say the French can not abide anyone, anywhere, who can not speak French. LOL

Here’s a taste. Bon appétit

‘She presides over the fashion business with the imperial hauteur of a Prussian general and expects instant, unquestioning obedience.
‘It’s hard to imagine a personality less suited to the world of international diplomacy. She left school at 16 and has been working in fashion ever since. Obama’s chauffeur probably knows more about international relations than her. It’s like Caligula making his horse a senator.’
One fashion editor in London said: ‘It’s incredible the most powerful nation on Earth should even consider appointing the least diplomatic woman on Earth as an envoy. She is joyless and intimidating.’

How Michelle Obama is backing fashion queen ‘Ambassador’ Anna Wintour all the way - to Paris, NOT London (despite the fact she speaks little French)

By Daily Mail Reporter

Anyone doubting the veracity of Washington rumours that Anna Wintour, the famously icy fashion queen of New York City, will soon become a high-profile American ambassador in Europe should look no further for substantiation than the archives of Vogue magazine.

image

In March 2009, the magazine – ruled by Wintour as her personal fiefdom – devoted its cover and eight glossy pages inside to an interview with the new First Lady Michelle Obama alongside a fabulously glamorous set of photographs shot by legendary portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The ‘Michelle Obama Edition’ hit the newsstands with the glowing headline The First Lady The World’s Been Waiting For – and transformed her public image at a stroke.

When she first appeared on the political stage, Michelle was dismissed as a slightly awkward, intellectual lawyer: an angrier, African-American version of the young Hillary Clinton. But when Vogue was finished with her, Michelle was recreated as a softly elegant global fashion icon and role model: a perfect Jackie to her husband’s JFK for a multi-racial age.

The Vogue cover was the culmination of a year of hard work by the ambitious and hard-working Ms Wintour, a committed Democratic Party fundraiser who spotted the White House potential of the Obamas when Barack was still regarded as a rank outsider.

Now highly placed diplomatic sources in Washington have revealed Michelle is driving the campaign to reward Ms Wintour by making her an ambassador to Paris. The move has been greeted by astonishment on this side of the Atlantic, particularly because of Ms Wintour’s reputation as a capricious ice maiden.

Indeed her legendary frostiness, which earned her the soubriquet Nuclear Wintour, seems at odds with the art of international diplomacy.
She is known for frequent angry outbursts. Her chilly demeanour is made all the more intimidating by her love of dark glasses – even indoors.

British journalist Toby Young – who satirised his five-year stint in New York with Conde Nast, the magazine company that publishes Vogue, in the book and film How To Lose Friends And Alienate People – said: ‘She presides over the fashion business with the imperial hauteur of a Prussian general and expects instant, unquestioning obedience.

Tales of Wintour’s capriciousness are legion. When she hosted the Evening Standard theatre awards in London last month, she demanded gold chairs, gold cutlery and a 22ft yew hedge be installed inside the venue. She asked for the temperature to be turned down, that a guest who arrived with her baby be removed and summarily cancelled dessert.

At a New York fashion ball at the Metropolitan Museum she asked to be informed about the size of the knots on the ties of the waiters.

She put noses out of joint two years ago by giving a speech at a London Fashion Week soiree at No 10, rather than leaving it to a British fashion leader. Samantha Cameron was said to be so terrified of her that she acquiesced immediately. (Samantha Cameron is the wife of the Prime Minister)

I heard on the radio that the US didn’t sign on to this.  Hope that’s all there is to it but, being somewhat cynical and not having much faith in the word of politicians and especially this administration, I really don’t know.  In other words, I should say little as I clearly would not know what the hell I was talking about when it comes to the deeply scientific stuff.  Mostly I hear from the folks who want to ban cars from downtown and make all sorts of claims with regard to planet poisoning and of course, saving the children of the next generation from choking to death on carbon fumes.  Locally, they may be small in number but they make far more noise than they deserve. And they are very quick to shout down opposition cos we all know folks on the other side of this argument are Nazis and anti social types and money ppl who are not interested in anything but profit.

So anyway, I caught this article and wondered if by chance America has missed being hit by this left wing bullet. But reading further I found this disquieting quote.

vital step towards a new global pact meant to be agreed in 2015 and enter force five years later, which will for the first time set legally-binding targets for every nation, including China, India and the US.

AND the USA?
So, we’ve joined or on the brink of joining the EU?  OK not that and yeah, that is meant with extreme unpleasantness and in a snide manner.

Britain poised to sign costly climate deal that could tie us into stringent new emissions targets

By Nick McDermott

Britain is set to sign a new international climate treaty which could require us to meet stringent — and expensive — new emission targets.

After a fortnight of fraught negotiations between 194 nations at the UN climate talks, which are expected to conclude in the early hours of today, a deal to replace the historic Kyoto Protocol is almost on the table.

Under the deal, Europe is committed to cutting its emissions by a fifth by 2020, with each member state set an individual target. But Liberal Democrat Energy Secretary Ed Davey is supporting a bid to raise that pledge even further later this decade, which would force Britain’s to reduce greenhouse gases by up to a quarter more than the current ambitious level of 34 per cent.

The UK has already pledged £2.9 billion to support windfarms in Africa and greener agriculture in Colombia, known as climate aid, over a four-year period ending in 2015.

And only last month, the Government announced a green energy strategy which will treble the costs levied on power bills from £2.35billion a year to £7.6billion. So any further environmental pledges would likely prove unpopular at home.

Peter Bone, Conservative MP for Wellingborough, said: ‘We need to expand our economy and focus on growth, and we won’t do that by increasing the cost of power and signing up to increased targets.

Can it get any dumber?  Can it get any more crazy? What’s with this govt.?  Windfarms where? And is that figure right? Almost $4 BILLION. And “climate aid” for who?  They are cutting services left and right and falsely claiming that, “We are all in this together.” Oh come on. There isn’t one single solitary person anywhere in the UK who actually believes that BS.  Not even the left are that stupid and self delusional. As usual, the bureaucrats are telling lies.
Sure thing England. Tighten your belts some more so that the govt. can grab the cash to make friends in Africa and Columbia. What utter tosh. Rubbish.

‘A lot of carbon targets could be met in the future with new technologies, so by signing this deal we are just handicapping ourselves and hard-working families.’

The new pact has already come under fire for lacking any real ambition as it is only expected to cover a mere sixth of the world’s polluters — Europe, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Ukraine and tiny Lichtenstein — but does not require action from the biggest emitters, the US and China.

To fulfil Europe’s commitment to reduce emissions by a fifth by 2020 compared to 1990, the UK must produce 34 per cent less carbon dioxide. This is the same figure set out under British domestic law.

A clause within the new agreement will allow signatories to set tougher legally-binding targets for 2020 later this decade.

If Europe raises its ambition to a 30 per cent reduction — a pledge supported by Mr Davey — Britain would face much tougher and more expensive green commitments, with estimated emission cuts of 42 per cent needed.

A DECC spokesperson said: ‘This is speculation as the final text of the agreement has not yet been decided.

‘If this scenario does occur, it would commit all parties in the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol to review their level of ambition by a set date. This date has not yet been finalised.’

Speaking yesterday between negotiations, Mr Davey said: ‘That money has actually helped change the dynamics of these negotiations. Our early pledging of that money has catalysed others.’

The new deal is seen as a vital step towards a new global pact meant to be agreed in 2015 and enter force five years later, which will for the first time set legally-binding targets for every nation, including China, India and the US.

The goal of the UN talks in Doha, Qatar, is to keep temperatures from rising more than 2C, compared with pre-industrial times — the level scientists say is needed to prevent dangerous climate change.

I found this photo caption amusing.

Qatar has come in for criticism as it has so far failed to set clear targets for reducing its own emissions, despite having the world’s highest per capita carbon footprint

Right. Go after those Arabs you gween activists.

HERE FOR THE REST

On the other side of things there was this. I’ve done a lot of editing for space so see link for all. Pretty interesting stuff.

Thought we were running out of fossil fuels? New technology means Britain and the U.S. could tap undreamed reserves of gas and oil

By Nigel Lawson

Blackpool is sitting on one of the biggest shale gas fields in the world with a reserve of 200 trillion cubic feet lying under the Lancastrian countryside.

sections of U.S. manufacturing are even repatriating their activities from China.

Sadly, however, Europe’s leaders have wholly failed to face up to this energy revolution and many European policy-makers are blocking shale gas developments.

There are a mere two dozen test drills around Europe, compared with an estimated 35,000 fracturing sites in the U.S.

As a result, instead of benefiting from cheap shale gas, new industries and hundreds of thousands of new jobs, Europe is constraining itself with self-imposed green limits to growth.

This is despite the fact that gas-fired power stations emit roughly half the carbon dioxide that coal-fired power stations do, which is why the U.S. is the only country to have significantly reduced its CO2 emissions in recent years.

By going for those green energy targets, countries such as France and Germany are making their energy-intensive industries increasingly uncompetitive. Germany’s largest companies have warned that they are already losing out against their U.S. competitors thanks to rising energy costs.

a futuristic face?

I have been writing a bit under the comments section on how I see the future.  Bleak house says it. Or to use SDKAR’s word, catastrophic. I think he used it ot close.  I read the news and hear it on radio and listen to people around me and okay I admit it, sometimes I get a chance to eavesdrop like the last time I was at the bus station in town, many months ago, and simply listened more to some folks talking about the state of their country and the world in general.
So I guess I’m not the only one who thinks things have already gone to the dogs.  And not just any dogs. Stupid and stupid looking dogs. Like my hated neighbor’s flea farm.

More and more and more people are coming to these shores who simply do not fit and will never do so. They are NOT the kind of immigrants that once graced this place and made improvements and brought innovation.
The country has changed in other ways as well.  The easy acceptance of a more decadent culture. A society that isn’t really shocked by violent movies and video games where blood runs free but god forbid some actress or model shows a bit more tit than good taste demands. Even that isn’t the end of civilization.
But the death of the west and especially this country is in the cards unless they restrict the kind of immigrant flooding their shores.
They arrive in droves and the pansy-assed politicians do nothing but debate and talk and make noises. And they still come and they breed. Oh boy do they breed.
The racial make up of this country will be altered to a point where if you came back in a thousand years, you might never know it had once been a white and Christian country.  Chances are it might be a muslim one by then.
Anyway, here’s my take on what most immigrants will look like and many might well be like.

Take a look. And be afraid.

Taxi driver who knocked down eight men by driving cab ‘like a bowling ball’ after row is jailed for 15 years

Majid Rehman ploughed into six railmen and two innocent passers-by after a petty dispute

The 29-year-old sent ‘bodies flying in all directions’ during the attack in Wales

By Amanda Williams

A taxi driver has today been jailed for 15 years yesterday for mowing down eight men ‘like a bowling ball’ with his black cab.

Majid Rehman, 29, deliberately used his car to run over the men walking on a pavement after a row at a railway station taxi rank.

A court heard how furious Rehman deliberately ran a red light and drove ‘at speed’ towards six railworkers as they walked home from the station, just yards from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Shocked commuters watched as his cab ploughed into the six railmen and two innocent passers-by in rush hour carnage.

Judge Phillip Richards told him: ‘You sent bodies flying in all directions, one being trapped under your car.

‘Your intent was to cause them all serious harm. It was intolerable behaviour in a civilised society.’

The court heard Rehman was on the taxi rank outside Cardiff Central train station when a row flared with the railway workers.

Prosecutor Claire Wilks said: ‘Six of the men were leaving the train station wearing high visibility orange suits as they walked away from the train station. Along the way some of the group began to argue with Rehman.

Two innocent men Mark Underwood and Richard Partridge were walking in front of the group on the pavement - and had nothing to do with the railmen.

Miss Wilks said: ‘As they walked away from the railway station, Rehman drove his taxi, and in a rage, mounted the pavement and collided with the group of eight men.

‘It was a deliberate manouvre at some speed, knocking them down like a bowling ball knocking over pins in an alley.

‘Some of the men were more fortunate than others.

‘Mark Underwood was trapped under the taxi and suffered significant burns to his back, legs and arms as he was wedged under the hot engine.

‘It was a chaotic scene, emotions were running high, and Rehman was pulled out of his taxi and assaulted.’

The jury was shown CCTV footage of the taxi mounting the curb at 14mph outside Cardiff central train station on March 27.

Mr Underwood needed extensive skin grafts to his back and is still receiving treatment.

Rehman told officers at the scene he drove towards the group of men after being attacked by the railworkers on the taxi rank outside a main railway station.

He told police officers at the scene: ‘No one drives at people for nothing. They assaulted me and it was in self defence.’

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
