Some news from my home state. Grumble. Yeah. California. Hey, be nice.

Right I know. Land of fruits and nuts.
And muslims too.

H/T LyndonB

I’m sorry nobody with a gun was there to shoot the bastard graveyard dead. Easy peasy. Just claim the fear of a bomb or a weapon. What jury would convict?
But no.  He’ll get an interpreter at public expense of course.  Then a trial although I will never understand why anyone should be entitled to one of those in circumstances like this one.  He was there.  There are witnesses.  He did what he did.  What’s left to discover?  A bullet would have been cheaper.

We really do desperately NEED Vigilante Justice!  It worked beautifully in 1849 in that state.  It can work again.  It just needs a chance.

Man arrested for ‘anti-Christian mall disturbance’ to appear in court again Thursday Deputy DA keeps bail at $27K, orders Hasim to stay away from Stoneridge Shopping Center

by Emily West
Pleasanton Weekly Staff

Deputy District Attorney Ronda Theisen requested the bail for Abdul Walid Hamid stay at $27,000 as the 22-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday morning on charges of battery, grand theft, exhibition of a deadly weapon and a possible hate crime.

Police arrested 22-year-old Hamid of Hayward Wednesday evening after he reportedly robbed a man and scared others at Stoneridge Shopping Center.

Calling it a bizarre case, Theisen also asked that Hamid, who is still in custody, be ordered to stay out of the mall if he does post bail and leaves jail.

Through an interpreter, Hamid requested a public defender and was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Thursday where he is expected to enter a plea.

According to reports, Hamid was yelling “Allah is power” and “Islam is great” while holding a pen in a fist over his head and witnesses said he had been shouting anti-Christian comments.

Pleaanton Police Lt. Mike Elerick said the man was not provoked and didn’t threaten violence, but he committed robbery when he grabbed and broke a crucifix off a man’s neck.

Police said they weren’t aware of a prior criminal history for the man.

“We had multiple people calling 911,” Elerick said. “One female was crouching down and hiding from him. He definitely scared quite a few people.”

AN EDITORIAL COMMENT BY THE MAIL , on paying killer immigrants to go home.

Perhaps I should have posted this first and then the following article. No matter.  This editorial says it all far better then I could and is well worth reading.

This grotesque bribe sums up 38 years of folly

By Mail On Sunday Comment

What an unhinged world we live in, where actions that would normally seem ridiculous are the only sensible solution to a problem.

The British Government has ‘bribed’ a particularly nasty convicted child-killer to forgo her legal right to appeal against her immediate expulsion from the country.

Many would say that the use of taxpayers’ hard-earned money for such a cynical purpose is wrong and that the killer should be bundled straight from prison to the nearest international airport and frogmarched on to the cheapest flight home that can be found.

That would be justice, as many of us understand it and would like to see it done. But such justice is not available in modern Britain.

The Ministers and officials involved in this scheme plead that they must choose between two unpleasant possibilities. We can house and feed this felon while she drags out a lengthy series of appeals. Or we can pay her a lump sum to go away and never come back.

In this case, the apparently ludicrous decision to offer her money for ‘reintegration’ makes a rather strange sort of sense.

Our resentment should be directed against the many parliaments and governments that have passed the ten or more Acts of Parliament, going back to 1971, that created these circumstances in the first place. These are the laws under which people who should not be here manage to delay or prevent their lawful removal.

Some were introduced for reasons of short-term expediency. Some originate in a deep desire to turn this country into a multicultural society. Some arise from a Utopian desire for ‘freedom of movement’.

Most reflect the modern obsession with recently invented Human Rights. Thanks to these influences, successive governments have forgotten their duty to guard the national borders.

Now we see, in this grotesque handout, the indefensible but inevitable result of this folly.

Every successful human society has flourished behind well-defended borders. In an unequal world, you cannot have liberty, prosperity, a compassionate welfare state and the rule of law, unless you restrict access to them.

Those who have repeatedly made this simple point have for years been disdained and ignored by the new Establishment, who have claimed to be the ‘civilised’ side of the debate.

Now we see where their ‘civilisation’ has got us.

Immigrant baby killer is paid £4,500 ‘bribe’ to quit Britain. It’s called the justice system. R

Last week a drunk driving a stolen car was given six years for killing two women.
This bag of total poo got what? Read on.  See the link for the full story although this pretty much says it all.

There’s just no understanding how courts arrive at the jail terms they hand out.  If this isn’t a death penalty case then I have never heard of one.

Real justice would be having her know what it feels like, by doing the same to her.
Oh yeah ... why manslaughter? Where did that come from?  Right. She didn’t think she might actually kill the kid by what she did. I still call it murder in this case. Whatever .... she doesn’t deserve money. She deserves a like death.

Fury as immigrant baby killer is paid £4,500 ‘bribe’ to quit Britain

By Brendan Carlin
15th November 2009

Agnes Wong swung the baby by his ankles and smashed his head

image

An immigrant convicted of the horrific killing of a 17-month-old baby has been given £4,500 by the Government as a ‘bribe’ to leave the country.

Malaysian Agnes Wong, 29, was jailed for five years in 2008 for the brutal manslaughter of a toddler she was supposed to be child-minding.

She was let out of prison in July this year, and two weeks ago was put on a plane at Heathrow and sent to Malaysia with a ‘voucher’ worth £4,500 to spend when she got there.

Wong was jailed after a court heard how she had swung the boy, Hugo Wang, by his ankles and smashed his head. He died of brain injuries.

Wong’s payment has sparked disbelief and outrage, coming just days after the Prime Minister said he understood the public’s mounting concerns over immigration.

Tory immigration spokesman Damian Green said: ‘Only last week, Gordon Brown said he “gets it” on immigration but this is proof he doesn’t get it. For an immigrant who killed a child to get taxpayers’ money to help with her future life is nothing short of appalling.’

Mr Green demanded to know why Wong had not been automatically deported without a penny of public money.

‘Even while Labour repeatedly boasted about introducing automatic deportation for people like this, it now appears they have been using public money to help people get round that very system,’ he said.

The horrific story of Hugo’s last hours caused national revulsion when Wong’s sadistic behaviour was exposed in court.

The unregistered childminder, who came to the UK in 2003, was paid £120 a week to look after Hugo in her home in Salford, Greater Manchester, while the boy’s parents worked 16 to 20 hours a day to make ends meet.

She was accused of waging a ‘regime of terror’ against him, torturing him with a hairdryer and hitting him so hard with a ruler that it snapped.

Hugo died in January 2007, a day after he was taken, unconscious, to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

He had been struck with such force that his brain had shifted in his skull and caused internal bleeding. Doctors also found bite and burn marks on his body.

Wong, who denied murder, was found guilty of manslaughter but was sentenced in May 2008 to just five years in prison.

The Mail on Sunday has now learned that Wong served only the minimum jail term of two-and-half years, including her time in custody before and during the trial.

Just two weeks ago, she was deported to Malaysia under a controversial ‘Facilitated Returns Scheme’ under which foreign prisoners are paid up to £5,000 if they agree to leave the UK as early as possible without fighting their deportation using human-rights laws or by claiming asylum.

So far, around 1,000 have left the UK and been given the money.

It is not known for certain whether Wong - who used the anglicised name Agnes, although her Malaysian name is Siew Teng - entered Britain legally or illegally. However, any immigrant who commits a serious crime can forfeit their right to remain in Britain and can be deported.

David Wood, the UK Border Agency’s director of criminality and detention, defended the scheme, saying: ‘We don’t want foreign criminals in the UK. Every day that we can get these individuals out of the country early removes the risk they present to UK citizens and saves our taxpayers more than £100 a night in detention costs as well as administrative and court costs.’

As Wong boarded a plane at Heathrow on November 2 bound for Kuala Lumpur, immigration officials handed her a letter confirming that she was entitled to a ‘reintegration fund’ payout of up to £4,500.

Gray Areas

How many holes can you find?

Along with 46 other states, New Jersey now has a “move over” law. This law codifies and establishes penalties for not doing the right thing: when you come upon an emergency vehicle by the side of the road, you should move over and slow down. This is what decent people do any way, but not everyone is decent. Police and other emergency workers have been hit by traffic while doing their jobs. So NJ made a law. But the law they made is full of holes. Gray areas. Nebulosity. Take a look:

New Jersey Statute 39:4-92.2

Procedure for motorist approaching stationary authorized emergency vehicle, tow truck, highway maintenance or emergency service vehicle.

1. a. The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle as defined in R.S.39:1-1 that is displaying a flashing, blinking or alternating red or blue light or, any configuration of lights containing one of these colors, shall approach the authorized emergency vehicle with due caution and shall, absent any other direction by a law enforcement officer, proceed as follows:

(1) Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the authorized emergency vehicle if possible in the existing safety and traffic conditions; or

(2) If a lane change pursuant to paragraph (1) of subsection a. of this section would be impossible, prohibited by law or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be less than the posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop.

b. The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a stationary tow truck as defined in section 1 of P.L.1999, c.396 (C.39:3-84.6) that is displaying a flashing amber light or a stationary highway maintenance or emergency service vehicle that is operated by the State, an authority or a county or municipality and displaying flashing yellow, amber, or red lights shall approach the vehicle with due caution and shall, absent any other direction by a law enforcement officer, proceed as follows:

(1) Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the tow truck or highway maintenance or emergency service vehicle if possible in the existing safety and traffic conditions; or

(2) If a lane change under paragraph (1) of subsection b. of this section would be impossible, prohibited by law or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be less than the posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop.

c. A violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100 and not more than $500.

Given the silly redundancy of paragraph 1.b being nearly identical to paragraph 1.a, when “any emergency vehicle with a flashing, blinking, or alternating red, blue, or amber light” would have covered it, I can find at least 2 aspects of this law that should make it unenforceable. It all ALWAYS comes down to “he said she said”, and if it’s “the cop said”, you lose.

I’d like to take a national survey. Millions of surveyed people. Do you believe that you stand even a moderate chance of beating a ticket in traffic court? My bet is that not even 15% think so.

And no, I didn’t get a ticket. I just happened to find out about this law, which is new this year in my state. You know how they went about letting people know the law even existed? By putting a message in the short range AM radio information channel that exists on some of our highways. The one people only turn to, rarely, once they’re already stuck in traffic. And by putting up posters at minor league ball parks. Because everyone goes to Triple A ball games. Not. Oh, and by adding a paragraph or two to the driver’s ed manual. Which really helps out folks who already have licenses.

Fischer said a public service message on the law will be distributed to minor league ballparks and other outdoor recreational venues this spring and summer. Posters with information on the law are also being developed for use by local and state law enforcement, community, traffic safety and emergency responders in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission will incorporate provisions of the law into their driver improvement program, and will be sending literature to driver training schools throughout the state. The agency will also be updating driver testing materials to reflect the new mandate.

image

It’s not just NJ ... most states have such a law, yet this survey says that 71% of the people don’t know the law exists. And of course NJ, being the last girl to the party, has imposed the highest fines in the nation.

We hate to think this sort of sickness can be alive and well in the USA too.  SICK!

Worse then sick and the death penalty should be applied without trial.  There HAS to be a message sent to these freaks and sickos that this will NOT be tolerated.  Fat chance of that.  It says she isn’t co-operating.  Of course not. Why the hell should she when, SHE KNOWS HER RIGHTS!
Bet she’d she’d damn sure talk if anyone here at BMEWS got our hands on the filthy, miserable bitch. Oh boy, would she talk.

Girl, 5, sold into prostitution by her own mother hunted by U.S. police

By Daily Mail Reporter

How could she? Antoinette Nicole Davis, is accused of selling her five-year-old daughter Shaniya Davis into prostitution

image

U.S. police were today hunting for a missing five-year-old girl who was sold for sex by her mother.

Shaniya Davis has been missing for six days after she was last seen being carried into a hotel room by a man.

FBI agents and U.S. Marshalls have joined the nationwide search for the toddler amid fears she had been sold to a paedophile ring.

Police have charged the girl’s mother Antoinette Davis with human trafficking and prostitution offences.

An arrest warrant issued for the 25-year-old said she allowed her daughter to be taken ‘with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude.’

Davis, who is pregnant, first reported her daughter missing last Tuesday.

Police were suspicious of her story after reviewing a timeline of the events leading up to her disappearance from a trailer park in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

They later found CCTV footage from a hotel 40 miles from Fayetteville showing the five year old girl being carried into a hotel room by Mario McNeill.

She has not been seen since and her mother has refused to cooperate with police.

Asked if police think the girl is still alive, Fayetteville police Sgt. John Somerindyke said: ‘We sure hope so.’

The girl had only been living with her mother for three weeks, according to her father Bradley Lockhart.

He had primary custody of the girl, but had agreed to let her stay with her mother after she found a place to live and held a job for six months.

Lockhart broke down in tears at a press conference when he sobbed: ‘I just want her to come back safe.’

Police have not charged anyone with molesting Shaniya, but said the investigation is ongoing.

The man accused of taking her turned himself in on Friday. Police said he admitted to kidnapping the child and has been charged with kidnap.

According to arrest documents, Davis ‘knowingly provided Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude’ and she ‘permitted an act of prostitution.’

Lesbian parents better at raising children.  HEY BMEWS. BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW THAT.

Only know what I read in the papers and the paper reports this headline today.
That must make normal, traditional parents feel nice.

There have been stories over the months of child abuse to the point of death, where a kid has been abused by both mom and dad. So I suppose that if you wanted to use that extreme as an example, it could be fair to say a child would be better off with two loving adults that honestly did have their best interests at heart and were NOT abusers. Even if they were same sex couples.  And there are I’m sure people who are very child oriented, do love children, and do want to be parents.
But I just can’t shake the old conservative and traditional mindset that a kid really does need a mom and a dad. I can not imagine a more troublesome, mind bending, awesome responsibility then bringing a child into the world and raising it.

From The Sunday Times
November 15, 2009

Maurice Chittenden

Lesbians make better parents than conventional couples, according to a director of the government’s parenting academy.
Stephen Scott, director of research at the National Academy for Parenting Practitioners, told a meeting last week that the latest research showed that children of such couples did better in life.

Speaking at the launch at the think tank Demos of a report on the influence of character on life, Scott said: “Lesbians make better parents than a man and a woman.”

His arguments are supported by experts who have found, over years of research, that children brought up by female couples are more aspirational and more confident in championing social justice. They show no more tendencies towards homosexuality than the offspring of heterosexual parents.

Such strong endorsement from the government’s main agency for parenting will give a boost to gay parents. The speech from the academy, set up by the Department for Children, Schools and Families in 2007, will alarm traditional family supporters and those who raise concerns about the lack of a father figure in a child’s life.

Parenting groups have recently been accused of turning into vocal advocates for the tiny minority of parents who are gay couples. There was a row this year when the British Association for Adoption and Fostering described opponents of gay adoption as “retarded homophobes”. It had to pulp copies of a guide using the phrase.

However, more than a third of people now believe a lesbian couple can be at least as good parents as a man and a woman, according to the annual British Social Attitudes report.
Research at Birkbeck college, part of London University, and at Clark University in Massachusetts, says there is no evidence to show children of lesbian parents are disadvantaged in any way.

By the nature of their relationship, lesbian couples cannot have children by accident. They use a sperm donor, often a gay man, or adopt. The child then has two “mothers”.

Daughters of lesbians are more likely to aspire to professions that were traditionally considered male, such as doctors or lawyers.

Mary Cheney, the lesbian daughter of Dick Cheney, the former American vice-president, who is expecting her second baby later this month, said in a recent interview: “Every piece of remotely responsible research that has been done in the last 20 years has shown there is no difference between children raised by same-sex parents and children raised by opposite-sex parents. What matters is being raised in a stable, loving environment

What Brigadoon taught me

One of my favorite movies of all time is Brigadoon. Starring Gene Kelly, Van Johnson, and Cyd Charisse.

My earliest memory of seeing it was when I was seven or eight. I remembered the magical village that would vanish in the mist. I had dim memories of the catchy tunes.

Later I tracked down those dim memories. Not so dim now. Here’s what I learned from Brigadoon:

About courting:

Jean Campbell: “Father, how did you feel when Mother agreed to marry you?”

Andrew Campbell: “I dinnae propose to her, she proposed to me.”

Jean Campbell: “But dinnae make you happy?”

Andrew Campbell: “Aye, her good judgement pleased me highly.”

I learned to let the woman propose. That way she shows good judgement, and I don’t get turned down!

Then there’s this scene:

Hello to married men I’ve known; I’ll soon have a wife an’ leave yours alone.

This begs the question of who’s wife haven’t you left alone?

If I’m ever a lost American hunter in the Highlands I’ve learned:

Highland Scots are very good at soft-shoe.
Make sure your hunting boots are suitable for tap dancing.

Oh yeah, there was that other movie… An American Werewolf in something or other. Watch out for wolves.

Another case of:  Eye Candy and brians and how nice to pass this on.

Really is.  With all the stuff out there that causes ulcers and the moonbats and libtards doing their worst ...
Here’s a bright young lady who discovered a need through her teacher, and invented something to fill the need. She’s 19 now, but was only 16 when she invented this device.

Much good luck to her.  It’s nice being able to share something positive for a change.

And she’s kinda cute too.

Teenage girl on stairlift to millions after stumbling on handrail idea for a GCSE project

By Claire Ellicott
14th November 2009

image

When Ruth Amos created a design for a handrail as part of a GCSE project, her main focus was to ensure she would get a good grade.

The 16-year-old schoolgirl never expected that her design idea would be turned into a device that has helped change the lives of disabled and elderly people.

Now, three years on, she is running an expanding firm - and in a few years could potentially earn millions.

This week the teenager’s achievements were honoured when she was presented with the Young Star award at the Women of the Future awards in Central London.

Ruth, 19, from Sheffield, designed the StairSteady to help those with walking difficulties climb the stairs as part of her design and technology GCSE project.

Her teacher asked her to design a product that would help solve a dilemma for him.

He told Ruth that his mother did not want a stairlift put into her house, but could not get up the stairs without one.

Ruth designed and developed a metal bar attached to a metal stair rail. It allows those with limited mobility to use the stairs without worrying that they will fall.

Those using the StairSteady push the bar along the rail to help them balance when they want go up and down the stairs.

The bar uses friction to lock itself in place so users can pull themselves up to the next step. It will lock in place if the user falls or stumbles. When not in use, the handle can be pushed flat against the wall.
Ruth Amos with the StairSteady which has been turned into a device that helps change the lives of disabled and elderly people.

Bright idea: Ruth has been presented with the Young Star Award at the Women Of The Future awards this week in London. The ‘StairSteady’ helps change the lives of disabled and elderly people

Ruth’s design was so good that a local company made a prototype for her. She won the Young Engineer of Britain award in 2006 and started her business - all at the same time as taking and passing 15 GCSEs.

The StairSteady, which costs £470, has been so successful that Miss Amos is now considering selling it abroad.

She currently sells it nationwide, in partnership with Minivator, the UK’s second largest manufacturer of stairlifts, and it is being bought at a rate of more than three per week.

Although she would not disclose her turnover as she is in the middle of negotiations, her business is worth more than £60,000 a year.

She had been planning to go to university, but has put that on hold for three years to concentrate on the business.

‘I can’t believe how successful the StairSteady’s been,’ said Ruth. ‘It’s doing really well and we’re looking to expand our range and take the business to Europe,’ she said.

‘Often a fresh mind on an old market place is the best thing. I love running the business and I love being an entrepreneur.’

Heterosexual couple want to ‘marry’ in civil partnership to protest against ‘anti-gay’ marriage

This is actually a nothing full of beans will go nowhere kind of story.  I suspect the Telegraph only ran it because they needed filler.
So just why am I posting it here?  Ah .... Because not only is couple a pair of idiots looking for their 15 minutes ...
Read the article and you’ll quickly spot at least one reason this place is doomed as long as jerks like this belong to .....

A heterosexual couple hope to become the first in the UK to “marry” in a civil relationship to protest against their belief that marriage is “apartheid” against homosexuals.

Nick Britten
Sat. Telegraph

Tom Freeman and Katherine Doyle, both 25, have so far duped Islington Council by registering their intent only using their initials and surnames.

The civil servants, who live in Holloway, north London, and have been together nearly four years, said they want the same legal rights as a husband and wife, but did not want to enter an institution that is closed to homosexuals.

The couple are to give ‘notice of their intention to form a civil partnership’ at Islington Town Hall on November 24. The venue is one of the most popular in Britain for gay ‘marriages’.

Miss Doyle said that marriage was “an apartheid of sorts” because it excluded homosexuals.

She said: “Getting married would condone that and the whole idea of common law partnerships is an urban myth. They don’t exist, so we are excluded from the legal benefits.

“For Tom and I a civil partnership is the obvious alternative but we can’t have it.”

Mr Freeman added: “‘We are at the stage other couples might usually get married but we feel the only course of action is to campaign for desegregation.”

Under the 2004 Civil Partnership Act, only members of the same sex can enter into a civil partnership.

A spokesman for Islington Council said the ceremony would not be allowed to take place.

“Like all councils we must follow the requirements of the Civil Partnership Act 2004, which states that to qualify for a Civil Partnership, couples must be of the same sex. So our hands are tied,” he said.

So this pair of schmucks are civil servants huh. Oh boy.

WEEKEND WOMEN

Some weeks ago I decided we should have classy ladies from the past and some from the present. One reason being that women are a joy to look at and usually if you’re a straight male, gape at open mouthed in wonder and awe.  Usually, the business that produces these eye catching wonders of nature, is show business.  Lets face it folks, it attracts pretty women.  It’s kinda like Willie Sutton when asked why he robbed banks answered, ‘because that’s where the money is’.  Well, when looking for beautiful women, where else to go but show biz.  It attracts em like bees to honey.

All of the ladies of course are in their prime which is how I like to remember them.  I can only do this directed by my own taste naturally, and what appeals to me.  Which doesn’t mean that if I haven’t gotten to one of your favorites I’ve ignored em.  I found since starting this that is isn’t always as easy as I thought it could be, even with the net.  But I like doing it and in many cases it brings back some memories.

One area of much pleasure and interest (to me) are the really olde photos going back to the late 1890s to about 1910.  I’m still hunting for more but that isn’t proving too easy because there’s much that isn’t of very good quality or photos of newspaper photos etc.  There’s another category much ignored, maybe because there’s so little around.  And that’s older women who somehow have managed to still retain ‘IT.’ Now that is a hard find.
Mae West somehow still managed it past 50 even though she was overweight. In fact, she was almost always overweight by our standards but darn if she wasn’t one beautiful woman.  I suppose personality also has a role in that where she was concerned.

And so on to this edition of Weekend Women.  I admit I stole the name from Kim, but that was only because I can’t think of a snappier or better name.

RITA HAYWORTH
Margarita Carmen Cansino was born in New York on October 17, 1918.
Sad to think with her talent and looks her life turned so sad.  What is it about women like this who almost always seem to choose the wrong men in their lives. Not once, but twice and thrice.  But I still love this beauty. This is how I remember her.

What a darn shame so many people recall Lucille Ball only from wacky comedies and especially her TV show.  She was a dancer in a chorus line way back before she became ‘Lucy.’ And boy oh boy what a face and figure.  Like to die for and no foolin. And what a talent she was.

A very long time ago I happen to see a photo in a very old magazine.  It was a candid shot of Lucille Ball at a beach somewhere in So. Calif.
No stage makeup or posed photograph.  The photographer was either just lucky or else perhaps he was stalking her. Anyway, it was a great shot and I’ve been hunting it for years and can’t find it.  It really shows her very natural beauty.  WOW. What a dame! A class act.

image

Some of you won’t even know who this lady is.  But I remember her cos I was around to see her 50 years ago.  She was a MAJOR name once upon a time.

MITZI GAYNOR

In the 1950s, several movie actresses who originally had not aspired to be glamour girls found it expedient to be photographed in pin-up poses. Some, like Shirley Jones, dipped a toe in the water cautiously. Mitzi Gaynor jumped in the deep end. Like Betty Grable, Mitzi had a pleasant face of no more than ordinary prettiness and exceptionally good legs. Mitzi also had a sexy body. She was well equipped to be a pin-up.

Mitzi was born Francesca Marlene von Gerber in 1931. Her father was a Hungarian musician and her mother a ballroom dancer. Mitzi’s parents toured the United States, giving performances in the evening and giving Mitzi dancing lessons by day. Apparently Mitzi was an accomplished dancer by the age of eleven. During her mid-teens, Edwin Lester signed her to dance with the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera. Mitzi appeared in revivals of musicals like “The Great Waltz” and “Roberta”

Almost there.  One more below the fold.  Yes I know, I did her recently. BUT .... she appeared this week in another new gown and so that’s reason enough to include her again.

Violent criminal brags how “cushy” the jail is, says it’s worth coming back

Tell ya what folks. I don’t think that simply braggadocio.  Not at all.

The creep stabbed this young fellow, went to jail and insists he’s coming after his victim again.

I just hope the victim in this case somehow manages to find a way to get a gun.  Threats should ALWAYS be taken seriously.

Screw the stupid unreasonable gun laws.  The cops can’t watch his back forever.

One thing this case does prove.  Jail doesn’t work.  Cap.Punishment does. It guarantees the perp. won’t be around to do it again.

‘I’ll finish you off’: Teenage thug jailed for stabbing boy taunts his victim on Bebo

A thug jailed for stabbing a boy in the chest has taunted his terrified victim from prison via the social networking website Bebo.

The 17-year-old, who was released today, nearly killed schoolboy Daniel Davenport 16 months ago.

He made online threats to his victim on the popular social networking site that read: ‘When I get out I’m coming to finish you off.’

Today A-level pupil Daniel, 17, who is hoping to study at Oxford, told of his fear that he will be attacked again.

He said: ‘I admit I am scared and I’m having nightmares about what might happen.

‘He has been inside for 16 months and from what he’s been saying on Bebo he’s not been rehabilitated.’

Daniel had been riding his bike through Cardiff city centre in July 2008 when the youth attacked, stabbing him in the chest, narrowly missing his heart.

A judge at Cardiff Crown Court jailed him for 32 months after the youth admitted grievous bodily harm, wounding with intent and possessing a blade in a public place.

But during his sentence the teenager was given access to a computer, and began communicating with his friends on Bebo.

‘I was told by some friends that he had been threatening me on Bebo.

‘They showed me the messages on their computers and I was shocked by what I read.

‘One message said: “When I get out I’m going to stab that **** again.”

‘Another one said: “I wish I knew it was going to be this cushy - I’d have done him earlier. I don’t mind coming back inside for him.“‘

Daniel is currently studying A-level history, law, politics and business studies and hopes to become a barrister.

The two boys had been friends prior to the attack when they played for the same football team in Cardiff, but fell out after the youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, assaulted a local shopkeeper.

‘I told him I didn’t want to mix with criminals and after that he started threatening me,’ said Daniel.

The schoolboy’s father, Mark Davenport, 42, reported the online threats to the police, but admits the response has been slow.

He said: ‘The police went to Bebo to get information to discover where the messages came from.

‘But they have been very slow. I think Bebo has an obligation to provide this information and to do all they can to protect children.

‘I’m completely dumbfounded as to why they are dragging their feet over this. My only concern is for Daniel.’

South Wales Police confirmed they are investigating an allegation of a threat.

A spokeswoman said: ‘A 17-year-old male has been arrested and bailed. Inquiries are ongoing.’

Bebo confirmed they are investigating but refused to comment further.

AN UNRELATED STORY

I have to shut down soon as possible but want to leave you with this example of twisted non justice.

This despicable, miserable looking pile of human filth recently killed two women while driving drunk in a stolen car.
He has a LOOOOOONG record of this kind of behavior but somehow the filthy bastard was out free to continue his lifestyle.

Am I more pissed then usual? Maybe not because I have just seen as bad on line for tomorrow’s paper.

The thing that has me all worked up isn’t just the slime killer. It’s what he was given in jail time.

12 YEARS PEOPLE.  TWELVE FREEKIN YEARS.  Far as I am concerned, that’s like saying the lives of the innocent he took were only worth six years each.  WTF!

Batten down the ratchets, all hands man the poop deck. (wherever that is) Man overboard.

Woo-Hoo ,, we are in for it.  Already been raining for a couple days and nights.  Went to hardware store but nobody has any blueprints on ark building.
Doesn’t matter because I’m not much on tools anyway.

Britain prepares to be battered by weekend of storms, 70mph gales and pouring rain

The weekend will be washed out by the worst storm of the year so far, with gale-force gusts and heavy rain on its way, forecasters warned today.

Weather experts are advising those planning Saturday shopping trips and days out to postpone them and stay indoors as Britain is buffeted by winds of up to 70mph.

The winds will be strong enough to cause damage, including bringing down trees and branches, say forecasters.

This is in our neck of the woods:

Stephen Davenport, of Meteogroup UK, said that while it will dry up overnight, the rain will begin again in the early hours.

‘It is pretty filthy weather already and it is only going to get worse tomorrow. The real meat of the storm is coming overnight.

‘There will be a gradual build-up, with the peak of the winds being felt in the south west in the early hours before the storm shifts north-eastwards.’

‘This is the strongest storm we have had this year but it is just an autumnal storm, not untypical for this time of year.’

The storm is developing off the west coast of the country and is being fed by the still-warm autumn sea temperatures, he said.

Met Office chief forecaster, Bob Wilderspin, said: ‘We are expecting severe weather over the next few days.’

He added that forecasters will be monitoring the situation and updating weather reports so people are advised to keep an eye on forecasts for more information.

It’s the wind I think I worry about most.  Especially with some very, very large trees in the back. Come to think about, there’s a few in the front over the electric lines.  The two new houses on either side of us have underground lines.  We’re not so lucky, having been built in the 1920s.

The rain sometimes sounds like thunder.  I don’t think that’s the correct word.  It’s very noisy and makes a kind of drumming sound.  I wouldn’t mind if it were Gene Krupa.

If what I’m hearing now ain’t the “real meat” of this thing, I don’t think I wanna hear it later tonight.

Cheers ....

You Betcha

Palin fish-slaps Obama

“I’m open to good ideas” says Obama.

“Fine" says Palin “Do what Reagan did”

Sarah Palin: Thank you, Washington, for Requesting a Demonstrably Good Idea

I commend the president for acknowledging today that “there are limits to what government can and should do” to ease our 10.2% unemployment rate – the highest it’s been since 1983. I also applaud his call for suggestions and expression of openness to considering “any demonstrably good idea.” Taking him at his word, I’d like to suggest this one: let’s learn from history and follow the example of the man who occupied the White House in 1983 and was able to transform an even worse recession than the one we’re currently experiencing into the largest peacetime economic expansion in American history.

When you realize the magnitude of President Reagan’s achievements, there is absolutely no reason why anyone would ignore his “demonstrably good” example. If you want real job growth, cut taxes – including capital gains taxes and small business payroll taxes – and slay the death tax once and for all. If you want to stimulate the economy and help poor and middle class families, cut payroll taxes so that more Americans can keep and invest more of what they earn.

If you want lasting economic expansion and prosperity, get the federal government’s budget under control. Instead of more pork-laden stimulus plans, let the free market correct itself. That’s what Reagan did, and history proves it worked.

In his comments today, the president honorably suggested that he welcomes our ideas on how to put America’s economy on the right track. But, there also seemed to be a suggested chastisement of the private sector’s efforts to right some economic wrongs when he said, “...small businesses and large firms...have not yet been willing to take the steps necessary to hire again.”

As business owners seek to expand, or just to keep doors open today, it’s not as if they are refusing to hire out of spite. Given a pro-private sector environment they will be only too happy to hire more people and grow their businesses. Perhaps if leadership in Washington reassured them by, for example, cutting tax burdens and making government more efficient, it would send our businesses a message that it’s safe and smart to expand today.

These are difficult times for so many Americans who are out of work. I implore our leaders to not threaten our economy’s job creators with increased taxes and job-killing schemes like cap-and-tax and the government health care takeover. Government needs to get out of their way and off their backs so that they can grow and hire again.

The lessons of history are clear. We’re blessed to have so many lessons from which to learn, and we’d be smart to emulate successes in America’s past. Our economic recovery decisions should be based on the same free market principles that Reagan employed. They work, history proves it, and I thank our president for asking for this input.

- Sarah Palin

Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. 1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
