By STEVE DOUGHTYThe gay couple who won damages from Christian hotel owners for refusing them a bed are suing to get even more money from them, according to documents filed at the Court of Appeal.
Well, at the time of posting I said that I’d bet they wouldn’t be suing but for the idiot public money being made available to them
Their legal challenge to the amount of damages is being backed and fully financed by the taxpayer-funded Equality and Human Rights Commission, according to the documents.
Right. Those a-holes.
Well bmews .... that org. has done a U-Turn and said they made a mistake and would not fund them to sue again.
While that is good news for common sense, it’s sad that it was brought about by public outcry and many unfriendly editorials. In other words, the fools couldn’t see for themselves how wrong that would have been.
Now lets see if this govt. is serious about squatters. Uh huh. They say they are but ... Here’s my prediction.
ZERO action until or unless the newspapers here campaign and make the big deal that it is, out of it. The Telegraph has started a stop the squatter campaign.
Hey, they shouldn’t have to do that should they? The law in question on this subject is even worse then you can imagine. If they change it I bet it would not go into effect to give any relief to property owners this year. It’ll be one of those, by (pick a month) 2012.
Anyway, the govt. should know without prompting how bad it is and I hope to have more on the subject later.
