A platoon of Mississippi National Guardsmen have decided war is too risky and refused to deliver supplies. Where is George Patton when you need him?

Apparently, one of our tenured educrats at the University of Louisiana apparently went bonkers in the classroom and had to be carted out. Obviously, he got his physics class mixed up with his behavioral sciences class. They’re coming to take me away, ha-ha-hee-hee-ho-ho ....

The price of a gallon of gasoline just hit $2.00 here in Alabama. That means the Californicators will probably be paying about $6.00 per gallon by next week. This may be a good thing as Michael Moore won’t be able to afford gas to travel around brainwashing our slacker youth.

From Brussels, Belgium (like France but with less intelligence and less soap) we have a new poll that says men are more likely to sleep with their boss to get a raise or promotion than women are. Yep, there goes the old sexual sterotype all over again .... men are nothing but horn dogs, right? Well, OK. I confess.

In Yugoslavia (voted country with the dumbest bank robbers one hundred years in a row) a robber walked into a bank, stuck a gun in a teller’s face and demanded her money. She laughed out loud at him and refused .... since she was behind bullet-proof glass. The humiliated thief slithered out the bank door as everyone laughed at him. Time to find a new line of work, eh Boris?

And finally, Dick Cheney is still pissed at John Kerry for his homophobic remarks about Cheney’s daughter, challenges Kerry to duel - Zell Miller to referee. OK, we made that last part up but it would certainly be cool if it was true, eh?

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
