My Reply to Papers Endorsing Kerry

Having heard on the news yesterday that the Boston Globe and New York TImes endorsed Fuckface for President, I go online to read the local paper (St. Pete Times) and lo! and behold! THEY"VE endorsed “he who’s face is “fuck.”

I couldn’t stand it any longer.  I penned the following (which will probably never get published because it is too long) and sent it to the Times anyway.

Please give it a read.  Then steal the shit out of it if you want and send your own letter to your local paper.  For those of you in Florida, please use restraint and paraphrase, re-write, etc. so it does not resemble the original.  If you are in the St. Pete distribution area, please do not use it at all as duplicates will automatically cause the editor to refuse publishing any of them.

If I were a businessman attempting to hire a new member for my board of directors or a school principle hiring a new teacher and I used the same process and standards to hire them as the St Pete Times uses to choose a president, I would either be out of business or incapable of having my students advance to the next grade.

It is no secret the media has an agenda here and is complicitly conspiring to promote Kerry for President.  One need only look at the degree to which they dug into the President’s records before he was elected.  They wanted to know what businesses he ran, his ties to oil, his ties to Halliburton, his record as Governor of Texas, his time in school, his Guard service, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

The press’ interest in Kerry’s history and experience? Other than Vietnam, none.

Yet now we have a LOWER unemployment rate (5.4%) than in 1996 when it was 5.6% and the media was falling all over itself glowing about it calling for Clinton to be re-elected because of it.  The economy is adding jobs, albeit slowly, but doing so anyway.  After all, how bad can it be when home ownership is the HIGHEST it has EVER been in the US?  When home appreciation rates are the highest they’ve been in decades making Americans even more wealthy.  How bad can the economy be when you drive by restaurants and EVERY ONE of them has FULL parking lots.  How bad can it be when consumer spending continues to increase and shopping mall lots are packed?

Americans now have more money in their pockets due to tax cuts enacted by the President.  The hue and cry about the rich getting so much of it is just that--a hue and cry.  Never forget, the rich make more so they will get more back.  For a party that demands fairness, should it not be fair that if I, in the middle class, get a 10% cut in taxes so should everyone else?  Let’s also not forget there are tens of millions of Americans paying NO TAX WHATSOEVER!!!  And millions get earned income---code for:  getting more back than they paid in.

The President’s war on terror has been so effective we’ve not been attacked again.  Yet Madeleine Albright goes around saying “Clinton lied and nobody died” as some sort of mantra for the left in this country and as if lying is some sort of badge of honor.  Nice badge, huh?  Of course, she conveniently forgets about all the people who DID DIE in the first WTC attack, the USS Cole attack, Somalia, failed policy in Haiti, the Khobar Towers, etc.  Yep, nobody died at any of those.  Nope. The media closed its eyes and walked away.

It’s amazing the facility with which Democrats can lie AND tell the truth in the same sentence.  Which leads me to Senator Kerry.  Asked about what he’d do on an issue he says he can’t give answers on hypothetical situations but.......he has a plan (for his hypothetical non-answer.) Say what?!?!?!

Senator Kerry is like the guy applying for one of the two jobs I listed above.  He’ll give you a resume that has NOTHING on it to help you discern his abilities or experiences over the previous 20 years.  He’ll tell you he has lots of plans but will not tell you any substance about them.  He’ll tell you his plans will succeed but he won’t tell you how he’ll execute them nor how much they will cost you.  He’ll criticize the people he’s trying to replace but has no solution for the problems he lists.  He will regale you with stories about his youth and how brave he was by going to Vietnam (albeit he left there in 4 months; 8 months sooner than his comrades in arms.) He’ll tell you he defended the country but won’t discuss how he provided aid and comfort to the enemy who has enshrined him as a hero for the cause.  No, he will NOT discuss “those” actions nor release his military records nor his tax records.

His 20 plus years in the Senate saw 11 (eleven) bills or pieces of legislation passed.  ELEVEN in 20 YEARS!!!!! Don’t believe me?  Go to:  http://www.factcheck.org/article282m.html Wow!  Busy man, huh?  One piece of legislation every 22 months.  The people of Massachusetts sure got their money’s worth.  But he won’t talk about all the meetings he missed while on the intelligence committees or the votes he failed to be present for.

He’s a guy who makes over $6 MILLION dollars a year and pays 12.6% in taxes.  I make almost 200 TIMES LESS and pay a higher percentage!!!!  I’ll bet most readers to this paper do, too.  Readers, do yourselves a favor:  check out his lifestyle and then look at yourselves in the mirror and ask: “How can he pay less taxes, demand I pay more, yet he’s worth close to a billion dollars?  THIS is a guy that represents the “common man?  This is a guy I want to vote for?” If you can look in the mirror, answer yes and sleep well at night, do so.

But for all the above, the media and the St. Pete Times consider none of this worthy of any further investigation or exposure.  All that is important is to get a Democrat back into office.  Damn the country. Damn American freedoms.  Damn everything but party politics.

So, America, is THAT how you want to select the next leader of the free world?  On the word of a press that’s beholden to a man with no experience, who pays little taxes but wants to raise yours, an “average Joe” who owns several multi-million dollar homes, a yacht, a jet (none of which are owned by President Bush), who windsurfs and skis while we sit in our living rooms watching basketball on TV for entertainment, live in our cozy SINGLE homes, searching the net for cheap airline tickets to visit relatives elsewheres and rent a canoe for our water sports?

Is it? 

Give me a folksy Bush who hunts, chops wood, and mends fences any day. He may be “rich” but he TRULY understands fairness.  A man who will not let the UN tell us what to do.  Who does not need a global litmus test for any action we feel we need to take. A person who truly wants to defend America and who truly loves this country and wants to ensure it remains the most powerful in the world.

We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
