I got plenny o nuttin

Bleh. Just can’t drag myself to the keyboard. There are stories out there though ...

• Hillary and her campaign monkey Ellis say they’ll win no matter what, because they have more superdelegates who know better than the voters. Arrogant much?


• Obama may not “qualify" to call himself “African American” or even “black”. If this isn’t BS, does it even matter? Or without the unspoken Halle Berri-esque “it’s about time” angle does his whole campaign fall asunder? What if he’s far more Arab-American than African-American?


• Another school shooting this week. What is it with white boys? Can’t they just off themselves or do suicide-by-cop like everybody else?


• After a decade of enforced cease-fire, Kosovo became a new country this morning. A new beginning? Not hardly. Within a couple hours somebody was tossing grenades at the UN. Here we go again. Just remember, “ethnic Albanian” is news doublespeak for moosie. I guess this means our troops there will finally be coming home, yay! And the EU is going to send in 2000 eurocopsto keep order. Riiiight.


• WHERE? Oh. Ok. Bush goes to Tanzania, gives their president an old pair of sneakers as a gift. And $698 million to buy mosquito netting and insecticide to Help. Save. The. Children. Funny, we don’t make netting and insecticide in this country that we could just send?
  
• Woo hoo, let’s have us a party!!! Newark NJ has gone more than AN ENTIRE MONTH without a murder. The last time this happened was FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:

1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
