Springtime for Egypt ?

The article has been edited for space but to be fair, if that’s possible considering who we’re talking about here, it’s reported that hundreds of muslims have protested the killers in this story and are seriously worried about the secular future in Egypt.
This kinda follows Drew’s post on the subject last week.

Apparently there is genuine outrage so that could be read as hopeful. ???  Yes?  Like, it ain’t all of them wants to do us in.  Just a million or so who do. Which is reassuring.  Right?

Arab Spring my achin’ butt.  I’m no expert and it would actually be great to be wrong here but; I think given time the radicals will take over. Mubarak knew how to keep the vermin at bay. He was our guy and suddenly he wasn’t and so now, welcome to the caliphate.

A university student was stabbed to death after argument with religious vigilantes who attacked him for walking with his fiancee.
Three bearded men approached Ahmed Hussein Eid and his partner when they were walking in a park in Suez, Egypt and demanded they go their separate ways because they were not married, security officials said.

An argument broke out which ended with one of the men fatally stabbing the engineering student in his left thigh. He was taken to Ismailia University Hospital but later died of his injuries.

A group calling themselves ‘Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Authority’ posted on Facebook that they were responsible for the murder.
The entry read that the young man had been standing with a woman and had been adviced not to do so, Egypt Independent reported.

The post on the page of the organisation, which is a vigilante religious police seeking out those whom they deem to be violating Sharia, said the student insulted them which is why they attacked him with a knife.
The June 25 attack has alarmed Egyptians concerned that with an Islamist president in office, vigilante groups are feeling emboldened to enforce strict Islamic mores on the streets.

The attack happened in a quiet park which is a favorite spot for young couples in Suez, according to security officials.
It has not been specified what enraged the three men, who arrived at the scene on a motorbike, but the initial testimony of the girlfriend said the men told the couple they should not be together because they were not married and must immediately leave and go their separate ways.

An argument followed and one of the three men stabbed 20-year-old Eid in the upper left thigh, near his genitals.
Suez has a strong Islamist movement and voted heavily in favor of Mohamed Morsi in the June 16-17 presidential runoff against Ahmed Shafiq,the last prime minister to serve under Mubarak.

The killing took place one day after Morsi was declared the winner.
Suez Islamic groups have denied their involvement in the attack and the leading party Muslim Brotherhood has condemned it.
The spokesperson for the Muslim Brotherhood, Mahmud Ghazlan, said: ‘We condemn these acts, for they have nothing to do with Islam and we repudiate them and their perpetrator’

However, secular activists say Islamists are trying to impose their will on communities outside Cairo.
Moderate Muslims along with liberal and women’s groups now worry that Mohammed Morsi’s presidency will eradicate what is left of Egypt’s secular traditions and change the social fabric of the mainly Muslim nation.

Some activists say Islamists already are flexing their muscles in areas outside Cairo and other main cities, taking advantage of the absence of civil society groups and lack of security in the areas.

They cite reports of efforts to persuade drivers of communal minibuses to segregate male and female passengers and women’s hairdressing salons being told to get rid of male employees or close.

Fully veiled women are also harassing women not wearing a veil or wearing colorful ones while traveling on the women-only train cars of Cairo’s busy subway, according to activists monitoring women’s rights.

Egypt has for more than 40 years been preoccupied with dealing with the threat posed by radicals seeking to create an Islamic state in the country.
Mubarak, backed by the U.S., used that threat to maintain tight control over the country.

Morsi, 60, has not mentioned implementing Islam’s Shariah law since he narrowly won the presidential race but civil rights activists and secular groups fear the Brotherhood and its allies are closer than ever to realising the dream of an Islamic government in Egypt and are looking to Morsi to make it happen.

200 people regularly cram into this bungalow...used as illegal mosque

AN Islamic group has been told to clear out of an illegal mosque in a small bungalow after residents complained it is regularly crammed with as many as 200 people.

Southend Council has received 150 complaints from angry residents in Fairfax Drive, Westcliff, since September 2010.

The Jaafriya Islamic Welfare Centre did not apply for change of use when it took over the two-bedroom chalet bungalow and began holding regular meetings.

In December 2010 the owner of the site also built an extension without planning consent.

Residents claim cars are parked on the pavement, bin bags litter the front of the property and there is noise at all hours of the night from running engines, slammed doors and raised voices.

Southend Council has now issued an enforcement notice after discovering the residential property is being used for religious celebrations and child education classes.

Martin Terry, independent councillor for the Westborough ward, said: “Over a long period of time there has been a constant stream of complaints about what is essentially a bungalow being used as a mosque.

“There have been all sorts of denials about this, but that is what it is.

“Although Fairfax Drive is a fairly busy road, this is a residential property and there is far more activity going on than there should be.

“It doesn’t matter what religion you are, you have to play by the rules and stick to the law.”

Southend Council made numerous attempts to get in touch with leaders of the centre before finally securing a meeting in March 2011. Officers were assured the bungalow was used mainly as a home with occasional small community meetings taking place.

Nevertheless, they decided to take action after the Jaafriya Islamic Welfare Centre for Charity Relief submitted an application for a grant from the council which clearly stated the building was used for religious functions.

They have since submitted a retrospective planning application for the change of use and single-storey rear extension, which has been recommended for refusal.

A final decision is due by July 10.

No one from the centre was available for comment.

However, in a planning statement submitted to the council, they said: “Young people would be educated in religious study and, as many are of foreign extraction, in the methods and traditions of this country.

“At the same time, the tutor would live in the premises.”

It’s very much worth reading and of course a lot has been said already on the topic.  I wish there were a way to rid ourselves by any means, of the enablers, the liberal left hand wringers who have brought us to this pass.  But then, I can’t think of many people, even conservatives, who’d approve my solution.

Islam And The Need For Western Vigilance

Thank you, dear friends, ladies and gentlemen, for inviting me to the Western Conservative Summit. It is always a pleasure to come to America. I was here a few weeks ago to meet with my dear friend, congresswoman Michele Bachmann, to talk about Islam and the threat to America and Europe.

It is also a pleasure to be in Denver, the gateway to the West. This is America’s conservative heartland where the spirit of the pioneers still lives.

I know that I come at a sad moment. Many of you have been affected by the enormous wildfires raging not far from here. Thousands have been evacuated and some of them are even staying in this hotel. Few things are as terrible as losing your homes. I want to express my deepest sympathy with all the people affected by this disaster. And I want to offer my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the fires.

I am impressed by the solidarity and the help which the people of Denver extend to the victims. You live in a great and generous city. Denver is also privileged to be the home of Colorado Christian University and the Centennial Institute with its motto “Faith, family and freedom”. Your motto shows that you have your priorities right. Faith, family and freedom are the pillars of our Judeo-Christian civilization and need to be defended.

I feel honored to have been invited to address you today about the situation in Europe and in particular in my own country, the Netherlands. This situation serves as a warning to what might happen in America if you fail to be vigilant. As U.S. President Andrew Jackson said: “Remember, my fellow citizens, that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing.”

But first, let me start by introducing myself. I am one of the 150 members of the House of Representatives in the Netherlands, a small country of almost 17 million people in Western Europe. I am the leader of the Party for Freedom. My party is the third largest of eleven parties represented in the Dutch parliament.

Perhaps many of you think that life for this politician in the Netherlands resembles the life of the members of your own Congress. Unfortunately, that is not the case. For the past eight years I have been living under 24 hour police protection. Wherever I go, plainclothes policemen go with me. I live in a government safe house, heavily protected and bulletproof.

I am driven every day from the safe house to the Dutch parliament in armored police cars with flashing blue lights.

I have not walked the streets on my own in the past eight years. When I occasionally go to a restaurant or a movie theater, the police will have to check everything first. My wife and I have lived in army barracks and prisons cells just to be safe from assassins.

Why do I need this protection? I am not a president or a king; I am a mere parliamentarian.

I have, however, been marked for death for criticizing Islam. I was placed under police protection in early November 2004 when an Islamic fanatic murdered th Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh because he had criticized Islam. Van Gogh was slaughtered in broad daylight in the streets of Amsterdam. A few hours later, the police found a letter written by the assassin threatening to kill me as well.

What have I done, you might ask, to deserve those death threats? I have candidly expressed my views about Islam.

My views, in a nutshell, are that Islam, rather than a religion, is predominantly a totalitarian ideology striving for world dominance. I believe that Islam and freedom are incompatible.

Some people do not want to hear this message. That is why they threaten to murder everyone who states this truth.

I do not want Europe nor America to become Islamic.

There is only one Islam and it is a dangerous ideology. It is intolerant, it is violent. It should not be tolerated, but should be contained.

In Europe, we are experiencing that if Islam becomes stronger in a society – even when the majority of Muslims are moderates – a society becomes less free and more intolerant of non- Muslims.

Former congressman Tom Tancredo, a native and inhabitant of this great city, whom I visited in his office in Washington in late 2008, once said referring to Miami: I quote “Look at what has happened to Miami. It has become a Third World country. You would never know you’re in the United States of America. You would certainly say you’re in a Third World country.” – end of quote.

The same applies to Europe: Certain parts of our inner cities no longer look like Europe. They look like suburbs of Cairo, Rabat, Algiers, Damascus or Mecca.

As the Muslim population is concentrated in urban areas, many European cities have very large Islamic concentrations. We are confronted with headscarves and burkas, polygamy, female genital mutilation, honor-killings.

During the past three decades, Europe made a fatal mistake. It allowed millions of people from Islamic countries to immigrate into Europe. So many people rooted in a culture entirely different from our own Judeo-Christian and humanist tradition have entered Europe that our heritage, our freedoms, our prosperity and our culture are in danger.

Perhaps, many Americans still believe that Europe is the place they know from a tourist trip or from their grandparents’ stories. This Europe is on the verge of disappearing.

“In each one of our cities” wrote the Italian author Oriana Fallaci shortly before her death in 2006, “there is a second city, a state within the state, a government within the government. A Muslim city, a city ruled by the Koran.” – End of quote.

Perhaps many Americans see immigration as something which is inherently good for a country, since it contributed so much to the United States. But while most of the former immigrants to the United States came from Europe, a continent with the same Judeo-Christian roots as America, Europe’s contemporary immigrants do not share our common roots. On the contrary, the islamization of our society is undermining our Western Judeo-Christian values.

why wait? why not leave and then nuke the bastards?

I’m really bothered by this and I’m fairly certain American troops are still targets as well.  But here is where I am and here is where I get news concerning this place and most especially what’s happening to those brave young kids in a god forsaken and worthless place populated by people we’ve not a thing in common with.  Not even our humanity.
I am of course referring to the wasted lives and wasted resources lost by the UK in Afghanistan.

As an aside.  It’s only in the past week that I have finally, after all these years, got my hands on a copy of Pat Buchanan’s book, “The Death of the West.”
It’s a chilling read and a sad one and a maddening read as well.  I don’t always agree with every single thing he may believe to be true.  But pretty much I do buy his general outlook.  And it is scary. I also think it’s all of it true.  And what Pat writes about America is equally true of Europe and the UK. 
So that beings me back to the reason for this morning’s post.

Since our Commander in Chief is a military genius and along with the Brit top man have announced the time table for withdrawal, why must we wait?
Every death is pointless. Wasted. What good are we doing?  If anyone knows, please don’t keep it a secret. Cos I very honestly do not know.
How many more time does this have to be repeated?

Three British soldiers killed by Afghan policeman after argument

Three British soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan by a local policeman following an argument, the Ministry of Defence has said.

As relations with local forces continue to deteriorate the deaths mean that a quarter of all British fatalities this year have been caused by Afghans soldiers with seven murdered at the hands of allies.
The soldiers, two from the Welsh Guards and one from the Royal Corps of Signals, are understood to have become involved in an argument with one of the Afghan policemen.
The officer opened fire, probably with an AK47 machine gun, and hit three of the soldiers. It is unclear if they were wearing body armour at check point Kamparack Pul in Nahr-e-Saraj in Helmand. A fourth British soldier was wounded but is thought to be stable.
The Afghan policeman was then shot and wounded. He is now in custody.
The deaths bring the total number of British fatalities in Afghanistan to 422.

Words do fail.

It may be that he wants to appear strong and in command. But I can’t imagine he’d be serious in thinking the USA would back his attempt to free that terrorist scum, blind or not.

Egypt’s new president vows to free blind sheikh tied to 1993 WTC bombing

Egypt’s president-elect Mohammed Morsi has vowed to free the blind sheik jailed in the U.S. for a plot to blow up New York City landmarks.

In his first public speech addressing tens of thousands of mostly Islamist supporters, Morsi promised Saturday to work to free Omar Abdel-Rahman, the spiritual leader of men convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

He also promised to free detained Egyptian protesters facing military tribunals.

In front of tens of thousands of cheering supporters, Egypt’s first Islamist and civilian president-elect vowed Friday to fight for his authority and symbolically read an oath of office on Cairo’s Tahrir Square on the eve of his official inauguration.

Mohammed Morsi’s strongly worded speech was a show of defiance as he gears up to power struggle with the country’s ruling generals who passed a constitutional declaration taking over major presidential powers in the days before election results were announced after a bitter campaign.

‘Everybody is hearing me now. The government, the military and the police ... No power above this power,’ he said as the crowd roared. ‘I reaffirm to you I will not give up any of the president’s authorities. I can’t afford to do this. I don’t have that right to that.’

‘You are the source of legitimacy and whoever is protected by anyone else will lose,’ he told his supporters.

He also addressed popular demands, vowing to work for the release of Omar Abdel-Rahman, the blind sheik jailed in the U.S. for a plot to blow up New York landmarks, as well as detained Egyptian protesters facing military tribunals.

‘I will do my best to free all detainees, including Dr. Omar Abdel-Rahman,’ he said, pointing to a group of protesters holding a poster of the spiritual leader of men convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Supporters have called for the sheik to be repatriated to Egypt on humanitarian grounds.

Morsi, a 60-year-old U.S.-trained engineer, narrowly defeated Ahmed Shafiq, Hosni Mubarak’s last prime minister and a former air force general, in a runoff race that deeply polarized the nation.

the arab spring has sprung and resembles camel dung

A soon as I saw this today I knew it had to be shared with our readers.

It isn’t that it will be new to folks here. In fact, although my source is the Daily Mail, I should by rights give a tip of the hat to Drew who I recall wrote something sarcastic and questioning, and as I recall Vilmar wrote something scathing as well. In fact, I believe most if not all conservative bloggers were highly skeptical.  Our regulars here made similar comments as soon as the media started banging the drum for what was called, the Arab Spring.  None of you bought it.
Even after Libya, some of you were still making the odd comment here and there about the much vaunted springtime for arabs.
Well, congratulations.  Apparently, some in the mainstream media are catching up to you.

This is a fairly long piece so I am only giving a brief sample but am sure you’ll find it interesting.  Even if you already knew it, it’s nice to be vindicated.

Still championed by over-excited, ill-informed pundits in the West, and kept alive on the ground by a gaggle of equally naive, out-of-touch and mostly English-speaking local activists, the bitter truth is that the so-called Arab Spring has proved a dismal failure on every level.

As hated leaders are replaced by even more brutally oppressive regimes across the Middle East, the Arab Spring has become a sick joke

Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s deposed dictator, is reportedly still in a coma after being handed a life sentence earlier this month for complicity in the deaths of almost 1,000 protesters during last year’s mass uprising against his tyrannical rule.

He is a man utterly lacking in charisma, who has only ever been interested in enriching his family and the corrupt tycoons who surrounded him. Few will shed any tears when he dies.

However, while Mubarak was no better known for his political acumen than for his benevolent rule, he has been proven right about one thing at least.

A few days before he was forced to step down in February last year, he warned that sudden, dramatic change in the land of the pharaohs would lead only to anarchy, followed by a takeover by the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood party and the imposition of strict Islamic law.

Gradual political reform, in other words, was preferable to revolutionary upheaval that had no agenda other than ousting the current leader.

That advice, at the time mocked as the self-serving twaddle it partly was, now seems strikingly prescient. Indeed, Mubarak could have been talking about the consequences of revolutionary chaos not just for Egypt, but the Arab region as a whole.

On Monday, Jonathan Evans, the head of MI5, warned that the mayhem caused by the so-called Arab Spring has resulted in the creation of new Al Qaeda training camps throughout the Middle East, especially in Syria and Libya, where British jihadis are receiving training in terrorist tactics. They are intent, he added, on returning to Britain to launch attacks here.

The terrifying reality is indeed that Islamists of various factions are taking advantage of the febrile volatility in the regime to flex their muscles.

Egypt’s new president has just been announced. He is Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood. His victory ends a year of political transition in the country during which the Muslim Brotherhood have thrashed their liberal opponents in every election that’s been held.

On Sunday, Morsi called for national unity. That will be a tall order. Like other so-called ‘moderate’ Islamist leaders throughout the region, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

The truth is that the Muslim Brotherhood will now set about implementing their real agenda: imposing Sharia law and encouraging the growth of extreme Islam.

Nothing good has come of it at all, if judged by the classic Western values of liberty, freedom of expression and democratic accountability.

From Egypt to Tunisia, Yemen to Libya, shockingly high crime rates, economies in free-fall and decimated tourism industries are the terrifying new realities Arabs must now confront.

And in each of those countries, radical Islamists have moved quickly to fill the social and political vacuum. They have used a simple strategy: relying on gaining a majority from the minority who vote, and blatantly disregarding rules that ban foreign campaign donations from neighbouring states, such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, looking to extend their influence in the region.

Both these countries, although Western allies, also subscribe to Wahhabism — the strictest and most austere interpretation of Islam that even bans contact between unrelated men and women. They also consider it their God-given duty to promote this ‘pure’ version of Islam whenever the opportunity arises, thus their attempts to exploit the Middle East’s disarray.

the front page today

I suppose in one sense this might affect America as well as the UK, taking past history into account.  We can be sure that the TSA has taken note. 

I’m not even dressed for the day yet.
Came down for something I can’t even remember now.  Was going back to bed for an hour but first, since I was downstairs I thought I’d take the papers off the front porch.

This is the first thing I saw. 

Normally, a headline like this would not surprise me if it was splashed across the Daily Mail front page.  But I do open both eyes when it’s on the Telegraph.
But then, I’m meant to.  Aren’t I?

I am not making light of this threat.  But to be honest, I’m still concerned for lots of reasons, about the subject of Drew’s last post re. court ruling against Arizona.
Who knows. Perhaps the subjects of this headline may start coming in through Mexico, since since the court jesters have decided that states are not as sovereign as originally thought or meant to be.

Jonathan Evans said the terror network has taken advantage of the unstable region, in the wake of last year’s revolutions, to spread its influence and create new bases for attacks.

British would-be jihadis are known to be receiving training in the likes of Libya and Egypt, mirroring what has already happened in the Yemen and Somalia.

And they could return to attack the UK in what is a “new and worrying development”, he said.

Mr Evans, the Director General of MI5, warned of the emerging threats in a rare speech, his first in almost two years. In his talk he also:

: Revealed that the intelligence services and police are preparing for a potential threat from extremists and even lone wolf terrorists should the Eurozone collapse.

: Warned State-sponsored and criminal cyber attacks risked “real world damage” including one British company which has suffered estimated losses of £800m after being hacked.

: Suggested a potential return to State-sponsored terrorism by Iran.

: Said it would be “extraordinary and self-defeating” if the Government’s proposed new email and phone snooping powers did not go ahead.

Popular revolts across Arab nations were last year welcomed around the world and resulted in, among others, the end of Hosni Mubarak’s reign in Egypt and Muammar Gaddafi regime in Libya.

Nick Clegg, the deputy prime minister, described events at the time as “incredibly exciting”.

But in the inaugural Lord Mayor’s Annual Defence and Security Lecture in London last night, Mr Evans warned a new terror threat has emerged from an “Arab world in radical transition”.

He said while the events offered long term hope there was a “more immediate problem” as al-Qaeda has returned to its native home.

“Today parts of the Arab world have once more become a permissive environment for al-Qaeda.

“This is the completion of a cycle – al-Qaeda first moved to Afghanistan in the 1990s due to pressure in their Arab countries of origin. They moved on to Pakistan after the fall of the Taliban.

“And now some are heading home to the Arab world again. And a small number of British would be jihadis are also making their way to Arab countries to seek training and opportunities for militant activity, as they do in Somalia and Yemen.

“Some will return to the UK and pose a threat here. This is a new and worrying development and could get worse as events unfold.”

europe is toast … and the left in america is leading us down the same road

I had no idea I would be making a post of a comment made here at BMEWS by our friend below.  I thought I was working on something else when I checked comments this morning.

It’s very interesting how we all differ in our expression on a subject we are all agreed on.
Anyway, NJY has really said it well and in fewer words then I often use.  Wish I had that knack but since I don’t, no worry.
I’ll borrow his.

Europe is screwed. It’s gonna be an Islamic paradise before the middle of the century.

That’s because the Europeans allowed it. Many believe they are being “multicultural” heroes. The rest haven’t the time or courage to oppose the tide.

The Europeans who opposed the Islamic culture were afraid of the naive idiots who pushed the Political Correct agenda.

America is going down the same road, albeit a little slower. Actually, I see the need to allow the legalization of the Mexican “illegals”. At least they’re not Muslim and will help dilute the raghead tsunami which is currently ghettoising many major U.S. Cities.

Just wait. It’s gonna get worse and I only hope the Muslims behead the Liberal, Socialist butt lickers first so I can watch and get some serious Schadenfreude before it’s my turn.

June 1st … Belgium.  Muslim scum attack police and riot.

A few days ago while checking emails, but just before the YHOO sign in page, there was a small news blurb about some muslims attacking the police in Belgium.
I made a mental note to go back and see what that was all about, had a lot of mail and answered much and then lost track of things. The same day that I posted that story about the art I admired, I also shared the info and pix with some friends and then remembered the muslim/police thing.
I didn’t see anything on line in my usual places, and nothing on the BBC, so I asked a friend in Belgium what was happening there and that I had read something but wasn’t clear on what I’d seen. It was just a quick scan on my part and I just caught the words, muslims attack police.

Please NOTE that this story is not new.  I’m only now aware of what happened. The story dates from June 1st. But as far as I’m concerned, it’s today’s news simply because it’s the same old same old with these lice infested, scummy and miserable bastards. The west is destroying itself by using the usual civilized police methods, on an uncivilized and barely human life form.  They are nothing more then vile insects who push and push and the host countries treat them as though they are actually real humans. They aren’t and should never be thought of or treated as such. They should each and every one be deleted! Otherwise, the west may as well bend over and kiss its collective ass good bye.

Here was the brief exchange between myself and friend in Belgium, which got me looking for the link(s) I found.

We have seen a news item here with regard to muslims attacking your policemen over some slight or other in Belgium. ???  It wasn’t on BBC news and so wondered what was happening in your part of the world.

Indeed, although the Muslim community in this country always is rather hostile towards the authorities, that was really a case over the top, many days of riots because two police officers tried to check the identity a Muslim woman wearing niqab (apparel not allowed in my country for security reasons). The police officers were seriously hurt themselves by this aggressive woman who smashed the face of the female officer.  All this led to the massive riots. The Muslim community seems to overlook there are limits to acceptable behavior, freedom ends where that of one’s neighbor’s starts… In general the authorities in this country even already tend to be more forgiving and in my eyes laxist towards the this community, espicifically in order to avoid riots as much as possible. I think in general they should be stricter and tend towards zero tolerance when it comes to public order.  But of course when I’m saying that, I am practically considered a racist whereas obviously that’s rubbish. It’s not about racism but about vandalism and violence being intolerable, disregarding ethnicity.

Two policemen were injured and eight people arrested in the riots recorded last night following the arrest of a woman who refused to remove the niqab during a control of identification in a suburb of Brussels, the French-speaking RTBF television reported. Burqas and niqabs (full face veils) have been banned in Belgium since 2011. But, as usual, Muslims think they are above the law.
Delta(H/T Maria) In Moelenbeek, Brussels, police stopped a Muslim woman in a full-face covering veil for an ID check. She refused to show her face, so they escorted her to the police station, where she again refused to comply with their demand that she show her face. The woman, described as a 25-year-old convert to Islam who had already been booked many times for similar offences, was extremely aggressive. She struck several of the police officers, breaking the nose and knocking out 2 teeth of one policewoman, and injuring another, both of whom required hospital treatment.

Meanwhile, a Muslim mob had been quickly summoned by mobile phone, where messages spread the news that the woman had received a beating in police station causing the attempted assault of the police enclosure for up to 150 people. They surrounded the police station, throwing objects at the police. Anti-riot units had to deploy.

The Socialist mayor of the area, Philippe Moureaux, has blamed the group Sharia4Belgium for the incident. He has issued a decree banning any gathering of more than 5 people in the district in case the mob returns tonight. Eight people were arrested during the clashes, which ended at midnight. Security has been increased this morning around the police station with additional agents.

we’ll fight them on the beaches? with what?  human rights laws?

During the last war, the Germans never stood a chance of a successful invasion of this country.  But look what’s happened since then. Powers that be have since those times, invited another sort of invader to these shores.  Mores the pity, cos thanks to rules decided on outside this country,

Brits can no longer fight them on the beaches.

The more time passes the more discouraging it becomes.  Day after day we read the future, or what looks like might be the future, of not just the UK. But Europe as well and eventually, dare I say it out loud?  Possibly the USA as well. And that depends a lot on how well and smart we’re able to handle the left and their hand maidens.  Things as described haven’t happened that I’m aware of in the US. Thankfully. But the same sort of people and the same mind set does exist there.

QC who defended hate preacher Abu Qatada is favourite to be Britain’s new judge in Human Rights Court

A lawyer who has defended terror suspects including radical Islamic cleric Abu Qatada is in line to become Britain’s next judge at the controversial European Court of Human Rights.

Ben Emmerson QC is seen as the strongest candidate on a Government shortlist of three for the nine-year, £150,000 tax-free post at the Strasbourg court. The Council of Europe is due to decide on Tuesday.

But his likely appointment has alarmed Tory MPs, angered by recent court rulings that have overturned Government policy on issues such as the right of prisoners to vote.

They fear Mr Emmerson, 48, a founder of Matrix Chambers where Cherie Blair is a member, is too strong an advocate of human rights to back the Government on issues such as the deportation of terror suspects.

One legal expert said: ‘There are some Tory MPs who think Ben Emmerson is just too Left-wing. They want someone who is more conservative, who they think will be more sympathetic to Britain’s position in cases that are brought against this country.

‘They would also like someone who will push for reforms to curb the powers of the court.’

Mr Emmerson, whose latest known address is a £2 million Georgian house in Highgate, North London, helped draft the 1998 Human Rights Act introduced by Tony Blair which many Tories want to scrap.

Tory MP Priti Patel said she was ‘highly alarmed’ Mr Emmerson had emerged as the front-runner to replace Britain’s current judge Sir Nicholas Bratza.

She said: ‘He has made a name for himself through using human rights legislation to defend terror suspects. How can that be in the interests of our nation? We can’t have a situation where Britain’s next human rights judge is not backing this country’s interests? It is time we had the right kind of individual who is going to actually respect the will of Parliament.

Earlier this year the ECHR ruled that Abu Qatada, who Mr Emmerson represented at several hearings, could not be deported for fear that he would not get a fair trial in Jordan. It also ruled that he could not be detained indefinitely without trial and he was released on bail. Even more controversial was the court’s ruling that prisoners should be given the right to vote, a move David Cameron said made him feel physically sick.

And if that isn’t bad news for our side ..... try this on for size. 

Taliban soldier who killed in battle wins fight to stay in UK - to spare him from persecution by… the Taliban

An Afghan Muslim who claims he killed people while fighting for the Taliban has used the Human Rights Act to remain in Britain – despite Government efforts to deport him.
Zareen Ahmadzai, who spent three years fighting in Afghanistan, has admitted using a Kalashnikov rifle and firing rockets, as well as supplying weapons and food to the Taliban.
The Home Office rejected his claim for asylum, and when his appeal also failed, Ahmadzai was detained at Harmondsworth immigration removal centre in West London while awaiting deportation.

Yet when the 30-year-old – who initially did not speak English – mounted a fresh appeal, he was able to overturn the Home Office’s case on the grounds that his life would be at risk if he returned home.

The decision is another setback for Home Secretary Theresa May, who is under pressure to reform human rights laws following a series of high-profile cases in which Muslim extremists have avoided deportation.
Ahmadzai arrived in Britain illegally in May 2010 after travelling from Afghanistan in lorries.

Two days later he was arrested at an address in Wolverhampton and claimed asylum. When the Home Office ordered he be deported, he appealed to the immigration court.

Although a judge rejected his appeal, Ahmadzai took his case to the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber.

The tribunal heard Ahmadzai joined the Taliban after his father, who was a commander in Helmand province, was shot dead by US soldiers during a battle. He said that he killed people during his fighting with the Taliban as well as supplying the group with weapons, water and food.

The court ruling said: ‘He believed that he was advancing the cause of Islam. He said that his father was shot during fighting against the Americans.

Ahmadzai claims that when he tried to leave the Taliban after he realised innocent people were being killed, he was taken to a mountain and tortured.
He alleges that shortly afterwards he fled the country but cannot return because his life would be in danger from both the Taliban and the Afghan National Security Forces, who oppose the Islamic extremist group.

And if there a language barrier you can bet your boots he’ll be on benefits and will soon bring over the entire family. Who will also qualify for help.

Things just do not look bright.

She said: “We will raise the next army of Abu Bakr [the first caliph of Islam], [the] army of [Prophet] Muhammad…. We are more than capable, equipped to Islam, and Allah is on our side. We are the backbone of this Ummah… Without us Muslim women, this Ummah will collapse, and with us it will rise and continue to rise until Islam is victorious, until Islam takes its rightful place as the only system for humanity.”

Taliban stops polio vaccines for 162,000 Pakistani children in protest at U.S.

I don’t really care, heartless as that may appear. I don’t wish it on the kids but as far as I’m concerned, everyone born in that part of the world is a potential terrorist from birth.  But I do think this so called ‘warrior’ is mad.

Taliban stops polio vaccines for 162,000 Pakistani children in protest at U.S. drone strikes

A Taliban commander has banned polio vaccines for more than 162,000 children in north-west Pakistan - until U.S. drone attacks in the country are stopped.
Hafiz Gul Bahadur said in a pamphlet distributed on Saturday that polio vaccination teams should stay away from the North Waziristan territory he controls near the Afghan border.
He wrote: ‘We don’t want benefits from well-wishers who spend billions to save children from polio, which can affect
one or two out of hundreds of thousands.

‘While on the other hand the same well-wisher (America), with the help of its slave (Pakistan’s government), kills hundreds of innocent tribesmen including old women and children by unleashing numerous drone attacks.’

The statement is a severe obstacle to efforts to beat polio in Pakistan, one of only three nations where the virus is endemic.
The pamphlet also said spies could enter the region under the cover of vaccination teams to get information for the United States about ‘holy warriors’.

After a brief bit of computer bother I’m up and running. Paid a visit to Bare Naked islam and this caught my attention immediately.

And we are requesting a law that forbids insults of religious figures and religious sacred opinions.” Not to worry, Hillary Clinton is working on it as we speak.
