That Takes Balls
Is it April Fool’s Day again already? No? Then this really takes the cake. Kim-chee Jong mentally-Il, suffering from a terminal case of ESS.
Cash-strapped North Korea has demanded the United States pay almost $US65 trillion ($AU75 trillion) in compensation for six decades of hostility.
The official North Korean news agency, KCNA, says the cost of the damage done by the US since the peninsula was divided in 1945 is estimated at $US64.96 trillion.
The compensation call comes on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the start of the 1950-1953 Korean War.
KCNA said the figure includes $US26.1 trillion arising from US “atrocities” which left more than 5 million North Koreans dead, wounded, kidnapped or missing.
The agency also claims 60 years of US sanctions have caused a loss of $US13.7 trillion by 2005, while property losses were estimated at $US16.7 trillion.
The agency said North Koreans have “the justifiable right” to receive the compensation for their blood.
It said the committee’s calculation did not include the damage North Korea had suffered from sanctions after its first nuclear test in 2006.
WTH, what with Obama in the White House, he’s got an even chance of collecting.
thanks to Rich K!

Moonbat Island
Moonbat Money Quote: “People in the US need to help us produce, not give us food and seeds. They’re ruining our chance to support ourselves” because, you know, actually giving somebody some seeds so that they could, like, totally grow their own crops, and then sell them, or at least hand out the food so that nobody starves, is NOT helping anyone support themselves.
But the seeds are evil!!!
Four months after a devastating earthquake ripped apart their country, the people of Haiti are still suffering, so you’d think a multi-million-dollar donation of vegetable seeds would be welcome news. But two Haitian groups, backed by the activist group Grassroots International, are urging farmers to do the unthinkable: burn the donated seeds.
This evil campaign puts politics ahead of humanity, and it is sad that charities like the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the New York Community Trust are funding Grassroots International’s perversely named “social justice” campaign.
The two groups, the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) and the National Peasant Movement of the Congress of Papay (MPMKP), argue that the hybrid seeds donated by Monsanto will somehow undermine the “food sovereignty” of Haiti. They also assert, without any scientific basis, that the donated seeds are somehow unsafe. Nothing could be further from the truth, as seeds like those donated have been used safely for generations.
It isn’t the crop they’re against, it’s the corp — they just don’t like private companies. They’re convinced that “agri-business” is a bad thing, as if private companies shouldn’t be in the business of innovating and selling agricultural products to people trying to grow food.
Right. Economies of scale is just one more thing that Haitians have no awareness of. I guess every person on earth is supposed to walk down there and hand over a kernel of corn.
“A new earthquake” is what peasant farmer leader Chavannes Jean-Baptiste of the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) called the news that Monsanto will be donating 60,000 seed sacks (475 tons) of hybrid corn seeds and vegetable seeds, some of them treated with highly toxic pesticides. The MPP has committed to burning Monsanto’s seeds, and has called for a march to protest the corporation’s presence in Haiti on June 4, for World Environment Day.
In an open letter sent May 14, Chavannes Jean-Baptiste, the executive director of MPP and the spokesperson for the National Peasant Movement of the Congress of Papay (MPNKP), called the entry of Monsanto seeds into Haiti “a very strong attack on small agriculture, on farmers, on biodiversity, on Creole seeds ... and on what is left our environment in Haiti."(1) Haitian social movements have been vocal in their opposition to agribusiness imports of seeds and food, which undermines local production with local seed stocks. They have expressed special concern about the import of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
“We’re for seeds that have never been touched by multinationals. In our advocacy, we say that seeds are the patrimony of humanity. No one can control them,” said Doudou Pierre, national coordinating committee member of the National Haitian Network for Food Sovereignty and Food Security (RENHASSA), in a recent interview. “We reject Monsanto and their GMOs. GMOs would be the extermination of our people.”
A march is being held in Haiti today for World Environment Day, called by at least four major national peasant organizations and one international one. The march’s purpose is to protest the new arrival of Monsanto seeds. The day’s slogans include, “Long live native seeds” and “Down with Monsanto. Down with GMO and hybrid seeds.”
Several U.S. organizations are planning simultaneous events to protest the entry of the controversial multinational in Haiti.
Last month, Haitian citizens learned the news that the giant agribusiness Monsanto will be “donating” 60,000 seed sacks (475 tons) of hybrid corn seeds and vegetable seeds. While the seeds are free this year, peasant organizations see a Trojan horse, with Monsanto seeking to gain a foothold in the Haitian market. Hybrid seeds typically do not regenerate, so that farmers would have to buy them again each year, and they generally require large quantities of fertilizer and pesticides (two products that also fill Monsanto’s annual coffers).
So far, Monsanto has said that the donated corn seeds are not genetically modified but are hybrids, which means that they may not be suitable for replanting in the subsequent seasons. By cultivating Monsanto’s corn, Haitian peasant farmers will be forced to make annual purchases of seeds.
After the earthquake, much of Haiti’s rural seed stocks were used to help feed people who fled to rural areas from devastated towns and cities. In a message to Haitian farmers, Chavannes stated, “Monsanto is taking advantage of the earthquakeŠto open the country’s doors to this powerful company. We cannot accept this.”
Somewhat famous Moonbat Queen Jill Richardson agrees:
In the past few days since I’ve returned from the Land of No Internet, there’s been much buzz about Monsanto’s “generous” donation of hybrid seeds to Haitian farmers. I have just witnessed agricultural success in Haiti’s nearest neighbor - Cuba - and I saw firsthand that in most cases, farmers use open-pollinated (not hybrid) seeds, and they save their own seeds from one season to the next. I’d imagine it may be different on large sugarcane or tobacco operations, but those places would be growing crops for export. The places I saw grew food to feed their communities, which will be of the utmost importance in Haiti.
I must admit I’m quite pleased to see this headline: “Haitian Farmers Commit to Burning Monsanto Hybrid Seeds. Hybrid seeds cannot be saved, and saved seeds have a limited shelflife, particularly in a humid, tropical environment. Thus, a donation of hybrid seeds can be like a donation of an addictive drug from a drug dealer. You get your first bit for free, and then you’re hooked. You need to buy the next batch yourself. Of course, Haitians can accept the donation and then buy open-pollinated seeds the next year, but that doesn’t negate the fact that hybrid seeds are a very short term gift because they don’t produce seeds you can save.
...
Thus, Haiti’s Peasant Movement of Papay has called on Haitian farmers to burn Monsanto’s seeds and march in opposition to Monsanto on June 4, World Environment Day. All I can say (besides hallelujah!) is that I hope Haiti’s next door neighbor Cuba comes through with agricultural help, both open pollinated seeds adapted to the local climate and technical expertise. Haiti is truly lucky to be located next door to one of the world’s best example of food sovereignty in the making.
Yeah, that’s it. The ultimate leftist fantasy. CUBA is going to save the day. Because the people there are all so damn fat from all the food they grow themselves that the country can just give it all away. And look at how much help Cuba has been to Haiti with this earthquake disaster relief! Hardly any other country on earth has had to come to Haiti’s aid, no donations from anywhere have been needed, no volunteers, no military presence to keep the peace, no non-stop airlifts of the sick and wounded to Florida and other places with terrible oppressive health care. Fidel and Raul did all themselves!
Whadda SLAG. Whadda maroon.
So ... Haiti’s farms were devastated by the earthquake, and in the aftermath everyone ate up all the seeds that had been set aside for planting. So Haiti has NO remaining native seed stock. And nothing growing in the fields. And no fertilizers or pesticides. So some EVIL corporation donates them a whole bunch - literally a small shipload - of seeds that will grow now, grow fast, and grow there, which are pretreated to resist bugs, maybe even pre-fertilized, etc. Which means they will allow Haitians to feed Haitians this year. No, this doesn’t give them a permanent solution, but it would keep people from starving. Next year maybe somebody else will donate some more seeds. Or maybe what little seed stock Haiti has left can be grown purely to produce more seed stock, on a small bit of land, while this supercrop grows on the rest and feeds the people.
So of course it gets rejected. Because you have a right to remain on welfare unless you are offered an easy job that pays $15 million a year. Same logic. Naturally, a bunch of protesters and various other dirty hippies will be burning Monsanto seeds today in commiseration. All on World Environment Day. Because all that extra smoke and CO2 in the air is good for Mother Earth! Plus it’s always a great idea to get rid of pesticide coated seeds by burning them. Toxic vapors? Whatchu talkin bout Willis?
“Genetically Modified” always makes me laugh. Because it’s ever so much more evil than plain old hybridization, which has been going on for 10,000 years, ever since wheat was a 6” tall variety of lawn grass and corn grew ears 2” long. And cows were these big nasty critters in the forests called Aurochs, which would kill you in an eye-blink whenever they got the chance. The wheat, corn, and cows we have today are all products of the slow method of genetic modification: selective breeding. Hybridization. Same thing, just slower. Science merely speeds up the process. And let’s face it, not all hybrids are sterile, or even first generation. Those tasty Beefsteak tomatoes you grow in your garden were hybridized decades ago ... and then the ones that bred true were selected. Repeat that a few times and you get “heirloom” seeds that make the same plant every generation!
First, Monsanto had to identify seed from its inventory that would be well-suited to Haitian growing climates. That was perhaps the simplest part. The seeds include corn (field, not sweet), cabbage, carrot, eggplant, melon, onion, tomato, spinach and watermelon. Contrary to some online reports (sparked by this erroneous blog posting), these seeds are not derived from biotechnology (GMO). They are conventionally bred, hybrid seeds. Also, Monsanto is not donating herbicide or fertilizer, as those reports falsely state.
Though hybrid seeds were widely grown 30 years ago in Haiti, we were sensitive to the fact that hybrid seeds are not widely used in Haiti today. Hybrids have been in use for decades in other countries, including the Dominican Republic. Given the choice, farmers generally select hybrid seeds because they generate more food and grain per acre or hectare. Monsanto personnel consulted with the Ministry of Agriculture in Haiti and heard very clearly the ministry sees the opportunity for increased yields that hybrid seed creates for Haitian farmers.
and also a spokeperson, Mica, who patiently answers all the attacks aimed at them. Gosh, because HuffPo got their facts wrong about the pesticides and the fertilizers and so forth. Yes, to continue to grow very high yielding crops, the Haitian farmers would need to buy fresh seeds every year. Just like every other commercial farmer on the planet. Subsistence farming with heirloom seeds and no soil management grows less and less food every year. All of which means that Monsanto gave these island farmers a chance to climb up out of the mud and join the rest of the world. Of course they rejected that!

Islamoloonies
Leading Iranian Islamic Scholar: sexy women cause earthquakes.
No, seriously, I’m not making this up.
A senior Iranian cleric has claimed that dolled-up women incite extramarital sex, causing more earthquakes in Iran, a country that straddles several fault lines, newspapers reported today.
“Many women who dress inappropriately ... cause youths to go astray, taint their chastity and incite extramarital sex in society, which increases earthquakes,” Ayatollah Kazem Sedighi told worshippers at overnight prayers in Tehran.
”Calamities are the result of people’s deeds,” he was quoted as saying by reformist Aftab-e Yazd newspaper.
Every post-pubescent woman regardless of her religion or nationality must cover her hair and bodily contours in public. Offenders face punishment and fine.
But this has not stopped urban women from appearing in the streets wearing tight coats and flimsy headscarves and layers of skilfully applied makeup.
Iran is prone to frequent quakes, many of which have been devastating.
The worst in recent times hit the southern city of Bam in December 2003, killing 31,000 people - about a quarter of the population - and destroying its ancient mud-built citadel.
The Bam earthquake was caused by a pair of Manolo Blahniks, right?
Oh noes, Allah save us, we are all gonna die!!

Change for the sake of being silly
Notice anything different today?

Google changes it’s name to Topeka. Why? Because Topeka Kansas changed it’s name to Google Kansas. Right. Sure. Like anyone would ever google Kansas.
A different kind of company name
4/01/2010 12:01:00 AM
Early last month the mayor of Topeka, Kansas stunned the world by announcing that his city was changing its name to Google. We’ve been wondering ever since how best to honor that moving gesture. Today we are pleased to announce that as of 1AM (Central Daylight Time) April 1st, Google has officially changed our name to Topeka. We didn’t reach this decision lightly; after all, we had a fair amount of brand equity tied up in our old name. But the more we surfed around (the former) Topeka’s municipal website, the more kinship we felt with this fine city at the edge of the Great Plains.
In fact, Topeka Google Mayor Bill Bunten expressed it best: “Don’t be fooled. Even Google recognizes that all roads lead to Kansas, not just yellow brick ones.”
This is just silly. It was bad enough when the web site entered our lexicon as a verb to replace “search”. Just Google it. Fine. But I’ll be damned if now I’m going to Topeka anything. Except boobies. “Did you check that view?” “Hella yeah, I’d like Topeka that, maybe sneak a downblouse.”

Needed at once, urgent, FOUR (as in 4) men and a very large machine to move one mattress.

AWARD TO: Bolton Metropolitan Council.
Cue the fan-fare for this one ......... what’s happened to ppl ? why are they getting dumber? can’t ALL be liberals for gosh sake.
Take a look.
Council officials said they could not remove a mattress dumped on an embankment after claiming they needed four men and a JCB to do the job.
By Paul Byrne 31/03/2010
Zealots’ daft safety ruling
Householders in Little Lever, near Bolton, Greater Manchester, had assumed that the mattress would be promptly removed by one or two workers after it was reported to the local authority.
But they had failed to take into account the health and safety requirements of Bolton Metropolitan Council.
Have you ever wondered how many people it takes to move a dumped mattress? Five, according to health and safety council jobsworths - plus a three-hour risk assessment by an executive support officer, a 1.7-tonne JCB and one week to set it all up.
Bolton town hall penpushers laid down the rules after an old mattress was abandoned on an embankment. One councillor, Sean Hornby, got so fed up that he and pal Paul Richardson, 63, carried it away themselves.
Sean, 43, said: “It’s health and safety gone mad. The policies are barmy. I’m not saying it was an easy job but it took us four minutes.” Yet an official had earlier emailed him to say: “After carrying out the risk assessment, it is not possible to remove the mattress manually and it requires a JCB.”
A council spokesman defended the ridiculous ruling and said: “An officer carried out a visual assessment and decided the most appropriate course was… mechanical equipment.”
Baffled Paul added: “Risk assessment has taken over from common sense.”

70-year-old fends off knife wielding robber with iron bar, guy comes back and so gets whacked again

AWARDED TO THE WOULD BE IDIOT ROBBER, ... belatedly
Would a normal, smart bandit come back?
Bravo to the old fellow for downing this jerk. Kinda sorry though that he didn’t stop his useless breathing cos we all know in a short time, the gremlin will be out doing it all over again.
The surprise here is that the guy defending wasn’t arrested too. Maybe violating the gremlin’s rights or some such nonsense.
This article originates in 2009. I do not recall seeing it before or if I did, not in this form. But it was listed in the Telegraph on line and I just thought it was good enough and even funny enough to post. And so I am.
A 70-year-old shop worker who was threatened by a knife-wielding robber fended him off by hitting him over the head with an iron bar.
Harbhajan Singh showed no fear despite being locked in the shop and having the long 12 inch blade waved in his face.
He was working behind the till of the Costcutter store when knifeman Deryk Traylen ran into the shop claiming to have a gun and took a customer hostage.Traylen, 35, locked the shop door then went up to the post office counter and demanded money from Mr Singh’s son-in-law.
But the brave grandfather grabbed an iron bar from behind the shop counter, then crept up behind the robber and hit him on the hand to disarm him.
Traylen then pretended to leave but came back with a 12 inch knife, so the elderly shop worker hit him over the head.“I didn’t have any fear, my daughter and family were in trouble and I had to protect them,” said Mr Singh, who has been nicknamed the Turbanator for his heroics,
“My aim was to disarm him so I hit him on the hand to make him drop the gun, but he came back with a knife, so I hit him on the head.”

EARTH HOUR IS ONLY MINUTES AWAY HERE IN UK AS MILLIONS OF IDIOTS BUY INTO JUNK SCIENCE
An article appeared in the Sat. Times which isn’t available (that I can find) saying this even will actually use up more energy and cause larger emissions. HA!
First of all .... Please go and turn on extra lights in your house for the next hour. Screw these jerks. I already have every light in the house on as I write.
Experts say that the great switch off will not result in less energy being pumped into grids. But that when everythings gets turned back on, there will be an increase. Also they say that the upsurge in turning the lights back on one hour later will require power stations that can fire up quickly such as coal and oil. The experts say that the result will be an increase rendering all good intentions useless. HA once again. These comments appeared under a headline which read, “Costly way to save the earth.”
OK, that’s it. Go turn on those extra lights.
Landmarks go dark, millions unplug for Earth Hour
By ROHAN SULLIVAN (AP) – 7 hours ago
SYDNEY — The white-shelled roof of the Sydney Opera House fell dark Saturday night, one of the first landmarks to turn out the lights in an hour-long gesture to be repeated by millions of people around the world who are calling for a binding pact to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Asian cities followed Australia and New Zealand as the fourth annual Earth Hour cranked up. Buildings in some 4,000 cities in more than 120 countries were expected to unplug to reduce energy consumption and draw attention to the dangers of climate change, according to organizers.
The event will roll across the world, with participants turning off the lights when the clock strikes 8:30 p.m. local time. From a shopping mall in Manila to the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Empire State Building in New York, landmarks and skylines will dim.
“We have everyone from Casablanca to the safari camps of Namibia and Tanzania taking part,” said Greg Bourne, CEO of World Wildlife Fund in Australia, the environmental group that came up with the idea that started in Sydney in 2007 and has since grown to every continent.
The shutdown is completely voluntary and street lights, traffic lights and other safety measures are unaffected.
Andy Ridley, a WWF worker in Sydney who cooked up the idea of Earth Hour in a pub with friends, said he hoped this year’s event would inspire world leaders to strive for a much stronger climate agreement than that struck at December’s Copenhagen climate change summit, which failed to come up with binding rules on reducing pollution blamed for global warming.
“What we’re still looking for in this coming year is a global deal that encourages all countries to lower their emissions,” Ridley said Saturday. “China is going to have to be a big part of that but so is every other major economy.”
China first took part in the campaign last year, and this year more than 30 cities were to switch off their lights, including those at the landmark Forbidden City in downtown Beijing.
A U.S.-born giant panda, Mei Lan, who lives at the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan, will kick off China’s participation: When she walks onto a platform in her enclosure, the lights at the breeding center will go out, said Chris Chaplin, communications officer for WWF in China.
Some 88 cities took part in last year’s Earth Hour, which has the backing of the United Nations as well as global corporations, nonprofit groups, schools, scientists and celebrities — including Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and retired Cape Town Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Earth Hour organizers say there’s no uniform way to measure how much energy is saved worldwide, but that the simple fact that so many places have signed up to take part should send a message to leaders that global warming is a topic of great concern to people worldwide.
In the Philippines, Roman Catholic bishops said they would urge the faithful to preserve natural resources during special prayers to be read on church-run radio for an hour starting at 8:30 p.m.
“Failure of today’s people to care for the earth’s resources is akin to stealing the future of the coming generations,” said Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Rosales.
Residents in 1,000 towns and municipalities were expected to switch off their lights in the Philippines, with the main event taking place at a Manila Bay mall complex, including a rock concert and street party, according to WWF-Philippines.
In Taiwan, the Presidential Palace along with at least 20 skyscrapers — including the world’s second-tallest building — in the capital of Taipei switched off their lights. Hundreds of Taiwanese placed candles beside a Taiwan map formed by energy-saving LED lights at a square outside the city hall. Also dimmed for an hour were large advertising billboards in a nearby commercial district.
Amazing how easily idiots can be led. I guess they’ll all come away thinking they’ve done something other then waste time.

BREAKING NEWS: North Korea ‘torpedos and sinks’ South Korean navy ship with 104 sailors on board
The nut jobs running things in the starving north and of course that’s means Kim Jong one dong whoever. Whatcha thinks folks? War between the two after all these years? Prolly not.
But a Moonbat Award to: Kim Jong-il of N. Korea. Jerk.

NORTH KOREAN ATTACK ON SHIP FROM SOUTH
By Mail Foreign Service
Last updated at 4:23 PM on 26th March 2010A South Korean naval ship with 104 on board was sinking today after a suspected torpedo attack by North Korea.
![]()
The 1,500-tonne vessel is going down near Baengnyeong island, with rescue crews fearing many sailors have died.
In apparent retaliation, the South Korean navy shot at an unidentified ship in the direction of North Korea.
The incident is viewed as a potential flashpoint which could plunge the two countries into all-out conflict.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said that it is not clear what caused the ship to sink. It is believed 59 sailors have been rescued.
South Korea’s government has convened an emergency meeting of security ministers, according to state television.
Authorities say the ship began sinking around 10:45 pm local time (1.45pm GMT) in the Yellow Sea.
The dramatic escalation between the two countries comes after North Korea has warned that it was bolstering its defences in response to joint South Korean-U.S. military drills that were held this month.
North Korea had already threatened ‘unprecedented nuclear strikes’ against its southern neighbour and the U.S over claims they are planning to topple the communist regime.
[ Drew steps in ]
I was just going to post on this one but Peiper beat me to it. Lots of links on the story everywhere.

The Winnipeg Sun is reporting that several of the sailors were killed.
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE62P30E20100326
Reuters is saying that the South Koreans are now saying that they are not sure that the North Koreans were involved. Politics!
Wikipedia says this ship, the Cheonan, named for a city in NW South Korea, was a member of the Pohang class of corvettes. Global Security confirms this. The Pohang class ships are about 290 feet long, armed with one or two 76mm guns, 2 30mm or 40mm rapid fire guns, and a small batch of anti-ship missiles. Mainly they are used for coastal patrol and anti-submarine duty.

These are not large ships, but they are still quite a bit bigger than the 165 foot motor gunboats pictured on South Korean television (see Yahoo News link above) and at the Daily Mail link Peiper sourced.
Stay tuned to this story. My guess is it will all blow over, and that the sinking will be attributed to some sort of accident, even though I think it was a mine that did her in.
UPDATE: That didn’t take long! Now the claim is the ship suffered a wardrobe malfunction accidentally set off some explosives onboard. Uh huh, right. Sure. Right off the Nork’s coast. I’m sure they were set off accidentally. By a torpedo or an anti-ship missile accidentally coming through the side of the ship and blowing up. Politics. Probably got a call from Obama who told them “not now dammit!” It’s such an obvious lie.

More on the jerk who says,I’d rather recruit ex-drug dealers, convicts and even child molesters
A company boss has compared British soldiers to paedophiles and drug dealers after refusing a request by a recruitment service to provide jobs for former troops.
Karl Winn, 60, said he would rather ‘recruit ex-drug dealers, convicts and child molesters’ than employ former servicemen or women.
His comments came after he was contacted by Forces Recruitment Services and asked if he would consider taking on ex-soldiers at his net design company Webeurope.
Mr Winn, of Taunton, Somerset, wrote back: ‘Personally, I’d rather recruit ex-drug dealers, convicts and even child molesters rather than consider anybody who has been in the pay of the British Government.’
‘The reality for the families of their victims is that there will never be any justice, and there never will be any closure, for the loss of a son, a husband, a child, or a family member who has fallen victim to British Military personnel who are going beyond ‘just doing their job’.
‘Please remove us from your email list. Regards, Karl.’
Despite initially blaming a disgruntled ex-worker who he claimed had hacked into his emails, Mr Winn later admitted to The Sun that he had written them - and stood by his comments.
He admitted they may have been ‘a bit over the top’ but then said: ‘I don’t regret saying it at all.’
‘Even if it costs me money I’ll still stand up for what I believe in,’ he said.
A company boss has refused to consider former soldiers as potential employees
‘If you have a paedophile, at least he goes to court and is seen to be accountable for what he’s done. That’s why I made a reference.’
And here’s the grand offices of this creep’s business. Impressed?
OK, I know ppl have going concerns even operating out of their homes. So what looks to me like a public loo doesn’t mean his business isn’t a good one. Too bad if it is. Here what this guy is all about.
webeurope - press statement
Extract from a Press Statement issued by Relatives for Justice on 13th March 2010
“‘Webeurope .. have heard at first hand the true extent of the role of the British army, the trauma, hurt and anguish caused - importantly they have acted to heal, support and address in their own way the awful legacy left behind as a direct consequence of British state violence in our country. ‘For that we are greatly indebted to them and in particular Karl Winn whose commitment to non-violence means, human rights, social justice, compassion and humanity are an example to us all.’Background
Karl Winn, Webeurope’s founder and principle owner, has for many years supported numerous organisations (NGO’s), such organisations include: -
The International Human Rights Network - Supporting others in applying Human Rights Based Approaches to UN Agencies, countries, and organisations.
Film Makers Against War - FAW seeks to educate and raise awareness of UK and international war law
Art and Sacred Places - Encourages the interaction of art and religion by commissioning artists to make work in sacred places.Relatives for Justice – A northern Ireland based organisation that supports and campaigns on behalf of the families of the 367 men, women, and children, who have been killed by members of the British Military and Police services. The campaign seeks to bring the perpetrators of such killings before the courts.
Should you be interested, here’s a link to all of his press statement. http://www.webeurope.co.uk/press-release.php The usual anti war, anti-military and oh how bad the Brit military acted in Ireland, illegally and with murder in their hearts yadda, yadda. Well hell, you can read it all for yourselves. Of course, not a word about ira bombings and killings of innocents. Nooo. Only the Brit military did that. That’s my take and if I’m wrong, let me know.
Here’s a bit more just so you’re clear about this idiot.
‘The reality from the north of Ireland, to Afghanistan and Iraq, is that the perpetrators of such atrocities will always be free to get on with their lives, safe in the knowledge that the policy of the British Government is to ensure their protection from prosecution.’
‘I will therefore continue with my blanket ban on employing ex-military personnel. I understand this will affect innocent as well as guilty people.’

ON YOUR KNEES IN AMERICA AND KISS THE GROUND FOR YOUR GOOD FORTUNE. BE THANKFUL EVRY DAY.
They wouldn’t dare try this crap in the USA. Or would they? I wish the heck they would. It might be interesting to see what the reaction, and action, would be.
Perhaps it could trigger the final confrontation needed to rid ourselves of this virus in our own back yard. But it won’t.
Meanwhile, DO NOT place the blame on the muzzies. No,no. They’ll go as far as the powers that be allow them to go. That’s the nature of the beast. If there’s any fault, it’s with the BS diversity, left wing libtard, muslim apologists and sympathizers. Do not blame the muslims.
Blame creeps like this bastard, this filthy lying SOB, this traitor and fugitive from a fetid swamp crawling with slime and disease. Blame ppl like this.
‘I’d rather employ a paedophile than a hero’: Company boss compares British troops to child molesters in rant at job agency
I can’t wish enough bad things on that perv. I can’t even come up with swear words that fit the anger. I’d like to feed him to a pack of rabid wild dogs. No, that’s way too easy. His comments are way beyond freedom of speech and expression. It’s life forms like that, that in turn allow things like the following.

Faisal Yamani, a Jeddah based lawyer, is planning to take a case to London’s libel courts on behalf of over 90,000 descendants of Mohammed who have claimed that the drawings have defamed them and the Islamic faith.
Cartoon caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed were published in Danish newspapers in 2006 triggering violent protests across the Muslim world and riots which claimed the lives of over 50 people.
According to Danish press reports, the case can be heard in the Britain because the images, including a caricature of Mohammed with a bomb shaped turban, have been freely accessible via the internet.
Danish politicians and publishers are furious that European Union rules reward “libel tourism” by enforcing British defamation rulings across Europe.
Ebbe Dal, managing director of Danske Dagblades Forening, the Danish national newspaper association, is concerned that Britain’s tough libel laws could be used to restrict free speech in liberal countries such as Denmark.
“The Danish courts have decided that the case is not actionable and that we are allowed to print the drawings in Danish newspapers and websites,” he said.
“It would be very odd if a civilised country like Britain could go against that. If this succeeded we would have to pay a lot of money to Saudi Arabians misusing the British courts to make it difficult for freedom of speech.”
Mr Yamani demanded last year that 11 Danish newspapers remove all cartoon images of Mohammed from their websites and issue front page apologies along with promises that the images would never be printed again.
Only one newspaper, Politiken, agreed to the demand leading to the new threat of an expensive British court action backed by wealthy Saudi Muslims.
Lars Barfoed, the Danish justice minister, has complained to the European Commission that EU rules forcing Denmark to enact British court rulings would damage freedom of expression.
“It’s fundamentally reasonable that judgments in the EU can often be exercised across borders. But it would be taking it to the extreme if a UK court could rule against the Danish media and then require compensation and court costs to be paid,” he said.
EU officials have acknowledged that libel judgements in the British courts have become a major issue since “Rome II” rules on mutual recognition of European court rulings entered into force last year.
“We are well aware that there is a problem with libel and defamation tourism involving Britain, where judges can be sympathetic and damages awards are high. There will be a review next year,” said an official.
A British Ministry of Justice working group on libel law is expected to publish a report calling for reform later this month.
“The government is concerned about any potential chilling effect that our libel laws are having on freedom of speech,” said a spokesman.

Political correctness strikes back: Jedi believer wins apology and says he’ll sue. Ah diversity.
Surely this has to be embarrassing for Brits. This guy isn’t a fool. He knows exactly what he’s doing. The fools are the people who allow it and cave in with “Oh we are so sorry.” A brick in the face and he’d soon change his religion. My problem with the hood thing is the very same problem that most others have. The association with often violent crime committed by guys (often younger this this fellow) wearing hoods. Referred to as “Hoodies.” And they damn well are intimidating in groups. OK so he was alone. He’s bogus and he can say whatever he wants to about adopting this movie thing as a religion. The fault also is at the foot of the lady who wrote the letter of apology. See it at the link. This is just another example of the declining culture that’s been allowed to flourish.
I wonder what the end game will look like. I won’t be here to see it that’s certain, and maybe that’s a good thing.
Political correctness strikes back: Jedi believer wins apology after being kicked out of Jobcentre for wearing a hoodBy Andrew Levy
Last updated at 8:48 AM on 17th March 2010When benefits claimant Chris Jarvis was asked to put down his hood in a Jobcentre, he said he was entitled to wear it because of his Jedi ‘faith’.
When he continued to wear the cowl despite repeated warnings, he was escorted from the premises by security guards.
Yet in a case which sums up the march of political correctness in the public sector, he has now received a grovelling apology saying that the government agency ‘embraces diversity and respects a customer’s religion’. ‘Jediism’ was made up for the Star Wars films.
The father of three now plans to sue Jobcentre Plus in Southend for discrimination, despite admitting he took up the ‘faith’ last year only as an excuse to wear hooded tops.
‘I am a Star Wars follower. It means following the way of the Jedi,’ he said yesterday. ‘The main reason is I want to wear my hood up and I have got a religion which allows me to do that.
‘Someone with their own religious views is allowed to wear what their religion says - the Sikhs are able to carry a great big dagger. My religion allows me to wear my hood.’
Mr Jarvis later wrote to complain. In response, manager Wendy Flewers wrote: ‘Jobcentre Plus is committed to provide a customer service which embraces diversity and respects a customer’s religion or beliefs.

Today in History… and other fun stuff
Vilmar reminds us that today is the anniversary of Rachel Corrie’s claim to fame: death by bulldozer. (Google the moonbat yourself if you don’t know/remember)
However, as I reminded Vilmar in a comment on his post, today is also the birthday of James ‘Father of the Constitution’ Madison (also our fourth President)
This evening I was innocently opening the bills in preparation for paying them. The phone bill contained a surprise:
proclaimed the insert. You are Included in a Class Action Settlement Involving Your DSL Service
I hate class-action lawsuits. How dare they include me without my permission! This is just a way for liberal lawyers to attack capitalism. If we ever get any tort reform, part of that should be the outlawing of class-action lawsuits. But I digress. What was the lawsuit about?
A proposed Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging that AT&T failed to deliver DSL Service to its customers at the speeds promised.
It goes on to state that their records show that my DSL service was not affected. However, if I believe it was I can submit a claim for a one-time payment of…
Wait for it…
$2.00!
I get a whopping $2.00. How much did the lawyers get? And how much will my DSL service go UP PER MONTH as a result?
When I signed up for DSL, AT&T offered three different speed plans. I chose the middle one (don’t ask, I don’t remember the speeds) which I’ve had no complaints about. I WILL complain if my rates go up as a result of this ‘settlement’.

Drew ... is there some way to embed just one of the bats on this photo? I wanted to do that where I have the text on the pix. Jeesh.
This woman needs counseling pretty quick.
If she ever fell down, how would they get her upright short of a construction crane? And we know who will end up picking up her medical tab.
What was it Texas Guinan said? Oh yeah.
[what, like this? Drew]
The super-sized 602 lb. mother who is determined to become the world’s fattest woman
By Daily Mail Reporter‘My favourite food is sushi, but unlike others I can sit and eat 70 big pieces of sushi in one go,’ she said.
‘I do love cakes and sweet things, doughnuts are my favourite.’
Donna, who wears XXXXXXXL dresses, eats mounds of junk food and tries to move as little as possible.
Ms Simpson already holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s fattest mother, when she gave birth in 2007 weighing 38stone.
She needed a team of 30 medics to deliver her daughter Jacqueline during a high-risk Caesarean birth.
Yet although she can only move 20ft before needing to sit down, she wants to be even bigger.
‘I’d love to be 1,000lb,’ she said.
‘It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down.’
Donna Simpson already weighs 43st, but she is determined to nearly double her size to become the world’s fattest woman.
The 42-year-old from New Jersey, U.S, is set on reaching the 1,000lb mark (71st) in just two years. Remarkably she insists she is healthy, despite now needing a mobility scooter when she goes shopping.

Insinuating that a woman is not as strong as a man will be “unlawful sex discrimination”

Why heck, we’re runnin’ out of bats for this one. Mz Harperson really demands and intends to leave no feelings or even the possibility that there lurks the intent, or the the possibility that by pure accident, a lady may be offended and thereby have her “rights” impinged. Hey .. read this and tell us if she isn’t off the edge of the flat planet she is living on. In fact ... NOBODY, men or women will have hurt feelings or more specifically, their ‘umin rights’ abused or brought into question, as Harperson see those rights.
I will not take the time to go through this and post comments line by line. It’s too exhaustive and time consuming. This legislation is full of so much crap I don’t see how it can pass. But there isn’t any mistake that Happy Deluded Harriet thinks it a neat idea and worthy of becoming the law of the land.
She is for now, the BMEWS Queen of Moonbats.
Note to Drew. We need to get her face on a bat to use for that purpose. With a little moombat crown maybe.
What, like this??

Thanks to Doc DETH!
Gym staff could be prosecuted for warning a woman not to lift heavy weights under equality legislation being championed by Harriet Harman.
By Melissa Kite, Deputy political editorInsinuating that a woman is not as strong as a man will be “unlawful sex discrimination”, under the terms of the forthcoming Equality Bill.
A code of practice explaining the legal implications of the Bill, which is currently going through Parliament, states that being a woman is “a protected characteristic”.The code, drawn up by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, explains ways in which women might be unfairly stereotyped and defines behaviours that will in future be seen as discrimination.
It includes a long list of examples of “unintentional less favourable treatment” including what might happen to a woman when she joins a gym and begins lifting weights. It states: “A general stereotype about men and women is that in terms of physique, most men are stronger than most women. Nevertheless it is likely to be unlawful sex discrimination for a gym to test every woman’s strength but not every man’s before allowing them access to weightlifting facilities.”
The code makes clear that it will not be seen as an excuse if the motive of the gym staff is to help a woman or save her from injury.
“It does not matter what the service provider’s intentions are or whether the service provider’s less favourable treatment of the person is conscious or unconscious.“The service provider may even think that they are doing the person a favour, or simply be unaware that they are treating the person differently because of a protected characteristic.”
The Bill, championed by Ms Harman, the Equalities Minister, has already courted much controversy and attracted the criticism of the Pope when it proposed that churches would be prosecuted for refusing to employ gay people.
The legislation also provides protection under the law from discrimination for “any religious belief or philosophical belief” and even “a lack of belief”.
Last week it emerged that vegans would be protected, along with members of cults and “new religions” such as Scientology.Advertisements giving preferential treatment to men or women could also be illegal, meaning the end of “ladies’ nights” at clubs, when women receive cut-price drinks or free entrance but men pay full price.
People for whom abstention from alcohol was a way of life would be given new rights to protect them from discrimination. The Bill will give more scope too for the prosecution of shopkeepers and club owners who refuse to allow entry to certain types of people.
It says that shopkeepers who refuse entry to black teenagers, for example, after stories in the local press about thefts in the area by black teenagers will be prosecuted for race discrimination. The Bill also creates a new offence of discrimination by association. The code states that if a nightclub refused entry to three Polish people and an English man, the English man could claim he has suffered racial discrimination by association.
If a boy is refused membership of his local football club and his parents are two lesbian women, he could claim “unlawful direct discrimination by association because of sexual orientation”.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
