Defamation case over Prophet Mohammed cartoons ‘to be held’ in Britain

A Saudi Arabian lawyer has threatened to use British courts to overturn a Danish free speech ruling by bringing a defamation case over cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed that depicted Islam’s founder as a terrorist.

Faisal Yamani, a Jeddah based lawyer, is planning to take a case to London’s libel courts on behalf of over 90,000 descendants of Mohammed who have claimed that the drawings have defamed them and the Islamic faith.

Cartoon caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed were published in Danish newspapers in 2006 triggering violent protests across the Muslim world and riots which claimed the lives of over 50 people.

According to Danish press reports, the case can be heard in the Britain because the images, including a caricature of Mohammed with a bomb shaped turban, have been freely accessible via the internet.

Danish politicians and publishers are furious that European Union rules reward “libel tourism” by enforcing British defamation rulings across Europe.

Ebbe Dal, managing director of Danske Dagblades Forening, the Danish national newspaper association, is concerned that Britain’s tough libel laws could be used to restrict free speech in liberal countries such as Denmark.

“The Danish courts have decided that the case is not actionable and that we are allowed to print the drawings in Danish newspapers and websites,” he said.

“It would be very odd if a civilised country like Britain could go against that. If this succeeded we would have to pay a lot of money to Saudi Arabians misusing the British courts to make it difficult for freedom of speech.”

Mr Yamani demanded last year that 11 Danish newspapers remove all cartoon images of Mohammed from their websites and issue front page apologies along with promises that the images would never be printed again.

Only one newspaper, Politiken, agreed to the demand leading to the new threat of an expensive British court action backed by wealthy Saudi Muslims.

Lars Barfoed, the Danish justice minister, has complained to the European Commission that EU rules forcing Denmark to enact British court rulings would damage freedom of expression.

“It’s fundamentally reasonable that judgments in the EU can often be exercised across borders. But it would be taking it to the extreme if a UK court could rule against the Danish media and then require compensation and court costs to be paid,” he said.

EU officials have acknowledged that libel judgements in the British courts have become a major issue since “Rome II” rules on mutual recognition of European court rulings entered into force last year.

“We are well aware that there is a problem with libel and defamation tourism involving Britain, where judges can be sympathetic and damages awards are high. There will be a review next year,” said an official.

A British Ministry of Justice working group on libel law is expected to publish a report calling for reform later this month.

“The government is concerned about any potential chilling effect that our libel laws are having on freedom of speech,” said a spokesman.

‘Terrorist British Airways worker planned to take advantage of strike’ a pox on unions and muslims

Two things this country and the world can do without. Unions and muslims.

So there I was last night looking up flights to the USA on Brit. Air.  Originally I had planned to use ship, those plans are not abandoned, but there was a very good write up in the weekend travel section of a little known flight BA runs where one can clear US Immigration at Shannon Airport. Huh? Now that’d be ideal. The filght takes an hour longer then the regular overseas flight BUT, you save time once arriving. So anyhow I’m trying to get further info and as it’s a business class flight I know it won’t be cheap.  I also know that the damn union is striking BA and positions are being staffed by volunteers and I guess, strike breakers. So it is pretty risky. And then I woke up to this when I brought in the morning paper.  Damn these useless bastards.

Yeah I know I’m not supposed to think this way but have to ask anyway.

Are you all certain that genocide isn’t after all, the only answer?  This is a scary read.  The boat’s getting to look good again. Oh right. Pirates. Can’t win these days.

BA worker ‘planned to use strike to become suicide bomber and passed on secrets to terror masterminds in Yemen’

A would-be suicide bomber worked for British Airways and plotted to take advantage of cabin crew strikes to launch an attack, it was alleged yesterday.

Rajib Karim, a trusted IT expert at the airline, planned to volunteer for crew training to help keep flights running during the threatened walkouts.

He also used his access to BA’s computer systems to gain insider knowledge about airline security and pass it to terror masterminds in Yemen and Pakistan, a court heard.

Union bosses seized on the revelations to claim that passengers could be endangered by BA’s tactics for beating the planned strikes. The airline says it has more than 1,000 volunteer staff ready to work as cabin crew in the event of industrial action. 

Karim, 30, was born in Bangladesh and came to Britain a few years ago to get a UK passport which would smooth his terror mission, it was claimed.

Two years ago he secured a full-time job at a BA call centre in Newcastle upon Tyne and became ‘heavily involved’ in software development.

But he had a ‘clear intention and desire’ for martyrdom and wanted to become a suicide bomber, Westminster Magistrates Court heard.

His computer allegedly contained encrypted files showing he was in contact with terrorists abroad.

Karim requested ‘permission’ from ‘those who appear to be able to give [it]’ to carry out an atrocity in the UK and suggested to colleagues in Yemen that he might be able to train as a cabin crew member to work on planes during strikes.

This would give him ‘inside knowledge’ of training and procedures that could assist in carrying out a terror attack, the court heard.

He also offered to travel to Yemen and Pakistan to train in terrorism, and suggested other people he knew who could potentially be recruited.

The court heard that Karim gave details of ways in which BA security systems and computer servers could be subjected to physical or internal attack to inflict ‘severe financial losses’.

Meet ‘Jihad Jane’: The blonde American housewife accused in Islamic plot to kill Swedish cartoonist

An American housewife who called herself ‘Jihad Jane’ has been named as part of a plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist who made fun of the Prophet Mohammed.

Colleen LaRose agreed to murder the artist, marry a terrorism suspect so he could move to Europe and martyr herself if necessary, according to court papers.

Al Qaeda put a £67,000 bounty on the head of cartoonist Lars Vilks after a newspaper published his cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog in 2007.

LaRose, 46, of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, was arrested in Philadelphia on October 15. She has been held without bail since her arrest.

Yesterday she was named as being part of the plot to kill Mr Vilks. She is accused of having online discussions about her plans with at least one of several suspects apprehended over that plot in Ireland yesterday.

Dutch MP Geert Wilders defies protesters to screen anti-Islamic film in House of Lords

A few weeks ago we spoke about the trial of a man named Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician being tried by a kangaroo court in his home country. At the moment, it also appears that he may be the next PM of his country.  He has a film, we have had it posted here but you can find it at YT, called FITNA.  It is not a loving testimonial islam. He is highly critical of a religion that he does not believe fits in at all well in Western culture. He also see militant islam as a threat to liberty and says so out loud.  Naturally, the miserable condomstuffers and asswipes on the left and the muzzies want to muzzle him.  Last year he was even denied entry to the former Gt. Britain as a threat to national safety or something of the like.  Of course, the unwashed lice infested rabble that carry signs saying death to the west and the hell with freedom pose no threat at all to the nation. They are members of the ROP and all one needs to do to get along well with this group of vermin, is agree with their views and accept sharia law and islamic customs and religion.

One of the (many) things that piss me off a lot about protesters is that so many of them speak with accents and have names that few outside their own rats nest can pronounce. So I think, why are these sub humans who speak another language from another country here and trying to stop a guest from speaking his mind.
What right does any foreigner have to come here and then try and muzzle an invited politician from another western country.  What are they afraid of. Answer, NOTHING.  They aren’t afraid actually.  They just don’t like the message and don’t want it others to hear it either.  Of course, they have their supporters among the idiot left and traitors.  To be critical of or question the rop automatically makes one a Nazi racist fascist homophobe.

That last is another bothersome red flag item for me.  Someone gets a dozen ppl together and they give themselves a name like the anti-fascist union or anti-Nazi volunteers or somesuch, which they think makes them legit in the eyes of folks who aren’t any of those things, and thus gives em the right to hold up traffic and try and stop the speaker.  In this case, Geert Wilders.  Something else to consider about his visit here today btw.  This is by private invitation for a private meeting and showing of his film.  So the freedom loving anti Fascist groups here don’t even want him speaking privately, never mind what he may say in public.

These folks are a clear and present danger to the west and should be eliminated by any and all means.  Of course they won’t be and they know that. They are safe. For now anyway. And they know that too.
I wish I could have worded this better then I have.  I really am very much PO’d that more people can not see the danger and can not see how phony these “protesters” are.  Why the heck is this man always referred to as “Far Right?” Even by the Daily Mail.  Finally, I find it insulting that these vermin actually think I might really believe they are merely anti-Fascist, instead of hiding behind a slogan that’s meant to censor any kind of debate.

Far-right Dutch MP Geert Wilders defies protesters to screen anti-Islamic film in House of Lords

Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders accused Islam of being ‘incompatible’ with democracy today after arriving in London to show his anti-Islamic film Fitna at the House of Lords.

The 46-year-old Freedom Party leader’s visit to Britain came after his far-right party scored major gains in Dutch elections. He is now on course to win the most Parliamentary seats in the country’s June 9 election.

If so, it would be impossible for the current coalition government to rule without forging a strong coalition with him.

He could even land the title of prime minister, after a new poll showed that he was fifth on the list of Dutch voters’ preferred candidates.

He said: ‘Islamism and democracy are incompatible.

‘The more Islamism we have, the more freedom we will lose and this is something worth fighting for’.

Mr Wilders called for an end to immigration to Europe from Islamic countries but said Muslims who agreed to obey the law of the land would be welcome to stay.

He said: ‘To Muslims who do stay, I would say “Follow our laws and you are welcome to stay”.’

He also said that, if elected Dutch Prime Minister, he would seek to introduce a ‘first amendment’ guaranteeing freedom of speech.

He said: ‘The right of freedom of speech is especially to listen to someone who is saying something you don’t want to hear.’

Police arrested several protesters from a group who gathered in Millbank to demonstrate against the visit.

Demonstrators chanted ‘Shame on you’ as officers led several members of the crowd into vans.

Yasmin Rassool, from Unite Against Fascism, said she was at the rally to protest against the visit of Mr Wilders and the planned EDL march in his support.

She said: ‘I think the EDL are a racist, homophobic, Nazi party and they shouldn’t be allowed to march in our streets.’

The EDL marchers were penned in by Old Palace Yard, directly opposite Parliament.
Protesters, some of them hiding their faces with scarves, chanted: ‘No surrender to the Taliban’ and ‘Are you watching, Gordon Brown?’.

A Home Office spokesman said: “The Government regrets the decision by Baroness Cox and Lord Pearson to invite Geert Wilders to the House of Lords for a private showing of his film Fitna. However, we currently have no reason to deny Mr Wilders admission to the UK.

‘The Government continues to oppose extremism in all its forms and retains the right to refuse foreign nationals, including European Union citizens, access to the UK if we believe they represent a threat to security or our society.

‘The behaviour of foreign nationals while in the UK will be taken into consideration when considering granting access to the country in the future.’

The visit comes five months after Mr Wilders had to abandon a planned appearance in front of Parliament when the conference was crashed by a group of bearded Islamists.

There are nearly 1million Muslims in the Netherlands.

‘Today Almere and The Hague, tomorrow the whole of the Netherlands. This is our springboard for success in parliamentary elections,’ Mr Wilders said as the returns came in.

‘We’re going to take the Netherlands back from the leftist elite that coddles criminals and supports Islamisation,’ he said.

And, explaining his controversial views last October, Mr Wilders said: ‘I have a problem with the Islamic ideology, the Islamic culture, because I feel that the more Islam that we get in our societies, the less freedom that we get.’

Britain’s Islamic Republic …………….  video worth seeing

Sorry people, all I can give you is the link to the video. Can’t put it to bed here.

It’s a long one and it’s interesting.  This was aired on TV just recently.  So far, I haven’t seen much if any mention in the press and no demonstrations etc.

How much of this is absolutely guaranteed true and no hype?  Don’t know.  According to the comments page an awful lot of muslims are crying foul. Many of them claim to be anti fundamental and anti terror so I guess you’ll have to view and listen for yourself. Must say however that from what we have seen and heard over the last few years, if the extreme ones are actually in the minority, they sure do get the attention and they sure do cause the trouble and we sure could do without em.

Meanwhile, it’s 11:30pm here and I have been on the phone for hours trying to get thru to ATT and the wait times and the menus are nothing short of a nightmare. In fact, I’ve been trying to make contact since last week.  I need a break for tea. Or coffee with something strong in it. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

The first things you notice as you approach Saad al-Faqih’s home are the CCTV signs. There are several of them posted around his London property as a warning to potential intruders that their every move is being monitored by security cameras. And for good reason.

Shortly after my cameraman, Ian, and I arrived at al-Faqih’s residence on a recent Sunday afternoon, he informed us that we had just missed a visit by British authorities. “They were here to warn me about an assassination plot being hatched against me by the Saudis,” he said. My initial reaction to that news was that I would definitely not be sitting near the window during our interview.

But I can’t say I was surprised by al-Faqih’s admission. I had come to London to interview men the U.S. government considers extremely dangerous; Islamist ideologues with intimate knowledge of al Qaeda’s inner workings. And according to intelligence sources, al-Faqih surely fits that bill.

A former medical surgeon, Al-Faqih now makes a living as one of the world’s most vociferous enemies of the Saudi regime. He wants to see the Saudi royal family removed from power (by peaceful means, he says) and replaced with an even more extreme Islamic government than the Saudi Wahhabis currently operate.

The Saudis, naturally, do not like this, and have been pressuring Great Britain for years to deport al-Faqih back to Saudi Arabia to stand trial. But the Brits, as I explained in my recent CBN News report and in an appearance with Sean Hannity on Fox News, refuse to extradite al-Faqih and other wanted Islamic terrorists back to their home countries over human rights concerns.

Basically, they fear the Saudis will torture al-Faqih and the others, most of whom gained asylum in the UK during the 1980s and ‘90s and now walk the streets of London and other cities as free men.

Al-Faqih has built up a dubious reputation during his time in Britain. He was designated by the United States and UN as a global terrorist in 2004for his links to al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. (...)

Danish paper apologises for printing Muhammad cartoon

A Danish newspaper has apologised for any offence caused when it reprinted a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb-shaped turban in 2008.

Politiken said it was apologising as part of a settlement with Muslim groups in the Middle East and Australia.

Other Danish newspapers criticised Politiken for its move.

Twelve cartoons of Muhammad were initially published in 2006, sparking widespread protests by Muslims in various countries.

Politiken - and other papers - republished one in 2008 when police uncovered an alleged plot to kill cartoonist Kurt Westergaard.

Editor-in-chief Toeger Seidenfaden said on Friday: “We apologise to anyone who was offended by our decision to reprint the cartoon drawing.”

He told the Associated Press (AP) news agency that the paper still had the right to publish.
“We have the right to print Kurt Westergaard’s drawings, we have the right to print the original 12 drawings, we have the right to print all the caricatures in the world,” he said.

“We apologise for the offence which the reprint has caused. That is what we apologise for.”

The religion of peace in action under sharia law. This is exactly the sort of thing they want for the world people.  If you do not believe that, you are not living on planet earth.  I think what makes it even worse is are the people vermin who appear to be enjoying this. But then, of course they are.
They’re from Somalia and they’re muslims.  Human and Somali do not belong in the same sentence as we already know from our own experience there.

justified killing of British troops in Iraq, believes al Qaeda is a “myth. not a problem lets talk

Up until a couple of years ago, or was it only last year? I forgot. No matter because the then top dog at the MET, the metropolitan police, was a man who claimed to be quite “proud” of being “politically correct.” When the new consrv. mayor of London took over after ousting a self confessed communist mayor, he threw the bum out. Hmm. Wait. This is England and generally they are somewhat more polite. The new mayor didn’t throw out Sir Ian Blair but he did allow him to quit the post.  That man was probably the very worst thing that has ever happened to the police of this country, and they still have not recovered.
When I took the morning papers off the chair on the front porch, about the first story that caught my eye today was this.

Sir Ian Blair signed a formal agreement with an Islamic extremist to treat him as the Metropolitan Police’s “principal” representative of the Muslim community, it can be disclosed.

The activist, Azad Ali, was accepted by the Met as a trusted interlocutor. The force also agreed to give him information on forthcoming anti-terror raids. – Mr Ali has previously justified the killing of British troops in Iraq, believes al Qaeda is a “myth,” and has praised a key mentor of Osama bin Laden.

Mr Ali signed the deal, a copy of which has been seen by the Daily Telegraph, in his capacity as the then chairman of the Muslim Safety Forum – a body closely linked to the fundamentalist Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE).

The Muslim Safety Forum was set up, in its own words, to challenge the “unfair focus on the Muslim community when it came to policing activities and enforcement of anti- terror policing legislation.”

It was accepted by the police as a legitimate body. The agreement, dated December 2006 and personally signed by Mr Ali and Sir Ian, who was Commissioner of the Met at the time, states: “The Commissioner will recognise the MSF as the principal body in relation to Muslim community safety and security.”

Sir Ian or his deputy committed to meet Mr Ali and the MSF at least twice a year and to hold monthly meetings with the MSF at “New Scotland Yard or other suitable premises.”

The agreement says that the Met and MSF will “use the MSF as a consultation body to help formulate policy or practice.” and “progress an annual plan of work through agreed priority workstreams,” jointly led by Met and MSF representatives.

The Met also agreed to set up a four-strong panel with the MSF to offer the Muslim community a chance to comment on whether the information police had on a suspect was too flimsy and the consequences of a raid for community relations.

Mr Ali, one of the panel members, said at the time: “This will allow independent scrutiny of intelligence.”

Fears of extremist muzzies worming their way into labour party say labour minister.

There really are times when all a person can say is,

“I told ya so.” It was either Lyndon or Chris who once said something like this was happening. Not exact but one of em suggested something very much like.

Frankly, I believe it 100% and find it serious and scary.  Scary coz way too many won’t take it seriously believing, oh. It can’t happen here. Yeah? Wanna bet your life on it?

BTW, the man making the charge is a Labour party minister. You’d expect this to come from the cons, not the left libs in Labour.

Extremist Muslims have ‘wormed their way into Labour Party’ minister warns

A fundamentalist group that wants to turn Britain into an Islamic republic has successfully infiltrated the Labour Party, a minister said yesterday.

Jim Fitzpatrick named the Islamic Forum of Europe as a group trying to win power by secretly taking control of local Labour organisations.

The environment minister accused the group of ‘corrupting our politics’.

His charge revives the threat of extremists entering the Labour Party for the first time since the collapse of the Trotskyist Militant organisation at the end of the 1980s.

The Islamic Forum of Europe is a low-profile grouping based at the East London Mosque.

Channel 4’s Dispatches programme claims the IFE has won a large measure of control over the London borough of Tower Hamlets and has packed Labour membership rolls in East London with its own supporters.

Leaders of the group are said to oppose democracy and support the introduction of Islamic sharia law, while trying to impose hardline views on local communities.

It is also said to have pocketed £10million from the taxpayer by attracting state grants designed to ‘prevent violent extremism’.

The MP for Poplar and Canning Town said: ‘They are acting almost as an entryist organisation, placing people within the political parties, trying to get individuals selected and elected so they can exercise political influence and power.’

Gaddafi calls for jihad against Switzerland. The idiot is very serious. Lets hope it comes to naught

This is not exactly how I planned to start the day of posts but, events or in this case that and articles like this one decide for me.

My guess is you may have already heard this on your nightly news. ? 

While I think we all agree and hope it comes to nothing, nothing is certain about ‘those people’ except that they will embrace any excuse to the west harm.

This guy truly is a number one grade ‘A’ wack job of the first order.  He and his chest full of funny looking medals. Phony looking more like.
The guy has no class, he is beneath contempt and I can’t find the words I need to describe the rest.  He’s also very cunning but still manages to be a total jerk.

World powers react with outrage? Uh huh. And what else?  Rhetoric. That’s the ticket. Words and all empty like the threats to do what exactly? Yeah. Like words won the last major war in the 40s.

World powers have reacted with outrage to a call by Colonel Gaddafi of Libya for holy war on the “obscene, infidel” state of Switzerland.

Col Gaddafi took a long-running and personal feud with the historically neutral European country to new heights with a speech in which he attacked the ban on new minarets on mosques approved by a Swiss referendum last year.

“Those who destroy God’s mosques deserve to be attacked through jihad, and if Switzerland was on our borders, we would fight it,” he said. “Jihad against Switzerland, against Zionism, against foreign aggression is not terrorism.”

He called for a boycott of Switzerland by the Islamic world. “Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate, is against Mohammad, God and the Koran,” he said.

“The masses of Muslims must go to all airports in the Islamic world and prevent any Swiss plane landing, to all harbours and prevent any Swiss ships docking, inspect all shops and markets to stop any Swiss goods being sold.”

Just shows he’s only looking for an excuse to attack the Swiss someway, somehow.  If he’s really any kinda serious and honest muslim which I doubt, he’d know those minarets are not a religious icon and aren’t even in his koran, according to islamic specialists. Another case of another muddled , mudhead looking for trouble.

Video: Allah, the Netherlands, and the House of Orange

First of all ...

I meant to post this yesterday, too much going on but better late then never.

This is a very short video, the speaker (Dutch) is very emotional and VERY angry.  He’s had enough of immigration and his country sucking up to muslims.

The screen crawl at the very start is too fast but of special interest is the one at the very end.  Some of you who have followed this from the past will be familiar with his name.

A video about how the Dutch Government betrayed the people of the Netherlands, and destroyed the separation of church and state. Pim Fortuyn expresses his frustration about how political correctness is destroying Holland with Islam. Very good little video.
