eye candy

Her name is BLAKE LIVELY, and I haven’t a clue. I happened to see her photo and thought she looked pretty good.
But when I looked her up I discovered she looked lots better as a blond. With all due respect to what dreams are made of. sigh.

I’m not sure why, but somehow she makes me think of Michelle Trachtenburg. Yeah, like that’s a bad thing.

older but still a ‘babe’ …. nina carter

I guess this could be considered eye candy although I picked up on it more as a human interest thing.
Not that eye candy doesn’t qualify as human interest.  Anyway, I saw this and thought, why not?
The lady is now 59 and oh boy she still looks darn good to me.  But then of course, I’m past the 70 mark.

Take a peek.

Still a pin-up after four decades, 59-year-old former Page 3 girl Nina Carter

By SIMON CABLE

The pose is a little less racy than her fans might remember.

But given that almost 40 years have passed since her 1970s’ heyday, Nina Carter’s striking looks have remained remarkably unchanged.

The 59-year-old became one of the world’s most successful glamour models after she found fame as a Page 3 girl.

imageimage

She insists her still-youthful appearance is down to healthy eating and exercise – and has always said she has never succumbed to surgery.

But that might not always be the case, admitted Miss Carter, who married plastic surgeon Douglas Harrison last year.

I have changed my view, because before I knew Douglas I was very anti any kind of surgery,’ she said.

‘But when I see the effect it has on people, especially those who have severe abnormalities, their lives are completely changed.

‘People come from all over the world and have all sorts of reasons for having plastic surgery. In that sense, it is a wonderful thing.

‘I feel that if you have bags under your eyes and it makes you feel better, then I cannot see any reason not to go ahead with it,’ added Miss Carter, who was married to Yes keyboard player Rick Wakeman for 20 years.

‘I would most definitely consider it in future. I’m never going to be a plastic surgery nut, but if I needed to have something done, then yes, I would do it,’ said the model, who now works as a life coach.

Life coach? Is that some kind of new age thing?

eye candy

I decided not to go with the usual kind of eye candy cos someone caught my eye in the morning paper. Not even a large article, just a very small snapshot and a caption about the start of some kind of art festival. But apparently she’s well known in Burlesque (as Kitten von Mews), which I didn’t even know was still being performed. ???

Before I get to her though, there was one other interesting photo of an actress I never heard of before which isn’t surprising as it’s been years since I was familiar with anyone in film.  But she caught my eye mostly because she has an unpronounceable name.  Try this on for size.

But my feature bit of candy today is .....

Kitten Von Mew poses for a photograph next to a vintage RAF bike during Goodwood Revival 2010 at Goodwood on September 17, 2010 in Chichester, England. The event is based around a classic car race meeting and airshow but celebrates all things 1945 until 1966.

a pure form of eye candy that makes one feel good

I saw these, 2 of 5 photos, of Tina O’Brien and her baby daughter.  I guess she’s still a baby. Right? Well anyway, I was just taken with the innocence of the shots and how nice mom and daughter looked.  Especially cute was the little girl handing mommy a flower.

So no rant, no gripe and no cheesecake.  Just a couple of nice photos that make a person feel like maybe there’s hope yet. Who knows.

Enjoy and the link has a few more.

more of mommy and daughter

I just had a thought. This might be the best eye candy I’ve ever posted here.

eye candy

Hey, I heard that.  Quit ur moaning. That was serious eye candy back in ‘91. OK, so it was 1891. Was still eye candy and besides, that’s Lilly Langtree. So there.

Jeesh ... some folks never happy. Alright. Here.  Happy now?

Wasn’t even looking for this but I was impressed when I ran across it.  I think the glamor photography of that day had more class then today.

It’s a brown out!

Above: actress Daveigh Chase
Below: actress Melinda Clarke

Fans of The OC will recognize Melinda Clarke, who played Jamie Cooper on that show for years. Folks who live under a rock, like me, will recognize her as the hypnotically beguiling Lady Heather from a few episodes of CSI. There’s something about her face that says Russian to me, but she’s 100% American.

Daveigh Chase was in the film Donnie Darko and currently appears in the TV series Big Love. Which I have never seen, even though it features one of my favorite brunette actresses, Jeanne Tripplehorne.

I’d be getting slapped all the time

Two little Dr. Who video shorts put together for Red Nose Day 2011, one of those Comic Relief efforts.

Very cute, and slightly naughty, and a bit of a cheat but just for laughs. What happens if the Tardis materializes inside the Tardis? Rory gets slapped, that’s what. Because he knows how to make lemonade when life hands you lemons. Oh hell yeah!!! LOL

New Dr. Who episode coming April 24 ... no telling when it will be shown in the USA.

some unintended eye candy

I had no intention of doing another eye candy thing so soon after my last. Which was only yesterday.

BUT ...

Rich distracted me with a link and you know ... one leads to another so in spite of having other things to do ..... like dinner .... well that’s on hold for a few minutes.

eye candy

Speaking of HUGE sums of money .....

The eyes have it.

image

I couldn’t resist doing it this way.  This young woman is made of money. Lots of it.  Which should not be held against her.

image
Theres a million bucks worth of earrings there.

image

image

She has a very English name for a girl with an Egyptian father ....

She’s CAMILLA Al-FAYED ....

Her daddy is that loony tune billionaire, Mohammed Al-Fayed, who I posted about yesterday. The loon who erected a statue of Waco-Jacko at his football stadium.
But hey, not her fault. She’s beautiful.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
