Britain’s best female diver for more than 20 years, and eye candy too.

Tech question.

Is Fiber Optic meant only for fast uploads and downloads when used in computers?  ?  I know what it is, but don’t really see any more speed with page openings then I had before.  Cos there sure isn’t a huge difference on those. My downloads were always fast anyway. Never had a problem there.  But I can see a vast difference when uploading photos and other files.

Sean Penn still in the news btw.  Yeah. Fancies himself a real force in the political world I guess.  Going hither and yon dispensing advice on how countries should behave if only they’d listen to him.  Wonder how soon he’ll get around to demanding that the USA give the Southwest and west back to Mexico.
Oh right.  Been away so long I forgot.  SE HABLA ESPAÑOL?

Alright, the purpose of this post is a young lady, pictured , who will be on the UK’s Olympic diving team and I was taken with her photo I saw in the paper last week.  I thought to myself, self .... look at this. Real honest to gosh eye candy that is natural.  No overdone make up, no exaggerated boobs, not a movie star or a model with ppl trailing her making sure every hair is in place.  Just plain darn pretty.  And athletic. So I thought I’d post her as human interest and eye candy.
I’ve read only a little about her lately, and she just seems like a nice person and not much taken with herself. Kinda nice if I have that right.  Sure might make a change from all the self important celebs we hear about.

Duty calls: diver’s soldier boyfriend will miss medal bid

Team GB diver Tonia Couch today revealed that her Royal Marine boyfriend is serving in Afghanistan so he cannot be poolside to cheer her on as she goes for gold in London.

Karl Thurgood, 23, on his third tour of the war-torn country, hopes to be back for part of the Games but has no tickets because he is not sure of the date of his return from Lashkar Gar.

Couch, also 23, turned in the best performance by a British woman diver in 20 years at the World Championships in 2009, when she came eighth in the individual event.

At the Beijing Games the year before, she finished eighth in the 10-metre individual and synchronised events.

She and synchronised diving partner Sarah Barrow, now training in Southend with the rest of the team, narrowly missed out on bronze at the World Championships in July.

Couch, who met her boyfriend in her home town of Plymouth when they were 16, said: “I worry about him and miss him but he’s very supportive of my sport.”

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot.
