This Place Is A Mess!

The downside to getting over being sick is that at some point you start to notice your surroundings again. The house looks like a bomb hit it. Piles of dirty laundry, overflowing dishpan, bulging garbage bags, and a mountain of mail on the table. Plus dishes all over the place from eating in front of the PC and TV.

I’m not going to go crazy at it, but I am going to have to spend some time today and do some housework. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to bring some fresh air in here either, even though it’s kind of chilly today.

So have a happy and safe Thanksgiving if I don’t find time to put up a T-day post between now and then.

Still with the cough cough cough dammit. But it’s better. Before I was coughing so darn hard my ribs were sore and I was at the point of blacking out. So some nagging post nasal drip and chest congestion is a relatively great improvement.

law and disorder and student protests make their point by attacking police and causing damage

The video below is from a week ago. There are more protests in other cities today. Students?  Well, not exactly all. But, there were some very good photos of a few in the hardcopy editions. Interesting. One of the so called students is the head of a student union and she’s a 37 year old marxist.
Another interesting thing .... some of the students aren’t even Brits .... and an awful lot of the ppl causing damage and committing assault, are kids from middle class families, many who live in expensive homes, the offspring of parents who are very far from being poor.

What this is all about is the increase in college tuitions. A very, very large increase. I think it’s going from £3,000 to £9,000. I’m certain about the 9.
That is a large increase all at once.  However .... the govt. is allowing an increase in the amount earned by students after graduating, before any loans must be paid back.  Example ....

Under the old system, they would start paying back once they earned £15,000 a year.  Now ... that figure has been increased to £21,000.  So no paybacks until they start earning £21,000.  And they have 30 years as I understand it.

Some of the young involved in these “protests” are as young as 13 or 14.  Seems to me they’re being a bit premature.  While it’s true not all are violent, the ones who are, are not really concerned with fairness and cost.  They are mostly left led and out for fun. Fun means attacking cops who unfortunately are not allowed to shoot the bastards dead. Fun means damaging property and setting fires.

One of last weeks agitators is actually a youngish lecturer at a college, who said the violent ones were brilliant and publicly encourages more of the same.

(note to Drew. heads up for mail on that sent today via snail)

This we have rights thing has been carried to such extremes, that it seems protests which may be honest at the start are ALWAYS, always taken over by the fringe group of pleasure seeking criminals with no jobs anyway, and are led happily and with great enthusiasm by the far left.
If there really were any justice, or anyone with the real desire to right things, these folks would be made an example of. But no luck there so look for more of the same in the future.

Almost forgot to mention it and just reminded by wife.  Just to make things even worse .....

Police officer ‘has his arm broken’ and another is knocked out as latest tuition fees protest turns ugly in Whitehall

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 3:44 PM on 24th November 2010

* Demonstrators smash into police van and steal uniforms
* Two officers injured as they clash with protesters
* Territorial Support Group rushed in to bolster police lines

* More protests in Cambridge, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow

Police officers appeared to be seriously injured today as angry demonstrators protesting against the hike in tuition fees again brought chaos to the streets.

Around 10,000 students and protesters flooded London for a new demonstration just a fortnight after anarchists unleashed mayhem at the Tory Party headquarters.

Scotland Yard, determined not to be caught on the hop a second time, ensured hundreds of officers were on duty and quickly reinforced numbers as flashpoints developed.

Two officers so far have been taken to hospital, one with a broken arm and another with a leg injury. Shocking footage outside the Foreign Office showed another being dragged to safety, apparently knocked out cold.

Huge crowds had attempted to break the security cordon outside the building but the line of police was quickly bolstered to ensure the barricades were not breached, unlike a fortnight ago.

The Territorial Support Group, who are more highly-training in public order containment, were then rushed in after protesters tried to batter their way to Downing Street using a barrier.

Many are also protesting because they want FREE tuition.  See photos at the link and more story.

another critic of the rop on trial in austria for hate speech ….

This is one of the seriously most interesting articles I have run across lately.  I’m feeling a bit guilty on my timing as it should have been posted much earlier. I won’t go into silly details as to why it wasn’t.  Reason being, I dropped the ball on this one and can’t find a good excuse to palm off. So better to just say, read as much as you’ve patience for.

A word about one of the links I have here. English save free speech .org.  I have had no problems with it personally. I believe it to be a safe site.  However, for some reason the Zone alarm site check I have installed on my tool bar, which came with the recent ZA update, flashes a yellow ribbon at the top of the screen saying it’s a questionable site.  It isn’t to my knowledge. And only ZA is giving that warning. I feel I have to state that in case some may prefer not to visit the site. I have, and experienced no ill affects.

There’ll a bit of reading involved but I think it will hook ya. Have a drink and a snack handy. That’s just for ppl like me who are not very fast readers.

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff Versus the State of Denial

Dianawest.net

By Diana West

This week’s syndicated column is about Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff , who goes to trial for “hate speech”—i.e., speaking out against Islamization—on November 23 in Vienna. Her website, including defense fund information, is HERE.

image

When Barack Obama spoke in Mumbai about “the different meanings” of jihad, he set up us up again for the Big Lie: “I think,” the 44th president said, sounding much like the 43rd president, “all of us recognize that this great religion in the hands of a few extremists has been distorted to justify violence toward innocent people that is never justified.”

All—all—of the sacred books and schools of Islam say differently. Every, single one. The fact is—not the fantasy—there is no distortion of Islamic texts required to justify the violence of jihad from Mumbai to Tel Aviv to New York City to Bali to Madrid and beyond.

But we, dhimmi-citizens of an Islamizing world, are not supposed to notice the links between the violence and the faith, the faith and the law, the law and the violence—and certainly not say so out loud. Most people don’t. Increasingly, this state of denial is enforced by actual states of denial - the most recent example being Austria, which, in a trial on Nov. 23, will attempt to use “hate speech” laws to send Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff to prison for as long as three years for statements about Islam very similar to those I’ve just written.

The Viennese mother and housewife originally approached the subject of Islam from her unique background that includes a childhood stint in Iran during the Islamic Revolution in 1979 when her diplomat-father was stationed there; and her own work experience with Austrian embassies in both Kuwait at the time of the Iraqi invasion in 1990, and Libya, on 9/11 ("The Jews did it!” Elisabeth’s Libyan landlord shouted at her that same day).

She studied the Islamic texts and commentaries, the apologetics and the critiques. Empowered by her natural right to free speech, she decided to educate others in her native Austria about the Koran, about Islamic law (Shariah), in seminars she offered under the auspices of the pro-Western-civilization think tank Wiener Akademikerbund (Association of Vienna Academics). Contracted by the anti-Islamization Freedom Party (FPO) in 2008, Sabaditsch-Wolff has been educating Austrians about Islam ever since.

“The groups were very small at first, sometimes as few as five or six people” she recently told me. “Later on, the numbers rose to 35.” Last fall, one attendee in particular seemed “overly enthusiastic about the topic,” Elisabeth recalls. She turned out to be a journalist who would brand the seminar a “hate school” in a sensational story for NEWS, a left-wing publication.
“It caused a huge uproar among the establishment,” Elisabeth says, although now that her trial approaches Austrian media are silent.

“Bishops, rabbis, politicians, all of whom had never attended any of my seminars and knew nothing of the content, were asked to weigh in and condemn me. The bishop said, `One must never speak about any religion the way Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff did about Islam.’ This was especially painful for me.”

Elisabeth’s husband, a military surgeon, is very supportive of her. “My mother had to come to terms with her daughter being maligned in the media,” she says.

“My sister has cocooned herself and believes the NEWS story rather than confronting reality. My father, who has attended all of my seminars, knows the truth and supports me 100 percent.”

Of course, when she enters that Vienna courtroom, she will face the state alone. “The thought that the state—a state that I love very much and that I represented proudly all my life—is prosecuting me for thoughts is a painful one. It is hard to understand that I should have to stand trial for thoughts that are not only based on experience but are the product of careful study of the texts that make up Islam.”
But Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff is also standing trial for her courage ...............

how about an anti-west week at a university? in the cards?  already here.

Why oh why oh why are there idiot Jews like this Finkelstinker kike running around free?  Yeah, yeah I understand about freedom of speech. OK, I suppose that includes the right to be a traitorous scum bag idiot.  But does it have to be a Jew also?  Or least one in name. Why can’t he change his name to Abdolah Jones or Machmood Smith so nobody will know he’s a Jew. What a total embarrassment he is. Non Jews look at fool like this and too many will say, and I know they will. Well, what do you expect from a Jew?  From Jews like this one in particular, I’d have to say exactly what he’s doing. He plays right into the stereotype.
There were a number of Nazi supporting Jews in Germany in the 30s, who also ended up dead. What a surprise.

Where’s the Mossad damn it?

UK university hosts ‘anti-West’ week under ‘justice’ guise

Jerusalem Post
By JONNY PAUL

Organized by Islamic Society at Imperial College London, “Justice Week” described as forum “to highlight Islamic perspective of injustices.”
Talkbacks (4)

LONDON – One of the world’s most prestigious science- based universities is this week hosting an anti-West week accused of peddling “jihadist propaganda” in which controversial American anti-Israel activist and author Norman Finkelstein will appear, alongside Islamists accused of influencing perpetrators of terrorist acts.

Organized by the Islamic Society at Imperial College London, “Justice Week” is described as an “exciting new project…to educate ourselves about some of the injustices found in the world” and a forum “to highlight the Islamic perspective of injustices at home and abroad.”

The event is being publicized through the Islamic Society and the Imperial College Union websites, and on Facebook.

On Thursday, Finkelstein, a Hamas and Hizbullah supporter, will give two talks – one titled “Truth of the Gaza Invasion,” the other “Consequences of the Gaza Invasion” – to promote his new book on the subject.

Wednesday sees a screening of Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story, followed by commentary from former pan-Islamic group Hizb-ut- Tahrir [liberation party] chairman Jamal Harwood.

Currently subject to a “no platform policy” by the National Union of Students (NUS), which blocks it from participating in any NUS event or standing in an NUS election, Hizb-ut-Tahrir is set to be banned by the British government. The group aims to unify Muslim countries as an Islamic caliphate ruled by Islamic law and has been accused of terrorist links.

The week will also include an event with Asim Qureshi, who will discuss “injustices in recent wars and policies,” particularly the case of Aafia Siddique, jailed earlier this year by a US court for 86 years for the attempted murder of American personnel in Afghanistan.

Qureshi represents “Cage Prisoners,” a London-based group set up to raise awareness of “the plight of the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and other detainees held as part of the War on Terror.”

According to reports, the group campaigns on behalf of Muslim prisoners, including convicted terrorists. It has been accused by commentators in the counter-radicalization field of having links to Anwar al-Awlaki – the radical Yemeni cleric accused of influencing the Christmas Day bomber and former University College London student Umar Farouk Abdulmuttalab.

Campus counter-radicalization campaign group Student Rights has questioned why an event “dedicated to jihadist propaganda” is being allowed to take place on a university campus.

“Justice Week appears to be dedicated to jihadist propaganda on taxpayer-funded university campuses,” said Matthew Walker from Student Rights. “The presence of those who have previously been banned and endorsed the likes of Anwar al-Awlaki proves that despite recent publicity regarding radicalization on campuses – these events are still being approved by university authorities.”

The director of the Londonbased think tank Center for Social Cohesion, Douglas Murray, said the week is more about injustice and hate.

“This is not a week that has anything to do with justice,” Murray said. “It is only to do with injustice and hate.

One Less Methbilly Dirtbag

Hey McGoo - what was I saying the other day over at Mitchell’s about making sure the house gun fits the lady of the house? Case in point.

Dead_Goblin_Count +=1;

Woman killed man who shot her husband during Knoxville home invasion

KNOXVILLE - A woman shot and killed a man during a South Knoxville home invasion robbery after the intruder had struggled with and shot her husband, authorities said this morning.
A second interloper escaped, apparently uninjured, and was being sought by police.
...
When officers arrived they found Joshua Dexter Watson, 24, of Knoxville dead from multiple wounds administered by a .357-caliber revolver belonging to the homeowners, DeBusk said.

The wounded husband, Jonathan Franklin, age unavailable, was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with what police termed non-life-threatening injuries.

DeBusk said two suspects knocked on the door of the home and “then kicked in the door.”

The two intruders struggled with Franklin and one of the suspects shot him.

“During the fight the suspects were demanding at first drugs and then money from the victims,” DeBusk said.

After Franklin was shot, Jamie Franklin, 21, grabbed the household .357 revolver and “fired several rounds striking one suspect more than once in the upper body,” DeBusk said.

Watson has a criminal history that began even before his 18th birthday, records show. He was facing a charge of aggravated robbery in 2004 before he turned 18.

After that, Watson racked up dozens of charges, including drug possession, theft, evading arrest, reckless driving and violation of probation for the aggravated robbery conviction, records show.

No charges have been files against Mrs. Franklin, and as my non-yankee friends tell me, the cops have most likely returned her gun already. Too bad she didn’t at least wing the other perp.

And that’s how these things are done on this side of the pond. Hey Brits - notice how the felon was not given a free flat to live in, free medical care, free counseling, 3 rounds of Kumbayah, and a free lawyer to sue the homeowner with. The only thing he gets for free is a few shovels full of dirt and a cardboard box in Potter’s Field. Because she didn’t miss. Several times she didn’t miss. No word on whether the ammunition was .38s or .357s. They are both the same “caliber”.

South Korea May Seek Deployment Of US Tactical Nuclear Weapons .

They gotta be kidding. Don’t ya think?

I don’t see that happening although, not too sure I’d bet the house on it. This is after all, a topsy-turvy world.

South Korea’s defense minister says his country may consider having U.S. tactical nuclear weapons deployed on its soil for the first time in 19 years.
Defense Minister Kim Tae-young raised the possibility Monday during talks with a parliamentary committee about North Korea’s latest nuclear escalation.  He said the issue could be raised when a joint U.S.-South Korean military committee meets next month to discuss North Korea’s nuclear programs.

The United States removed its last tactical nuclear weapons from South Korea in December of 1991.  A Defense Ministry spokesman told VOA that until now, the country had not considered having them reintroduced.

The Associated Press quoted a ministry spokesman saying the effect of the weapons would be mainly psychological since South Korea is already protected by the American nuclear umbrella.

The Seoul government was prompted to consider the step by reports that North Korea has a sophisticated uranium enrichment program and claims to have 2,000 working centrifuges.  A U.S. scientist who visited the facility said it appears to be designed to produce fuel for electricity-making reactors but could be adapted to make fuel for nuclear weapons.

Another Round of Stupid with the NorKs

Incoming!

North Korea Shells S.K. Island

Artillery bombardment leaves several dead, many buildings destroyed

image

These people are nuts. Conflicting reports from around the world say somewhere between dozens and hundreds of shells rained down on South Korea’s Yeonpyeong Island. Civilians either evacuated or rushed to get into bomb shelters. Several - at least 2 so far - didn’t make it and were killed in the barrage.

News video here.

This is the largest land based escalation between the two nations in nearly 60 years.

North Korea fired dozens of artillery shells onto a South Korean island on Tuesday, killing one person, setting homes ablaze and triggering an exchange of fire as the South’s military went on top alert. In what appeared to be one of the most serious border incidents since the 1950-53 war, South Korean troops fired back with cannon, the government convened in an underground war room and “multiple” air force jets scrambled.

The firing came after North Korea’s disclosure of an apparently operational uranium enrichment programme—a second potential way of building a nuclear bomb—which is causing serious alarm for the United States and its allies. Some 50 shells landed on the South Korean border island of Yeonpyeong near the tense Yellow Sea border, damaging dozens of houses and sending plumes of thick smoke into the air, YTN television reported.

One South Korean marine—part of a contingent based permanently on the frontline island—was killed and 13 other marines were wounded, the military said. YTN said two civilians were also hurt.
“A Class-A military alert issued for battle situations was imposed immediately after shelling began,” a military spokesman said. Sporadic firing by each side continued for over an hour before dying out, the military said.

The shelling began at 2:34 pm (0534 GMT) after the North sent several messages protesting about South Korean naval, air force and army training exercises being staged close to the border, a presidential spokesman said.

North Korea has warned it will continue to launch attacks if the South violates its disputed sea border and blamed Seoul for starting major clashes that killed two soldiers.  South Korea said around 200 North Korean artillery shells hit one of its islands, prompting Seoul to return fire. But the communist state claimed its arch-rival fired first, after the North warned Seoul to halt military drills in the area. Two South Korean marines were killed and 16 other soldiers hurt, some seriously, after the shelling on the island of Yeonpyeong. Around 70 houses were also ablaze.

It was one of the heaviest bombardments on the South since the Korean War ended with a truce in 1953. This means the countries are still technically at war. North Korea has now threatened to continue launching strikes if its neighbour violates their western sea border “even 0.001 millimetre”. [ more video at this link.

South Korea Vows ‘Enormous Retaliation’ After North’s Deadly Island Bombardment

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, who convened an emergency security meeting shortly after the initial bombardment, said that an “indiscriminate attack on civilians can never be tolerated.”

“Enormous retaliation should be made to the extent that (North Korea) cannot make provocations again,” he said.
The United Nations Security Council could hold an emergency meeting in the next day or two over the attack, saying “It’s in the works for either today or tomorrow. We are for it and planning is ongoing,” Reuters reports.

The United States, which has tens of thousands of troops stationed in South Korea, condemned the attack and called on North Korea to “halt its belligerent action,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said in Washington. He said the United States is “firmly committed” to South Korea’s defense, and to the “maintenance of regional peace and stability.”

The North’s artillery struck the small South Korean-held island of Yeonpyeong, which houses military installations and a small civilian population and which has been the focus of two previous deadly battles between the Koreas.

Fat lot of good that will do. By the time the UN schedules and actually holds a meeting, both countries could be piles of glowing glass.

The countries’ western maritime boundary has long been a flash point between the two Koreas. The North does not recognize the border that was unilaterally drawn by the United Nations at the close of the 1950-53 Korean War.

North and South Korea have fought three bloody skirmishes near the maritime border in recent years, most recently in November 2009. That battle left one North Korean officer dead and three others wounded, according to South Korean officials.

Two deadly clashes have previously erupted around Yeonpyeong. In a gunbattle in June 2002, one South Korean warship sank, killing six sailors. The North said it also suffered casualties, but didn’t confirm how many. In a 1999 clash, South Korea said several sailors were wounded, and that up to 30 North Koreans died.

In a sign of North Korea’s anger over the South Korean drills, North Korea’s state news agency said in a dispatch Monday that South Korea was readying war games with the United States for aggressive purposes against North Korea. The dispatch quoted what it said were sympathetic Swiss groups that called the drills “a criminal act of aggression for provoking another Korean war.”

The existence of North Korea’s new uranium enrichment facility came to light over the weekend after Pyongyang showed it to a visiting American nuclear scientist, claiming that the highly sophisticated operation had 2,000 completed centrifuges. Top U.S. military officials warn that it could speed the North’s ability to make and deliver viable nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, one North Korean expert believes Tuesday’s attack was nothing more than a calling card for its 26-year-old dictator in waiting.

North Korean expert Zhang Liangui told the Sydney Morning Herald that the attack was a deliberate act of brinksmanship to rally the military behind Kim Jong-il’s anointed successor, Kim Jong-un.

Let’s not forget that the NorKs sunk that SK destroyer in the spring, killing dozens of sailors. That was also in the western ocean border area.

So here is the real, and only question: Is this act of war a sufficient act of war to restart a war that has been slowly bubbling away for the past 6 decades? In all that time the two sides haven’t been able to find more than an iota of peace.

“The provocation this time can be regarded as an invasion of South Korean territory,” President Lee Myung-bak said at the headquarters of the Joint Chiefs of Staff here, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.

“Given that North Korea maintains an offensive posture, I think the army, the navy and the air force should unite and retaliate against [the North’s] provocation with multiple-fold firepower.”

The incident “the first direct artillery attack on South Korean territory since the Korean War ended in an armistice, not a formal peace treaty” in the 1950s, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported.

It has prompted great concern across South Korea and in the United States, which has 28,500 troops deployed in South Korea. [ video at this link too ]

And now the NorKs are showing off their new nuclear enrichment facility? Horry clap. These people are rabidly insane.

gypsy lived the life of riley at the expense of Brit taxpayer.  ho-hum. business as usual

I think I post too many stories on these folks. I really do. So why do I continue?  Cos it’s a blog site and rants, gripes, complaints and almost anything else that grabs my attention is up for blogging.  Also ... it’s so damn close to home considering I live here.

Truth to tell though, I am tired of the subject but darn if it doesn’t keep coming up and it does have it’s impact.  Be thankful you folks back home don’t have to put up with this.
In terms of large sums of money I guess this is bad enough. But we’ve read worse where the frauds have not reached this high. But this makes the second time in about six or seven months that one of “these” people have been found out screwing the system in this way.  Hey, if the powers that be are going to make it easy for these folks to do this sort of thing, it can only get worse. And now that they have been declared a ‘race’ well, one must be careful before bringing charges.  Have to be very careful about hurting anyone’s feelings don’t ya know.

The Romanian gypsy who lived luxury lifestyle with £113,000 benefits stolen from British taxpayers

By Nick Fagge

A ‘shameless’ Romanian gipsy who stole at least £113,000 in benefits to fund a life of luxury has been jailed for three years.

image

Illie Schian, 47, bought sports cars, motorcycles, quad bikes and electrical goods with money he received from British hand-outs.

Using taxpayers’ cash, he even built his family a nine-bedroom mansion in Romania, complete with marbled floors, a spa bath, servants’ quarters and two kitchens filled with modern appliances.

He is also accused of involvement in a people-smuggling ring that sent around 180 children to Britain to beg and steal.

The fraudster amassed a £20,000 nest egg in a Romanian bank account before he was finally caught by police.

Schian, from Enfield, North London, applied for political asylum under an assumed name when he arrived in the UK 11 years ago, claiming he had been persecuted in Romania because he is a gipsy.

He was granted indefinite leave to remain in the country, but he proceeded to fleece British taxpayers out of tens of thousands in job seekers’ allowance, child benefit and housing benefit before he was arrested in July this year.

The Romanian was jailed for three years after he admitted a string of fraud charges at Southwark Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Justice James Wadsworth QC said: ‘You did your utmost to defraud the public.

He was granted indefinite leave to remain in March 2004 and his family came to Britain to join him. But shortly afterwards he was jailed for 15 months for theft.

On his release from prison, he disappeared and began to commit benefit fraud using his false identity.Through this he netted a total of £113,889 in just three-and-a-half years.

He was arrested four months ago following a long-running investigation into the organised crime gang he was part of.

Prosecutor Martin Whitehouse told the court: ‘The defendant came to the country intending to defraud the benefits system and, as soon as he could, he did just that.

Some impressive pix at the link.  Unless they bring back hanging for theft, this fellow and other like him will not be impressed by the jails here. They are a race of professional liars and thieves except for the odd one off who isn’t and even they might be suspect. Possible exception might, I say might, have been Django” Reinhardt.

a military spouse sounds off in a long blog and takes no prisoners .. worth the time to read her.

Rich K posted a link under comments on another posting.

It is a very, very, very long read. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t interesting or worth reading. It was both.
You can tell the lady who wrote this (only a tiny fraction of a fraction here) was pretty well PO’d and ready to take on all comers. Funny thing about so many women when angry and writing stuff like this, they generally don’t use the kind of bad language guys do.  How do ladies do that?  I mean, I know you can cuss at someone in an argument face to face when you’re really angry.  But your writing manages to get its point across minus guy talk.  I guess cussin is our steam vent.
None of the above is in any way proven or scientific of course. Just my perhaps lopsided observation. Anyway ...

H/T Rich K

A military spouse and mom of 4, socially active and passionate about returning public debate to an era of civility and respect. I have zero tolerance for the current trend towards ad hominem attacks and the tendency to shoot the messenger to suppress the message.

My Rebuttal to a Progressive who Admonished Me to Play Nice ....
The following rebuttal is mine alone. I do not speak for my husband, for my friends, for my children, but solely for myself.

I am tired of being told to sit down and shut up.

I am tired of being told what I can and can not say.

What is “acceptable”, while my ideas and values are mocked and trampled.

I turned the other cheek when your liberal propaganda outfits refused to report on the humanitarian success stories in Iraq and Afghanistan, but delighted in the roll call of the lost as a way to bludgeon and demoralize our military.

I stopped listening to CNN and MSNBC when they openly reported lies about Marines in OIF – I know-- my husband was one of them.

I began paying attention to FOX news when only they – Oliver North, Bill Hemmer and like-minded conservatives like G. Gordon Liddy, had the courage to travel into the most dangerous parts of the battlespace to actually report on the successes of the surge, rather than filing reports that affirmed the narrative of the LSM from behind the Jersey barriers of the Green Zone.

Enough. I have had enough.

Now then ... when this lady says she’s had enough, that is not to be taken as a figure of speech.

Read all of it right HERE

Why Did This Take 4 Months?

US: It really was Al Q terrorists who attacked tanker ...

back in July

Gee, thanks for telling us what we all figured out that very same day.

The United States has issued a new warning to ships passing through critical shipping lanes in the Middle East and along the African coast after confirming a terror attack took place there this year.

The Abdullah Azzam Brigades, a group based in southern Lebanon that is linked to al Qaeda, claimed in August that a suicide bomber had attacked the Japanese tanker the M. Star on July 28.

The United States has now determined that the claim is valid, according to a statement from the U.S. Maritime Administration.

It warned ships that the group “can conduct further attacks on vessels in areas of/in the Strait of Hormuz, southern Arabian Gulf and western Gulf of Oman.”

The explosion on the [ VLCC ] M. Star injured one crew member but did not cause a spill or halt shipping traffic.

BACKGROUND:

-- The group is named after Palestinian Abdullah Azzam, who led Islamic militants in Afghanistan and was killed in 1989 by a roadside bomb. Azzam is regarded as the one-time spiritual mentor of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.

-- The Brigades have generally operated from the Sinai Peninsula, and have carried out attacks primarily on targets in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. The latest claim could suggest they also have ties with the Yemen-based wing of al Qaeda.

Back then it was a different story:

A Japanese shipping line raised alarm Wednesday that one of its supertankers was damaged by an explosion in a possible attack in the Persian Gulf, but authorities on both sides of the tense waterway denied that any strike occurred.

Details of what happened as the hulking M. Star tanker steered its way through the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz remain murky. The U.S. Navy fleet that patrols the region acknowledged reports of an explosion aboard the ship but said the cause of the blast is unclear.

Local officials cited natural causes, such as an unusually strong wave that slammed into the side of the ship.

image

Damage caused by “rogue wave” also left behind traces of explosives. But it’s not terrorism!!!!

Here’s a funny thing: the Japanese knew within a week that it had been a suicide bombing, similar to the one that damaged the USS Cole back in 2000. And it takes the US government until Thanksgiving to agree? WTFF?

Experts investigating damage to a Japanese supertanker that was shaken by an apparent explosion near the Gulf last month believe the ship was the target of a terrorist attack.

Inspectors at the port of Fujairah, in the United Arab Emirates, found traces of explosives on the oil tanker, the official UAE news agency said today.

The explosion occurred just after midnight on 28 July as the vessel, the M Star, headed through the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway acting as a gateway to the oil-rich Gulf, separating part of Oman from Iran to the north.

The explosion left a large dent in the hull of the 260,000-ton vessel and damaged corridors and sleeping quarters. One crew member was slightly injured.

“An examination carried out by specialised teams has confirmed that the tanker has been the subject of a terrorist attack,” the official WAM news agency said, quoting a UAE coastguard. “UAE explosives experts who collected and examined samples found a dent on the starboard side above the waterline and remains of homemade explosives on the hull. Probably the tanker had encountered a terrorist attack from a boat laden with explosives.”

So now we’ve got terrorists and pirates operating in the same waters. The very same waters patrolled by half the navies of the world. The same waters through which passes at least a quarter of the world’s crude oil on a daily basis.

I’d say it’s time for open season on all small boats in the area. Any and every one of them. Approach a large ship within a mile and the assumption has to be that you are a belligerent. Open fire.
Right of Way of smaller vessels? Sure, sure. Just make sure your little skiff is pointing away from the big boys until they’re out of sight. Otherwise you are a valid target. Bofors Gun beats Right of Way every time. So paddle faster Achmed.

On the third hand, it’s so cool that ships exist that are so damn large that a boatload of splodeydopes splats themselves against the side and the reaction is “Oh I say, did you hear something?”

The only picture to show what Henry VIII’s spectacular ‘lost’ palace really looked like.

I don’t suppose there are too many people really knocked out by this.  But I am and so am posting it.
Wow ... what a shame it was torn down. Progress and gambling debts.  Spells disaster for places like this.

Take a look.

Glimpse of a ‘lost’ palace: Only realistic painting of Henry VIII showpiece torn down by a royal mistress goes on sale for £1m

Last updated at 4:17 PM on 22nd November 2010

The only picture to show what Henry VIII’s spectacular ‘lost’ palace really looked like is to tipped to sell for more than £1million.

The incredibly rare 450-year-old painting depicts Nonsuch Palace in its full glory, after it was commissioned by the King to outshine his greatest rival King François I of France.

The expensive and extravagant building was named Nonsuch as it was said no other palace could equal its magnificence.

image

But it stood for only 150 years until Charles II’s mistress tore it down and sold off the materials to pay off her gambling debts.

Despite its contemporary fame, the lost palace was only depicted four times before crumbling into disrepair by 1690.

Of these, only one painting - a watercolour by Joris Hoefnagel published in 1572 - is believed to show its true likeness.

The three others - an exaggerated thumbnail by John Speed in 1610, a painting by an unknown artist in 1620 and a view by Hendrick Danckerts in 1660 - are not considered accurate.

The Hoefnagel painting is now being sold at auction by Christie’s on December 7, and is expected to fetch up to £1.2million.

The watercolour is one of the oldest painted in this country, was painted in situ at the palace near Ewell in Surrey, In the late 19th century, it was acquired by art connoisseur Alfred Morrison and passed down his family line. It is now being sold by a private vendor.

It captures the ornate building as it was in the 16th century, shortly after it was completed to King Henry VIII’s demanding standards.

Down the Memory Hole

Hey, remember Global Warming? No, me neither. Two years ago we were being hit with a dozen news stories a day, every day. Now, nothing. Kind of like how the media only talks about the plight of the homeless when there’s a Republican in the White House, but far worse than that. The story has simply ceased to exist. Probably because the whole thing has been proven fraudulent? I’m still waiting for Algore to be arrested for his part in the Carbon Credits ponzi scheme. And it’s high time he gave back his Nobel prize.

But CBullit does remember, and he’s been steadfast in running the AGW stories the rest of us grew sick of ages ago. So now he’s put together a lovely little timeline of the whole ClimateGate crash and burn. It’s a grand thing to read, short but with lots of links. With some blingy spassfabrik wallpaper too.

But unlike with other government scandals involving huge amounts of stolen money and outright lies, the press had already been bought and paid for–so they ignored the story of the year.

the screwing of britain a bit at a time … part one

I alluded to this in a previous post. Makes ya wonder why the powers that be don’t use forced sterilization. The will really isn’t there to stop this kind of thing, even though the state says it’s going to.
Much of what you see in a post like this one, is the result of years of Labour Party rule. But the conservatives can’t be held totally blameless either.
It’s a kind of mindset and it’s been going on for so darn long that it’s become a way of life.  It’s your right. One of many.
So here the damn slag is, (photo at link) publicly telling authorities what her plans are.
You will notice her current live in boy friend is identified as a, Jamaican asylum seeker. WTH People are looking for asylum from Jamaica now? I guess he’s on benefits as well.  The ones hurt most beside the taxpayer, are those who honestly are in need of help. Through no fault of their own, or perhaps a mistake that anyone could make, they find themselves in dire need. It could be health, crime or an accident and they need help. I’ve even read about old folks in need who were too proud to go begging. Belonging to another generation, they couldn’t bring themselves to “go on the dole.”

So here’s more of the Screwing of Britain ....  And it’s damn sad.

This is from an editorial in the morning paper. A 5 a day veggie coordinator? huh?

Milking the motorist
By Daily Mail Comment
Fat-cat officials paid more than the Prime Minister ... Millions squandered on five-a-day vegetable co-coordinators and politically correct non-jobs ... The wastefulness of our Town Halls is legendary.
Yet, when they are asked to find economies in their budgets, in line with the rest of the public sector, how do they react?
By trying to clobber the motorist so they can carry on spending, of course.
The demand by six local authorities for fines for minor parking infringements to almost double, from £70 to £120, has nothing to do with deterring drivers from flouting the law.
It’s a covert tax on a public already facing an increase in VAT, and reduced council services.

But this one takes the prize for nerve and blackmail and fraud and whatever else you can think of.  People like this need to be sterilized permanently. No civil rights, no lawyers, no cash. No nothin.’ Well, maybe a firing squad. She’s worthless, she’s useless, she’s an intentional drain on the public purse.

Pregnant again, the mother with five children in care who vows to keep having babies until she gets a council house
By Andy Dolan

An unemployed benefits claimant whose five children were all taken into care has vowed to continue having babies until she is granted a council house.
Lavine Samma, 27, is now pregnant with her sixth child by three different men and fully expects the baby to be taken from her by social services at birth, just like the last three infants.

Since 2002, the feckless mother has given birth to three boys and two girls and doesn’t even know who the father is of one.
She does not work and rakes in around £600 a month in benefits.

But Miss Samma claimed yesterday that it was her ‘human right as a woman to have children’ and vowed to continue falling pregnant until the local authority moved her from her 16th floor inner-city council flat to a ‘proper council house’.

When the Daily Mail called just before 11am yesterday Miss Samma was just about awake but still in bed.  Nevertheless, she quickly warmed to her theme.
‘I’m not a priority for a house because I don’t have children with me, but if I had children in my care I would be’, she said.
‘If they keep taking them away from me I will just keep having them. Again and again and again!’

Miss Samma, who lives in a tower block in Newtown, Birmingham, with Jamaican asylum-seeker boyfriend Damien Sewell, lost her first two children - a girl and a boy - in March 2006, when social services were tipped off that she had been neglecting the elder child, then aged three and a half.
Bruises and scratches were discovered on the girl’s back and the following year the mother was found guilty of neglect.
She was jailed for a year and released on licence after six months.

The girl’s father left her after the birth and the couple divorced. When the second child was born in 2005, Miss Samma believed Mr Sewell was the father, but a DNA test revealed he was not. The children are now in the custody of a relative.
Since then, the couple have had three children together. All have been removed within hours or days of their birth by social services.
Miss Samma said she admitted neglecting her first two children but claimed that should not stop her from having more children in the future

.
She said her ultimate aim was to ‘be a mum - which is my right’, rather than to simply get a council house.
But she admitted that being rehoused as a result would be a ‘happy side-effect’ of being allowed to parent a child.
She claims £96.72 a fortnight in Jobseekers’ Allowance and £87 per week housing benefit.

But although she claims to be looking for work, she said she struggles because of depression, as well as the fact that she is pregnant.
She met Mr Sewell, 31, in 2002 when he came to England on a holiday visa and later claimed asylum.  The couple said he is unable to claim benefits but refused to comment further on his immigration status. It is thought he is still waiting for a final decision on his claim. Miss Samma has lived in her one-bedroom council flat since she was 18.

But she said she is determined to leave the property because it is riddled with mold.  Mr Sewell said: ‘The whole system is corrupt’, he moaned. ‘The courts and the council, they are all against us. ‘I know they will try and take this latest baby from us, but that won’t stop us having more.’

Last night a spokesman for the TaxPayers’ Alliance said the case ‘shows why our welfare system needs so desperately to be reformed’.
He added: ‘This woman has little incentive to go and find work, to get on in life, or to pay for her own housing, because the state is providing all of this for her.
The real losers in this sorry tale are the children...but it is unfair for taxpayers to be asked to support people who have large numbers of children, and no intention of providing for them.’

ANOTHER USELESS SLAG ON THE DOLE

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
