re-enlistments will fall to ZERO
White House may be exploring a larger role for Senator Kerry in Afghanistan
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) will have “an enormously important role” in Afghanistan and the administration’s policy there, according to a White House official.
Kerry, who is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama at the White House on Wednesday morning, was instrumental in convincing Afghan President Hamid Karzai to agree to a runoff election. An independent election audit found Karzai did not receive more than 50 percent of the vote in the presidential election.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday that after Kerry spent “time and energy” in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the president is “anxious to get his read on the situation in both countries ... as well as what he heard from our commanders over there.”
Gibbs said that the White House did not arrange for Kerry to travel to the region but that he “played an enormously effective role in the process of the diplomacy needed” to convince Karzai to agree to a runoff.
Gibbs said Kerry’s position as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee means he will continue to be a voice on the issue. After Obama was elected, Kerry was said to be on the shortlist for secretary of State, but that position went to Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Despite Kerry’s efforts and Karzai’s agreement, the president appears no closer to making a decision on a strategy for Afghanistan.
Gibbs said “it’s certainly possible” that Obama will make a decision before the runoff election, but he does not know if that’s the case.
Un. Fargin. Be. Lievable. Hey, let’s put Jane Fonda in charge of the Patriotism Awards committee. She’s equally qualified, and in exactly the same way!

300-Plus Arrests Made in ‘Project Coronado’ Drug Cartel Raids
Attorney General Eric Holder calls it the largest single strike at a Mexican drug cartel operating in the U.S. — the arrest of more than 300 people in a series of drug raids across the country.
Holder said at a news conference that the arrests over the past two days were aimed at the U.S. operations of the La Familia cartel. Holder said La Familia is the newest and most violent of Mexico’s five drug cartels.
More than 3,000 federal agents and police officers made the arrests in more than a dozen states. The raids are part of a long-running anti-drug operation that has led to nearly 1,200 arrests over almost four years.
Many of the charges are centered on the cartel’s operations pumping large quantities of methamphetamine into the United States, and other drug distribution charges involve cocaine and marijuana, the officials said.
Project Coronado has targeted La Familia, a drug-trafficking cartel based in the state of Michoacan in southwestern Mexico.
The cartel claims it opposes the sale of meth to Mexicans, but supports its consumption by Americans.
Officials said states where arrests were made or charges filed include California, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington state.
More Than 1,700 People Arrested in Immigration Gang Probe
U.S. immigration officials say a six-month, 89-city operation focused on gangs led to the arrests of more than 1,700 people.
The 1,785 arrests are of people suspected of gang and criminal activity or immigration violations. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday 35 percent have violent criminal histories, 16 are gang leaders and more than 1,400 are suspected gang members. About 905 people face criminal charges.
The operation targeted gangs with largely foreign-born members involved in many types of smuggling. The operation ended Sept. 30. The arrests are part of the Operation Community Shield program that involves federal, state and local law enforcement officers.
Nice work guys, but this is just a drop in the bucket. You could arrest and deport this many gang members and illegal aliens every day for the rest of Obama’s term, and it would hardly make a bit of difference. But it would be a start, so get back to work. And secure that damn border so they can’t get back in again.

Don’t Like It Here? Then Stay The Hell Home
Police: Strict Iraqi Father Ran Daughter Down
PEORIA, Ariz. - Peoria police are looking for a father suspected of running down his daughter because she was becoming too “westernized” and was not living according to their traditional Iraqi values.
Peoria police say 48-year-old Faleh Hassan Almaleki of Glendale allegedly ran his daughter down Tuesday at an Arizona Department of Economic Security parking lot in Peoria.
“When I walked out the door I saw two ladies on the ground, so my first thought was some kind of domestic dispute,” says witness Synthia Diaz.
The victim, 20-year-old Noor Faleh Almaleki of Surprise, is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
A second woman, Noor Almaleki’s roommate, was also injured. She’s identified as 43-year-old Amal Edan Khalaf, also of Surprise. Khalaf has what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
Faleh Almaleki was last seen driving a grey or silver 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee, Arizona license ADS-9192. He has not yet been apprehended.
Family and friends told Peoria investigators that Almaleki was mad and threatened his daughter for adopting Western ways. Almaleki and his family had moved to Glendale from Iraq.
Southwest citizens: be on the lookout for a silver Cherokee. Beware, the driver should be considered deranged and muslim.

Drat That Pesky Document!
Um, I’d say no. And even if he gives the money away, it still has to pass through his fingers in order for him to do that. Therefore he will be taking the money. Big no-no, that one.
Apart from the question of whether President Obama deserves the Nobel Prize — a matter that we’ve suggested is the purview of the Norwegians — the newspapers are starting to crackle with the question of whether the Constitution permits Mr. Obama to accept it. The Nobel, after all, is worth more than $1 million, and Article I, Second 9 of the United States Constitution states in plain language that “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States” and that “no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign state.”
Josh Gerstein, formerly national correspondent of the Sun, reports on Politico that the White House is rejecting as “flat out wrong” the notion that the Nobel Prize would be covered by the proscriptions in the Constitution. “The Constitution talks about kings and princes and foreign states,” Mr. Gerstein quotes a White House aide as asserting. “Here, Alfred Nobel, a private citizen, set up a private foundation — the Nobel Foundation — that awards the money.” The aide wouldn’t be named, Mr. Gerstein said, quoting him as also pointing out that Mr. Obama “has already indicated that he does not intend to keep the money.”
Mr. Gerstein sprang on the issue on the day the prize was announced, as did J.P. Freire, associate commentary editor of the Washington Examiner. Mr. Freire quoted Title 5 of the United States code, under which Congress has laid down the law on gifts that can be accepted by a federal employee. It provides congressional consent to gifts in certain situations but sets a limit that, at the moment, is, according to the Justice Department Web site, $335. The law covers both the president and vice president as well as all other federal employees, including congressmen. So even were the Constitutional question to be vague, the statute seems to be clear.
Read the rest in The NY Sun.

In a similar vein
Remember those “Fortunately, Unfortunately” books from early grade school? I thought of them today when I linked over to Theodore’s World; the post reminded me so much of Phyllis Schlafly’s post from the other day. Like a bad recycler, here are both of them at the same time, co-mingled. Visit Phyllis’ page to get all the links.
- If Barack Obama had campaigned on what he has actually done in his first 300 days in office, would he have been elected? That’s the question so many are asking today.
- If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
- If Obama had told us he would appoint 34 Czars, reporting only to himself and not vetted or confirmed in the constitutional way, building a powerful unitary executive branch of government, would he have been elected? What if he had told us that his Green Jobs Czar had been a Communist, that the Science Czar wrote in a college textbook that compulsory “green abortions” are an acceptable way to control population growth, and that the Diversity Czar has spoken publicly of getting white media executives to “step down” in favor of minorities?
- If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
- If Obama had told us he would take over the automobile industry faster than any socialist dictator ever nationalized an industry, fire the CEO of General Motors and replace him with a Democratic Party campaign contributor, would Obama have been elected? If Obama had campaigned on closing down thousands of profitable car dealers, nearly all Republicans, would we have believed that this vindictive financial retaliation against those who didn’t vote for Obama could happen in America?
- If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
- If Hugo Chavez, the Communist who nationalized most of Venezuela’s industries, had said before the election that “Comrade Obama” would nationalize the U.S. automobile industry and “end up to his right,” would anybody have believed it? If talk shows had warned against such a socialist takeover, would the Obama-loving media have accused them of McCarthyism?
- If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
- If Obama had told us he would spend $3 billion in a Cash for Clunkers program that would use taxpayers’ funds to buy mostly foreign cars and grind up the used American cars traded in to make them unusable, would he have been elected?
- If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVD’s, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
- If Obama had told us that his Stimulus package is a sham because it does not create private-sector jobs (as a tax cut would do), so that the unemployment rate has risen to nearly 10 percent, with 15 million Americans unemployed plus another 11 million underemployed, could he have been elected?
- If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
- If Obama had told us his Supreme Court pick would be a woman who said repeatedly that a “Latina woman” would make better decisions than “a white male,” that his pick for chief State Department lawyer would be a transnationalist who wants to integrate foreign law into law binding on U.S. citizens, and that his pick for Regulations Czar argues that animals are entitled to have lawyers to sue humans in court, would Obama have been elected?
- If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved?
- If we had known that Obama would be totally incompetent as commander-in-chief of his chosen war in Afghanistan, and would not speak to the general in the field for 70 days, ignoring his dire report for six weeks, would Obama have been elected?
- If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
- If Obama had told us he would have the government guarantee 90 percent of all U.S. mortgages, imposing $5 trillion in off-budget debt on U.S. taxpayers who had faithfully made their own mortgage payments, would he have been elected? And what if Obama had told us he would have the taxpayers take over 80 percent of all student loans at a cost of $1 trillion over the next decade?
- If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
- If Obama had told us that he would make the U.S. government a major shareholder in Citigroup (one of the world’s largest banks), would you have believed he could get away with this socialist takeover?
- If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
- If Obama had admitted that his health care plan would include the same provisions for which he ran negative TV ads against Hillary Clinton (a federal mandate requiring every American to buy health insurance) and against John McCain (a tax on high-cost employer-based plans), would Obama have been elected?
- If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word “advice” would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?
- And what if Obama had told us that his federal health plan would pay for all abortions without regard to the Hyde Amendment, and provide full health care (including private doctor visits) to immigrants without requiring proof of legal residence?
- If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?
- If Obama had campaigned on increasing federal spending and debt from a multi-billion-dollar level to multi-trillions, would he have been elected?
- If George W. Bush’s administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
- And what if Obama had told us that his promise to “spread the wealth around” would balloon his first year’s budget deficit to $1.6 trillion?
- If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
- If Obama had told us that his promise to “spread the wealth around” meant wiping out the Republican welfare reform of 1996 and increasing annual welfare spending by 39 percent to almost $1 trillion a year by the end of his first term, would he have been elected?
- If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved?
- If Obama had declared during his campaign that his first major speech abroad would be to the Muslim world, and that he would proclaim in Muslim Turkey that “one of the great strengths of the United States is . . . we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation,” would he have been elected?
- If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
While this is a rather long list, it isn’t by any means complete. It’s merely the tip of the iceberg. And we have another 3 1/2 years of this.
So, do you think any of those “52ers” are suffering from Buyer’s Remorse yet? Not that they’re actually “52ers”. More like “41ers” when you factor in the vote stealing and election rigging done by ACORN and their associated minions. I note that the latest Rasmussen polls have Chairman Mao Jr. Zero down to a “-13” rating, now for a record length of time. Which is NOT news, so please forget that I just said that.
A Rationalization:
This is art. An original. It hangs in the Tate Gallery in London:
L’escargot, by Henri Matisse
This is also art. And also an original. It presently hangs in the White House:
Watusi, by Alma Thomas
If turning a picture on it’s side and changing a few colors turns a total steal into an original, then interleaving two great posts together line by line exempts me from charges of plagiarism. If it’s good enough for the President of the United States, it’s more than good enough for me. Not that this is my plan for time saving in future, I’m just pointing out another layer of bullshit in our world.

“ACTIVISTS” STOP SALE OF HALLOWEEN OUTFIT COS IT OFFENDS ALIENS. SOME ANYWAY.
News from the bastion of free speech .... the USA.
OK, a tad snarky but another one of those damn stories that make me wonder how long we have.
So, a group that represents foreigners can decide what stores should sell and EVEN online stuff faces bans.
What’s the big deal?
An illegal alien Halloween costume has been withdrawn from sale in Los Angeles after an immigrant rights group called it “offensive.”
COMMIE LIBTARD SOURCE FOR MORE
Seems the executive director of this mouthful, The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, says the costume is “distasteful, mean spirited and ignorant.
I’ve seen things far more distasteful then this silly (and funny) costume.

HUMPTY DUMPTY SAT ON A WALL, ALONG CAME A SPIDER AND SAID LETS BE FRIENDS.
Right. Screwy headling. Screwy article too but hey, this is the UK 2009. This silly stuff has become the norm.
I’m having problems shaking whatever the heck it was I had a week ago. Off line yesterday and now find I’m backed up.
I think my stomach ache isn’t the result of aspirin. It’s the result of consuming too many newspapers and listening to radio news. But mostly papers.
OK so, Humpty-Dumpty sat on a wall but all is okay and no trauma to the kiddies cos the BBC has changed the ending.
OH .. And little Miss Muffet is no longer frightened by that bad ol spider.
They have become friends in the true spirit of diversity and multi-culture.
Outrage as BBC changes ending of Humpty DumptyMon, 19 Oct 2009
Accident-prone nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty has been given a happier ending thanks to some controversial tweaking of his story by the BBC.
Britain’s public broadcaster changed the words to the 1810 rhyme for one of its children’s shows so all those who originally couldn’t “put Humpty together again” after his great fall could now make “Humpty happy again”.The change, broadcast on the CBeebies programme Something Special last Friday, outraged Labour MP for Glasgow South Tom Harris who watched the show with his two young sons.
Harris told The Independent on Sunday it was “pathetic” that the BBC had rewritten one of the most famous nursery rhymes so children would not be upset at Humpty’s fate.
“For goodness sake. Obviously children will find it far too violent, distressing and horrific that Humpty should not be put together again,” he told the newspaper.A BBC spokesman said the changes were made for creative reasons.
“We play nursery rhymes with their original lyrics all the time and the small change to Humpty Dumpty was done for no other reason than being creative and entertaining,” he said.It is not the first time the BBC has tweaked a popular nursery rhyme to ensure a more sanitised ending.
A recent CBeebies cookery show changed Little Miss Muffet so the little girl no longer runs away from the spider but instead becomes friends with the eight-legged creature.

SOME VERY WEIRD DISORDERED LAW. Steal..16months. Gang beats crap outta guy, 6months.
Frankly in both cases below the pukes involved should themselves be whipped, spend a few days in the stocks and then a long time in jail.
The first case is sad and sick. This drunk comes upon a guy on the ground, he’s had a heart attack. He may have already been dead. Maybe not. But the town drunk goes through the guy’s pockets and comes up with less then $6 saying, he’s dead and won’t need this anymore. Pretty cold.
No sympathy for the drunk whatsoever!
What I am having trouble understanding are the standards of penalties for crime.
The drunk got 16 months.
The other story is an update. Group of drunk women beat the hell out of this poor guy. If you read his statement, he was worried about hitting a woman and so held back. I think that could be a damn hard thing to do honestly. Yeah, you must defend yourself. You can’t volunteer to be a punching bag. But the idea of hitting a woman is so foreign to many. We immediately think sisters, mothers, wives, aunts etc.
Thing is though, these scags, these absolute scumbags, these mindless sluts WITH RECORDS, one of whom has eight previous convictions including one for battery, these wasters of air and space got 6 months. SIX MONTHS! wtf?
You surely can’t wonder why I continually see things through ARCOB.
‘Britain’s sickest thief’ who rifled pockets of dying bus driver to steal loose change is jailed
By Daily Mail ReporterA robber who rifled through the pockets of a heart attack victim as he lay dying has been condemned as the sickest thief in Britain’.
Peter Watson took £3 from his victim, saying: ‘He doesn’t need it – he’s dead.’
Last night Watson, who is 30 and unemployed, was branded an ‘animal’ after a judge jailed him for 16 months.
Watson had been walking with a group of friends through a park when they came across Peter Lisowycz, 51, lying on the ground.
The bus driver, who is believed to have had a heart attack, had collapsed and turned blue and was foaming at the mouth. One of the group tried to put him in the recovery position but was stunned when he looked up to see Watson searching through the dying man’s pockets and helping himself to around £3 in loose change.
A jury at Bolton Crown Court heard how the good samaritan challenged Watson, an alcoholic, and asked him what on earth he thought he was doing, to which Watson replied: ‘He doesn’t need it – he’s dead.’Last night Watson was condemned by both senior police officers and Mr Lisowycz’s family.
His father Walter Lisowycz, 85, said: ‘I’m just glad that they have caught this man and that he has got what he deserved. He is an animal.’
He said his son, a father of one, had been walking up a hill through the park in Rochdale, Lancashire, when he collapsed.
He said: ‘I can’t stop thinking about Peter. I think he was heading to our house that day.
‘He had been married for a long time and he had a daughter. He was a good worker, he paid his mortgage, had bought a car and was planning holidays when he died.’A police source said that in more than 20 years of service he had never come across such a contemptuous act of theft.
He said: ‘This man has to be the sickest thief in Britain. It was a truly shocking thing to do and an appalling crime committed on a dying man.’
After the incident the good samaritan called an ambulance as Watson sauntered off down the street. Paramedics could not revive Mr Lisowycz and he was later pronounced dead. The helper was so appalled by what Watson had done that he reported him to police.
Watson, who admitted theft but denied making the ‘He doesn’t need it’ comment, smirked throughout the court hearing.
Jonathan Lally, defending, said Watson recognised what he had done was wrong but said he had major personal difficulties including an alcohol problem-that began at the age of 13.
Oh wait a minute. I think I see the difference. Beating the crap out of some innocent victim for fun is only an, “AFFRAY.”
Screwed up country and culture. Waaaa .... I wanna be hooooooome.
Shocking CCTV images of girl gang kicking a male victim in drunken attack which left him with footprint on his face
By Chris Brooke
Last updated at 8:22 PM on 20th October 2009
Drunk and baying like dogs, five women brutally attack a stranger in the street.
The women - all from the same family - targeted Matthew Campbell, 38, at random, kicking and stamping on him as he lay prone on the pavement.
Their sickening eight-minute assault was captured on CCTV and resulted in all the women being jailed for six months.Mr Campbell, a commercial diver, told yesterday how he restrained himself from hitting back because he has never struck a woman before.
The video clearly shows him holding his hands up pleading with the women to stop, but a court heard they acted like a ‘pack of dogs’ to pursue their prey.
The victim, who was walking home after a drink with friends, was lucky to escape the attack in November last year without major injury.
He suffered bruising all over his body, heel marks and scratches on his back and head and had a footprint mark on his face. All the women, aged between 21 and 42, are members of the same extended family and most of them are well known to the police.
They had been drinking heavily at a birthday party that evening.Prosecutor David Cammies said they attacked Mr Campbell for no apparent reason outside the Lloyds Arms pub in Grimsby town centre at 11.30pm.
Helen Barber, 29, Rachel Barber, 31, Kelly Macdonald, 32, Belinda Tomlinson, 42, and Katie Tomlinson, 21, all admitted affray.Recorder Rachim Singh told them: ‘The CCTV showed the sickening, brutal and repeated attack.
Grimsby Crown Court heard Helen Barber, who has eight previous convictions including one for battery, suffered a broken nose in the incident. She was believed to have been hit by Mr Campbell in self-defence.
Yesterday Mr Campbell said he had become ‘wary’ of going out in town centres following the incident which left him badly shaken.
Lee Rhoads, 32, also became involved in the attack and was jailed for four months after admitting affray.
The women all live in the Grimsby area. Katie Tomlinson, the youngest of the gang, describes herself on her Bebo site as being ‘born to be wild.’
She adds: ‘Happiest When im all stella’d up n partyin.’

Sniff Sniff Sniff
Brian Suozzo voted with an absentee ballot in the Working Families Party primary on Sept. 15 because, as his application stated, he was “at home recovering from medical procedure.”
Jessica Boomhower’s application said she would be attending a “work conference in Boston.” Michael Ward couldn’t vote in person because he was “taking care of elderly parent.” Kimberlee Truell was on a “Bus trip to casino,” as was Miguel Vazques. The only problem with these absentee ballot records at the Rensselaer County Board of Elections in Troy, N.Y., is that they’re phony, voters and investigators say—and they’ve prompted what’s being called an unprecedented investigation of suspected voter fraud.
Thirty-eight forged or fraudulent ballots have been thrown out—enough votes, an election official admits, to likely have tipped the city council and county elections in November to the Democrats. Candidates would have been able to run both on the Democratic and Working Families Party lines in two weeks, and that could have given the Democrats in the general election.
A special prosecutor is investigating the case and criminal charges are possible. New York State Supreme Court Judge Michael Lynch ruled that there were “significant election law violations that have compromised the rights of numerous voters and the integrity of the election process.”
Among the reasons cited on the fraudulent forms for absentee voting: “traveling to Buffalo,” attending a “screen printing conference in Syracuse,” “working late shift,” “working construction,” and “home - ill.”
“Someone took my signature and voted with it and I felt extremely violated,” Suozzo told Fox News. He is a soft-spoken 28-year-old environmental engineer who says he never saw, let alone signed, the Working Families Party Absentee ballot application that carried his supposed signature. He was flabbergasted that someone would vote for him and submit it.
“The whole thing seems dirty to me,” Suzzo said. “You wonder how often this happens and people don’t get caught.”
“They tried to steal an election,” says Bob Mirch, the majority leader of the Rensselaer County legislature who suspected voter fraud and started the investigation after being alerted to a large number of absentee ballot application requests that were noticed by the Republican Board of Elections commissioner .
“Not only does it undermine the system, but if these people were allowed to do this, we could never have a fair election… I’ve been doing this for 35 years, when I saw this, it sends a chill through my body right now.”
Currently composed of some 30,000 members, the Working Families Party (WFP) is a front group for ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). WFP functions as a political party in New York State and Connecticut, promoting ACORN-friendly candidates. Unlike conventional political parties, WFP charges its members dues—about $60 per year—a policy characteristic of ACORN and its affiliates.
According to the party’s website, WFP is a coalition founded jointly by ACORN, the Communications Workers of America, and the United Automobile Workers. However, ACORN clearly dominates the coalition. New York ACORN leader Steven Kest was the moving force in forming the party, and WFP headquarters are located at the same address as ACORN’s national office, at 88 Third Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
An outgrowth of the socialist New Party, WFP was created in 1998. According to a 2000 article by the Associated Press, its objective was (and still is) to “help push the Democratic Party toward the left.” In pursuit of this goal, WFP runs radical candidates in state and local elections. Generally, WFP candidates conceal their extremism beneath a veneer of populist rhetoric, promoting bread-and-butter issues designed to appeal to union workers and other blue-collar voters, Republican and Democrat alike.
The Working Families Party benefits from a quirk of New York State (and Connecticut) election law which allows parties to “cross-endorse” candidates of other parties. Thus when Hillary Clinton ran for the Senate in 2000, she ran both on the Democratic Party ticket and on the Working Families Party ticket. Of the 3.4 million popular votes Ms. Clinton received from New Yorkers, the Working Families Party delivered 103,000.
The Working Families Party, in short, is not a political party in any normal sense of the term. It’s a complex tool for well-funded special interests looking to raid the public treasury. [ which translates as UNION CONTROLLED. And a big GUESS WHO is the main union that feeds them cash? You knew it! Got it in one: ]
Leading the donor pack was the potent health-care workers’ SEIU Local 1199, with more than $300,000—followed by the teachers unions, with $200,000.
And ACORN—itself a major recipient of union cash—has tremendous overlap with the WFP. The two share two Brooklyn office spaces, plus senior leadership: WFP Executive Committee Chairwoman Bertha Lewis also runs ACORN’s New York chapter.
So, rigged elections, fraudulent votes, big union money, shadowy behind the scenes groups, far left agenda ... all tied to Democrats. Par for the course. But this story is news because it looks like they’ve finally been caught red handed, and the ties go right back to the sources. Good. Jail the whole damn bunch.

How long until somebody with balls and a badge is going to step up and prosecute ACORN under the RICO act? This shit goes on in state after state. It’s organized nationally. It’s been going on for years. Decades even. Shut them down and prosecute them already.
And in the mean time, throw out the voter registration data in every state and do the whole thing over. In person. With a photo ID and a fingerprint. And no absentee ballots by mail ever again. If you’re going to be away, you show up at the county seat and cast your ballot before you leave. After showing your voter ID and further proof that you are actually you. And lets put some serious teeth in the penalties for fraudulent voting already. This is bullshit. And it can be stopped overnight if people have the will.

What a Turd
This is beyond stupid. We’re fighting a war over there, m’kay? Sure, sure, win those hearts and minds. After the fighting is over. Duh, even the SecDef agrees.
Gates: U.S. Cannot Wait for Afghan Election to Make Troop Decision
Defense Secretary Robert Gates tells reporters aboard his plane to Tokyo that the administration cannot “sit on our hands” with regard to troop levels in Afghanistan.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday that the Obama administration cannot wait for the Afghan election to be resolved before making a decision on troop levels, appearing to be at odds with White House officials who have tied a decision on U.S. strategy to the resolution of the election and political stability.
Gates suggested the election would not have an immediate impact on the overall situation in the country.
He told reporters aboard his plane to Tokyo that the administration cannot “sit on our hands.”
The comments come after Afghanistan’s election commission ordered a runoff Nov. 7, following an inquiry that found thousands of ballots were fraudulent. President Hamid Karzai accepted the decision.
But White House officials, as well as Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., have suggested that U.S. strategy toward Afghanistan is contingent on political stability.
“Quite frankly, I think any credible person in this country would make a case that all the troops in the world will not solve a problem without a partner that is there ultimately to help,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday. “None of this is going to work without credible partners.”
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said over the weekend that it would be “reckless” to make a decision on troop levels without doing a “thorough analysis” of whether the U.S. has a “true partner in governing.”
And Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, bluntly said it would be “irresponsible” to commit more troops before the election is resolved.
These comments drew widespread criticism from Democrats and Republicans in Congress Monday. They said a runoff is important, but that U.S. military strategy is not dependent on who’s leading the country.
If the Obama administration waits until Afghanistan settles its presidential election before deciding whether to send in more troops, it will be making a big mistake, members of Congress from both sides of the aisle said Monday.
After the White House and a top Democrat said over the weekend that it would be irresponsible to make a troop level decision before a credible government is in place, lawmakers argued that it would make no sense for the administration to wait before moving forward with its new strategy.
“It is immaterial to this process,” said Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, saying it is “unbelievable” that the administration would wait for the dust to settle on Afghan politics.
“I don’t think we should delay one set of decisions because of another set of variables,” said Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash., who sits on the House Armed Services and Intelligence Committees.
If John Kerry says do it one way, then it’s almost a guarantee that the best course of action is the complete opposite. Beats me why Taxatwoshits keeps electing this traitor to office, but he has all the military expertize of a sand flea. But he’s the “soldier” that the White House listens to. So Obama dithers even more as Rome Afghanistan burns.
Praise Allah that the Pakis are starting their own campaign against AQ and the Talis. and making some progress too.
Pakistan’s army claimed Sunday to have killed 60 militants on the first day of an operation against an Al Qaeda and Taliban sanctuary close to the Afghan border that residents said was meeting stiff resistance from insurgents. The army said six soldiers had also been killed in the opening salvoes of the push into South Waziristan.
The operation in South Waziristan follows repeated requests from the U.S. to take on the jihadists behind soaring terrorist attacks in the nuclear-armed nation, as well as Al Qaeda and other extremists believed to be plotting strikes in the West.
It involves mostly poorly equipped Pakistani soldiers trained to fight conventional wars, not counterinsurgency operations, who have failed in three other campaigns in the mountainous region since 2004. Much of the region is under total Taliban control.
Accounts from residents and those fleeing Sunday suggested that the 30,000 troops were in for a bloodier time than in the Swat Valley, another northwestern region that the army successfully wrested away from insurgents earlier this year.
“Militants are offering very tough resistance to any movement of troops,” Ehsan Mahsud, a resident of Makeen, a town in the region, told The Associated Press in the town of Mir Ali, close to the battle zone. He and a friend arrived there early Sunday after traveling through the night.
Mahsud said the army appeared to be mostly relying on air strikes and artillery against militants occupying high ground. He said the insurgents were firing heavy machine guns at helicopter gunships, forcing the air force to use higher-flying jets.
The army is up against about 10,000 local militants and about 1,500 foreign fighters, most of them from Central Asia. They control roughly 1,275 square miles of territory, or about half of South Waziristan, in areas loyal to former militant chief Baitullah Mehsud, who was killed in a U.S. missile strike in August.
Officials have said they envisage the operation will last two months, when winter weather will make fighting difficult.

A Last Hurrah For NASA?
Nasa’s Ares 1-X rocket was finally secured on the launch pad today ready for its $455 million test-flight, even as the White House considered a proposal that the vehicle should be scrapped.
The 327-foot booster, which has been four years in the making, emerged from the 52-storey Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, at 1.39am local time in what its creators heralded as a “historic” moment. It reached the launchpad nearly eight hours later.
The prototype rocket, designed to launch astronauts into orbit following retirement of the shuttle — and ultimately to the Moon and Mars — is the first crew spacecraft Nasa has rolled out in 30 years.
A floodlit Ares I-X departed the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) in the early hours of Tuesday, ahead of test launch of a new system that is under real threat of being canceled in the coming months. However, Ares I-X – set to launch on October 27 from the slightly modified Pad 39B – is still deemed viable, due to its role in gathering important data for the engineering teams.
Blast-off, scheduled for next Tuesday, should be a more animated affair as the rocket hurtles 28 miles high, at a top speed of 3,000mph, before diving into the Atlantic Ocean.
The demonstration flight will allow Nasa to test hardware and gather critical data, in readiness for manned launches that are planned to begin in 2015, when astronauts would be launched in a capsule known as Orion stacked on the top of the rocket.
But a White House-appointed review panel has established that Nasa does not currently have the budget to fulfil its vision for venturing as far as the Moon, and has suggested the abandonment of Ares in favour of cheaper, commercially-built boosters.
NASA plans to use a five-segment shuttle booster as the first stage of its Ares I rocket, one of two being designed as part of the post-shuttle Constellation program. Carrying a hydrogen-fueled second stage, the Ares I is designed to boost Orion crew capsules into low-Earth orbit for flights to the International Space Station and eventual trips to the moon.
Two five-segment boosters would be used to help launch a huge new unmanned rocket called the Ares V designed to loft Altair lunar landers into orbit. After docking with an Orion capsule, the Ares V would boost the combined spacecraft to the moon. NASA hopes to establish long-duration research stations on the moon in the early 2020s.
The rocket is Ares I-X — a suborbital prototype for the Ares I rocket NASA plans to use to launch its shuttle successor, the Orion spacecraft. Currently the world’s tallest booster, the Ares I-X rolled out to the launch pad early Tuesday and is slated to blast off Oct. 27 at 8 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT) on a short demonstration flight.
”The Ares I-X is going to fly straight up and straight out,” said NASA commentator George Diller as the 327-foot (100-meter) tall rocket began moving toward Launch Pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. “During that time we’ll be testing the stage separation to determine how well the first stage separation motors perform, as well as the performance of the booster itself, namely the parachutes and other apparatus that will deploy.”
The Ares I-X is not a full Ares I rocket. Its first stage is a four-segment solid rocket booster — repurposed from the shuttle fleet’s inventory — capped with a dummy fifth segment. The thicker second stage, Orion crew capsule and launch abort system are also all mock-ups built to simulate the size and mass of the real thing.
The Ares I-X flight is the first of three planned test flights for the Ares I rocket. The next launch, dubbed Ares I-Y, is slated to launch in 2014 and include a real second stage.
The Ares 1-X stands 327 feet tall. The Saturn V rocket was 363 feet tall. Ares’ first stage, the main booster, is a solid fuel rocket. This launch will use a 4 segment motor, future versions (Ares 1-Y, scheduled for 2013 or 2014) will use the full 5 segment motor. This motor consumes 1.4 million pounds of fuel in 2 minutes, producing 3.6 million pounds (22 million horsepower) of thrust. This is about half the thrust of the Saturn V’s first stage, but it’s only a third of the weight. It was recently tested out in Utah, and was a spectacular success.
“After witnessing what we just saw, it’s pretty easy to become speechless,” said Alex Priskos, first stage manager for Ares Projects at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. “That was quite remarkable. This did exactly what we wanted to do. We are confident we’re going to get all the data we wanted to get out of this test. I think the team did a great job, we got the test we wanted to get. ... We are very, very pleased. The data looks great.”
Said Charles Precourt, vice president and general manager of space launch systems for ATK: “It’s a very humbling experience when you think about harnessing the kind of energy we just unleashed today, 3.6 million pounds of thrust. Our engineers in the back rooms are ecstatic, the preliminary indications look wonderful.”
So, regardless of cost or development problems, or even politics, it looks like NASA is finally all systems go. Too bad Washington and it’s feet of clay are all systems stop. The dems always did hate space exploration, and this program is no different. Obama has been against it since before the inauguration. Better to spend the money on some more welfare checks to the po’ an starvin’. Oh, plus stuff like this makes America look good, and we’re all proud of the accomplishment. Can’t have that! Gosh, just think of the carbon footprint something like this makes!
Like the early Saturn 1-B flights, the launch of the Ares-1X is primarily to test the booster engine, the thrust vectoring controls, and the stage separation mechanisms. The upper stages will be dummies, containing little more than instruments. The booster will be recovered by parachute and is reusable, but the dummy upper stages will be allowed to crash into the ocean.

Pirates Seize Chinese Ship
Pirates Threaten to Execute 25 Chinese Sailors
Somali pirates responsible for hijacking a Chinese cargo ship in the Indian Ocean threatened Tuesday to kill its 25 crew members if a rescue operation was attempted.
“We tell China not to endanger the lives of their people with any rescue operation,” Hassan, a member of the gang that seized the vessel on Monday, told Reuters by phone.
“If they try that we will execute the whole crew ... we tell them to change their mind regarding any rescue, otherwise they will regret it. We know what they are planning to do.”
A government spokesman said China is making an “all-out” effort to rescue the cargo ship.
The De Xin Hai and its 25 crew members were seized by pirates in the Indian Ocean about 700 miles east of the lawless Somali coastline.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said China has launched a “contingency mechanism” in the wake of the hijacking and ordered missions abroad to verify developments and notify relevant countries.
It has also issued warnings to Chinese ships to stay away from the area “in case of accident or danger.”
“We will continue to follow closely the developments and make all-out efforts to rescue the hijacked ship and personnel,” he said, without elaborating on details.
The bulk carrier De Xin Hai was hijacked Monday about 550 nautical miles northeast of the Seychelles and 700 nautical miles off Somalia’s eastern coast. The European Union Naval Force said Tuesday the ship was 650 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia and appears to be headed toward there.
John Harbour, a commander with the British Royal Navy who serves with the EU Naval Force, said the UK Maritime Trade Organization in Bahrain called the ship but received no response. An EU force aircraft is monitoring the ship and reported seeing four pirates on deck.
The De Xin Hai is owned by the Chinese Ocean Shipping Company and was carrying coal from India to South Africa when it was seized.
advertisementThe ship had been dragging two skiffs behind it, much like the kind of skiffs that pirates have been known to use to hijack ships in the waters off Somalia.
Let’s see what happens. I think this is a very bad case of biting the hand that feeds them; China has a huge investment in Africa, buying up their resources left and right. And for this they get hijacked? Major insult. Huge loss of face. I think it calls for more than just a rescue effort. I think it calls for more than mere reprisals. I think it calls for the evil yellow hordes to descend and to do some serious bitch slapping of these hos. Obama would not dare to speak out against such an action. China owns his ass and he knows it.
My only concern is that if such an incursion happens, China won’t go home afterwards. On the third hand, a lawless shithole like Somalia needs an iron handed tyranny to keep it behaving, and China fits that bill perfectly.
Fortunately or unfortunately, China will probably do little more than negotiate a ransom. At most they attack the ship and kill the pirates. And probably lose half the crew in the process. But that doesn’t really matter. They’ll spin the story however it works best for them, and the West will swallow every tasty sticky drop. Because right now, China holds all the chips, and can do whatever it wants.
Somali pirates have recently ramped up attacks after a period of quiet during poor weather. They use sophisticated equipment and so-called larger “mother ships” to enable them to strike hundreds of miles offshore. The multimillion-dollar ransoms they share are a fortune in their impoverished and war-ravaged country.
A total of 146 people, including the crew of the De Xin Hai, are currently being held hostage by pirates.
I strongly hope that the pirates have cracked open a really nasty Misfortune Cookie with this order of take-out. One with angry dragons inside. And it would be damn high time if they did.
Imagine that. I’m rooting for our undeclared but perpetual enemies very best friends and trading partners to take up arms in a big way against a gang of punks that Evil Boosh or Teh Won could obliterate in a matter of hours but don’t have the guts for.
And another thing ... it seems to me that when I did my previous pirate post, there were only 82 hostages. Now there are 148, including these 25. Guess I missed a few ship’s worth of hijackings, even though I check the ICC Pirate News twice a week.

In Your Face
Hubris or arrogance? It doesn’t matter. The White House controls the media and they don’t even pretend otherwise. And since this administration seems to be in perpetual campaign mode, don’t think for a nanosecond that anything has changed. Not a jot.
White House
Communist In ResidenceCommunications Director Anita Dunn is seen in a video from January talking about how the Obama campaign exercised absolute “control” over media coverage. The Obama campaign’s press strategy leading up to his election last November focused on “making” the media cover what the campaign wanted and on exercising absolute “control” over coverage, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told an overseas crowd early this year.
In a video of the event, Dunn is seen describing in detail the media strategy used by then-Sen. Barack Obama’s highly disciplined presidential campaign. The video is footage from a Jan. 12 forum hosted by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development in the Dominican Republic.
“Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn’t absolutely control,” Dunn said, admitting that the strategy “did not always make us popular in the press.”
The video drew attention after Dunn kicked off a war of words with Fox News last Sunday, calling the network “opinion journalism masquerading as news.” The White House stopped providing guests to “Fox News Sunday” in August after host Chris Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth, assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Dunn complained about the fact-checking last Sunday. In the January forum, she provided details about the lengths to which the Obama campaign went to control the media message.
She explained that the campaign favored live interviews so that Obama’s words could not be edited—“so that what the voters heard we determined, as opposed to some editor in a TV station.”
She said Campaign Manager David Plouffe put out Web videos so the campaign could avoid talking to reporters and focus the media message.
“Whether it was a David Plouffe video or an Obama speech, a huge part of our press strategy was focused on making the media cover what Obama was actually saying as opposed to why the campaign was saying it,” she said. “One of the reasons we did so many of the David Plouffe videos was not just for our supporters, but also because it was a way for us to get our message out without having to actually talk to reporters. ... We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it.”
And it was easy for them because the press was slavishly devoted. And they still are. Dunn’s message is really just the tip of the iceberg. She doesn’t admit that their influence was far far deeper than just how they went about delivering sound bites or setting up predetermined marshmallow interviews. Not a word about how they managed to get almost every reporter and journalist in the country to avoid any and all hard questions and criticisms. How they could lie out of both sides of their mouth at the same time, day after day, changing their tune whenever necessary. And no one would call them on that, ever. And no one would do a single bit of fact checking, ever. Not against Team Teh Won!
This campaign was an abomination and the media was utterly complicit. This administration is an obamanation and the media is still utterly complicit. It’s disgusting. And at least half the country is asleep at the switch, still completely unaware of it. And they wouldn’t care anyway.

Freedom moving out early
The Navy announced today. the decision to deploy the USS Freedom (LCS 1) in early 2010 to the Southern Command and Pacific Command areas ahead of her originally scheduled 2012 maiden deployment. According to Navy leaders, Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) are needed now to close urgent warfighting gaps.
“Deploying LCS now is a big step forward in getting this ship where it needs to be – operating in the increasingly important littoral regions,” said Adm. Gary Roughead, chief of naval operations. “We must deliver this critical capability to the warfighter now.”
The USS Freedom will have an immediate impact on fleet readiness and global reach as an asset with unique combat capabilities and the ability to meet littoral tasking not previously seen in the modern cruiser or destroyer fleet.
“The Navy plans to build a considerable number of littoral combat ships which will form the backbone of our future fleet,” said Adm J. C. Harvey, Jr., commander, U.S. Fleet Forces, charged with executing the early deployment. “The sooner we integrate them into our fleet, the sooner we can incorporate them in the order of battle. This deployment offers a golden opportunity to learn by doing. Employing the USS Freedom in theater two years ahead of a normal timeline allows us to incorporate lessons that can only be learned in a deployment setting more quickly and effectively in the LCS fleet integration process.”
Freedom is the lead ship of the Freedom class of Littoral combat ships (LCS), designed for near coastal operations. She is only 377 feet long, but can cruise around on the ocean about as fast as you used to drive on the highway. 55mph! Think of her as the world’s biggest and fastest PT boat. Freedom was designed to be “mission configurable”. She carries a crew of about 75 and has a flight deck big enough for the largest helicopters. The LCS program has run into some teething troubles, and it has been put on budgetary hold at least once. The latest idea is that the Navy and the Coast Guard will evaluate the 2 designs presently floating (the USS Independence is the other ship) and choose a single design which they will then both utilize.
On June 12, 2009, The Navy confirmed that CNO Roughead had ordered a study of an early deployment of $637 million Freedom, before the expected date of 2012. Anonymous sources inside Lockheed Martin reported that Roughead wanted to use the first LCS to patrol for pirates off the coast of Somalia.
I hope Freedom’s teething troubles are behind her now as she goes somewhat into harm’s way. God bless this ship and all who sail upon her!
