Pathetic News Story Of The Day

Take sixty anti-war protestors, throw in a few cops and their K-9 friends. Then when the cops ask the protestors to please leave nicely, watch as the stoopid, stinking protestors act childish and get bitten and taser’ed for their efforts. Oh, I almost forgot .... the Army recruiting office they were protesting .... was closed, being as how it was a Saturday night, after all ....

PITTSBURGH (AP)—Two women protesting the war in Iraq were taken to a hospital Saturday after police broke up an unauthorized march involving about five dozen people on a busy one-way street near an Army recruiting station.

David Meieran, who helped organize the protest, accused police of “inappropriate and excessive force.”

Sgt. Clint Winkler, a supervisor on duty, told The Associated Press that one woman who would not leave was subdued with a Taser. He also confirmed that a police dog bit another woman on the leg when she refused police orders to disperse.

Both women and a man involved in the march were arrested, Winkler said.

“They were told to disperse, peacefully disperse, and failed to do so, so we started down the sidewalk—officers in front, K-9’s behind us, and started pushing the crowd down the sidewalk,” Winkler said. He said the march broke up after the arrests.

The recruiting station was not open at the time.

The anti-war “movement” never ceases to amaze me. This story clearly exhibits the unmatched ignorance of the Angry Left. People this stupid should never be allowed to breed. Neuter their parents immediately!

Happy Birthday

A grand birthday party was held yesterday for a 150-year-old. And many happy returns ....

imageimageMILWAUKEE (AP)—When it’s Miller Time, Miller Brewing knows how to party. The nation’s second-largest and oldest major brewer threw a 150th birthday bash Saturday with more than 100 descendants of the Miller family attending. Lured by the Goo Goo Dolls, Bon Jovi and Miller beer, the invitation-only event called “The Big Brew-Ha” was expected to draw about 35,000 people to Miller Park, less than a mile from the brewery.

“This celebration has been 150 years in the making, and it’s one that no other major American brewing company is able to celebrate,” said Miller Brewing President and CEO Norman Adami. “We are here to celebrate a major milestone, but more importantly, we are here to celebrate the employees, past and present, who made the last 150 years possible.” Adami read a letter from President Bush, who called the story of Miller a testament to innovation. Tailgating began early in the afternoon as people listened to bands outside the ballpark.

“It’s been long overdue,” said Todd Bandy, sipping a Miller beer with his wife, Trudy, on their 19th wedding anniversary. “Milwaukee needed something like this.” The Bandys praised Miller for keeping close to its heritage. “They didn’t close the factory, they didn’t move it to Mexico,” Todd Bandy said. “When you know Miller is involved, it’s done right.”

Miller, which established light beer, relished the underdog role, even back to its roots in 1855 when the brewery began on the outskirts of Milwaukee. In 1903, the company unveiled High Life—dubbed “The Champagne of Bottle Beer”—and its sales skyrocketed, even at a premium price. A family feud split the business in half before both were ultimately sold to tobacco giant Philip Morris Inc. by 1970. The company’s ad campaigns highlighted “Miller Time” as the time after work for the common man to enjoy a cold beer.

Then came Miller Lite. The brewer launched the low-calorie beer nationwide in 1975 and brought up the famous “tastes great-less filling” ad spots with celebrities like comedian Rodney Dangerfield spearheading the campaign. Lite moved Miller from the seventh leading brewer in the nation in 1970 to second behind Anheuser-Busch by 1977. Now, Miller holds about 18.5 percent of the market share, compared with half by Anheuser-Busch. Miller was taken over by South African Breweries plc three years ago and now operates under the name SABMiller plc, and recent ad campaigns have reversed a 15-year sales decline. “We’ve waited for 150 years,” said Miller sales representative Matt Baumann, “we’ve got to pack a lot of partying in today.”

Leftist Attack On Judge Roberts #1,487,638

John Roberts Is A Male Chauvinist Pig!

At least that’s what the Washington Post wants you to believe ....

imageimage(WASHINGTON POST)—Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr. consistently opposed legal and legislative attempts to strengthen women’s rights during his years as a legal adviser in the Reagan White House, disparaging what he called “the purported gender gap” and, at one point, questioning “whether encouraging homemakers to become lawyers contributes to the common good.”

In internal memos, Roberts urged President Ronald Reagan to refrain from embracing any form of the proposed Equal Rights Amendment pending in Congress; he concluded that some state initiatives to curb workplace discrimination against women relied on legal tools that were “highly objectionable”; and he said that a controversial legal theory then in vogue—of directing employers to pay women the same as men for jobs of “comparable worth”—was “staggeringly pernicious” and “anti-capitalist.”

Sigh! Of course you can bet that all the quotes above were taken out of context and suitably re-arranged in the article to cast Judge Roberts in the worst possible light. I still fail to see what the Angry Left proposes to gain here. The American Bar Association has unanimously endorsed Judge Roberts so his legal experience and skills are unquestionable. What will they dig up next? Something he wrote in a kindergarten note to classmate Suzie that was derogatory? Who knows?

The only real problem with Judge Roberts is the fact that George W. Bush nominated him. If Bill Clinton had nominated him, you wouldn’t hear a peep from the Angry Left. You know it’s true. Go read the rest of the WAPO editorial and look at all the other “dirt” they’ve dug up on Judge Roberts. It never ceases to amaze me how rabid the Angry Left has become.

Fractured Fairy Tales

Mary had a little pig;
She kept it fat and plastered.
And when the price of pork went up,
She shot the little bastard.

Mary had a little lamb.
Her father shot it dead.
Now it goes to school with her,
Between two hunks of bread.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To have a little fun.
Stupid Jill forgot the pill
And now they have a son.

Simple Simon met a Pie man going to the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the Pie man,
“What have you got there?”
Said the Pie man unto Simon,
“Pies, you dumb #$%!”

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings’ horses,
And all the kings’ men.
Had scrambled eggs,
For breakfast again.

Hey diddle, diddle, the cat took a piddle,
All over the bedside clock.
The little dog laughed to see such fun.
Then died of electric shock.

Georgie Porgy, pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry.
And when the boys came out to play,
He kissed them too ‘cause he was gay.

There was a little girl who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good, she was very, very good.
But when she was bad........
She got a fur coat, jewels, a waterfront condo, and a sports car.

WAR: Weekly Activity Report

As anyone who ever served in the US military will tell you, one of the most irritating things everyone is required to do is file a report at the end of each week. Appropriately, it is call a Weekly Activity Report (WAR). Within the WAR, you are required to list all (1) accomplishments, (2) problems encountered, (3) work in progress, and (4) goals for the coming week. These reports are then gathered together and submitted to the commanding officers to enable them to get a “big picture” view of how things are going down in the trenches.

Now, the US mainstream media (MSM) is performing an outstanding job of telling you about all the deaths (including body counts), bombings, firefights, downed helicopters, etc. in Iraq. They do this to feed the anger of the Angry Left in the US. However, they completely ignore the accomplishments of the military in Iraq. It’s as if they are following an unwritten commandment that says “Thou shalt publish no good news from Iraq”.

Fortunately, the US military still has to file a Weekly Activity Report each week and it is publicly available on their web site. Here are excerpts from this week’s WAR from CENTCOM ....

OK, show of hands .... how many of you saw even one of these accomplishments in recent news from the mainstream media? C’mon! I know somebody must have seen Diane Sawyer or Katie Couric talking about these accomplishments, right? Are you sure you didn’t see any of this in the news? Dang! I’m shocked and can’t understand how the mainstream media could have overlooked all of this ....

Venom: In Their Own words

The liberals in our midst are constantly harassing us with the “maybe we deserved 9/11” and “why don’t we try to understand the terrorists” and most recently, Cindy Sheehan’s “Bush is a f**king liar and this war is bulls**t” lines of thought. Now, I know most of the readers here are intelligent enough to understand that all of this is pure crap invented to shuffle the blame for the current state of nihilism and destruction around the world coming from Muslim extremists. Not being privy to the Liberals’ thought processes, I cannot say for sure why they’re pushing this agenda for it is destructive of everything we all believe in.

Regardless, I think it is informative for us to ask “why are the Muslim extremists so angry at us” and “what do they want”. Personally, I think a bullet in their head would solve the whole thing and we could get on with our lives. Until then though, here is a very informative letter of intent from the Islamic Renewal Organization ....

Today, the Islamic Nation has no succession, no country, no dominance, and no land. It is taken up by the infidel and the apostate, and its people are ruled by unbelieving tyrants with positive laws and forced establishment. Its land has been divided by the infidel nations with untrue and unjustified borders which were dictated to us by the occupying infidels and [Islamic] leaders who exchanged our religion in atheism and branded our generations as slaves.

As for penetrating the enemy lines and deploying agents among different services, this is permissible as long as it causes harm to the enemy as mentioned by most scholars. It is not permissible to penetrate enemy lines to bring about peaceful coexistence, secured living, and personal interest. By commingling, the nation’s cause will be lost as it was to so many previous generations [who existed among blasphemous nations].

The inevitable obligation of our time is to follow the tradition of the messenger of God—May God’s peace and prayers be upon him—by fighting against the polytheists, apostates, and reviving this obligation and keeping firm to revive the nation’s sovereignty and enablement.

Well, there! That seems to be pretty straightforward. In a nutshell, they want the entire world under Islamic law and they disparage the Arab countries currently “posing” as Islamic rulers.  Note that they also dismiss all possibility of compromise or to even accept dhimmi status of non-Muslims.  Finally, it is very clear that the “lesser jihad” or the fighting jihad is the only acceptable means to the end and that it is an obligation, not a choice.

Under the heading of “they eat their own”, we also have a very informative piece of information from the terrorists regarding the recent kidnapping and murders of two Algerian diplomats (Muslims) in Iraq ....

“In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

Oh God, guide our aim and keep our feet firm.

Praise be to God, Who elevated Islam with His support, humiliated polytheism with His might, ordained the vicissitudes of affairs with His commandment, lured the infidels with His cunning, and destined the alteration of the days with His justice. Prayers and peace be upon the one through whose sword God raised the guiding light of Islam.

Today, Wednesday, 19 Jumada al-Thani 1426, corresponding to 27 July 2005, your brothers in the military wing of al-Qa’ida [of Jihad] Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers carried out the verdict of the legal court, which based its verdict on God’s command to kill all the polytheists, and also according to the saying of the Prophet, may God’s peace and prayers be upon him, who said, ‘Kill [Muslims] whosoever changes his faith,’ by executing the Chief of the Algerian Mission Ali Bil’arussi, and Izz al-Din Binqadi [referred to later as Balqadi], the diplomatic attache.  These are the emissaries of the State of Algeria, which rules with laws other than God’s, allied itself with the Jews and the Christians, sent those two apostates in support of the US presence in the Land of the Two Rivers, and followed in their footsteps. ‘And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them’ [Koranic verse].

We have seen the world’s reaction that has not settled yet, when we took those two apostates into custody, while no one seemed to pay attention when the crusaders arrested two innocent women in Iraq . Now having seen what the US has done to Muslims in Iraq , shedding blood, violating honor, and raping women. The states of vice speed up the pace and help the US and stand with those enemies of God. We ask, did the tyrant Arab states not boycott Israel , having claimed that Israel occupied fraternal Arab country? So, what is the reason behind the hurry to help the Jews and the Christians in their aggression against the Muslims in the Land of the Two Rivers? The sight of gold in the goldmine does not imply its precious value. The state of Algeria, the Arab Tyrants, the Western states, and the US have all come form the same hole, the hole of hellfire. Some people are calling on us to release those apostates without carrying out God’s verdict; we would like to tell them that no one can intercede to stop [the carrying out of] one of God’s laws. We can never forget what the State of Algeria has committed against the Muslims; bloodshed, killing, and destruction. We will not forget what the diplomatic attache Izz al-Din Balqadi did. He was one of those who participated in the massacres of Al-Rayis and Ibn-Talha, which they falsely attributed to the mujahidin and resulted in hundreds of Algerian Muslim victims. As a reward for his performance, sincerity and dedication to the task at hand, he [the diplomatic attache], along with a number of his aides, was promoted from the rank of lieutenant to the rank of major in the Intelligence Bureau.

We have not forgotten what the tyrant state of Algeria does today, hurting Muslims and launching the war against them, particularly the Salafi Group for the Call and Combat, may God protect them and guide their aim.

Have we not warned you, you enemies of God, not to ally yourselves with the Jews and the Christians, and stand in line with the US and follow their plots? Now, we reiterate that the Land of the Two Rivers is no longer safe for the enemies of God; rather, it is fire that will burn all those who follow blasphemy.

Praise be to God, the ones who captured the two Algerians, captured them from among the police force in the middle of Baghdad . Praise be to God, the members of the brigade that captured them managed to return safely, after God bestowed His victory and enabled them [to complete their task]. None of the members was captured. Praise and thanks be to God.

God is Great, God is Great. Glory be to God, His messenger, and the mujahidin.”

So there you have it! In their own words, posted on Islamic militant websites over the last two weeks. They have no shame, no mercy and no intent other than to kill all Jews and Christians and rule the world under Shar’ia Law. Are you starting to get the picture yet? If your Liberal friends out there still don’t get it, get them to read these madmens’ words above. There is more at US Central Command’s web site and before you (or they) start saying “it’s just military propaganda”, forget it. CENTCOM provides links to the web sites where this trash originated. The US Military didn’t make this stuff up. The terrorists have declared war on western civilization and they don’t care who knows it. They are even using the web to spread their venom. Just remember, the only way to avoid venom is to kill the damned snake carrying it. Preferably with a .45 ACP right between its nasty little eyes.

Saudis Crack Down

It may be a case of “too little too late” but the Saudis are starting to crack down on Al-Qaeda within the kingdom. What I found amusing was the term the Saudis use for the Muslim extremist group: “deviants” .... as if the murderous thugs are just misguided ....

(GUARDIAN - UK)—Saudi Arabia’s security forces killed the regional leader of al-Qaida yesterday in a gun battle in the holy city of Medina, the interior ministry reported last night. Former prison guard Salih al-Awfi, 39, was among up to six militants said to have died during a series of police swoops in Medina and the Saudi capital, Riyadh. According to a government statement, police raided six al-Qaida hideouts in Medina, near the mosque where the Prophet Muhammad was buried, before coming across a seventh house where Awfi and two others were holed up.

Saudi Arabia’s security forces killed the regional leader of al-Qaida yesterday in a gun battle in the holy city of Medina, the interior ministry reported last night.

“They [the militants] opened fire heavily on the security forces and pedestrians,” before police returned fire, the statement said. “Investigators were able to prove through verification procedures that one of the two killed is the wanted Salih al-Awfi,” it added. Officials said 10 suspected militants were arrested during the raids in Medina, where the country’s new monarch, King Abdullah, was meeting clerics and tribal leaders. In Riyadh, police raided a flat in al-Massef district early yesterday, triggering a gunfight with militants. Conflicting reports from officials put the number of dead in that raid at either two or four.

After the clashes, police entered the flat and found weapons, explosives and various documents, according to the interior ministry. “Security forces during the early morning stormed a number of places in Riyadh and Medina, where it is suspected some of those affiliated to the deviant group were hiding,” an interior ministry spokesman, General Mansour al-Turki, said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. “Deviant” is the usual Saudi term for supporters of al-Qaida.

Although 15 of the 19 hijackers responsible for the September 11 attacks came from Saudi Arabia, the kingdom was reluctant to admit that al-Qaida had a significant presence on its territory. That changed in 2003 when bomb attacks on housing compounds in the capital killed 35 people. Up to that point it also appeared that large numbers of Saudis shared al-Qaida’s general political and religious outlook.

The Saudi authorities have been trying to persuade a once-reluctant public to report suspicious activity, and the latest raids are a sign that their effort is beginning to pay off, Neil Quilliam, an analyst at the security consultants Control Risks said yesterday. “People are now more tuned in to passing on information,” he said. “The public diplomacy campaign is working quite well. “We can expect more raids in the coming months ... Each raid leads to two or three more.”

Awfi is the third head of al-Qaida to be killed in the kingdom in the past 17 months. He was originally number five on the kingdom’s most-wanted list. He was believed to be a cousin of Majed Moqed, one of hijackers aboard the plane that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11 2001. He took over leadership of the group known as “al-Qaida in the Arabian peninsula” in June last year after Abd al-Aziz al-Muqrin, the previous leader, was killed in a gun battle.

In Harm’s Way

Now they’re firing rockets and mortars at US Navy ships from Jordan. Thankfully, no sailors were injured but does anyone still doubt the Muslim extremists would kill all of us if they could ....?

AMMAN, Jordan—Unknown assailants fired at least three missiles from Jordan early Friday, with one narrowly missing a U.S. Navy ship docked at port, an attack that killed a Jordanian soldier. One missile fell close to an airport in neighboring Israel, officials said.

The U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, based in Bahrain, said two American amphibious ships were docked in Aqaba when a mortar was fired toward them. The vessels later sailed out of port as a result of the attacks, U.S. Navy spokesman Lt. Cdr. Charlie Brown told The Associated Press in Bahrain.

Jordanian soldier Ahmed Jamal Saleh was fatally wounded when the mortar sailed over one of the U.S. ships and slammed into a warehouse, a Jordanian security official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. The soldier died in the ambulance taking him to hospital; another Jordanian was also wounded, the official added.

“At approximately 8:44 a.m. local time, a suspected mortar rocket flew over the USS Ashland’s bow and impacted in a warehouse on the pier in the vicinity of the Ashland and USS Kearsage,” Brown said. “The warehouse sustained an approximate 8-foot hole in the roof of the building.” No sailors or Marines were injured in the attack, Brown said.

A Jordanian security official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media, said another missile landed near a Jordanian hospital. The attacks were believed to have been launched from a poor neighborhood on the outskirts of Aqaba, a Jordanian Red Sea port 210 miles south of the capital, Amman, officials said.
