Home-Brew

Investigators have determined the explosives used in the London bombings was TATP, which anyone can make at home with easily obtainable chemicals. Provided you don’t clap your hands around it or step on it after you mix the crap up ....

(US News) A key component in the explosives used in last week’s London bombings is triacetone triperoxide (TATP), a U.S. law enforcement official tells U.S. News. TATP is a sophisticated or “high yield” explosive that’s easily mixed at home with recipes available on the Internet.

It was used by suicide bombers in Israel and chosen as a detonator in 2001 by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid. Reid, who attempted to bomb a plane as it crossed the Atlantic Ocean, has claimed he used an Internet recipe to make his sneaker bomb. The ingredients in TATP—hydrogen peroxide obtained from local pharmacies, the paint thinner acetone, and a little hydrochloric or sulphuric acid — can be mixed to manufacture TATP, which packs the same punch as plastic explosives such as RDX.

TATP, used by terrorists in the Middle East and elsewhere, is considered so unstable that it can be set off by clapping one’s hands to detonate it or stomping on it with one’s foot and usually is used with other ingredients as a booster or detonator component.

The Smoking Gun

British authorities now have a definite link from the suicide bombers to Al-Qaeda ....

LONDON — Investigators have linked one of the suspected London suicide bombers to a group of alleged extremists arrested here last year in a foiled terrorist plot by a Pakistan-based Al Qaeda group, authorities said Wednesday.

Mohamed Sidique Khan, a 30-year-old primary school teacher, has emerged as a key figure among the four suspected bombers, European and U.S. investigators said. Although officials had said that Khan and the other three were unknown to security personnel before last week’s attack, investigators now think Khan was an associate of some of those arrested in last year’s plot.

That strengthens suspicions that the London attacks were carried out by an Al Qaeda branch that teamed Pakistani masterminds with Pakistani British operatives and had tried to strike Britain before, investigators said.

Authorities believe that Khan and the other suspects, who traveled extensively to countries including Pakistan,
Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, received training from Al Qaeda specialists. Khan may have helped recruit and prepare his fellow bombers, who, like him, were Pakistani Britons from the northern city of Leeds, investigators said.

“That’s a connection that they are following right now,” said a U.S. law enforcement official familiar with the investigation who asked not to be identified. “Khan is a pretty key individual. He’s a common denominator between the two cases.”

The Pakistani connection distinguishes the London bombings from other recent attacks in Europe, such as last year’s Madrid train bombings, which allegedly were carried out by North African networks shuttling militants between Europe and
Iraq — a battle theater dominated by a new generation of Al Qaeda figures such as Abu Musab Zarqawi.

In contrast, the London case seems to point toward the classic inner core of Al Qaeda, whose surviving leaders are thought to be hiding in the Afghan-Pakistani borderlands. The London attacks also were the first suicide bombing attacks in Western Europe.

OK, that’s all the information I need. Prepare the B-52’s. Load ‘em up with nukes. Let’s go rain down death and destruction that will glow in the dark for thousands of years on the Afghan-Pakistani border. Collateral damage? Who gives a f**k? Time to get medieval on their asses! And tell the bombers that while they’re on the way back to cruise over France and drop any leftover nukes on the Frogs. Frogs and Wogs gone at last! Happy dance! Happy dance! YAY! YAY!

The Brits Are Closing In

British police and intelligence forces raided a house in Leeds yesterday, blew up a suspected bomb and identified four Britons of Pakistani origin as the bombers who evidently blew themselves up in last Thursday’s London bombings ....

LONDON, July 12—Four young British citizens of Pakistani origin appear to have carried out last week’s bombings of the London transit system, blowing themselves up along with their victims in what would be the first suicide attacks in Western Europe, British police said Tuesday.

In a day of fast-moving developments, heavily armed police backed by army units raided six houses in and around the northern city of Leeds seeking evidence, arrested a relative of one of the suspects and carried out a controlled detonation of explosives at one of the sites.

The preliminary findings against native-born Muslims brought expressions of anguish from a prominent Islamic community leader, as well as warnings from security officials that other people involved in the plot were probably still at large and dangerous, including the presumed bombmaker behind the operation. Britain remained on its highest-ever security alert.

Investigators say they believe the men drove to the Luton train station 30 miles north of the capital early Thursday morning and boarded a train to King’s Cross station in north London. They were recorded there on closed-circuit security cameras just before 8:30 a.m.

Three of them boarded subway trains heading in different directions—one toward Liverpool Street and Aldgate, one toward Edgware Road and one toward Russell Square. Bombs blew up on those three trains within 50 seconds of one another about 8:50 a.m.

The fourth man wound up on a No. 30 double-decker bus that was diverted to nearby Euston station after the explosions shut down King’s Cross. His bomb detonated nearly an hour after the others at nearby Tavistock Square, killing at least 13 people.

In total, at least 52 people were killed and about 700 wounded.

Just A Thought ….

imageimageIt just occurred to me that most of England’s intelligence services and police resources were probably concentrated up North in Scotland to protect the current G8 conference. With masses of liberal protestors showing up to stir up trouble, cause destruction and just generally try to make asses out of themselves, the British probably had no choice but to pull all available law enforcement and intelligence forces to Scotland.

This would have left London and other areas of England seriously under-staffed during the G8 meeting. This would also have been a prime time to set off bombs with the police and intelligence personnel far away to the North. I’m not what I consider a conspiracy nut but this just fits too perfectly.

Following this thought to its logical conclusion, I have determined that the liberal protestors and activists in Scotland this week were either (a) unwitting tools of the bombers or (b) direct accomplices in the bombing attacks. Either way, they deserve some heavy jail time. Neither the British nor the US can afford to continue coddling these mangy specimens who show up at important world meetings with their long hair, naked unwashed bodies and flaming hatred. I say we take back the rubber bullets the police have to “handle” these idiots. Give the cops some real bullets. Case closed.

What say you?

Released Gitmo Detainee One Of London’s Bombers?

I just got this link (thanks to Rat Patrol) from Northeast Intelligence Network web site (story is about halfway down page) ....

7 July 2005; 12:54 ET: Preliminary reports from a source inside the Pentagon indicate that one of the operatives involved in this morning’s bombings in London was recently released from the prison at Guantanamo.

UPDATED 10:35 PM ET: A clarification was made by the source providing this information, noting that “one of the bombers who is believed to be involved in this attack was recently released from the prison at Guantanamo, Cuba.” The source did not elaborate about how the suspect was reportedly identified so early, although suggested he was onboard bus 30 that exploded outside of the British Medical Association at 9:47 local time. We are continuing our investigation.

If this story turns out to be true, the s**t is about to hit the fan. I am personally going to start an e-mail and snail-mail campaign against every Liberal Democratic Congressman and Senator who has been crying lately about the poor prisoners in Gitmo. THERE IS A VERY GOOD REASON WHY YOU KEEP ASSHATS IN JAIL - TO KEEP THEM FROM COMMITTING MORE CRIMES, DAMMIT!

Stiff Upper Lip

Londoners are going back to work today after the attacks yesterday left 50 dead and hundreds injured. The buses and “tubes” are operational again, except for a few lines where the attacks occurred. Police are on the lookout for more bombs ....

(BBC) Many Londoners are back at work as Tubes, buses and trains slowly return to normal after Thursday’s bombings. Most Tube lines are running, but with limited services, and the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines remain shut. Buses are running and all mainline rail stations are open, although services from King’s Cross are limited. Roads and trains are quieter than usual and security alerts mean streets and stations are continually closing and reopening across the city.

Another Close Call For Rudy Giuliani

Former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, just can’t win. This morning he was in London. Only yards away from the first bomb explosion ....

(Daily Mail-UK) Former Mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani said the London terror strikes were an “eerie reminder” of 9/11 . Mr Giuliani, who led the Big Apple through the devastating attacks, said he was only yards away from the first explosion this morning, while on a visit to London.

The politician said: “They are a very eerie reminder of September 11, I was right near Liverpool (St) station when the first bombing took place, so I could hear the sirens and then kept hearing reports of different bombing, in different parts of the city.

“As we were walking through and driving through the streets of the city, it was remarkable how the people of London responded calmly and bravely.”

He said the hearts of New Yorkers would go out to Londoners.

Murderers And Cowards

With a little bit of research, I have located the web site of the jihadist organization that is claiming responsibility for today’s bombings in London. The group calls themselves Al-Qal’ah (the Fortress). Their web site is here. Unfortunately, it is all in Arabic. Any translators out there?

In London, Muslim leaders are urging their people to stay inside and hide until this blows over.

Racial profiling, be damned! From now on, within my domain, any Muslim or person of Middle Eastern descent will be considered guilty until proven innocent. I see no reason why we shouldn’t just kill them all and let Allah sort them out.

The Line In The Sand

The current tally for the IslamoFascist’s terror attack on London: 40 dead, 360 injured.

I have been in e-mail contact with several friends in the UK, checking up on everyone. So far, everyone I know is OK. All are mad as hell though, in addition to being tremendously saddened at the loss of innocent civilian lives. Ordinary people just going about their business on an ordinary day. Just like September 11, 2001.

image

Isn’t it past time to get serious with these cowardly thugs? Where do we draw the line in the sand? How many more must die before the Western countries realize we are under full-blown attack by murderous madmen? Are we going to keep talking about it and fighting amongst ourselves or are we going to band together? It’s time to circle the wagons, people .. and I include all civilized people. The savages are picking us off one by one. Their grievances don’t mean s**t to me anymore. I couldn’t care less if some raghead feels deprived or offended. All I want that raghead to do now is .... DIE! DIE, DAMN YOU!

Here in the US, the Department Of Homeland Security has just raised the threat level to ORANGE for all mass transit systems. Personally, I’m getting sick and tired of living under a cloud of fear and terror. We need to do more to take the fight to the enemy. Afghanistan and Iraq were just the start. We need to go much further before we can call ourselves safe again.

I extend my sympathies and heartfelt concern to all of our British friends. I will be praying for all the civilized people in that great country. From this day on, we need to stick together .. until the last terrorist is dead.

God save the Queen ....

London Bombed !

imageimageLONDON—Half a dozen explosions rocked the London subway and tore open a packed double-decker bus during the morning rush hour Thursday, police said. At least two people were killed and nine injured in the nearly simultaneous blasts, and officials shut down the entire underground transport network.

The explosions came a day after London was awarded the 2012 Olympics and as the G-8 summit was getting under way in Scotland. Initial reports blamed a power surge for the subway explosions, but officials were not ruling out an attack.

“There have been a number of dreadful incidents across London today,” said Home Secretary Charles Clarke, Britain’s top law enforcement officer. He said there were “terrible injuries.” A senior Israeli official said Scotland Yard told Israel minutes before the explosions that it had received warnings of possible terror attacks. Italy’s European commissioner, Franco Frattini, called the explosions a terrorist strike, the Apcom and ANSA news agencies reported.

Sir Ian Blair, London’s police chief, said he was concerned the explosions were a coordinated attack but said he wouldn’t speculate on who was responsible. He said officials had found indications of explosives at one of the sites. Bloodied and bandaged witnesses reported panicked crowds fleeing as the blast rained glass and other debris onto the street. One witness, Darren Hall, said some passengers emerging from an evacuated subway station had soot and blood on their faces. He told BBC TV that he was evacuated along with others near the major King’s Cross station and only afterward heard a blast.

Police confirmed an explosion destroyed a double-decker bus at Russell Square in central London and said they suspected a bomb caused the blast. Dow Jones Newswires reported that police said there were explosions on two other buses. A witness at the Russell Square blast said the entire top deck of that bus was destroyed. “I was on the bus in front and heard an incredible bang, I turned round and half the double decker bus was in the air,” Belinda Seabrook told Press Association, the British news agency.

She said the bus was packed with people. “It was a massive explosion and there were papers and half a bus flying through the air,” she said. British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who was hosting the world’s most powerful leaders at Gleneagles, Scotland, was expected to make a statement at 7 a.m. EDT. It was not clear if the G-8 gathering focusing on climate change and aid for Africa _ but from which Iraq has largely been left off the agenda _ would have to be postponed.

Police said incidents were reported at the Aldgate station near the Liverpool Street railway terminal, Edgware Road and King’s Cross in north London, Old Street in the financial district and Russell Square in central London, near the British Museum. Bradley Anderson, a subway passenger, told Sky News that “there was some kind of explosion or something” as his train reached the Edgware Road station in northeast London.

“Everything went black and we collided into some kind of oncoming train,” Anderson said. Simon Corvett, 26, who was on an eastbound train from Edgware Road station, said: “All of sudden there was this massive huge bang.”

“It was absolutely deafening and all the windows shattered,” he said. “There were just loads of people screaming and the carriages filled with smoke. “You could see the carriage opposite was completely gutted,” he said. “There were some people in real trouble.”

London’s cell phone network was working after the explosions but was overloaded and spotty, limiting communication. The explosions sent stocks plummeting in Europe, with several of the major indexes down 3 percent.

The UK Guardian is live blogging.

The BBC is also talking to survivors.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair vows “Terrorists won’t win”.
