KABUL, Afghanistan — Gunmen opened fire Friday at a ceremony in Afghanistan’s capital attended by prominent political leaders, killing at least 29 people and wounding dozens more before the two attackers were slain by police, officials said.
The Taliban denied they were behind the attack, which came less than a week after the U.S. and the group signed an ambitious peace deal that lays out a path for the withdrawal of American forces from the country.
While no one has claimed responsibility for the bloodshed, Afghanistan’s upstart Islamic State affiliate has declared war on the country’s minority Shiites. Many of those at the ceremony were Shiites because it was commemorating the 1995 slaying of Abdul Ali Mazari, the leader of Afghanistan’s ethnic Hazaras, who are mostly Shiite.
There were conflicting accounts of the number of casualties in the attack in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood of Kabul. The Health Ministry reported 32 people were killed and 58 were wounded, while the Interior Ministry reported 29 dead and 61 wounded. There was no immediate explanation for the discrepancy.
Opposition leader Abdullah Abdullah, who is the country’s chief executive and was a top contender in last year’s presidential election, was among several prominent political officials who attended the ceremony but left before the attack and were unhurt.
Several TV journalists were covering the ceremony inside an walled compound when the gunmen began shooting, and a reporter and a cameraman for a local broadcaster were among the wounded.
Karim Khalili, the chief of Afghanistan’s high peace council, was delivering a speech when the gunfire interrupted him. He was not hurt and later went on TV to denounce the violence.
The treaty the US signed with the Taliban didn’t last 48 hours before they started shelling again, killing at least 11 locals in the bombardment.
Get the Hell out of this place, send any and all of their refugees here back there, and never let any of them into our country ever again. No trade, no financial aid. We don’t need any more feral psychotic savages. We have enough of our own.

Comedian favored to win Guatemalan presidency with politicians in disrepute
A former TV comedian with no experience in government is poised to win Guatemala’s presidential election on Sunday after a corruption scandal toppled the country’s last leader and fueled voter outrage with the political establishment.
Playing up his outsider status and promising clean government, 46-year-old Jimmy Morales has surged in opinion polls since a probe into a multi-million dollar customs racket led to the resignation and arrest of President Otto Perez.
Voter surveys show Morales is set to easily win Sunday’s run-off vote against former first lady Sandra Torres, who also vows to tackle corruption but is seen by many voters as part of the old political order.
As polling stations opened, many voters said they saw in the comedian an opportunity for a fresh start, and an end to the tainted political dealings that sparked nationwide protests and the eventual ouster of Perez last month.
“We’re tired of Guatemala’s old-style politics ... the wholesale robbery of Guatemala,” said 47-year-old small business owner Alejandro Cruz, after casting his vote in Guatemala City. “I voted for Jimmy Morales. I do think he will be victorious, and that today will be a historic day.”
Guess they’d better brush up on their banana (republic) jokes.

Federal officials were scrambling at the weekend to provide medical and other supplies to an emergency shelter in Arizona to help house a surge of illegal child immigrants into the country that President Barack Obama has called “an urgent humanitarian situation”.
More than 750 children from Central America spent the weekend in an unused warehouse in Nogales, Arizona, which the border patrol agency has turned into a temporary “way-station” for the children, a state official said.
The improvised shelter is one of the by-products of a jump in illegal immigration from Central America this year, including 47,000 children who entered the country on their own – almost double the number from the year before.
The difficulties in coping with such large numbers of unaccompanied children are stoking the already tortuous debates about reforming the country’s immigration system.
Jan Brewer, the conservative Republican governor of Arizona, described the conditions at the shelter in Nogales as “dire”. She urged people to ask the Obama administration “the reason for this massive influx of illegal crossings and the cost to taxpayers for having to deal with the crisis created by the President”.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Friday she is “disturbed and outraged” after she was informed by federal officials that not only has the government been shipping illegal immigrants out of Texas and “dumping” them in her state, it has no plans to stop.
Federal officials told Brewer Friday that the practice will continue for the foreseeable future, and this weekend more than 1,000 illegal immigrant children will be “dumped” in Arizona. Adults and family units will also arrive, though Brewer was not told how many, her office said.
Reports first surfaced last week that scores of illegal immigrants in Texas were being flown, bused and then abandoned out of state in Arizona and elsewhere. After learning of the practice, Brewer sent a scathing letter to the president on Monday posing a string of questions about the policy. Brewer said Friday what little she has learned since then has made her even more concerned.
“This is a crisis of the federal government’s creation, and the fact that the border remains unsecure – now apparently intentionally - while this operation continues full-steam ahead is deplorable,” she said in a statement.
Brewer said the federal government never formally informed her administration of the practice and has never explained it.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security started flying immigrants in the country illegally to Arizona from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas last month after http://cnsnews.com/news/article/arizona-sends-supplies-warehouse-holding-700-foreign-unaccompanied-children">the number of immigrants — including more than 48,000 children traveling on their own — overwhelmed the Border Patrol there.
Immigrant families were flown from Texas, released in Arizona, and told to report to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office near where they were traveling within 15 days. ICE has said the immigrants were mostly families from Central America fleeing extreme poverty and violence.
The Homeland Security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because there was no authorization to discuss the matter publicly, said the holding center opened for unaccompanied migrant children because the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services had nowhere to turn.
“They became so overwhelmed and haven’t kept up with planning,” the official said.
At the holding center, vendors are being contracted to provide nutritional meals, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, meanwhile, will provide counseling services and recreational activities.
The Homeland Security official said the number of children at the warehouse was expected to double to around 1,400. The warehouse has a capacity of about 1,500.
The Arizona Daily Star reported Saturday (http://bit.ly/UlC3VD ) that Jimena Díaz, consul general of Guatemala in Phoenix, visited the center Friday and said there were about 250 children from Guatemala, with the rest coming from El Salvador and Honduras.
McALLEN - Central Americans say news reports in their countries are encouraging them to make the journey north to the United States.
A mother and child told CHANNEL 5 NEWS that the message being disseminated in their country is, “go to America with your child, you won’t be turned away.”
The woman, Nora Griselda Bercian Diaz, from Guatemala, said she endured threats from the Zetas and extortion from corrupt Mexican police. She eventually crossed the Rio Grande with her 6-year-old Delmi Griselda Paul Bercian by her side.
The woman said she wants a U.S. education for her daughter. “I want to study,” said the girl who hopes to one day become a doctor.

Bercian Diaz said they endured harassment in Tampico. She said members of the Zetas drug cartel tried to kidnap them.“They chased us to kidnap us to request for ransom,” Bercian Diaz said.
She said they barely escaped.
Bercian Diaz said they found corruption in the Mexican government.
“They were asking for 500 pesos, 600 pesos. The federals took that money from us,” she said.
She said the Mexican federal police and immigration officers asked for money to “turn the other way.”
“The immigration officers took 1,500 pesos,” Bercian Diaz said.
So, typical behavior from the scumdog bendejos south of the border, but who is disseminating this message down there?

The immigrants are mainly coming from Central America, which makes it more difficult to deport them than just sending them back to Mexico.According to the Arizona Star, one reason behind the sudden surge is a coffee fungus ["rust’] that has destroyed coffee crops and wiped out plantation jobs in Central America.
However, Wilder said the true depth of the crisis is a creation of the Obama administration.
Hundreds of unaccompanied minors who entered the United States illegally through Texas are being shipped to Nogales, Arizona, creating a problem there so serious the federal government is sending relief supplies and asking the state for vaccines, an aide to Gov. Jan Brewer said Friday.
Andrew Wilder, the governor’s communications chief, said federal officials told Brewer’s office they were moving 432 children into Arizona late Friday, with another 367 expected today and an identical number Sunday. And that is apparently just the beginning.
“More unaccompanied minors will continue to Arizona,” Wilder said.

There also are reports of increased violence in Honduras that has led to more illegal immigrants from that country.This shift in the migrants’ countries of origin has put a crimp in ICE operations, which normally involve simply shipping illegal immigrants, most of whom have come from Mexico, back to the border.
In essence, the illegal immigrants are being released on their own, with orders to report to an ICE office within 15 days of arriving at their final location.
But Wilder said the problem is the lack of border enforcement by the Obama administration.
And he said it will only get worse as new immigrants figure out they are not immediately being shipped home.
“As word continues to grow throughout other countries that America’s borders are open, if you get to our border you will be welcomed, we expect the influx that is already a crisis level ... will continue,” Wilder said. And he said the Obama administration has made no real effort to secure the border.
“If this administration would put half the effort into securing the border that it has put into this operation of transporting illegal aliens to Arizona, and other states possibly, then this crisis wouldn’t exist.”
And to make matters worse, the administration announced on Thursday that it will renew its non-deportation program for young adult illegal immigrants.
“Despite the acrimony and partisanship that now exists in Washington, almost all of us agree that a child who crossed our border illegally with a parent, or in search of a parent or a better life, was not making an adult choice to break our laws, and should be treated differently than adult law-breakers,” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said.
So now you know. Open borders. An invasion of illegals; armies of minors. Soon to drag all their relatives along behind them. Never to be deported, and forever to be supported. Because Obama said so. Plain and simple.

brits tighten belts, austerity continues as govt. throws more cash at foreign aid
Recently, the Brit Prime Minister told his country that the austerity program will last quite a long time. Things are looking up but we aren’t he says, out of the water just yet.
Well of course they aren’t out of the water yet, and of course the country will have to go steady with lady austerity.
Why?
Because it’s important that Britain spread the cash around and toss monies hither and yon and also, funds need to be found for an increase in the pay packet of politicians. Forget that for now.
Money is also needed to fund this bit of out of country lunacy. Heaven forbid more of it should be spent at home. No, gotta give it away.

comes to $48,343,500.00 USD.
UK taxpayers have picked up a £4million bill to fund Ethiopia’s own Spice Girls. ( $6,445,800.00 )
Yegna, a five-strong group, have launched a radio show and released a string of videos that aim to empower women in the African country.
But even Ethiopian critics of the project say the money is being wasted because the show reaches only a quarter of the population.
In Britain, the TaxPayers’ Alliance said the £10billion aid budget should not be squandered in this way.
Ethiopia has become one of the biggest recipients of British funds, despite being an autocratic one-party state. The new Yegna ‘entertainment brand’, established in April, is part of a £30million scheme called Girl Hub that also operates in Nigeria and Rwanda.
Nike has given 800,000 but of course, that’s a nice tax deduction.
Meanwhile ... back at the ranch .... austerity is still the name of the game. Tighten up those belts some more. The treasury needs cash.

An eight-year-old child bride has died in Yemen of internal bleeding sustained during her wedding night after being forced to marry a man five times her age, activists have claimed.
The girl, identified only as Rawan, died in the tribal area of Hardh in northwestern Yemen, which borders Saudi Arabia.
Activists are now calling for the groom, who is believed to be around 40 years old, and her family to be arrested so they can face justice in the courts.
They say arrests would help put a stop to the practice of marrying very young girls to older men in the impoverished region.
Angry Man, a blogger, posted that the man was ‘an animal who deserved to be punished severely for his crime’.
‘All those who supported such a crime should also be punished,’ he added.
The practice of marrying young girls is widespread in Yemen and has attracted the attention of international rights groups seeking to pressure the government to outlaw child marriages.
Yemen’s gripping poverty plays a role in hindering efforts to stamp out the practice, as poor families find themselves unable to say no to ‘bride-prices’ that can be hundreds of dollars for their daughters.
More than a quarter of Yemen’s females marry before age 15, according to a report in 2010 by the Social Affairs Ministry.
Tribal custom also plays a role, including the belief that a young bride can be shaped into an obedient wife, bear more children and be kept away from temptation.
In September 2010, a 12-year-old Yemeni child-bride died after struggling for three days in labour to give birth, a local human rights organisation said.
Yemen once set 15 as the minimum age for marriage, but parliament annulled that law in the 1990s, saying parents should decide when a daughter marries.

No actual sunglasses or living quarters here. Just using the phrase Peiper brought to our attention the other day generically: yet another story of international aid gone awry. If you send cash, the dictators steal it. If you send food, clothing, and medicine then the local AQ steals it. Unless you deliver your nation’s aid packages surrounded by a medium army, it seems you’re just spitting into the wind. So why bother?
Thousands of pounds of UK-funded humanitarian supplies were stolen by members of the al Shabaab Islamist group in Somalia, an annual report by the UK Department for International Development revealed on Sunday.
Members of the Shebab Islamist group have stolen £480,000 ($750,000, 550,000 euros) worth of British government-funded humanitarian materials and supplies in Somalia, it emerged on Sunday.
The theft, revealed in the fine print of the Department for International Development’s annual accounts, is likely to fuel concerns about how Britain is spending its foreign aid at a time of budget cuts at home.
The accounts describe the “theft between November 2011 and February 2012, by al-Shebab in southern Somalia, of DFID funded humanitarian materials and supplies from the offices and warehouses of partner organisations, to which DFID had provided funding to deliver projects and programmes”.
“DFID’s partners had no prior warning of the confiscations being carried out and therefore had no time to prevent the loss by relocating goods,” the report said.
The loss, out of more than £80 million of aid allocated for Somalia in 2012-2013, appears in this year’s accounts because the investigation was only completed in the past 12 months.
Britain’s aid budget is protected from the government’s austerity programme and has recently reached the United Nations target of 0.7 percent of gross national income, according to ministers.
Gerald Howarth, a lawmaker in Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservative party, said the theft raised concerns about how this money was being spent.
“There is huge public concern at the relentless increase in overseas aid. Incidents like this, where British taxpayers’ money is diverted into people fighting against us, are not acceptable,” he told the Sunday Telegraph newspaper.
A spokesman for DFID said there were always risks working in unstable countries such as Somalia, but it was doing everything it could to stop such thefts from occurring.
Ain’t that a kick in the pants? Bit of doublespeak here: nobody told DFID that the stuff was going to be snagged, so they couldn’t do anything. But hey, they’re doing everything they can to stop things like this. Yeah, because AQ, al-Shebah, and other thieves all phone in their plans in advance. Riiiight.
And while the whole UK is trying to cut expenses and run the place on an austerity budget (big joke, that, I’m sure), foreign aid is simply exempt from budget cuts. Oh that makes such good economic sense. Not. “Oh, we’ve got no money, must cut the budget.” FIRST THING CUT is foreign aid. Screw that.
Another site says the supplies weren’t even used; they were burned up. It seems a bunch of rebel types captured the warehouse, then put to the torch. So the stuff wasn’t actually stolen. Or maybe they did steal it, took it somewhere else, and then burned it. Sounds to me like Government can’t get it’s lies lined up here. Which reminds me a bit of how those poor starving Haitians set fire to several hundred tons of seeds, because they weren’t heirloom stock varieties and would only quickly grow a bumper crop to feed people this year.

Oh, isn’t it RAAAAcist to say that? Immigration is the cause of what? Crimes? Nah. Crimes are only committed by right wing unemployed white guys.
And I promise you, it will get much worse. And it’s heading our way here in the UK come next year. But you don’t want to read that all over again and I don’t blame you. So I won’t. But.
Let us visit Germany. The Fatherland. Where shock of all shocks, some folks have discovered something. Of course, they have had warnings over and over again. So have the Brits and the Swedes and in fact every country that makes up Europe, have had warnings for years. But the people who bring this on aren’t listening. The top dogs live in a rarefied world and often behind gates and guards. This whole mess can be blamed fairly on the left who almost exclusively are responsible.

Germany is experiencing what the UK can expect next year when restrictions come off the two EU lands and waves of job and benefit seekers are expected to pour across the channel.

Which has been noted more than once here and even reported on by 60 Minutes in the USA at least 30 years ago. It is nothing new for that group, they have been doing it for more than 100 years. Nothing new there. The Germans during WW2 tried to delete them and were making some progress but, well, they were interrupted by an inconvenient surrender before they could finish the vermin off.
While folks are preoccupied with the very real notion of an islamic Europe which most certainly is not beyond reality, these other scum will continue to flood the borders of what once were the more civilized and advanced countries, and with the muslims who are enthralled with the 7th century, will continue to over breed until they own the place. I suppose at some point they’ll start killing each other in a kind of Mad Max world. Which is fine except that we won’t be here to see that as it isn’t going to happen tomorrow. But it will, unless more (mostly white?) people band together and make their purpose in life a way to stop those sub groups in their tracks.

The report also chronicles the chaos caused in schools where ‘children who speak no German from Bulgaria and Romania’ are holding back the native speakers.

Crime is on the way up in the areas where the newcomers have settled - particularly prostitution.
Germany’s overall crime rate has been falling in recent years - but crimes relating to Bulgarian and Romanian criminals is on the rise.
One fast-growing category is pickpocketing. In Berlin last year robbery involving tricks - such as children asking for help while an accomplice robs the target - rose by 39 per cent. And break-ins of single-family houses, rising since 2006, increased by 32 per cent, with every 76th house affected.
Christian Pfeiffer, director of the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony in Hanover, says the eastward expansion of the European Union, with full rights of free movement, is largely to blame.
‘Romania and Bulgaria, in particular, have sophisticated crime syndicates, with training and scouting networks reaching deep into the nearest rich EU countries, Germany and Austria,’ said a recent article in the Economist. ‘Of the suspects in Berlin’s trick-robbery cases last year, 75 per cent were non-German; 31 per cent came from Romania.
We are told that us Brits are very ‘tolerant’ towards immigrants. Have you thought what that means? Tolerant means putting up with something you don’t want and you don’t like. That you would be happier if it (the thing you are ‘tolerant’ of) didn’t exist. Why are the politicians doing this to us?

Syrian terrorists have beheaded a Catholic priest who they accused of collaborating with the Assad regime. Those accusations have not yet been verified. Father Francois was summarily executed and the Vatican has confirmed the martyrdom.
VATICAN CITY (Catholic Online) - The Vatican is confirming the death by beheading of Franciscan Father, Francois Murad, who was martyred by Syrian jihadists on June 23.

On Sunday, June 23 the Syrian priest François Murad was killed in Gassanieh, in northern Syria, in the convent of the Custody of the Holy Land where he had taken refuge. This is confirmed by a statement of the Custos of the Holy Land sent to Fides Agency. The circumstances of the death are not fully understood. According to local sources, the monastery where Fr. Murad was staying was attacked by militants linked to the jihadi group Jabhat al-Nusra.

TV Is Tacky. Yeah, So?
Not sure how to respond to this one ...
The popular CBS reality show “The Amazing Race” is under fire for featuring an episode set in Hanoi, Vietnam, where contestants go to a B-52 Memorial, which is the wreckage of an American bomber plane shot down during the Vietnam War, to find the next clue in their televised round-the-world journey.
In the episode, the twisted metal of the downed plane is treated as any other prop, with a bright ‘Amazing Race’ ‘Double-U-Turn’ signed planted in front of it, signifying to contestants the next phase of their scavenger hunt.
The show also had contestants learn a song that was performed for them by children in front of a portrait of North Vietnam communist leader Ho Chi Minh, with subtitled lyrics that included “Vietnam Communist Party is glorious. The light is guiding us to victory.”
“It’s like One Direction,” one contestant said of the performance, referring to the popular boy band.
“How did it not cross the producers’ minds that this might offend the men who fought in Vietnam and the families of those who died there?” Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld said on his late night show “Red Eye.”
Fox News contributor Bob Beckel agreed later on the news program “The Five.”
“I’m so outraged by this I can’t believe it. CBS is idiotic; they’re stupid,” Beckel said. “To have people go to a memorial where Americans died, then you ought to get off the network.”
Well Bob, perhaps I disagree with you on this too, along with everything else you say. We once were at war with this country, the North part in those days, and we did bomb the daylights out of the place. And while we lost bombers, they lost probably a thousand times more people. So I’m not terribly surprised that such a memorial exists. Granted, a chunk of wreckage in the middle of the street is a tad tacky. A bit on the raw side as memorials go, even for cost-conscious commies. But in another way, it’s extremely real; here’s a chunk of enemy aircraft that maybe fell to earth right on this spot. 40 years after the war you try and see both sides. But yeah, using it as a waypoint for the racers may not have been the smartest idea, IF they didn’t pause for a few seconds to comment on what was in front of them. That war was long over by the time any of them were even born. I’m sure there was some other statue, park, or architecturally unique building that would have worked just as well.
And learning to sing a song in the difficult local language sounds like a decent little challenge. Too bad that the network allowed themselves to be played by the local political commissars. If we wanted to hear songs praising Uncle Ho, we’d listen to Jane Fonda.
So half up, half down IMO. Could’ve been done better, sure could’ve been done worse. But outrage? Not really. Or am I seeing this entirely wrong? Opine away; it’s what the comments are for!

Hugo Takes The Bit Dirt Nap
U.S. officials quickly cast Hugo Chavez’s death as an opportunity for America to rebuild a relationship with Venezuela and for the country itself to pursue “meaningful democratic reforms,” with President Obama heralding a “new chapter” in the Latin American country’s history.
Chavez, who had been battling cancer since 2011, died Tuesday after 14 years in power. An election is expected to be held in 30 days – the transition marks one of the first major challenges for newly appointed Secretary of State John Kerry.
Obama kept a measured tone in a statement released Tuesday evening.
“At this challenging time of President Hugo Chavez’s passing, the United States reaffirms its support for the Venezuelan people and its interest in developing a constructive relationship with the Venezuelan government,” Obama said. “As Venezuela begins a new chapter in its history, the United States remains committed to policies that promote democratic principles, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill were less reserved.
“Hugo Chavez was a tyrant who forced the people of Venezuela to live in fear,” Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said in a written statement. “His death dents the alliance of anti-U.S. leftist leaders in South America. Good riddance to this dictator.”
It’s just a damn shame that his people didn’t rise up and Ghaddafi him. Too bad. And I’m sure most of Hollywood is in deep mourning today, the filthy commies.

China joins U.S., Japan in condemning North Korea nuclear test [like that will make any difference]
North Korea conducted its third nuclear test on Tuesday in defiance of existing U.N. resolutions, drawing condemnation from around the world, including from its only major ally, China, which summoned the North Korean ambassador to protest.
The reclusive North said the test was an act of self-defense against “U.S. hostility” and threatened further, stronger steps if necessary.
It said the test had “greater explosive force” than the 2006 and 2009 tests. Its KCNA news agency said it had used a “miniaturized” and lighter nuclear device, indicating that it had again used plutonium which is more suitable for use as a missile warhead.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the third of his line to rule the country, has presided over two long-range rocket launches and a nuclear test during his first year in power, pursuing policies that have propelled his impoverished and malnourished country closer to becoming a nuclear weapons power.
China, which has shown signs of increasing exasperation with the recent bellicose tone of its neighbor, summoned the North Korean ambassador in Beijing and protested sternly, the Foreign Ministry said.
Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said China was “strongly dissatisfied and resolutely opposed” to the test and urged North Korea to “stop any rhetoric or acts that could worsen situations and return to the right course of dialogue and consultation as soon as possible”.
China is a permanent member of the Security Council.
U.S. President Barack Obama labeled the test a “highly provocative act” that hurt regional stability and pressed for new sanctions.
Oooooh, more sanctions! Sure. The only “sanction” that will work is to cut this rogue nation off from the rest of the planet. Nothing gets in, nothing gets out. No fuel, no food, no medicine, no technology. Let them eat dirt. Um, I mean let them eat more dirt. That’s the easy way. The hard way is to nuke them or invade them. Pardon the pun, but those solutions have too much fallout to make it worthwhile. So send them a really strongly worded letter:
Dear North Korea:
Die.
Signed,
The Whole World
and then make it stick.
With any luck, Iran might get the message too.

If there were no such thing as religion, this sub species would still exist and thrive. As a favor to humanity and to insure a (somewhat) more civilized world order, the western powers should all come together (after the libtards have been eliminated in an operation we could name, lets see. Got it. The Week of the Long Knives.) After that we mass nuke the area this sub species originate from. Those in areas outside radiation zone to be immediately sterilized.
Then tackle the Roma problem. click, delete.
End all foreign aid. Dump the UN.
Afghanistan: teenage girl killed by spurned suitors
A 15-year-old girl had her throat cut after her father refused a marriage proposal from relatives, police have said.

The girl, Geesa, was attacked earlier this week by two men from the spurned family as she went to collect water from a stream in her village in northern Afghanistan.
The attack came after her father, Mohammad Rahim, had turned down a marriage offer for the girl, saying she was too young to be engaged.
“At this stage it looks like they wanted to marry her and the father refused, so they killed her,” said Syed Sarwar Hosseini, police spokesman for Kunduz province.
Two men, named as Massoud and Sadeq, have been arrested on suspicion of the murder, in Kulkul village of Imam Sahib district, he said. The two men were relatives of Geesa and lived in the same village.
The provincial director of women’s affairs said the province had been hit by a wave of violence against women.
Nadira Giah said 11 girls and women had been killed this year, up fivefold from last year.
In January, a young woman was reportedly murdered in the province by her husband and her mother-in-law for giving birth to a daughter. The 22-year-old woman called Stori was strangled after giving birth to a third daughter, when her husband wanted a son.

a world of difference between us that will never close
Found in the letters page of yesterdays paper.
This is one good letter and it really does say a lot about the difference between us and the rop.
BRAVING the Pembrokeshire drizzle, I joined my family and a few neighbours in the garden the other afternoon where we lashed ourselves into a mass-induced hysterical frenzy before setting fire to a home made American flag.
Nobody was quite sure why we’d become so spontaneously enraged but apparently someone, somewhere, is supposed to have said something or other which called for an immediate outpouring of wild eyed, spittle-flecked ranting and mindless violence.
We certainly didn’t need to be asked twice, even though Roger and Krystyna from number 22 had only called round to give us some of their windfall Bramley apples.
The downside to our little protest get-together was when my wife, enthusiastically stamping on the still blazing remnants of the petrol soaked stars and stripes, ignited her fluffy slippers and suffered a singed bunion.
Nevertheless, we look forward to soon being offended again so we can have a tenuous excuse to behave appallingly and give vent to our blind fury.
It’s certainly easier than expressing an opinion in a calm and dignified manner.

They are lice ridden filth who live and eat in dirt and will never do anything to raise above where they’ve been for the last thousand years. Even the few who have managed to live in the west have not advanced things but brought their plague with them.
There needs to be a final solution to the rop problem, and it must be carried out with Nazi like efficiency. Anything short of that and the west is lost.
That’s how serious the infestation is. Does anyone actually believe this can be reasoned with? They are cucarachas.
