Obama’s Priorities?

Let’s not secure the borders and make America safe from hostile invaders. Let’s make the desert scrub safe for a tortoise while we persecute a family who has ranched here since the 1870s.

The Latest Obamacare Major Fail

Remember when the big push was on to pass Obamacare? Remember how Fearless Reader, our great pResident, gave us lectures nearly every single day for a year and a half about how we really had to have this thing? Remember those “43 million Americans without health insurance”?

Well, Obamacare passed, and while the rollout was kind of buggy, we’re told how 7 or 8 million people signed up. Awesome. Some of them even paid the bill. Super. We’re not told much how another 15 or 20 million lost their existing coverage and had to find some new policy at double the price. And hardly anybody is doing the math. Math so simply that even Common Core can’t hide it: 43 million minus 7 million leaves 36 million. 36 million people, without insurance. Nearly 84% of the poor wretched masses that this hideous behemoth was supposed to take care of. And now, since the Open Enrollment period is over, those people CAN’T BUY INSURANCE. Period. None for sale. Oh sure, in theory there are these short term interim policies. Try to buy one. Try to buy one if you haven’t had a “qualifying life event”. You can’t. If you don’t have health insurance right now, you can’t get any. At all. Not until next year. So the real best case bottom line is that 5 times as many people can not become insured right now if they wanted to, than the number of people who Obamacare did manage to get insured. 5 to 1. Loserama.

Before Obamacare, any one of those 43 million folks could buy health insurance whenever they wanted, as long as they paid the bill. I’d call this a major FAIL. A mega-fail. How many billion did this cost us??

Latest ObamaCare surprise: Most won’t be able to buy health insurance until end of year

There is yet another ObamaCare surprise waiting for consumers: from now until the next open enrollment at the end of this year, most people will simply not be able to buy any health insurance at all, even outside the exchanges.

“It’s all closed down. You cannot buy a policy that is a qualified policy for the purpose of the ACA (the Affordable Care Act) until next year on January 1,” says John DiVito, president of Flexbenefit which has 2,500 brokers.

John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas adds, “People are not going to be able to buy individual and family policies, and that’s part of ObamaCare. And what makes it so surprising is the whole point of ObamaCare was to encourage people to get insurance, and now the market has been completely closed down for the next seven months.”

That means that with few exceptions, tens of millions of people will be locked out of the health insurance market for the rest of this year.

Only about one in four subsidy-eligible people signed up for health insurance,” says Robert Laszewski of Health Policy Associates. “That means about 13 million subsidy-eligible people have not yet signed up for health insurance.”

13 million of them, and probably 23 million others who aren’t subsidy-eligible. What a crock.

Is USA now the PLO?

SOS Kerry: Trade Izzy Spy Pollard For Hundreds Of Pali Terrorists

WTF? Isn’t this kind of “Muslim Outreach” now NASA’s job?

Officials involved in the fraught Israeli-Palestinian peace talks said on Tuesday that an agreement was near on extending the negotiations through 2015 in exchange for the release of Jonathan J. Pollard, an American serving a life sentence for spying for Israel. The agreement would also include the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including citizens of Israel, and a partial freeze on construction in West Bank settlements.

Secretary of State John Kerry and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel hammered out details of the emerging deal in meetings here that began Monday night and continued early on Tuesday. The agreement was awaiting approval from the White House regarding Mr. Pollard as well as from President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority.

The Obama Regime is no friend of Israel. Never was, never will be.

The senior official said the terms of the developing agreement would be for Mr. Pollard, a former Navy intelligence analyst convicted of espionage more than a quarter century ago, to be released before Passover, which begins the evening of April 14. Israel would free a fourth batch of long-serving Palestinian prisoners as promised at the start of the talks, as well as 400 other prisoners, many of them women and children, who were not convicted of murder.

Among the prisoners would be 14 Arab-Israelis, whose release is deeply controversial in Israel and could cause a crisis in its governing coalition, with some ministers threatening to quit if they are freed.

Israel would also agree to show “restraint” in building in its West Bank settlements, which most of the world views as illegal.

Right. So let the ordinary, run of the mill, criminals go. The robbers, rapists, arsonists, thieves, extortionists, and pimps. They didn’t kill anybody - oh wait, sorry, they weren’t convicted of killing anyone - so let them out. And back out of the West Bank once again.

Wrong. Just so wrong. A stalwart America would be sending concrete and rebar to Israel by the shipload. Build, baby, build. Because we’d never even think of the West Bank as Occupied Territory. Which is isn’t. It’s part of Israel now, and has been for 40+ years. And there is no Right of Return either.

But part of Oblunder’s Fundamental Change is weakening the nation and dissing our old allies.

And Pollard? Come on. If the government didn’t have the balls to put him up against the wall at the time, or in the chair like it did the Rosenbergs, then after all this time they might as well deport him. He’s been in jail since 1987. 26 years. That’s nearly 3 life sentence jail terms in the UK. Let him go ... but his release isn’t worth that of a small army of paleo-swine-ians. No, not even one.

wort wort wort??

Hey EPA: Get Your Nose Out Of The Beer Bucket

Beer brewers are objecting to a proposed federal rule that would make it harder for breweries to sell leftover grains as animal feed instead of throwing them away.

The Food and Drug Administration rule change would mean brewers would have to meet the same standards as livestock and pet-food manufacturers, imposing new sanitary handling procedures, record keeping and other food safety processes on brewers.

Beer makers complain that the new rules, if adopted, would force them to dump millions of tons of “spent grains,” which are left over after barley, wheat and other grains are steeped in hot water.

Bear Republic brewmaster Rich Norgrove says the rules would be costly and force brewers to dump the grains, instead of the more sustainable practice of feeding them to livestock.

The Northern California brewery sells its spent grain to local ranches, which use it as an affordable food source for about 300 head of cattle, according to The Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

“Now the government wants to get involved,” Cheryl LaFranchi, a Knight’s Valley rancher, said. “What are they going to do with it? Put it in a landfill?”

The FDA says the rules stem from a new, broad modernization of the food safety system.

“ a new, broad modernization of the food safety system”??? Sounds like doublespeak for “a vast expansion of the powers of an unchecked, unelected, out of control bureaucracy”.

Feeding the leftover mash to the animals is as old as time. Nearly. I’m pretty sure the ancient Egyptians just drank the stuff whole, or cooked up the dregs into some kind of flatbread. Come on, that was so long ago they hadn’t even invented yeast yet. For bread anyway. Whatever. Once the wort comes out, the leftover mash is one of the “slops” used to slop the hogs ... it’s sterile, low sugar, cooked carbohydrates. Grains and maltings. Heck, you can make the stuff into bread yourself. Or waffles. Or cookies.

And honestly, I’d be pretty amazed if the beer brewers, who by their very nature are seriously into sanitary processes, just poured the dregs out onto the dung heap until the cattlemen came by. Get real.

Chris Thorne of the Beer Institute said he believes once the FDA has all of the information, it will see the benefits of the current system of recycling the old grain.

“This regulation is onerous and expensive, but really it’s just unnecessary. There has never been a single reported negative incidence with spent grain,” Thorne said in a statement.

The Colorado-based Brewers Association issued a statement last week calling proposal an “unwarranted burden for all brewers.”

Golly gee. Imagine that. A branch of the Obama regime going out of its way to make unnecessary regulations that would negatively impact smaller businesses. Who would have ever thought such a thing could happen?

Oops We Was Wrong

Hotel Workers Union: Obamacare Will Cost Us $5/hour

Well, gosh. Really? You mean even medium low wage folks are going to have to pay through the nose? You don’t say!

The 300,000-member union that was the first to endorse then-Senator Barack Obama has released a devastating Obamacare report that says Obama’s controversial healthcare program will slash worker wages by up to $5 an hour, reduce worker hours, and exacerbate income inequality.

The report by Unite Here--a North American labor union that represents workers in the hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, and airport industries--is titled: “The Irony of ObamaCare: Making Inequality Worse.”

“Ironically, the Administration’s own signature healthcare victory poses one of the most immediate challenges to redressing inequality,” states the 12-page report. “We take seriously the promise that ‘if you like your health plan, you can keep it. Period.’ UNITE HERE members like their health plans.”

Sounds like the Kool-Aide has almost worn off. Quick, mix up another batch and dose them again!

Last week, Unite Here Donald Taylor discussed the possibility of a union worker strike over Obamacare and said, “Even though the president and Congress promised we could keep our health plan, the reality is, unless the law is fixed, that won’t be true.”
...
Union members are not alone in opposing Obamacare. According to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls, just 38% of Americans now support Obamacare.

Long before the hackneyed expression “You’ve got to pass this bill before you can read it” existed, there was another expression with a bit more common sense: “never buy a pig in a poke.” Guess these modern kids don’t know what a poke is. Maybe they thought this whole thing was a gift horse.

No thanks, not this little piggy.

It’s Because She’s A Stupid Snowbillie

Palin Called Ukraine 6 Years Ago

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is saying “I told you so” following reports of a potential Russian “military invasion” in Ukraine.

Though she was mocked for it, Palin actually speculated in 2008 that Russian President Vladimir Putin would be encouraged to invade Ukraine after President Barack Obama’s weak response to the nation invading Georgia.

“After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next,” Palin told Foreign Policy in 2008, “

I saw our Mighty Leader on TV talking about Ukraine. Wanna know what he’s gonna do? It’s simple math: Jack Shit divided by Diddly Squat.  Putin, The Man, will do whatever he wants in the Western Crimean. Obama, The Vapid Little Girl, will make noises for a couple of days, then spin a couple of lies, then find some Republicans to blame it on, then change the subject.

And if Putin wants to solve the Ukrainian situation by gunning down thousands, he’ll do it, and get away with it.

Russian troops moved into Crimea Friday, U.S. officials told Fox News, prompting Ukraine to accuse Russia of an “armed invasion.”

At the White House, President Obama said the U.S. government is “deeply concerned” by reports of Russian “military movements” and warned any violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty would be “deeply destabilizing.”

“There will be costs” for any military intervention, he said, without specifying what those costs might be.

U.S. officials told Fox News they see “evidence of air and maritime movement into and out of Crimea by Russian forces” although the Pentagon declined to officially “characterize” the movement.

Agence France Press quoted a top Ukranian official as saying Russian aircraft carrying nearly 2,000 suspected troops have landed at a military air base near the regional capital of the restive Crimean peninsula.

“Thirteen Russian aircraft landed at the airport of Gvardeyskoye (near Simferopol) with 150 people in each one,” Sergiy Kunitsyn, the Ukrainian president’s special representative in Crimea, told the local ATR television channel, according to AFP. He accused Russia of an “armed invasion.”

Isn’t This Where We Came In?

Obama Wants $300+$600=$900 BILLION To Fix Infastructure

Wants To Repair And Update Roads And Railways

Will Create Thousands Of “Shovel Ready” Jobs?

image

Please tell me he isn’t going to try and call this a stimulus bill. Again.

[ Feb 12 2014 ] President Barack Obama is asking Congress for $300 billion to update the nation’s roads and railways.

Obama plans to make the proposal Wednesday at the Union Depot rail and bus station in St. Paul, Minn.

The Highway Trust Fund finances federal highway and transit programs but is forecast to go broke as early as August.

The fund needs $100 billion over the next six years just to maintain current spending levels. But Obama and Congress don’t want to raise gas taxes to make up the gap.

Obama is proposing that half the $302 billion he’s proposing come from an overhaul of corporate taxes, but he says he’s open to other ideas.

He also plans to announce a $600 million competition for federal grants to fund infrastructure projects that create jobs.

image

Yup, that’s the one. Teh Won! Tens of thousands of “Shovel Ready Jobs” were going to be “created or saved”, right? Rebuild America, right? So we gave him $1.7 TRILLION and suddenly damn near all the money went to Solyndra and other BS pocket liner “green” fail-projects run by his main campaign contributors ... NOW stepped in and said all those workman jobs were sexist ... all the other jackals in DC swooped in with their knives ... and I think we wound up with one or two trucks full of asphalt patching holes somewhere in the boonies of Idaho?
And all that stimulus was going to keep unemployment waaay down, and kick-start the economy, and all things wonderful? After all, Chicago Jesus promised us “This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.” right? So let’s do it again.

angry women can be downright scary people. and mrs o. looks like, if looks could kill

Wow ... who’d a thought?  Ah .. right. You folks probably.

Actually, I am somewhat surprised if it’s all true.  Hey, silly me.  I was shocked at the revelations concerning President Kennedy’s affairs while in the large white bldg in DC.  I think what always catches me off guard, is a bit of naivety on my part for the following reason.

I seem to think (too often it appears) that since the Kennedy stories which continue even in these days, and was brought up in a paper here only this week, I naively think that a serving president would be very much aware of the press. Most especially the more sensational types.  I’d have thought Obama might take a look back at Clinton, who had less to lose in a way.  By which I mean, Michelle hasn’t shown near as I can tell, any desire for high public office, so she could have less to lose than say Mrs. Clinton who was very much a political animal.  So anyway, I foolishly think ppl in those positions are looking over their shoulders all the time and making the cautious decision to behave least they end up exposed and embarrassed.
I am wrong every time and surprised every time because I suppose I have discounted or not counted in any way, for human nature.
Clinton sure didn’t appear to be embarrassed by his exposure.

It appears that this story is now out in the open true or not, in the USA.  How could it not be?
But I’m curious to know if this angry looking Mrs. O. is making the rounds there as well.

Is the Obama marriage on the rocks? Astonishing claims emerge of ugly fights over that selfie, and even a Presidential affair

Michelle Obama alleged to have discovered her husband has been unfaithful

Reports claim they will separate at the end of his presidency in 2016

Follows claims in two books that couple neared divorce in early 2000’s

By Tom Leonard

With invitations warning guests to ‘EBYC’ — Eat Before You Come — and rumours they’ll be dancing to star turns from Beyonce and her rapper husband Jay Z, it won’t be your usual White House knees-up.

Michelle Obama was 50 yesterday and President Barack Obama will be feting his redoubtable First Lady tonight with a party that will give them the chance to let their hair down and forget their troubles for a few hours.

The email inviting guests to the ‘snacks & sips & dancing & dessert’ advised them to wear comfortable shoes and practise their dance moves.

Purse-lipped Washington etiquette experts have tutted at the informality of it all, but the Obamas have always been keen to appear accessible, even if the stand-offish reality is somewhat different.

The Obamas are the world’s most scrutinised couple at the best of times, but it will be rare to find a guest at the bash who won’t be secretly watching them with particular interest.

After all, the last time they were pictured together — at Nelson Mandela’s memorial — the First Lady was looking none too pleased as the her husband posed for a ‘selfie’ photograph with the leggy blonde Danish Prime Minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

Indeed, if the U.S. tabloids are to be believed, the relationship of Washington’s golden couple is facing problems that go far beyond dirty looks.

Under the headline Obama Divorce Bombshell!, the National Enquirer claims their 21-year marriage has dissolved in a string of ugly fights that were prompted by the Mandela memorial incident and — far more outrageously — Mrs Obama’s discovery that Secret Service bodyguards had been covering up infidelity on her husband’s part.

It’s an allegation the White House has declined to comment on, though after Bill Clinton’s trouser-dropping scandals, Americans would be rather less sanguine about any extra-marital activity than the French appear to be over President Francois Hollande’s behaviour.

Mrs Obama, the Enquirer claims, intends to stand by her husband until his presidency is over, at which time he will move back to Hawaii, where he grew up, and she will stay in Washington with their children.

For the moment, they are allegedly sleeping in separate bedrooms after Mr Obama’s attempt to ‘mend fences’ backfired so badly on a recent Christmas getaway to Hawaii that he returned to Washington with their two daughters, leaving his wife behind.

The National Enquirer, it must be said, quoted only anonymous insiders in support of these sensational claims, and is hardly the most reliable source of hard news.

Obama advisers are certainly not talking as if there is any scandal in the offing. Washington’s media has ignored the story.

But everyone remembers how the Enquirer famously got it right when it claimed the supposedly squeaky clean Democrat presidential contender John Edwards had fathered a love child by a former campaign worker.

Thin as its story may seem at the moment, might it be on to something again?

‘There was little conversation and even less romance. She was angry at his selfishness and careerism; he thought she was cold and ungrateful’

Riddle Me This

A bit of confusion on my part here ... noticed a story that’s news this weekend that seemed to be news more than 2 years ago. What gives?

Gosh golly, those darned minority students. They seem to get in far more trouble in school than their raw numbers would imply.

So to fix this, DOJ boss Eric Holder and DOE boss Arne Duncan have a solution ... it seems they want the rules applied more leniently to those special kids. It couldn’t possibly be that those feral rodents are disprespectful violent problem kids, it has to be the system. Because racist!!

[Jan 8 2014] Holder’s New School Discipline Guidelines: Stop Targeting Minorities

The Obama administration is urging schools to abandon overly zealous discipline policies that civil rights advocates have long said lead to a school-to-prison pipeline that discriminates against minority students.

The wide-ranging series of guidelines issued Wednesday in essence tells schools that they must adhere to the principle of fairness and equity in student discipline or face strong action if they don’t. The American Civil Liberties Union called the recommendations “ground-breaking.”

“A routine school disciplinary infraction should land a student in the principal’s office, not in a police precinct,” Attorney General Eric Holder said.

Holder said the problem often stems from well intentioned “zero-tolerance” policies that too often inject the criminal justice system into the resolution of problems. Zero tolerance policies, a tool that became popular in the 1990s, often spell out uniform and swift punishment for offenses such as truancy, smoking or carrying a weapon. Violators can lose classroom time or become saddled with a criminal record.

[Jan 8 2014] Obama administration takes aim at cutting racial disparity in school discipline

The Obama administration Wednesday issued new guidelines on classroom discipline, seeking to end the apparent disparities in how students of different races are punished for violating school rules.

Attorney General Eric Holder said the recommendations were meant to protect the civil rights of students, and disrupt the so-called “school-to-prison pipeline.”
...
Holder was joined by Education Secretary Arne Duncan as he visited Baltimore’s Frederick Douglass High School.

Ok fine. Well, not fine. This is typical, absolute racism on part of this administration. There is not one word in here about dumping the whole idiotic Zero Tolerance crap thing. No, just don’t bother when the perps are black. Keep arresting those 6 year old white boys who eat their peanut butter sandwiches into machine guns. Right. Come on, did you really expect anything different? From Eric “my people” Holder? And from Obama, The Great Divider? The only amazing thing here is that Arne Duncan is white. Oh wait ... he ran the Chicago Public School system prior to coming to DC. uh hyuh, never mind. So this is just another case of “rewarding my friends and punishing my enemies”.

So what’s my problem?

Well, wasn’t this news 30 months or so ago?

[Feb 27 2012] Holder targets school discipline practices: ‘unacceptable,’ ‘destructive’

“We’ve often seen that students of color, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and students with special needs are disproportionately likely to be suspended or expelled,” Holder said in Atlanta, Ga.

“This is, quite simply, unacceptable. … These unnecessary and destructive policies must be changed,” Holder said at the meeting, which was hosted by 100 Black Men of Atlanta Inc.

Holder attributed his claim of racial disparity in school discipline to a 2011 study that he said showed “83 percent of African American male students and 74 percent of Hispanic male students ended up in trouble and suspended for some period of time.”

However, Holder’s speech ignored the report’s conclusion that 59 percent of white males are also disciplined. He ignored other data suggesting that the different discipline rates roughly align with actual schoolyard behavior.

...

Holder’s speech reflects a growing demand by government-funded professionals for federal government intervention to ensure that school officials discipline students in each racial or ethnic group at roughly the same rates, without regard to classroom behavior.

[Summer 2012] Undisciplined: The Obama administration undermines classroom order in pursuit of phantom racism.
In March 2010, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced that his department was “going to reinvigorate civil rights enforcement.”
...
Black elementary and high school students are disciplined at a higher rate than whites are. To Duncan, that disparity can mean only one thing: schools are discriminating.

And so the Departments of Education and Justice have launched a campaign against disproportionate minority discipline rates, which show up in virtually every school district with significant numbers of black and Hispanic students. The possibility that students’ behavior, not educators’ racism, drives those rates lies outside the Obama administration’s conceptual universe.
...
This past March, Duncan released some newly gathered national discipline data. The “undeniable truth,” he said, was that the “everyday educational experience for many students of color violates the principle of equity.”

Principles of Equity?? “Behavioral psychologist John Stacey Adams originally developed equity theory in 1963. Adams’ theory states that, when people feel they are being treated fairly, they are more likely to be motivated to do good work; when they feel unfairly treated, they may not only be demotivated but actually may become purposely disruptive.

Funny, this sounds more like the illogical “Equal Rights means Equal Results” nonsense that the Left inhales. I don’t think equity or inequity has anything to do with it. Break the rules; expect punishment. Period.

But why is this new news again? Did it take these schlumps 30 months to figure out what they wanted to say on a press release??

You Worthless SOB

Can’t blame Bush for this. Not one single bit. This is ALL Obama’s fault. Him, his failed policies, his naive Secretaries of State, his absurd Middle East stance, his anti-military stance, and his continued purge of the upper echelons of the branches of the military.  It’s all coming together, and what we’re now seeing in Fallujah and other parts of that rebuilt country is no accident. Expect similar results around the globe ... because, hey, at this point, what difference does it make?

Americans Who Fought in Fallujah Watch al Qaeda Make Comeback

So you have any idea how sickening this is to write?

Our President, the “Leader of the Free World”, allowed this to happen. If it isn’t his idea, his deliberate doing, then it’s at least his fault. Because he knew, and did nothing. The worthless shitmouth.

Inside the ancient city, just 43 miles from Baghdad, Iraqis are once again braced for a siege and say security has declined precipitously over the past year. On Thursday, Iraqi interior ministry officials declared that half of the city was occupied by a brutal wing of al Qaeda called the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

What little peace this city has seen in the past decade came at the expense of dozens of American Marines who fought al Qaeda-backed insurgents in two battles in 2004. They finally eliminated the al Qaeda forces in a house by house, alleyway by alleyway battle in which Marines had to contend with booby traps, roadside bombs and insurgents who fought with near suicidal determination.

“No one expected the level of ferocity we encountered in Fallujah,” said Maj. Charleston Malkemus, a member of the Marines’ First Batallion, the first division deployed to the city. “Insurgents and al Qaeda fighters flocked to the city and inserted themselves to take control, similar to what’s going on now.”

The second battle of Fallujah fought in the final months of 2004 was the greatest urban military operation involving U.S. troops since the battle for Hue City, Vietnam, in 1968.

By one estimate 36,000 of the city’s 50,000 homes in Fallujah were laid to waste. More than 2,000 insurgents are believed to have been killed in the fighting, as were nearly 100 American troops.

Al Qaeda was routed from the city, but they have returned in force according to officials, leaving some Americans to wonder whether too many died in vain.

“It was all for naught,” said Ross Ducati, a former Marine who fought in the second battle for the city and has since become an outspoken critic of U.S. intervention in Iraq. “Americans fought and died there—my friends died there—for the purposes of regime change and furthering business interests friendly to the Bush administration… [Now] Iraqis will die there to further the interests of [Prime Minister Nouri] al-Maliki’s government.”

I understand brother, and I really wish there was a higher purpose involved. It’s all pretty sickening.

The security situation in Iraq has deteriorated in the past year. According to the U.N., 7,818 people were killed in 2013, the highest number in years.

Much of the recent sectarian violence has taken place in Anbar province, where Fallujah is located. Prime Minister Maliki’s Shiite-controlled government has tried to contain the violence in the province, a majority Sunni region.

Against the backdrop of al Qaeda backed militias launching attacks on police statements and military bases, the government has also cracked down on peaceful Sunni protests and sit-ins and dismantled Sunni militias, including those unaffiliated with al Qaeda.

Right. The locals form militias because a) they feel their local safety is not ensured by the government, and b) their safety is not ensured by the government along tribal lines, and like the shithole that is Africa, the Near East will never get past tribalism and thus is damned to petty tyranny forever.

Yet somehow the wonderful, multi-partisan, democratic government that the USA installed there, and that the little mud people went out and purple fingered for, isn’t doing the job. Maybe it isn’t so representative after all. Or maybe, just like we said in 2006 or so, Iraq ( just like every other country in the Middle East, post Balfour, shouldn’t be forced to exist within the lines drawn by disinterested white guys on a map somewhere. The sandbox is primitive and tribal, and always will be. The people are primitive and tribal, and always will be. Barbaric too. So no real point wasting endless blood and treasure trying to force them into a 21st century mold; given the first time in forever opportunity to write up their own constitution a few years back, they insisted on putting shit in there straight out of the fuckwad quran. So not even the best of them can see past the 7th century. I’m sorry for the American lives lost there. I’m sorry for the dickless traitor’s pretend leadership that got us to this point.

Now, since we’ll never, ever, have the balls to nuke the fuck out of this urban asshole, can we at least lay a hexagonal star of MOABS down on it? Won’t be a helluva difference either way;

   *   *
*   *   *    =    “M*”
   *   *
1/2 mile diameter circle of destruction

  M*  M*
M*  M*  M*
  M*  M*
>= 1 1/2 mile diameter circle of destruction; equal to an atomic bomb but without any radiation

Maybe a star or 2 of them. We sort of saved the city once, then we rescued it at great cost. And now, years later, it’s fallen once more to the enemy. Probably because that’s what the locals really want.
So fry them. To ashes. Because we still owe the fuckers for that bridge. So Fallujah Delenda Est. Again. Fuck it, we tried. Twice.

And if we can’t save it, then let’s turn it into dust before giving it over to Al Qaida. WTF, they’d do the same for us if they could.

Kill them all. Every last one. Squashed into tomato soup by overpressure and then roasted to a jerky-like crisp. And every building turned to small pieces of rubble. Sodom, Gommorah, Fallujah. Redefining “smote” for the 21st century.

Wait. Any of that would only happen if we had a leader at the helm. A MAN in charge.

Sorry.  We’ve only got bawak “Is it time for another vacation yet?” Obongo at the helm.

Never mind.

Obama: new executive actions on gun background checks

Crivens. Do you even need to read the article to know that this is wrong in at least 3 ways?

The Obama administration on Friday proposed two new executive actions to make it easier for states to provide mental health information to the national background check system, wading back into the gun control debate after a months-long hiatus.

Vice President Biden’s office announced the proposals Friday afternoon. Both pertain to the ability of states to provide information about the mentally ill and those seeking mental health treatment to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

One proposal would formally give permission to states to submit “the limited information necessary to help keep guns out of potentially dangerous hands,” without having to worry about the privacy provisions in a law known as HIPAA.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
