Is Anybody Listening?

Thomas Sowell from 3 days ago:

If you start from the assumption that Barack Obama wanted to advance America’s interests, this is truly an unbelievable record of failure. But what is there in Obama’s background that would justify the assumption that America’s best interests are his goal?

He has, from childhood on, been mentored by, or allied with, people hostile to the U.S. and to American values. His mentors and allies have all been very much like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, even if they were not as flamboyant.

Barack Obama has succeeded in reducing America’s military strength while our adversaries are increasing theirs, and reducing our credibility and influence with our allies. That is completely consistent with his vision of how the world ought to be, with the West taken down a peg and humbled.

We are currently at a point where we can either kill as many of the IS terrorists as possible over there — where they are bunched together and visible against a desert background — or else leave the job half done and have them come over here, where they will be hard to find and can start beheading Americans in America.

Everything in Barack Obama’s history suggests that he is going to leave the job half-done, so long as it gets the issue off the front pages and off the TV newscasts.

Read it all

Can we give him promotion, to Colonel Obvious?

A Self Obsessed Moral Coward

Rich K was right - this does deserve it’s own post.

Holy cow.

I’ve NEVER seen Bill Whittle this vituperative, this cranked out. And with good reason.

This is becoming a very simple game of Connect The Dots, perhaps because there are so darn many dots out there by now that they form solid lines and areas. And you take a small step back, and the picture spells “TRAITOR”.

better living through chemistry

Because. Science.

Sodium Hexametaphosphate - aka Calgon. Water softener that binds magnesium and calcium. Also protein emulsifying and stabilization. Surprise, you eat the stuff all the time. Removes soap and detergent build-up.

Sodium Percarbonate - the “magic” in Oxi-magic. Add water and it makes hydrogen peroxide and soda ash, which dissolves most organic stains.

TSP, the real stuff. Twice as much TSP as the DAP product, and the rest of it is sodium sesquicarbonate, which is a phosphate free TSP replacement. Fantastic grease cutter.

here’s a coupon for LemiShine. Buy the powder in Walmart for $1.99. It’s a hemihydrate of citric acid, which is almost the same thing as plain old citric acid. That white film in your dishwasher? Gone after 2 uses.

These are the things that your detergents used to have in them 50 years ago.

Most of these links are for full strength chemicals. A little goes a long way. Not for use by children. Don’t be stupid. You can safely handle all of these by hand, but be a proper homo sapiens and use a tool, aka a small plastic scoop. They aren’t food, and they sure as hell aren’t cocaine.

A tablespoon of LemiShine will help dishes sparkle, and after a couple uses you’ll notice that the stainless steel door liner is once again brilliant and free of that white crusty stuff. You can do a zillion other things with it too, including clean your cartridge brass and your coffee pot. Removes hard water scale in the bathroom too; 1/4c + 1/2c white vinegar + 12oz water in a 16oz spray bottle.

Half a teaspoon of TSP in the dishwasher will double the cleaning power of your detergent. It works in the laundry too (dissolve it in a jug of hot water, then add the water as the machine fills, then add the laundry).

A handful of sodium percarbonate - 1/4 cup - will give “Oxi power” to any cleaning solution - dishwasher, laundry, mop bucket. The stuff is a bit hard to dissolve, so stir it in to really hot water, then add that).

Sodium hexametaphosphate - aka SHMP - OMFG. Half a cup added to hot water and a jumbo load of whites will turn them brilliantly white. Same goes for tired colored clothes that get that “gray haze” look. A coffee scoop (1/8c) added to the rinse cycle will pull out soap like you can’t believe, and all the dull haze with it. Add it to the wash cycle too.

Ok, enough with the Walter White dates Heloise Homemaker stuff.

image

So, why the post about enhancing your detergents and cleaners? Because Great Lord Obama, and his Heavenly Angels of EPA (commie leftists and anti-human greenies to a patchouli sniffing wyman), are about to make things worse for you. Because they can. Because in their minds, you WANT to run right out and drop $5000 on all new household appliances that consume just that much less gas or electricity. It doesn’t matter that they’ll cost you a whole lot more. Or that they’ll work less. Or last a shorter time. No, like the EU and their vacuum cleaners, Obama and his unregulated EPA are about to drop a greasepit full of new home appliance regulations down your throat. For the good of the planet you know. And because It Takes A Village. And for your own good. Whatever. Bend Over, Here It Comes Again. You disgusting peasant.

Obama pushes green standards for everything but the kitchen sink

The Obama administration is working on new efficiency standards for seemingly every appliance but the kitchen sink.

Spurred by President Obama’s climate action plan, the Department of Energy is pumping out new standards for refrigerators, dishwashers, air conditioners, ceiling fans, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, lamps and many more appliances.

The administration says the standards will not only help the planet but also stimulate the economy by saving consumers money on their energy bills that they can spend elsewhere. [riiiight, like paying double for the new appliances and praying they’ll last long enough to save you enough to break even]

But industry groups argue the standards, which will apply to both commercial and household appliances, could slow the economy, and that the Energy Department is rushing the new rules while overestimating the savings. Other critics argue the push to regulate household appliances is evidence of a nanny state.

“They’re not taking the time to get it right,” said Steve Yurek, president and CEO of the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute. “That’s what we’re concerned about,” he said.

As evidence of the rush, critics point to how the Energy Department has already finalized new efficiency standards for seven appliances in 2014, with another three rules expected by the end of the year. That compares to two rules in 2013 and three in 2012.

The department says the rules will save consumers $49 billion by 2030. [and probably cost us how many more billion? This sounds just like all those jobs “created or saved”, remember them, as the employment numbers and the economy shrank to 1983 levels]

A handful of efficiency standards for other appliances also have been proposed, but won’t be completed until after this year.

The rules will affect nearly every household in the country.

“We all have a microwave or a refrigerator or a dishwasher, so these rules do affect basically every American household,” said Sofie Miller, a researcher at The George Washington University’s Regulatory Studies Center.

Business groups say the new rules will be expensive for industry to comply with because it will require them to buy new technologies to develop appliances that emit less energy. That will raise the retail prices of household appliances, they say.

I hope like heck they mean consume less energy, not emit it. Granted, waste heat, waste photons, waste radio waves, and waste vibrations are all forms of emitted energy. However, it’s impossible to do any work of any kind without giving off heat and vibration. Can’t be done, from the sub atomic level to the galactic one. So better to consume less in the first place IMO.

On the other hand, I’m pretty tired of lazy ass business jerking everyone around. “Oh no, we have to do something new? That will raise the price!” Hey, how about continuous product improvement is a built in feature of your marketplace, so blow that “raise the price” shit right out your ass, fuckwad. General Motors stuck with a 1958 design 2 valve pushrod iron block V8 for more than 40 years, while the rest of the world went to aluminum blocks and 4 valve DOHC. Get up on your surfboard and ride the wave, or drown.

Not to worry too much though. By the time these all-important standards are out, ISIS will have smashed us so many times we’ll all be living in the forest wearing vines and bark.

Funny how the President can’t figure out a damn thing about keeping the world in line, but he and his miniscule minions can crawl up your ass to micromanage every aspect of your life.

Hey you!! - yes you! - is that toothbrush the official approved 45 bristle model? No?? Oh, you little bastard, you’re going DOWN! SWAT team, kick that door in! You are cleared to fire!

Terrorists? What are they? Let me be perfectly clear: as leader of the free world, I don’t have a fucking clue about terrorism, and I can’t be bothered to even listen to my advisors to come up with a plan. Now get out of my way, it’s tee time.

Ha, it looks like Mary Katharine Ham was right all along!.

But, But Obama Said

Guess Two Airstrikes Didn’t Really Break The Siege After All

The U.S. military conducted new airstrikes against Islamic militants Friday as sources tell Fox News members of the group killed 90 male members of Iraq’s Yazidi minority in a northern village and kidnapped “dozens” of women and children.

The Kurdish-speaking ethnic and religious group, which numbers in the hundreds of thousands in Iraq, has been persecuted in the north by Islamic State militants, with at least 500 killed prior to Friday’s news, according to Iraq’s human rights minister.

The U.S. military said in a statement Friday that after receiving reports of civilians being attacked, U.S. forces conducted airstrikes on Islamic State vehicles in the village of Kawju. The village is located south of the village of Sinjar.

“[Militants] arrived in vehicles and they started their killing this afternoon,’’ senior Kurdish official Hoshiyar Zebari told Reuters. “We believe it’s because of their creed: convert or be killed.”

The latest killings came just a day after President Obama said U.S. air strikes and humanitarian aid drops on Sinjar mountain, where thousands of Yazidi have been stranded in an Islamic State siege had been ended.

A Yazidi lawmaker and another senior Kurdish official also said the killings had taken place and that the women of the village were kidnapped.

Iraqi and Yazidi leaders say the brutal Islamic State fighters have buried Yazidi men alive, killed children and kidnapped women to be slaves.

“We have striking evidence obtained from Yazidis fleeing Sinjar and some who escaped death, and also crime scene images that show indisputably that the gangs of the Islamic States have executed at least 500 Yazidis after seizing Sinjar,” Sudani told Reuters Sunday.

Man, these ISIS guys making my pResident look all naive and stuff.

I’m pissed! Which kind of makes me do a mental Obama/Austin Powers mental mash-up ...

Or shuttle a few tens of thousands of Iraqi Army guys up there? They do have army guys don’t they? Or are they still running the other way?

Mr. President, Finally

Obama Calls For Calm and Justice In Ferguson
Says Yazidi Support Was Enough, But Will Give More Support To Iraq and New Iraqi PM

Gosh, I think for the first time in my life I was almost proud of this guy.

Speaking without visible teleprompters, Obama just delivered a short statement on the situations in Iraq and in Ferguson Missouri. He made little eye contact with the cameras, instead looking far left, far right, and down almost constantly.

Looking corporate casual, but noticeably gray and a bit sallow, President Obama said that the air strikes against ISIL has broken their siege against the Yazidi on Mt. Sinjar, and that with the tons of humanitarian aid delivered and the thousands of evacuations done, “the situation on the mountain has greatly improved.” He was also very clear to state that what has been done there is all that we’re going to do there, but aid will flow to the Iraqi government (and the Kurds?).  And that almost all of the small number of military advisors recently sent there would soon be leaving.

Speaking on the Ferguson situation, Obama called for calm, and called for patience while justice is done. He mentioned Michael Brown by name, and said how this was a tragic loss for the young man’s family. He said that no time was the right time to attack police, and that rioting was never called for. He said how journalists should not be jailed for doing their jobs. On the other hand, he said how police forces must avoid using excessive force. He let us know that his boy Attorney General Eric Holder was on it, and that the investigation would include federal authorities working closely with local ones.

No questions from the press were taken.

How Big A Wimp Is He?

Man, this hurts.

When even the FWENCH tell our President to cowboy up, you know he’s a wiener.

French foreign minister slams Obama for golfing while Iraq burns

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has a message about Iraq for Barack Obama: Get back to the White House and do something.

‘I know it is the holiday period in our Western countries,’ Fabius told a radio interviewer Tuesday in France,’ but when people are dying, you must come back from vacation.’

Full-time workers in France are guaranteed a whopping five weeks of paid vacation every year, making his plea all the more urgent.

Obama is on a family and golfing holiday in a ritzy neighborhood of Martha’s Vineyard but says he will come back to Washington this weekend before returning on Tuesday to fun, sun, and more golf.

As town after Iraqi town is conquered by ISIS, an Islamist terror group that claims it has established an ‘Islamic state,’ Obama’s approach has consisted so far of airlifting humanitarian supplies to victimized groups, protecting the aid drops with airstrikes, and begging for help from allies.

Britain, France, Italy and other European nations have backed the humanitarian assistance with material and personnel, reported The Wall Street Journal, which first broke news of the French diplomat’s criticism.

Meanwhile Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have been encouraging a nascent Iraqi government from a safe distance, while assuring Americans that the U.S. won’t enter another prolonged war with boots on the ground.

Eyebrows went up Wednesday in Washington, though, when the White House announced that Obama was leaning toward deploying ground troops to Mount Sinjar, a northern Iraqi hideout to which tens of thousands of Yadizis, a persecuted religious minority group, have led from ISIS.

Ordinarily, I’d say the froggy could vous allez sable de livre (go pound sand), but in this case he’s right.

And it looks like today, Vacation Guy is doing something. Hopefully, not something stupid. Or, at least less stupid than usual.

image

Oh goody ... he’s going to give a speech at 12:15. Although half of that will be about the riots in Ferguson MO, so expect him to cuss out the cops and be all rayciss once again.

... 12:49, still waiting ...

What A Lying Sack

Obama now blames Bush for Iraq troop withdrawal

Because You’re Too Stoned To Remember Even 3 Months Ago

The president who spent years touting the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq suddenly has had to distance himself from that action.

At the White House on Saturday morning — less than 48 hours after authorizing airstrikes against Islamist militants and humanitarian air drops to save the lives of trapped Iraqi civilians — President Obama blamed his predecessor, George W. Bush, for the absence of American troops in Iraq and rejected the assertion that he could have left a small peacekeeping force in the war-torn nation.

He uttered those after three years, and a successful re-election campaign, in which the full removal of U.S. forces from Iraq was cast as this White House’s most significant foreign policy achievement and one Mr. Obama had promised all the way back to the earliest days of his first presidential campaign in 2008.

Now, however, with the terrorist force the Islamic State running roughshod through Iraq, capturing key territory, slaughtering Christians and promising to “raise the flag of Allah at the White House,” Mr. Obama has begun to adjust the narrative.

“What I just find interesting is the degree to which this issue keeps on coming up, as if this was my decision. Under the previous administration, we had turned over the country to a sovereign, democratically elected Iraqi government,” Mr. Obama told reporters just before leaving for a two-week vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. “So let’s just be clear: The reason that we did not have a follow-on force in Iraq was because the Iraqis — a majority of Iraqis did not want U.S. troops there, and politically they could not pass the kind of laws that would be required to protect our troops in Iraq. So that entire analysis is bogus and is wrong. But it gets frequently peddled around here by folks who oftentimes are trying to defend previous policies that they themselves made.”

Mr. Obama’s new take on the 2011 troop withdrawal quickly came under fire from a number of political pundits who pointed out the irony of a president moving away, at least in part, from his signature foreign policy achievement.

Everything is his idea. And when it seems to go right he gloms all the credit. And when it then turns out to be wrong, and falls to pieces, it’s somebody else’s fault. Always.

“I brought all the troops home from Iraq. That’s a promise I made and I kept it.”
“Oh, we should’ve left troops in Iraq? That’s Bush’s fault.”
“And by pointing out ahead of time that removing all the troops would be a disaster, Mr. Romney is not just a laughable idiot, but positively un-American.”

Unreal.

Generally accepted internet rule that states that pornography or sexually related material exists for any conceivable subject.

Russian students beam racist laser show depicting Obama eating a banana on the side of US embassy in Moscow on President’s birthday

A sickening racist birthday message to President Barack Obama has been beamed onto the U.S. embassy in Russia using lasers.

The image, which is sure to further enflame relations between the two countries, showed Mr Obama swallowing a banana.

It was projected onto the front of the embassy building in Moscow as a stunt by students on Monday, the day of Obama’s 53rd birthday.

What what what??? A happy birthday wish to our Fearless Reader, reminding him to get his daily fruits and vegetables? How could that possibly be rayciss???

The brief laser show starts with the message ‘Happy Birthday Obama’ before a likeness of the president appears on the side of the building and a banana slides into his mouth.

A group called the Moscow Student’s Initiative have claimed responsibility for the stunt.
...
Only hours before the racist stunt a banner was unfurled on a building across the road from the embassy that featured caricatures of Obama with the words, ‘I don’t see … I don’t hear … I don’t speak the truth to anybody’.

And how is that one rayciss??? What the hey hey, we had EIGHT SOLID YEARS of “Chimpy McBush”, so portraying the US President as some kind of a   macacca   monkey is nothing new and thus fair game.  And not racist at all. Under their fur, all apes have grey skin.

Besides. Come on already. You want to be insulting? A banana? A banana??? Too simple. Too easy. Easy? Oh hella no. Practically legally required, by Rule 34.

I think the only people crying rayciss here are the ones who are in fact racists.

A Slim Ray Of Hope

DC Court Guts Obamacare

WASHINGTON – A federal appeals court dealt a major blow to ObamaCare on Tuesday, ruling against the legality of some subsidies issued to people through the Affordable Care Act exchanges.

Though the ruling is likely to be appealed, the decision threatens to gut the foundation of the law by potentially nixing subsidies that millions of people obtained through the federally run exchange known as HealthCare.gov.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled 2-1 that the IRS went too far in extending subsidies to those who buy insurance through that website.

The suit maintained that the language in ObamaCare actually restricts subsidies to state-run exchanges—of which there are only 14—and does not authorize them to be given in the 36 states that use the federally run system.

The court agreed.

“We reach this conclusion, frankly, with reluctance. At least until states that wish to can set up Exchanges, our ruling will likely have significant consequences both for the millions of individuals receiving tax credits through federal Exchanges and for health insurance markets more broadly,” the ruling stated.

The case, Halbig v. Burwell, is one of the first major legal challenges that cuts to the heart of the Affordable Care Act by going after the legality of massive federal subsidies and those who benefit from them.

The decision said the law “unambiguously restricts” the subsidies to insurance bought on state-run exchanges.

Right. Obvious as dawn to me: equality under the law. The same law for everyone, with the same benefits and penalties. You can’t give taxpayer X a big fat subsidy check because she lives in a state with an Exchange, while denying taxpayer Y - identical to taxpayer X in all ways pertinent - any kind of subsidy because she doesn’t live in a state with an Exchange.

I’m not sure if that was their reasoning, but I think it ought to have been.

The decision is likely to be appealed, and for now, in typical law breaking brazen fashion, the White House says it will ignore the court’s decision and continue sending out subsidy checks to the right kind of people.

Obamacare. Is there any part of this garbage pile that doesn’t reek of tyranny?

Of course, without those subsidy payments, people who signed up for O-care and traded in their less expensive policy for a new more expensive policy, will find themselves paying even more.  Maybe even twice as much, or higher!

Nearly 90 percent of the federal exchange’s insurance enrollees were eligible for subsidies because of low or moderate incomes, and the outcome of the case could potentially leave millions without affordable health insurance.

Yeah, as if “paying twice as much as before” qualifies as “affordable” in the first place. Now take away the subsidy. Suckers.

Gee, maybe somebody responsible ought to throw this thing out and start all over.

This whole Obamacare thing is a turd sandwich. Without any bacon.

It Was No Accident

Malaysian Airliner Shot Down Over Ukraine

Giant Boeing 777 Falls From Sky

All 295 Aboard Dead, Including 23 Americans?

A plane which crashed in eastern Ukraine with 295 people, including six Britons, on board was reportedly shot down as it flew near airspace deemed unsafe for passenger jets.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which was heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was travelling at an altitude of 33,000 feet (10,000 metres) when contact was lost.

An adviser to the Ukrainian interior ministry told the Interfax news agency the Boeing 777 was brought down by a Buk ground-to-air missile, killing all 280 passengers and 15 crew members.

The victims include six Britons, as well as 154 Dutch, 38 Malaysians and 27 Australians, with a number of Americans also feared dead.

Plumes of thick, black smoke could be seen rising high into the air near the village of Grabovo, Donetsk.

The plane, which one eyewitness said split in half on impact, is almost unrecognisable in pictures of the crash site, with burning wreckage scattered across a vast area.

A spokesman for Malaysia Airlines, still reeling from the loss of flight MH370 in March, said the plane disappeared from radar as it flew over Ukrainian airspace.

Officials in Kiev were quick to deny any involvement, with President Petro Poroshenko lamenting what he called an “act of terrorism”.

US Vice-President Joe Biden said the jet appeared to have been deliberately “blown out of the sky”, with an unnamed US official blaming Ukrainian separatists backed by Russia in an interview with the Reuters news agency.

However, separatist leader Alexander Borodai said the aircraft was shot down by Ukrainian government forces - a claim backed by another separatist, who told Reuters the rebels do not have weapons capable of shooting down a plane at such height.

Sky’s Katie Stallard, in Moscow, said Igor Strelkov, the commander of the pro-Russian Donetsk People’s Republic, appeared to have boasted about the incident on social media.

In one deleted message recovered by Sky News, he allegedly wrote: “We warned you not to fly over our sky.”

Current analysis says the airliner was brought down by anti-aircraft missiles fired from a BUK, a Katyusha like multiple missile launcher on a tank chassis.

Meanwhile Obama Gives 38 Seconds To Crash, Goes Back To Telling Jokes

President Barack Obama provoked fury in the U.S. on Thursday by casually devoting less than a minute to the deaths of 295 people aboard a Malaysian airliner, as he began an often jokey 16-minute speech about the need to expand America’s transportation infrastructure.

There are no confirmed American dead, an earlier Reuters report claimed that it was feared that as many as 23 U.S. citizens had perished.

Obama declared in Wilmington, Delaware that ‘it looks like it may be a terrible tragedy,’ but not before enthusiastically declaring that ‘it is wonderful to be back in Delaware.’
...
‘Before I begin, obviously the world is watching reports of a downed passenger jet near the Russia-Ukraine border. And it looks like it may be a terrible tragedy. Right now we’re working to determine whether there were American citizens on board. That is our first priority.’

‘And I’ve directed my national security team to stay in close contact with the Ukrainian governemnt. The United States will offer any assistance we can to help determine what happened and why. And as a country, our thoughts and prayers are with all the families and passengers, wherever they call home.

Obama then jarringly quickly returned to his prepared remarks.

‘I want to thank Jeremie for that introduction’ he said. ‘Give Jeremie a big round of applause.’

‘It is great to be in the state that gave us Joe Biden. We’ve got actually some better-looking Bidens with us here today.  We’ve got Beau and his wife, Hallie, are here. Give them a big round of applause. We love them.’

I don’t even know how to comment on this. Remember how Bush was chastised for reading to a bunch of kids when the first plane hit the WTC?  He can’t spare a minute? One whole minute? Better to have not mentioned it at all at his fundraiser thingy. Then do a quick presser afterwards.
I’m not even close to presidential, and I can see that one.

Traveling in Denver, this reporter heard gasps from guests watching a hotel lobby television as Obama spoke.

One remarked: ‘A tragedy is when you lose control and fly into a mountainside. This is mass-murder. What a disappointment.’

‘His distance from reality is just bizarre,’ said another.

Daniel Hannan, the British member of Europe’s parliament who has rankled liberals in a series of American speaking tours, tweeted his own disgust.

‘Listening to Obama’s statement [on] the airline tragedy, my mind went back to Reagan 31 years ago,’ he wrote.

‘How America’s leaders have shrunk.’

Obama finished his speech by saying ‘Let’s build some bridges. Let’s build some roads. God bless America.’

Matt Viser, a Boston Globe reporter on the scene, tweeted a devastating reaction.

‘Obama, in sum: A plane crashed. It may be tragic. We’re trying to see if US citizens were on board. Hey, great to be in Delaware!’ he wrote.

What, Another Lie From Our Leaders?

Misperceptions about U.S. immigration policy behind surge of illegal children, report says

MISPERCEPTIONS

Oh harharhar, it is to laugh

A new intelligence assessment concludes that misperceptions about U.S. immigration policy – and not Central American violence – are fueling the surge of thousands of children illegally crossing the Mexican border.

The 10-page July 7 report was issued by the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC), which according to the Justice Department website is led by the DEA and incorporates Homeland Security. Its focus is on the collection and distribution of tactical intelligence, information which can immediately be acted on by law enforcement.

“Of the 230 migrants interviewed, 219 cited the primary reason for migrating to the United States was the perception of U.S. immigration laws granting free passes or permisos to UAC (unaccompanied children) and adult females OTMs (other than Mexicans) traveling with minors,” the report said.

Well, knock me over with a feather. How about that, they fed us another whopper. And here was me, searching the internet for news reports about all the revolutions, ethnic cleansings, slave labor, rape gangs, widespread starvation, apocalyptic disease outbreaks, and even climate change in Central America for weeks now, and not finding much of anything at all. And it turns out to be another story, just like that dingdong video that caused the Benghazi attacks.

“Most transparent administration ever”. Yeah, we’re telling you a bald faced lie, and we’re sticking to it no matter what actual truth you can find. And you can’t do anything about it. Not the kind of transparency we were looking for.

The intelligence assessment, which is unclassified but not meant to go beyond law enforcement, also cited data from the United Nations office on Drugs and Crime Statistics saying despite an explosion in the number of illegal minors, crime data for Central America actually showed a dip in violence.

Do I have to restate the obvious? Somebody at the very top of our government made a decision, and put the word out. The coyotes didn’t think this up on their own. Not a chance of that. It’s official government policy, regardless of whether it’s written down anywhere or officially approved by Congress. Somebody has a cellphone and a pen, and that’s that.

Misperceptions my big toe. Damn our media. Even when the “rebel” side exposes another massive lie, they still don’t have the guts to call a rose a rose, or by any other name. And it don’t smell sweet one bit.

Another Surge In The Purge

Military Officers In Combat Zones Get Pink Slips

Get out there and risk your life soldier! PS - you’re fired.

Who shall be left to lead what’s left?

Now that the purge of the top level of our military is winding down, with almost 200 top brass being fired, retired, or blackballed in the past 5 years, the Obama regime is moving the military purge down a level to the captains and majors.  These are the men and women who are on the military career track, the officers out there in the sandbox getting the real picture. These are the ones who will be the next generation of majors and generals. Well, they would have been. Now they’ll be shop clerks like everyone else. If they’re lucky.

Who gets the axe next? Master Sergeants, Ensigns, Warrant and Petty Officers? Pretty soon won’t be anybody left but Privates. Reminds me of a certain putsch back in the 30s.

In a stunning display of callousness, the Defense Department has announced that thousands of soldiers — many serving as commanding officers in Afghanistan — will be notified in the coming weeks that their service to the country is no longer needed.

Last week, more than 1,100 Army captains — the men and women who know best how to fight this enemy because they have experienced multiple deployments — were told they’ll be retired from the Army.

The overall news is not unexpected. The Army has ended its major operations in Iraq and is winding down in Afghanistan. Budget cuts are projected to shrink the Army from its current 520,000 troops to 440,000, the smallest size since before World War II.

What is astonishing is that the Defense Department thought it would be appropriate to notify deployed soldiers — men and women risking their lives daily in combat zones — that they’ll be laid off after their current deployment.

The nation should worry about the increased national-security risk of separating such a large pool of combat-experienced leaders. The separated soldiers are those who carry the deepest knowledge base of counterinsurgency operations.

A senior Defense Department official warned: “If the force is smaller, there’s less margin for error. Let’s face it — things are pretty uncertain out there.”

Commenting on the extraordinarily large number of captains being retired, Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. John Campbell said: “In other times, they’d probably continue to stay in the Army. But these are not normal times.”

Indeed not. While mass layoffs in the private sector generate front-page headlines, the media have largely ignored the reduction of our military. But who can blame them?

The war-weary public doesn’t want to hear that the cuts put the country at risk.

After more than a decade of fighting, even the most faithful — who used to rally behind the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan by sending CARE packages filled with cookies, candies and reminders of home — have moved on with their lives, with few thoughts of the soldiers still serving there.

War weary? Not exactly. Every time I see a man or woman in uniform, I’m reminded that tens of thousands of American citizens are in harm’s way doing their best to keep the insane world as safe as they can for the rest of us. But the part that wearies me is that I know that they’ve been at it for more than a decade because the political greaseballs in charge WILL NOT LET THEM WIN. Shit, even when they do win, those greaseballs set things up so that it all goes to hell a couple years later anyway.

I am not war weary. I am politician weary. I am coward weary, and I am agenda weary.

And honestly? For those of us not directly involved, or obliquely involved via a son/brother/father/uncle/husband/boyfriend/sister/mother/daughter/aunt/wife/girlfriend in the service, what right have we to dare to say we are “war weary”? Not one item of commerce is being rationed. Not one gallon of gas, head of lettuce, package of ground beef, pair of pants, or even one toothbrush is unavailable because of military need. Nothing. There is NO IMPACT ON THE PUBLIC at all.

Yeah, ammo and components are somewhat hard to come by, and fairly expensive. This is not because of military need. This is because of hoarding, and because of the Regime arming up the entire alphabet of government agencies that should never have guns or ammo to begin with. Hmmm ... and at the same time he’s turning the military into an empty shell and a social gender mixing experiment. And at the same time he’s militarizing the nation’s police forces to a far greater extent than ever in all our history.

Hmmm. Somehow old Uncle Joe comes to mind, don’t he?

Lie Down With Dogs

Yeah, I should’ve put this one up Friday. But hey, I’ve been busy, out playing in the dirt.

Obama Megadonor Indicted: Insurance Fraud and Manslaughter

Obama megadonor Kareem Ahmed was indicted Tuesday by a California grand jury in an alleged multimillion-dollar insurance kickback scheme ...

Ahmed was a major Obama donor during the 2012 election. He gave $1 million to Priorities USA Action in 2012. He also donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to other Democratic candidates.

Additionally, Ahmed called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) his “best friend,” according to TPM.

Fifteen of his associates were also were also indicted.

Ahmed, the president and CEO of a company called Landmark Medical Management, is accused of masterminding the scheme and faces charges including conspiracy, insurance fraud, and, most dramatically, involuntary manslaughter, according to one of two sealed indictments issued by an Orange County grand jury both dated June 17 and obtained this week by TPM.

The first of the two indictments accused Ahmed of developing topical cream formulas “based on the profitability of the ingredients,” and then giving doctors who treated workers’ compensation patients illegal financial incentives to prescribe the creams. The scheme, which ran from 2009-2013, also involved filing false claims with multiple insurance companies, the nine-count indictment alleges.

Slugs, thugs, shysters, con men, killers. The money men behind the DNC. It never changes; this sounds exactly like the stuff we used to see about the Clintons all the time.

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
