One of the country’s most senior police officers, a ‘criminal in uniform’, is jailed

All in the name of diversity and political correctness and a FEAR of being called racist, the dept. advanced a totally crooked cop, a disgrace to the uniform and the service. This was an officer who came very close to becoming England’s top cop.

He has been investagated over a period of years and every time has beaten off his accusers by using the race card.

He has even brought official charges against superiors using race discrimination.

The force was afraid.  How fuckin pathetic.  He is Iranian born .... he isn’t black but was head of the black officer’s assoc. ?

He is sitting on a possible million pound retirement pension.

He was promoted to commander, equivalent in rank to a provincial assistant chief constable, despite performing poorly in interview and Yard chiefs being warned by the Serious Organised Crime Agency of concerns about his conduct.

Police authority officials had wanted to sack him in a fast-track process last spring but backed down amid fears he would sue for racism - allowing the £90,000-a-year officer to stay suspended on full pay for a further nine months.

image

‘He knew where he could push the boundaries, and how to use the Met’s fears of appearing racist to make it difficult to investigate him,

Wiretaps revealed unauthorised links with a number of foreign embassies.

His bosses limply played along as he shamelessly played the race card . . .

Further diplomatic concerns touched directly on national security.

He had contacts with senior staff in the Iranian Embassy and sometimes drove a Liberian Embassy car with diplomatic plates.

He dominated and poisoned race relations within the Metropolitan Police.

His public face was that of human rights champion and defender of fellow ethnic-minority officers against prejudiced white colleagues.  Dizaei felt their pain. After all, wasn’t he the most unfairly persecuted ‘black’ policeman of them all?

In fact, he was simply a self-serving crook; clever conman, bully, playboy, womanising misogynist, serial litigant and liar, who hijacked the issue of race and used it for his own ends.

Under his presidency the National Black Police Association became a useful tool against those who dared cross him.

One of the most telling moments in his trial was a witness’s account of how the ‘Teflon Commander’ had shouted at him: ‘Do you know who I am? I’m Ali Dizaei. Back off!’

And back off they did, shamefully. Successive Met commissioners, home secretaries and independent police watchdogs were too nervous to take him on because of the race storm he would invoke.

Dizaei grew up in Tehran, where his father and grandfather were both senior police commanders. At ten he was sent to boarding school in England, later studied law and in 1986 joined Thames Valley Police.

He was fast-tracked through the junior ranks but his abrasive personality, self-promotion and readiness to find offence were already an issue with colleagues and public alike.

In 1999 he applied to become a superintendent in the neighbouring Metropolitan Police. Britain’s biggest force was in turmoil, damned as ‘institutionally racist’ by the Macpherson Report into the bungled investigation of the murder of black teenager Stephen Lawrence by a gang of white thugs.

The Met needed more senior black officers. Dizaei was accepted even though Deputy Assistant Commissioner Barbara Wilding described him after his interview as the most rude and arrogant man she had ever met.

Alas, Commissioner Sir Paul Condon was in no position to be choosy. Dizaei, with a PhD newly awarded for a thesis ‘The Thin Black Line’ on - yes - police racism, was in.

Once, when he was questioned by a senior white colleague, he replied: ‘You can’t tell me what to do.’ ‘But I’m your boss,’ said the startled superior.

‘I have only one boss and that is Allah,’ snapped Dizaei, piously.

When a women he was dating discovered he was married and tried to break with him, police recorded this exchange, and this is not even the half of it.

‘You want war, bitch, you’re going to get some war. You will see now what I can do so you will cry for years. First I will start with your family, then I come to you and your reputation. I will spread all over London that you are a prostitute.’

You ain’t read nothin’ yet.  Here’s MORE A LOT MORE.

Dogging the Dawg

cheatin’ Obama Advisor ... gets his

Billboards put up in 3 cities proclaim their affair

Looks like time to squeeze another one under that old bus. YaVaughnie Wilkins was mistress to Oracle president and White House Economic Recovery Adviser Charles Phillips, and got DUMPED after their 8 1/2 year affair. He went back to his wife and son, and left this missy at the curb with the rest of the trash. So she got even. She spent a quarter million dollars putting up billboards that proclaimed her eternal devotion ... and just also happened to let everyone in the world know they’d had a thing going on. Trying to get her man back from the grasping clutches of his own wife? Woman scorned and all that? Or just out to embarrass the living #&^% out of the guy? Who can tell, but when this woman drops the dime, she goes all the way.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned—and then there’s this lady.

A fuming mistress catapulted retribution into a new orbit by plastering the country with billboards that show her nuzzling a married New York business honcho and adviser to President Obama, sources said.

The spurned squeeze, YaVaughnie Wilkins, went nuclear after she learned that Charles E. Phillips—president of tech conglomerate Oracle and a member of Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board reconciled with his wife despite his lengthy affair with Wilkins.

The very public humiliation campaign may have cost Wilkins upward of $250,000, at an estimated $50,000 a pop.

Court records show that Phillips’ wife, Karen, filed for divorce in February 2008, but no action has been taken on the filing since that year. The couple recently made up, a source said.

After the billboards surfaced, Phillips fessed up to his longtime affair through a spokesman on Thursday.

“I had an 8-and-a-half-year serious relationship with YaVaughnie Wilkins. The relationship with Ms. Wilkins has since ended, and we both wish each other well,” he said.

The billboards also feature a URL of the Web site http://www.charlesphillipsandyavaughniewilkins.com, which features photos of Phillips’ and Wilkins’ lengthy relationship.

In an Oracle newsletter from 2006, Phillips was described as an ex-marine and “family man” who has a wife and 10-year-old son, Chas, the New York Times reported.

Another top Obama guy caught with his pants down. What a dawg. Wilkins had earlier paid to have a professional “love shrine” website made. It was supposed to be a gift to him, but after she got dumped it’s little more than an ammunition depot filled with pictures and mementos of their long term affair ... which started barely a year after his wife gave birth to their son. That site has been crashing it’s server with hits.

Most ethical government evah, indeed.

Phillips who lives with his wife and their son, Chas, in an Upper West Side brownstone, said, “Oh, man,” after The Post knocked on his door yesterday.

“I’m sorry,” he said before closing the door.

Karen Phillips’ divorce lawyer didn’t return calls. Wilkins did not return calls or respond to an e-mail. Oracle also didn’t return calls.

Gee, I wonder why?

OH POOR ME. I WORK SO HARD AND PUT IN SO MANY HOURS AND I’M NOT MAKING ENOUGH.

I doubt much if even the liberals here would have used his example, pc as they are.  I’m particularly PO’d BIG TIME not just because this politician said something dumb.  They manage to do that everyday no matter the party they belong to.  What has me seeing red (again) is my previous and sad post on the death of that brave soldier.  That poor fellow wasn’t making a quarter of what his representatives were making while CHEATING on their expenses.
The bastards were caught red handed and the maddening thing about so much of what they did is, much of it was legal because THEY MADE THE RULES!  Some are refusing to pay back any money, some are paying back a portion, and many are crying the blues claiming they are being picked on.
Not all of them were cheating to be sure. Lets be very clear on that.  But you should hear the excuses and arguments many are making in an attempt to mask what they did or else make what they did appear on the up and up.  But this story today really set me off in light of that soldier’s death.
Maybe he should be sent to fight this war in that benighted place, on the same money the SSgt was making.  Yeah. We can all see that, right?

It is NOT his making a comparison with the Holocaust that set me off to be honest.  I don’t think he meant it the exact way it’s been taken. I think
I understand his theory, while I think he was pretty darn foolish to use that example.  .  No ... what bothers me so much is his complaint with regard to what he was paid as an MP and his gripe about hours worked and pay received being equal to “minimum wages.”

Tell that to the late Sgt., subject of my last post.

Cameron rounds on Tory MP for comparing expenses ‘witch-hunt’ with Nazi persecution of the Jews

By Claire Ellicott
02nd November 2009

The MP who compared the clampdown on expenses with the Holocaust was ordered to say sorry today.

In an astonishing outburst, Tory MP David Wilshire said the “witch-hunt” against cheats was akin to the politics that “led to Hitler’s gas chambers”.

His remark was branded “offensive and unacceptable” by Tory leader David Cameron who told the Spelthorne MP to withdraw it.

Mr Wilshire paid a total of £105,000 from his expenses into Moorlands Research Services, a firm owned by him and his girlfriend Ann Palmer.

The MP used his office expenses to write to all his constituents in Spelthorne, Surrey, defending his claims.

The two-page letters were printed on Commons notepaper and sent using taxpayer-funded envelopes funded by his office expenses.

When one constituent wrote back, Mr Wilshire replied: ‘The witch hunt against MPs will undermine democracy.

‘It will weaken parliament, handing yet more power to governments. Branding a whole group of people undesirables led to Hitler’s gas chambers’.

The Commissioner for Standards is expected to investigate whether he broke Commons rules that forbid MPs from entering into arrangements that ‘may give rise to an accusation’ of profiting from public funds.

The MP’s latest controversial comments come less than a month after he infuriated David Cameron by comparing his salary to the minimum wage.

He provoked fury by complaining about his salary and long hours in a Westminster meeting with trainee journalists.

He told them: ‘I work 60 to 70 hours a week some weeks. When you look at what I earn, it comes dangerously close to working out as the minimum wage.’

Mr Wilshire paid £3,250 of his office allowances to his own firm over a period of three years.

He claimed that the money was used to pay other suppliers for posters and office products.

The arrangement was highly unusual. Most MPs submitted receipts for office costs directly from suppliers and claimed them back.

The constituency offices of senior Conservative MP David Wilshire in Staines, Surrey. Mr Wilshire said his company was used to pay ‘suppliers’ for office services such as printing

Moorlands Research Services was never registered with Companies House. Mr Wilshire said the firm closed down last year.

Before that, details of his involvement with the company had been included in his entry for the Regis-ter of Members’ Interests.

Mr Wilshire insisted he had done nothing wrong and had not personally profited, calling the claims against him ‘deeply hurtful and unjustified’.

He said the arrangement had been approved in writing by the House of Commons Fees Office, the body accused of nodding through questionable claims for hundreds of MPs.

SOURCE

btw ....  That’s another thing that I have heard quite a bit of.  The MPs saying when all is said and done, they aren’t making all that much considering the hours they work.  OK. Maybe so.  But is anyone holding a gun to their collective heads and forcing them to become MPs?  Don’t think so.

RATS THAT HAVEN’T LEFT THE NEST ….

And you should see yesterday’s headline.  Worse yet because the thieving so and soz have refused the PMs order to return monies.
They say no way Jose.

Just about when I thought things were more or less settled with regard to the dishonest representatives of the people themselves, the Telegraph has opened fire again with banner headlines raking over not just old coals but they have apparently discovered some new scams by MPs.

Oh yeah, and the former speaker, Michael Martin, who was forced to resign but has friends in high places, has been made a “Labour Peer.” A people’s peer the lefties like to say. What it means is that a disgraced speaker now comes back to draw a salary PLUS perks. And all he has to do is show up and sign in. There isn’t any sign out I am informed so he can do as quite a number do.  Come in for a chat with friends and leave for the day. He’ll still be paid and boy he’ll be paid well.

None of us here at BMEWS are members of Mr. O’s fan club BUT I bet even back home neither he nor almost anyone else (ok, that old bastard Robert Byrd comes to mind) would even dream of getting away with the things the Brit MPs do.  Or am I being naive?

Meanwhile, the wife and I have just today written out another check for house deed and have been reading the lawyers instructions for our signatures
which must be sent back. We’ve been stressed all day but alls well. There’s gonna be a mail strike and we don’t trust the mail so a friend is driving me to Southampton tomorrow morning where I will hand deliver the papers. Whew.

Don’t have a clue yet how we are gonna work out getting back home.  Sell this place first I guess. When we can and of course once out of probate.
Then what?  Maybe back to warm climes like So Calif desert which we loved but may no longer be able to afford?  And live someplace while looking for something permanent.  ???  Decisions - decisions.  But FIRST ....

Gotta see if they’ll let her back into the states.  Oh Boy!

Another thing to consider ...  LYNDON.  Will they let me back in on my visa if I have to return for legal and or banking reasons?
I paid for the darn thing but don’t know if I can come and go at leisure.  Any ideas?

So then, Today’s Morning Headline.  My scanner not really big enought. Will correct with next one I buy.
The full headline reads as follows.

MP PAYS £100,000 TO THE COMPANY HE OWNS WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND

One the things that are so damn pathetic about this continuing scandal, is that many of these shysters are already millionaires. In fact, one is a BILLIONAIRE and even he fiddled and cheated the taxpayer.

Blair can’t be allowed to become the next Napoleon…

Another headline in this morning’s Sunday Mail reads as follows.

So as Ireland votes ‘yes’ to Lisbon treaty, our 1000 years of history ends like this

It is not over yet but might be close.  As you read the comments by the Conservative leader David Cameron, I think unless you’re a Brit you’ll be as lost as I am to fully understand what Cameron is saying.

LYNDON ..... HELP?  What does this mean in plain Engrish?

“‘If the Treaty is ratified, we would not let matters rest there. But we have one policy at a time and we will set out how we would proceed in those circumstances if, and only if, they happen.”

Blair can’t be allowed to become the next Napoleon… and don’t even ask about Cherie Antoinette

Sunday Mail

Boris Johnson put himself at the head of a Tory Euro revolt yesterday by demanding a referendum on whether Tony Blair should be the ‘big magnifico’ President of Europe.

imageimage

The London Mayor threw down the gauntlet to David Cameron after the Conservative leader declined to give a cast-iron pledge to call a referendum on the EU Lisbon Treaty if it is ratified by the rest of Europe before the next Election.

Mr Johnson demanded a referendum not just on the Lisbon Treaty, but on whether the UK should pull out of Europe altogether.

‘A referendum would send out a clear message that we do not want a badly thought-out treaty imposed on us without the chance to vote on it,’ Mr Johnson told The Mail on Sunday.

‘It also sends the message that we don’t want some big magnifico swanning round the globe purporting to be acting on our behalf when we haven’t even been consulted as to whether it should be Tony Blair or not.’

Mr Johnson denied that his surprise move was an attempt to undermine Mr Cameron on the eve of the Conservative conference in Manchester, which starts today.

Mr Cameron said if the Treaty is not ratified by the Election, he will go ahead with a referendum if he wins power. However, if it is ratified by then, he said he would ‘not let matters rest there’ – prompting claims he might call off a referendum.

Mr Johnson had no such reservations. ‘I have the solution,’ he declared. ‘What we have got to do is to have a referendum. If Tony Blair is going to be President of Europe, I want a referendum on the matter, and a lot of people will agree with me.
Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson is calling for a referendum on the EU president

‘The British people are entitled to one – and they were certainly promised one. It doesn’t mean the answer has to be “no” but it would be very interesting to hear the arguments.

‘There should be two questions: are you in favour of the Lisbon Treaty and are you in favour of remaining in the EU?’

The Mayor said he would campaign for the UK to stay in Europe but believed that the Lisbon Treaty should be torn up.

Mr Cameron said: ‘I have said repeatedly that I want us to have a referendum. If the Treaty is not ratified in all Member States and is not in force when the Election is held, and if we are elected, we will hold a referendum and lead the campaign for a “No” vote.

‘If the Treaty is ratified, we would not let matters rest there. But we have one policy at a time and we will set out how we would proceed in those circumstances if, and only if, they happen.’

No matter who becomes President of Europe, and people that will be the official title if the treaty is finally forced thru, here is what the estimated cost will be for the new fuhrer.
My source for the following information was the Daily Mail on Saturday. Sorry, no link to the following available.  I had to copy it from the paper.

LIFE OF LUXURY FOR ‘PRESIDENT BLAIR?’

Here’s what the Brits could be helping to pay for, along with other european txpayers.

There is NO job description;
nothing on how long a person will serve, nor any details on how the successful candidate will be remunerated.
But he or she will almost certainly be paid as much as European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso.  His pay-and-perks package is:

Salary:  £269,246 a year
Residence allowance:  £40,390 a year
Entertainment allowance:  £15,635 a year

Resettlement allowance (when he leaves the post) £22,441
Transitional allowance (to help his re-entry into the non-EU world) £403,956

PENSION:  £57,557 A YEAR.

Brussels has been reluctant to say what the position entails.

How conservative pranksters made idiots of Obama’s favourite left-wing charity .

Perhaps some of you have already seen this.  Lyndon did and passed it on to me. I missed it coz I didn’t check everything, every day as I promised myself I would do.
So,, H/T to LYNDON and thanks again.

This is good folks. Really good. The reporting and the writing. What’s bad of course is the subject.

There were a number of comments on the site as always, but this one in particular (Thanks again to Lyndon for directing me there first) is of huge interest and so I’m posting it as well for all to see.

My postings might be light today. Will have to see as day goes on.

I have written a lot on other blogs about voter fraud. That the biggest fear of all is that future elections have been irretrievably rigged. That fear comes from knowledge of the years-long and completely insidious George Soros financed effort to elect far left secretaries of state. Secretaries of State for the individual states are the officials who are in charge of the voter rolls, policing the election voting venues and doing the vote count. This is the single official most able to rig elections (Al Franken, anybody?). And the single high state official most unknown to and uncared about by the public. So it doesn’t take much to get in a far left candidate, since very few in the public pay any attention.

How does this fit in with ACORN? Well, have we all noticed that ACORN has been hired for voter registration in all the states? And, until yesterday, had we noticed that ACORN was going to do the next census count? Do we all realize that not only does that census count control where government moneys are disbursed, but also that population count also is used in figuring the boundaries of Congressional districts. Did we have any concern that for the first time ever, former ACORN-lawyer President Obama has pulled the census count out of the Department of Commerce into the White House?

Call me crazy, but that sounds like a scheme to perpetrate massive vote fraud to me. (If there is a particular reason for having the census in the White House, the President hasn’t explained. And of course the press hasn’t asked.)

In the previous thread I listed many of my concerns about Obama. The census and election rigging should have been on that list, and probably as the biggest concern of all.

Incidentally, as of last night, the film maker may be subject to charges in the State of Maryland where it is illegal to tape record (i.e., the audio on the camera) someone without their consent. Don’t know how that will play out.

One last thing: my strongest reaction at seeing the ACORN videos was surprise that the ACORN employees were so knowledgeable and smart at gaming the system. I am a lawyer (who doesn’t practice and hates the litigiousness of society and the whole trial lawyers-tort bar - so don’t yell at me). So as I watched the videos, I kept thinking that those ACORN employees missed their calling and should have gone to law school!

Just seeing the name, George Soros, makes me see red. No pun intended. That foreigner who has done so well for himself on our shores has been a recognized danger to America and has worked actively against the USA for years, is still alive and breathing and living well. WHY?
Why has he been allowed to continue his unwelcome breathing?  Can’t someone, somewhere nail that bastard?  Guess not or it would have been done by now.  Darn!

How conservative pranksters made idiots of Obama’s favourite left-wing charity ACORN

By James Delingpole
September 14th, 2009
The Telegraph

A skinny white prostitute and her pimp turn up at the office of Barack Obama’s favourite US “poverty action” charity ACORN (Association of Community Organisations for Reform Now). They want advice on a few problems, like how best to bring over a “couple” of - well, 13, actually - underage girls from El Salvador to work in this brothel they’ve got planned, without attracting too much heat from the authorities. How can they get a mortgage, how should they deal with their tax affairs, how do they legitimize their immoral earnings and so on?

ACORN’s expert advisers are more than happy to oblige, as this hilarious video - first posted at the BigGovernment site - reveals.

Hilarious because, of course, the footage is a stitch-up. It was filmed with a hidden camera and acted out by two very brave young US investigative journalists - Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe, keen to expose the dubious moral standards of the radical left organisation. (Using methods not unakin to those advocated by Obama’s preferred leftist agitator Saul Alinsky)

Since then they have struck twice more. First at one of ACORN’s Washington DC offices. Most recently in New York - where, among the advice they were given was to hide their illicit gains in a tin and bury it in their back yard.

A neat little scoop which has already caused several heads to roll at ACORN, and, as Toby Harnden reports today has led the US Census Office to break its controversial links (for chapter and verse see Stephanie Guttman’s blog on this) with the notorious organisation. But is it really any more significant than that?

Well, of course, those on the liberal-left would have you believe not. It’s just another of those typical right-wing smear campaigns that conservative “nut jobs” like Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart have so cynically concocted to discredit Democrats in general and the saintly Obama in particular.

Naturally I beg to differ. As something of a professional conservative nut job myself, I find that one of the hardest struggles of my daily existence is persuading the world that I’m not in this game just to be wilfully contrarian and I’m not in it because I’m a heartless, evil bastard who is never happier than when crushing the aspirations of the poor, the disabled or anyone from an ethnic minority.

The reasons I’m a conservative are a) because I do care actually and b) because I’ve seen the alternative and it sucks.

For a shining example of b) look no further than these ACORN video exposes, which show exactly what’s wrong with practical socialism. 1. Big government takes your hard-earned money. 2. It spends on it an organisations like ACORN so rotten to the core and with values so inimical to your own, that frankly it would easier if you’d taken 40 per cent of your income in a big suitcase down to the nearest housing project, allowed yourself to be mugged - and cut out the middle man.

Gaddafi honours Scotland with pipers at 40th anniversary party to thank them for Megrahi’s release

Gee, Mr. Nice Guy huh.  What a revolting piece of work this guy is.  Why oh why couldn’t we have taken him out?

Anyway ... see the link for loads more photos, the rest of the article and a video, which really isn’t worth watching.

Thankfully, the papers say that the west shunned his celebration.  All that oil. All that money.

Gaddafi’s 40th anniversary celebration includes simulation of the hanging of his political enemies.

Pipers in traditional kilts were the centrepiece at Colonel Gaddafi’s 40th anniversary celebrations because he wanted to ‘honour’ Scotland for freeing the Lockerbie bomber, it emerged today.

In scenes set to deepen the anger over the release of Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, the band played traditional marching songs during a military tattoo.

Images of the 57-year-old convicted killer - who is too ill to attend in person - were then broadcast on massive screens in central Tripoli.

Pictures of Abdelbaset Al Megrahi’s hero’s return to Libya were shown during celebrations of Colonel Gaddafi’s 40 years in power last night

An organiser of the event, which was broadcast around the globe, said: ‘Colonel Gaddafi wanted to show the world his support for Scotland.

‘The freeing of al-Megrahi was a highlight of the Colonel’s time in office and he wanted to honour Scotland for it.’

Widespread revulsion greeted the pictures broadcast from Tripoli last night, which Colonel Gaddafi had agreed to distribute internationally for free.

It increases accusations the dictator is revelling in the diplomatic coup that led to Megrahi being released from a Scottish prison last month.

He was freed and allowed to return home to his family in Libya on compassionate grounds because he is dying of prostate cancer.

Now a Libyan national hero, he was today said to be ‘honoured and proud’ to have played a starring role in the celebrations, which he watched from his hospital bed.

“Stay away from my kids…”

I’ve been trying to catch up on my 24/7 Rush Limbaugh podcasts.

The first hour on 24Aug09 Rush carried the audio of this Marine’s challenge to his congressman. His name is David Hedrick and he really made plain what is at stake in government ‘deathcare’.

Honestly, when ARE our elected officials, from Obama on down, going to fulfill their oath of office?

The Senator of Sleaze who was a drunk sexual bully…

After listening to the mawkish whitewash last night on the BBC (radio), I was quite surprised today to find this in the Daily Mail.  And it wasn’t the only commentary written in the Mail on this subject.

I do not gloat in his death even though I did not like the man. There was nothing to like or admire in my opinion.
Anyway, this commentary says enough and says it far better then I ever could.  As does the commentary by Ruth Dudley Edwards, link below.

Ted Kennedy: The Senator of Sleaze who was a drunk sexual bully… and left a young woman to die

By Charlie Laurence
Last updated at 3:31 PM on 27th August 2009

Senator Edward ‘Ted’ Kennedy stood for sleaze. Bloated and drunken, he used his standing in the Kennedy clan to chase vulnerable women - which brought his dream of reaching the White House to a shameful end.

He was the youngest of the four Kennedy brothers, and by far the longest lived.

Incredibly, he was in line to inherit his brother John F. Kennedy’s legendary presidency, but his chances were dashed following the drowning of the pretty, young campaign assistant Mary Jo Kopechne.

Forever known as the Chappaquiddick Incident after the Massachusetts island where it took place, the scandal in 1969 broke the Kennedy grip on the White House.

A drunk Ted had been driving back from a party to the family ‘compound’ on Martha’s Vineyard when he veered off a bridge and into a deep tidal dyke.
Drowned: Mary Jo Kopechne was killed after Ted Kennedy drove his car off a bridge with her inside

Mary Jo was in the back seat and, while he claimed he was just giving her a lift back to her hotel, it was widely thought that he had picked her up for sex. Kennedy swam ashore to save himself, but left Mary Jo to drown - in fact, it was even worse than that.

It was nine hours before he reported the accident. In the meantime, he walked back to his motel, complained to the manager about a noisy party, took a shower, went to sleep, ordered newspapers when he woke up and spoke to a friend and two lawyers before finally calling the police.

Divers later estimated that if he had called them immediately, they would have had time to pull out Mary Jo. She had not drowned, but had survived in an air pocket inside the car - she was asphyxiated only when the oxygen ran out several hours later.

As always, Ted used the family name to save his neck. In any other state but Massachusetts, the Kennedys’ home turf, and with any other name, he would have been charged with homicide.

Instead, he escaped with a slap on the wrist: a two-year suspended sentence and the loss of his driving licence for a year. He had been allowed to plead guilty to no more than the charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Kennedy lawyers arranged for him to pay £55,000 to the Kopechne family from his own pocket with a further £30,000 from his insurance. Mary Jo’s mother later said: ‘I don’t think he ever said he was sorry.’

At the height of the scandal, Kennedy went on TV to explain himself in an extraordinary 13-minute address in which he denied driving drunk and rejected rumours of
‘immoral conduct’ with Kopechne.

He said he was haunted by ‘irrational’ thoughts immediately after the accident, and wondered ‘whether some awful curse did actually hang over all the Kennedys’.

He said his failure to report the accident right away was ‘indefensible’.

Yet the tragedy and his actions appalled millions of Americans.

The steamroller Kennedy political machine, combined with his popular opposition to the then raging Vietnam War, made him favourite for the 1972 presidential election, but the drunken drive that killed Mary Jo snuffed out his bid.

Edward Kennedy’s character flaws would have sidelined any man from a lesser family before his career had begun. Schooled in the height of privilege, like his brothers, at exclusive boarding ‘prep’ schools, Kennedy went on to Harvard.

But he was expelled from that Ivy League bastion for persuading another undergraduate to take his Spanish exams for him. It was an episode that should have served as a warning to the voters.

Kennedy joined the Army to redeem himself and was later readmitted to Harvard. He followed the classic path of the American elite to law school, graduated and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.

But he did not take a single case. He believed that, like his brothers, he was destined for greatness. As he could not stand for the Senate until he was 30, the Kennedy machine arranged for a ‘stooge’ candidate to hold the family seat for two years, when JFK left it for the White House.

He reeked of drink by nine in the morning and could be relied on to be bawling drunk at four in the afternoon. In Washington’s top La Brasserie restaurant, he once threw a waitress over a table in a private room and tried to have sex with her.

His face, once handsome, became as round as a football, bloated and criss-crossed with the broken veins of an out-of-control drinker.

ALL GLORIOUS COMRADES TAKE NOTE.  ATTN PLEASE WHILE EUROPE PRONOUNCES

Stupid fuckin socialist dipshits!

PUBLIC URGED TO SNOOP ON BLUB SHOPS

THE public has been urged by the govt. to inform trading standards officers about shops that continue to sell traditional light bubs banned by Europe.

From Sept. 1st it will be illegal to make or import coventional pearl or frosted bulbs of any shape or wattage.

All traditional incandescent bulbs of 100watts will also be banned.  They will be replaced by energy-saving bulbs.

But it is thought that consumers still prefer the traditional type because of the apparent poor quality of light from the new bulbs.

Well duh.  Who pays any attention to the consumer when the eu speaks?

note to p. BUY another hundred bulbs today.

‘Green’ Germans hoard traditional bulbs to beat ban

Germans have been stockpiling vast numbers of energy-hungry lightbulbs

Germany’s green credentials have long made it the spiritual home of tree-huggers across the world.

But those who actually live there seem reluctant to embrace the eco-warriors’ latest symbol - the energy-saving lightbulb.

Germans have been stockpiling vast numbers of old-fashioned energy-hungry lightbulbs ahead of next week’s EU ban on many of them.

Sales of conventional incandescent bulbs shot up 34 per cent in the first six months of this year as consumers hoarded the dwindling supplies.

In most other European countries, sales fell over the same period. In Britain, where big retailers introduced a voluntary ban on 100 watt bulbs in January, sales are down by a fifth.

Brussels is banning all pearl or frosted traditional bulbs and clear 100 watt bulbs from September 1 as part of its drive to cut carbon dioxide emissions and tackle climate change.

Stocks are expected to run out in most towns by the end of next month, forcing householders to buy energy-saving compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) or low-energy halogen bulbs.

The figures highlighting Germany’s unwillingness to switch to CFLs have surprised some in a country with such a strong green movement and which brought the world the eco-friendly repairable Birkenstock sandal.

Post Traumatic Stress is diagnosed far too liberally, claims trauma expert .

Brilliant.

Ordinary laymen, and ladies too, have guessed that for a long time.  Now comes the dawn? Better late then never but the question is, will anyone listen?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder has become a “fashionable diagnosis” that is far too liberally diagnosed, according claims a trauma expert who treated victims of the King’s Cross Tube fire.

By Richard Alleyne, Science Correspondent
27 Jul 2009
The Telegraph

Dr James Thompson, a trauma psychologist, made the comments on BBC’s Panorama programme investigating the growing army of sufferers.

The programme claims that the NHS now treats an estimated 220,000 people a year suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, a diagnosis once reserved for those coming back from war zones.

The disorder is adding enormously to the burgeoning multibillion personal accident industry business, it said.

Those being diagnosed include people who have had a minor traffic accident, bullying in the workplace, even in the schoolyard.

In the programme, titled The Trauma Industry, Dr Thompson suggested it was part of the growing “victim culture”.

“It has become a fashionable diagnosis because it has the key feature that is about what the world did to you,” he told the programme.

“And that is always attractive to all of us. Now you can teach yourself PTSD on the internet within five minutes.”

Soldiers, policemen, ambulance workers and firemen are among those most likely to end up suffering from PTSD, along with members of the public who are attacked, involved in a car crash or affected by a disaster.

Victims of the disorder, which may emerge months or even years after a traumatic experience, may find themselves suffering from flashbacks and nightmares, disturbed sleep, aggressive behaviour, an inability to concentrate and a tendency to panic easily.

After the 1987 King’s Cross tube fire, in which 31 people died, mental health professionals drew up a list of 670 people who were at risk from PTSD, of whom only 100 had been directly involved. The rest were emergency staff and railway officials who had witnessed horrific scenes in the burning station as well as relatives of those who died.

Just Another Day In Joisey

NJ lawmakers arrested in HUGE international corruption case

NEWARK, N.J. – The mayors of three New Jersey cities, two state legislators and several rabbis were among more than 40 people arrested Thursday in a sweeping corruption investigation that began as a probe into an international money laundering ring that trafficked in goods as diverse as human organs and fake designer handbags.

Among 44 people arrested Thursday were Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano III, Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell, Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini, state Assemblyman L. Harvey Smith and state Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt.

Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez, who is also an attorney, is charged with agreeing to accept an illegal $10,000 cash payment for his legal defense fund.

The number of arrests was noteworthy even for New Jersey, a state that has seen more than 130 public officials plead guilty or be convicted of corruption since 2001.

“New Jersey’s corruption problem is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the nation,” said Ed Kahrer, who heads the FBI’s white collar and public corruption investigation division. “Corruption is a cancer that is destroying the core values of this state.”

Gov. Jon Corzine reacted to the probe Thursday morning by saying, “any corruption is unacceptable — anywhere, anytime, by anybody. The scale of corruption we’re seeing as this unfolds is simply outrageous and cannot be tolerated.”

In separate money laundering complaints, several rabbis from Brooklyn and New Jersey were charged with offenses ranging from the trafficking of kidneys from Israeli donors to laundering proceeds from selling fake Gucci and Prada bags.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the investigation initially focused, with the help of the cooperating witness, on the money laundering network that operated between Brooklyn, Deal, N.J. and Israel. The network is alleged to have laundered tens of millions of dollars through charities controlled by rabbis in New York and New Jersey.

What this story DOESN’T tell you ... is that 42 of the 44 people arrested SO FAR ... are Democrats.

ENGLAND CAN NOW OFFICIALLY BEND OVER AND KISS IT’S COLLECTIVE ASS GOOD-BYE!

AND I’M NOT TRYING TO BE FUNNY.

This popped up only minutes ago. I do believe it is tomorrow’s headline.

If the Brits put up with this shit, if they don’t riot over this, then they will deserve EVERY GOD DAMN THING that this will bring about. This kind of thing is where it really begins, isn’t it?  And what the fuck next?

So help me if I were in that position and had a sign in my home or shop and some crack pot fucked up Olympics “official” tried to take anything away, I’d use a butcher knife on em and fix em so they’d not look like anything that once walked and talked.

This is some shit people.  Powers that be say the authority to use the new law will not be used. Oh yeah? Then why’s it there jerk? Maybe for some future event? Comrade.

You in the USA should understand.  There are BILLIONS being spent on the 2012 olympics. Not everyone is so happy about that.
I don’t believe those who are against it have any particular right to stop traffic or cause mayhem.
But I’ll be damned if I think they have no right to protest the boondoggle or that any official has a right to enter their house and confiscate protest signs.

Police given powers to enter homes and tear down anti-Olympics posters during 2012 Games

Olympic protests

Police will be given new powers to stop protesters during the London 2012 Olympics it has emerged

Police have been handed ‘Chinese-style’ powers to enter private homes and seize political posters during the London 2012 Olympics.

Little-noticed measures passed by the Government will allow officers and Olympics officials to enter homes and shops near official venues to confiscate any protest material.

Breaking the rules could land offenders with a fine of up to £20,000.

Civil liberties groups compared the powers to those used by the Communist Chinese government to stop political protest during the 2008 Beijing Games.

Anita Coles, of Liberty, said: ‘Powers of entry should be for fighting crime, not policing poster displays. Didn’t we learn last time that the Olympics should not be about stifling free expression?’

The powers were introduced by the Olympics Act of 2006, passed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, supposedly to preserve the monopoly of official advertisers on the London 2012 site.

They would allow advertising posters or hoardings placed in shop or home to be removed.

But the law has been drawn so widely that it also includes ‘non-commercial material’ - which could extend its reach to include legitimate campaign literature.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling said: ‘This is a Government who just doesn’t understand civil liberties. They may claim these powers won’t be used but the frank truth is no one will believe them.’

Liberal Democrat spokesman Chris Huhne said: ‘This sort of police action runs the risk of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ‘We should aim to show the Chinese that you can run a successful Olympics without cracking down on protestors and free speech.’

Scotland Yard denied it had any plans to use the powers.

Assistant Commissioner Chris Allison said: ‘We have no intention of using our powers to go in and take down demonstration posters.’

But critics said that - given the powers were now law - it was impossible to predict what would happen in three years time.

Campaigners said the existence of the powers was ‘dreadful’. Peter McNeil, who is against the holding of equestrian events in Greenwich Park said: ‘It’s bullying taken to another level. It’s quite appalling that this should happen in a democracy.’

The power emerged as the Home Office and police outlined the £600million security operation for the Games, which will cost more than £9billion in total.

They said hundreds of flights could have to be diverted every day, with planes prevented from passing over the main venue for the London games.

Olympic security chiefs said they expected to have to ‘manage’ the airspace over the Olympic Park in east London.

A senior Home Office official said: ‘We do expect there will have to be some management of the airspace. We do not expect that any airports will have to close.’

The officials said they had no evidence of a specific terror threat against the Games at the moment.

But current preparations assume the terror threat level will be at ‘severe’ during the event, despite it being reduced to ‘substantial’ for the UK earlier this week. It is the lowest threat level nationwide since before the July 7 attacks in 2005.

A DCMS spokesman said: ‘The advertising provisions in the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Act 2006 are there to prevent ambush marketing and the over-commercialisation of the Games, not to prevent or restrict lawful protests.

‘The measures will only apply to areas within a few hundred meters of the London 2012 venues. The Government is currently developing detailed regulations for advertising during the Games which will enable these powers to come into effect. The Government will be consulting on the regulations in 2010.’

  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
