Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right
Seriously. That’s the title of a study published by West Point! An excerpt from the web page:
In the last few years, and especially since 2007, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of attacks and violent plots originating from individuals and groups who self-identify with the far-right of American politics.
Really? I never read about these in the news. You’d think the left-wing media would be all over such stories. I have read about a huge increase in left-wing violence since 9/11. But I’ve yet to read the study, which is available at the above link as a pdf download. OK BMEWSers and BMEWSettes, go get the study and let’s start ripping it to shreds! Hurry! Get it before they take it down. Oh, never mind. If they do take it down, I’ll just post my copy at my blog.

cranky dumpster puppy
I got corralled into helping clean out the MIL’s house. I am not a happy puppy. There will be a 30 yard dumpster into which piles of stuff will be carted. There will be an estate / yard sale. There will be things coming back to our house. It will take any number of days, perhaps several weeks.
I did so many projects for that woman when she was alive. I really don’t want to do another one now that she’s gone, but there isn’t a lot of choice. Too much “Oh I have to keep that” mixed in with the “ewww, gar - bahg!” to hire people and just say “empty it all”. So the whole family has to show up when we can, to pick and sort and haul.
This will eat my entire day, and probably my next couple of weeks. I am not thrilled at the prospect.

Jihad High
A small update on that AQ in Canada train bombing plot: both detainees are Tunisian.
The two accused are Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal and Raed Jaser, 35, of Toronto, the RCMP said.
Neither man is a Canadian citizen. Officials would not provide more details about them. The Mounties arrested them on Monday.
According to his online biography, Mr. Esseghair was born in Tunisia and is now a PhD student at a Quebec university, the INRS (Institut national de la recherche scientifique), where he is a member of a team at a lab in Varennes, outside Montreal, developing biosensors.
In other close-but-not-quite-related news, it seems like Canada might just have its own Jihad High!
The arrests are the third recent set of terrorism allegations involving Canadian citizens.
The RCMP has been investigating a group of students from the same high school in London, Ont. Two of them, Ali Medlej and Xristos Katsiroubas, died in last January’s terrorist attack at the In Amenas gas plant in Algeria. A friend of the duo, Aaron Yoon, is serving a two-year terrorism-related sentence in Mauritania while a fourth London man, Mujahid Enderi, is still being sought by police.
At the same time, officials are also investigating whether another Canadian, a former York University student from Markham, Ont., joined Somalia’s Al Shabab insurgency and was part of a team of suicide bombers who attacked Mogadishu’s courthouse earlier this month.
The article does not say whether this is a public school, or a private madrassa. Which would likely be Saudi Wahhabi funded, like many if not most madrassas in the Western Hemisphere. Funny, didn’t we just deport
some Saudi guy, a “person of interest” in the early hours of the Boston bombings? yeah, that came a day after our new Secretary of State, John Fuckface Kerry, had an emergency closed-door meeting with the Saudi ambassador? Oh darn, I think I just recalled that plane loads of Saudis got flown out of the USA just after September 11, 2001, when there wasn’t an airplane flying anywhere on the continent. Makes ya wonder, don’t it?

I just don’t get it
Pamela Geller has the background on one of the Canadian cuckoo choo-choo jihadis. The guy is freakin’ Joe Brain, PHD, super-genius. Involved in all sorts of high-tech medical research ... with a huge team of fellow muslims.
And he wants to blow things up and kill people.
Oh great. Tamerlan possibly connected to triple murder from two years ago?

http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2013/04/boston-jihad-bomber-eyed-in-jewish-triple-murder.html
Police in a Boston suburb are investigating whether slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was involved in the unsolved murders of his close friend and two other men, one of whom was a Brandeis University graduate and the other a devout Jew.
Tsarnaev, who was killed in a shootout with police, was a close friend of Brendan Mess, who was found murdered in an apartment in Waltham, Mass. on Sept. 12, 2011, along with Erik Weissman and Raphael Teken.
Weissman was a devoted member of his synagogue, according to WCVB in Boston and Teken had majored in history at predominantly Jewish Brandeis.
The triple murder was originally considered to be drug related because the men’s bodies were found covered with marijuana. The crime was particularly brutal and all three victims’ thoats were slashed.
Pamela Geller - “What I didn’t know was that all three victims were Jewish.” http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2013/04/boston-jihad-bomber-eyed-in-jewish-triple-murder.html
All three died from slashed throats. On September 11, 2011. In Waltham MA. A mile west of Watertown. The elder Tsarnaev brother was close with at least one of them. Two males were seen walking away from the crime scene. No one has ever been charged.

Good Grief, I takE a few hours off and look what happens …
Too many bits going on in the news to keep on top off, so here are a fast handful of links. The last story, about the AQ bombing plot thwarted in Canada, may turn out to be the biggest one of all, and open the whole AQ In The West can of worms. Right now it isn’t much of a story. Not yet.
- Boston Bombers Had Guns Illegally. #3 in the No Kidding Parade, right? Not that they couldn’t have got them; I gather the two are American citizens with no prior convictions and no adjudicated mental health issues. So acquiring firearms legally would only be a matter of paperwork, time, and money. And being at least 21. As college students, maybe they didn’t have the required $100 to spare (per weapon?). Street guns are so much cheaper though, and so much faster to get your hands on.
In the confrontation with police on the streets of a Boston suburb, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were armed with handguns, at least one rifle and several explosive devices, authorities say.
But neither brother appears to have been legally entitled to own or carry firearms where they lived, a fact that may add to the national debate over current gun laws. Last week, the U.S. Senate rejected a bill to expand background checks on gun purchases, legislation that opponents argued would do nothing to stop criminals from buying guns illegally.
Nice try al-Reuters, but the background check thing is dead. Not that it would have done a damn thing in this case either. PS - nobody anywhere can get government licensing or approval for home-made bombs for personal jihad use. Just about every government everywhere frowns on that one.
- Even A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day Nasty, rabid leftist Bill Maher calls BS to another lib and says Boston bombings were jihad. Superb, but he’s still the 3rd biggest douche on TV.
BRIAN LEVIN, DIRECTOR OF THE CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF HATE AND EXTREMISM AT CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, SAN BERNADINO: Could I just interject? Look, it’s not like people who are Muslim who do wacky things have a monopoly on it. We have hypocrites across faiths, Jewish, Christian who say they’re out for God and end up doing not so nice things.
MAHER: You know what? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? That’s, that’s liberal bullshit right there. I mean, yes, all faiths…
LEVIN: There are no Christian hypocrites?
MAHER: No, there are.
LEVIN: You make a career on that.
MAHER: They just, they’re not as dangerous. I mean, there’s only one faith, for example, that kills you or wants to kill you if you draw a bad cartoon of the prophet. There’s only one faith that kills you or wants to kill you if you renounce the faith. An ex-Muslim is a very dangerous thing. Talk to Salman Rushdie after the show about Christian versus Islam. So, you know, I’m just saying, let’s keep it real.
LEVIN: Well, I guess I have a girl for you, Pam Geller you could maybe meet. No, I really disagree with you.
MAHER: I don’t know what that means.
LEVIN: Well, she’s an Islamaphobe. But, no I…
MAHER: I’m not an Islamaphobe. That’s wrong. I am a truth lover. All religions are not alike. As many people have pointed out, “The Book of Mormon.” Did you see the show?
LEVIN: No, it’s hard to get tickets.
MAHER: Okay, can you imagine if they did “The Book of Islam?” Could they do that? There’s only one religion that threatens violence and carries it out for things like that. Could they do “The Book of Islam” on Broadway?
LEVIN: Possibly so.
MAHER: Possibly so? Tell me what color the sky is in your world.
- Feds ask to interview widow of suspected bomber as brainwashing claims surface
WHAT WHAT WHAT?? Well, duh, of course. Doesn’t it figure? Former all-American hot college chick goes jizzlam, turns into a brain dead zombie, starts cranking out little terrorists. Naturally.
Federal investigators want to speak with the widow of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a Muslim convert and mother of their 3-year-old daughter, according to the Rhode Island woman’s attorney.
Investigators went to the suburban Rhode Island home of Tsarnaev’s in-laws Sunday evening, where Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, 24, has been staying. Lawyer Amato DeLuca told The Associated Press that she did not speak with them and they are discussing how to proceed.
...
DeLuca said Russell did not suspect her husband of anything, and that there was no reason for her to have suspected him. He saidshe had been working 70 to 80 hours, seven days a week as a home health care aide. While she was at work, Tsarneav, 26, cared for their toddler daughter, DeLuca said.
Sure he did. Well you can’t expect a big bad-ass important jihadi to actually have a frickin’ job, now can you???
Russell, according to reports, was “totally transformed” by Tsarnaev after meeting him. By age 21, she had married him and borne his daughter, Zahara, who is now 3 years old, the Daily Mail reports. She also converted to Islam and underwent a change so profound that few friends truly understood the sizable shift.
“I saw her like a few months ago and she was just totally transformed,” one former classmate told the newspaper. “She was not the same person at all.”
Another former classmate said the “All-American” girl had been “brainwashed” by her super-religious husband.
Russell later met Tsarnaev while she was a student at Boston’s Suffolk University. Soon thereafter, she converted and her priorities seemingly changed, as she left the school in 2010 without graduating. Months earlier, in July 2009, Tsarnaev was arrested for allegedly assaulting Russell, who described Tsarnaev to authorities as a “very nice man,” the newspaper reports.
Hey, wouldn’t that charge right there disqualify him from buying a gun??
- Republicans, Stupid As Usual: Dzhokhar charged, will not be treated as enemy combatant. Well no shit, he’s an American citizen now. Ya can’t do that. Nor is what he did a combat action. Nor is he a soldier of another government. Sorry, but we still have a few laws still working.
The White House said Monday that the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing will not be treated as an enemy combatant, drawing a rebuke from Republican lawmakers who wanted the administration to consider that option for the sake of intelligence gathering.
The announcement came as a federal complaint was filed against suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Fox News has learned that the suspect made an initial appearance in front of a federal magistrate judge at the hospital where he still is being treated. Fox News also confirmed he was advised of his Miranda rights. No plea was entered.
The complaint charged Tsarnaev with using a weapon of mass destruction at the marathon one week ago, an attack that killed three people and injured more than 200. The document authorized the death penalty or life imprisonment to be sought.
“Although our investigation is ongoing, today’s charges bring a successful end to a tragic week for the city of Boston, and for our country,” Attorney General Eric Holder said in a written statement.
As the complaint was filed, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney made clear that the suspect would go through the civilian court system and would not be handled as a combatant.
“He will not be treated as an enemy combatant,” Carney said. “We will prosecute this terrorist through our civilian system of justice.”
Carney stressed that the civilian system has been used to try, convict and incarcerate “hundreds of terrorists” since the 9/11 attacks, including the Times Square attempted bomber. “The system has repeatedly proved that it can successfully handle the threats we continue to face,” he said.
Carney noted U.S. citizens—like Tsarnaev—cannot be tried in military commissions under U.S. law.
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and other lawmakers, though, were not suggesting he be tried before a military commission. Graham, rather, was suggesting that the administration label him an “enemy combatant” for purposes of intelligence gathering. He said Monday afternoon that he “strongly” disagrees with the administration’s decision to rule out that possibility.
Hundreds??? Blink. Blink. Hundreds?? But trust the Dems to treat terrorism as a crime, not an act of war. Although in this one instance I have to agree with them. Until somebody gets off his can and brings back the charge of treason, we’re pretty much stuck with plain old murder and WMD charges against our own people who blow up our own people. And if we do bring back treason charges, there’s a long, long list of people in DC to charge before we ever get around to some dipshit little bomb throwers. Too bad you were in such a hurry to grant him citizenship.
- Wall Street Journal: Damn Right It Was Jihad
Is this, as former CIA Director Michael Hayden put it, the new normal?
There is also cause for concern in the president’s reluctance, soon after the Boston bombing, even to use the “t” word—terrorism—and in his vague musing on Friday about some unspecified agenda of the perpetrators, when by then there was no mystery: the agenda was jihad.
For five years we have heard, principally from those who wield executive power, of a claimed need to make fundamental changes in this country, to change the world’s—particularly the Muslim world’s—perception of us, to press “reset” buttons. We have heard not a word from those sources suggesting any need to understand and confront a totalitarian ideology that has existed since at least the founding of the Muslim Brotherhood in the 1920s.
The ideology has regarded the United States as its principal adversary since the late 1940s, when a Brotherhood principal, Sayid Qutb, visited this country and was aghast at what he saw as its decadence.
Well ... as Sean Connery’s Chicago cop Sam Malone said in The Untouchables, “What are you prepared to do?”
- AQ In Canada Busted: Plot To Blow Up The Eh, Train?
Alleged ‘al-Qaeda-supported’ plot against Via train thwarted ; Police say 2 accused were getting ‘direction and guidance’ from al-Qaeda elements in Iran
Police say they have arrested two men accused of conspiring to carry out an “al-Qaeda supported” attack targeting a Via passenger train in the Greater Toronto Area, following a cross-border investigation that involved Canadian and American law enforcement.
In a press conference that followed a report by CBC’s Greg Weston, police named the two accused as Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, from Toronto. They have been charged with conspiracy to carry out a terrorist attack and “conspiring to murder persons unknown for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group.”
Chiheb and Raed? Looks like another loss for the “Please let it be a white guy” crowd.
A potential bomb plot on a passenger train over the Niagara River has been averted, a police source says. …
One police source said there were several scenarios being looked at during the year the suspects were tracked, including the train plot.
One of the plots uncovered by the RCMP and other agencies was a planned bombing of a passenger train on the bridge that connects Canada and the United States at Niagara Falls, a police source says.
“The plan was to take out a train with passengers on board and the crossing trestle,” said a source. “It was meant to be spectacular and there would have been a lot of carnage.”

the vermin are now baaaaaaaaaaak.
A comment by NJYankee reminded me of this bit of bother. And it will get worse in a few months, when the borders will be open to thousands of the scum.
Because no matter what the liberals and the liberal thinking conservative say, the vast majority of incoming will not be the high earners or the well educated or students of rocket science and space medicine. The majority will be more like these misfits.

They’re back: Romanian beggars return to set up camp in Marble Arch a year after they blighted run-up to London Olympics
Group of around a dozen pictured near Park Lane earlier this week
Seen chatting, clutching suitcases and sleeping on the grass
Authorities had long-running battle to remove travellers last summerBy Keith Gladdis
It’s one of London’s most desirable addresses with five-star hotels and fabulous views over Hyde Park.
But the Romanian travellers who have descended on Park Lane are not the most welcome of visitors.
Suitcases in tow, they have taken over a patch of grass near Marble Arch and it is feared they may set up a camp.
A 40-strong band did exactly that a year ago, turning the site into a rubbish dump and being accused of knife-point robberies and other crimes.
Yesterday Richard Owen, who has a burger van at Marble Arch, said the new arrivals were bad for tourism.
He said he had just seen two Romanian women ‘pull their skirts down, squat down and go to the toilet’.
He added: ‘There were tourists going by on those open-top buses, people everywhere, they didn’t care. It was absolutely disgusting.
‘The police don’t seem to be doing anything.
‘All they seem to be doing is going up and checking passports and then just let them go.
However, in another story dealing with vermin, a much happier ending although it should have come lots sooner. Some of you may recall this battle some villagers had with traveller scum last year and the one before that.
Victory for the villagers who ignored death threats, vandalism and the inevitable Left-wing cries of ‘racism’ to force illegal Romany gipsies to leave after 1,088 days
Last of the travellers have leave site in Meriden following High Court battle
Villagers who held round the clock vigil at the site will stage minute’s silence
They faced death threats, had homes vandalised and were labelled racist
Residents were even ordered to remove protest camp by planning officialsBy John Stevens
For 1,088 days they have braved storms, floods, snow and torrential rain to prevent the spread of an illegal gipsy camp on the edge of their village.
But yesterday the villagers of Meriden celebrated victory after the Romanies who threatened to destroy their rural idyll were finally forced to leave.
The triumph is a hard-fought win for the hardy band who have maintained a round-the-clock vigil to stop further development at the camp since April 2010.
At the same time, the residents have faced a long and arduous legal fight to remove the travellers, who have repeatedly used delaying tactics to stay on the site.
Some of the villagers have also faced death threats, had their homes vandalised and been labelled racist.
Last month the gipsies lost their three-year legal battle to stay on the land. A judge at the High Court in Birmingham gave them until the weekend to move and ordered they must restore the West Midlands site to its former state within a month.
Restore the land? I guess the judge is serious if unrealistic. Betcha they won’t. In any event, this one village is, for the time anyway, free of the canker that infested their domain.

This Time You Make A Guess
Guess the motivation I mean. Happy Monday, another multiple murder/mass shooting. Maybe we do need more gun control. Maybe we need anger management classes in all the schools from First Grade on up. Zen meditation and Christian forgiveness and turning the other cheek stuff. Because we seem to be a mighty angry society, whipping out the guns and pulling the trigger all the time, over emotions, not over self defense.
Which is really friggin stupid.
Police say 5, including gunman, killed in Washington apartment shooting
Authorities say five people, including the gunman, are dead after a shooting at a Washington apartment complex that appears to have been sparked by a dispute.
Officers responding to an emergency call at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the apartments in Federal Way encountered a chaotic scene, with bullets flying.
“When officers arrived there were still shots being fired,” said Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.
They found two injured men on the ground in a parking lot. One of the men reached for a gun as police moved in to assist the two, she said.
At that point, officers opened fire. The suspect died but police said it wasn’t immediately clear if it was from their gunfire.
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. –Five people were killed in a shooting late Sunday night at a Federal Way apartment complex, Federal Way police officers said.
According to the Federal Way Police Department, the shooting took place shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pinewood Apartments near 333rd Street and Pacific Highway South in Federal Way. Somewhere between six and 15 shots were fired, and at least two people were down when police arrived.
When police officers went to help one of the men injured on the ground, he allegedly pulled a gun. Police fired back, killing the man. No officers were injured in the incident.
Police officers confirmed three people were deceased in the apartment’s parking lot — including the suspect — and an additional male was found dead in a nearby apartment. No further suspects were being sought, and no one was arrested or in custody.
A law enforcement source said a fight may have broken out in the parking lot of the apartment complex, leading to the shooting.
It may be that all parties involved in this shooting are now dead. So we many never know what this was about. Drugs. Money. Crime. Affairs of the heart. Flash anger. Make a guess.
Federal Way is an area south of Seattle, way down at the end of Puget Sound, right next to Tacoma WA. I don’t know a thing about the place, other than the Weyerhaeuser plywood company having headquarters there.

young girl violates political correctness diktat, police do not prosecute. the sky will fall
England is I guess, experimenting with elected police commissioners and in recent elections, with very low turnout, a lady was elected who, I understand from what I read, has no actual arrest powers. Well anyway, she’s already hired advisers and bought some vehicle of some kind with a sign that reads Ann Force One. Oh clever.
So, this lady hired a young girl who has just turned 17, at a salary of £15,000 ( $22,800.00 ) to be a Youth Crime Commissioner dealing with the yoot of the community. Get their feedback etc. and find out how they thought the police should react with them.
Does this read like a dumb comedy? It’s pretty dumb okay. Ain’t funny though.
What eventually happened was the young girl, who was chosen out of the 164 who were considered, said a few naughty things in her Twitter account that of course the Daily Mail just had to expose in case a bigoted, racist ended up in that job.
Whoever it was at bmews who once asked … what’s it take to get arrested over there,
well I still can’t answer that. Had the question been, what’s it take to get your cell phone confiscated by the fuzz and a full investigation made because 50 idiots were offended by her remarks, oh that’s not hard to answer. Not at all.
Refer to travellers/gypsies as … “pikeys.” ??? Pikey? Even I hadn’t heard that one.
But you guys who read bmews already know they are a protected race. Really.
Then … refer to immigrants as …. “illegals.” Wooo. That might be racist.
Then … when talking about a reality TV show, say that the males on the show all look like f*****g Fags. A-oh. That was foolish. Disaster looms.
She also attacked a pizza company for appointing foreign workers and wrote:
‘F****** hell why are the people from Direct Pizza so difficult to talk too!! IT IS CALLED ENGLISH. LEARN IT.’
Oh god in heaven forbid them learning the language of their host country. We can not have that. Jail the girl.
She did not help herself by Tweeting this.
‘Worst part about being single is coming home from a party/night out horny as **** and having to sleep alone.’
She also said she wanted to make hash cookies, but also claimed it was from an episode of South Park she was referring to.
Thing is, she was maybe 16 when she said all that. But she got into trouble with the law for her remarks about the language and travellers and the fag remark. Oh yes, and equating immigrants with illegals.
So the cops took her phone and launched an investigation because that’s lots easier than finding real crinamolls and anyway, the real crime was violation of Political Correctness.
Well she lost the job but the good news is:
Youth crime tsar who stepped down from £15,000-a-year role will NOT face police action over ‘racist and homophobic tweets’
· Kent Police said it will not recommend that Paris Brown, 17, be charged· Teen was appointed Britain’s first youth police and crime commissioner
· Later resigned after offensive comments found on her Twitter account
· Case did not ‘pass evidential threshold for prosecution’, police said
· The 17-year-old has apologised and denies being racist or homophobic
And that my friends is the state of freedom of speech even when written on a social site. Apparently on a par with shouting fire in a crowded theater, one must be very careful of what one says, or they will knock, knock on your door.
I really do wish she had not apologized.
She called em as she saw them.
Oh yeah … speaking of pikeys.
Another story for another time.

something none of us knew so now we should all feel more secure. I have a bridge for sale….
they happen just about every single day. And I’m sick to death of it.
That was Drew speaking in some frustration. Well now .... r we a team er what?
Drew finds the problem and I find the solution. OK I didn’t but I found the folks who did. It’s all so easy when it’s explained.
So now everyone can relax, pop open a beer or whatever works for you and see this. It explains everything and should any of us become the unfortunate victim of a crime, just remember this and I’m sure we’ll be on the road to feeling better. Sure.
Hey, anyone in the market for a bridge?
Are crooks really criminally minded? Abnormal brain activity ‘means offenders cannot control their behaviour’
Adrian Raine, of the University of Pennysylvania explains findings in The Anatomy of Violence
Criminals have low activity in emotional parts of brainBy Daily Mail Reporter
Criminal activity could be all in the brain, meaning offenders cannot control their behaviour and need treatment to help them stay on the straight and narrow, according to a British academic.
Many repeat offenders, killers and psychopaths share abnormal patterns of activity that could help to explain why they turn to crime, neuroimaging of their brains by Adrian Raine has previously found.
Psychopaths and murderers also have low activity in the front parts of the brain related to processing emotions, self-awareness and being sensitive to violence.
Now, in his new book The Anatomy of Violence, Raine, a criminology professor at the University of Pennsylvania, says that those who commit domestic violence, aggressive teens or lesser offenders also share those abnormalities and keep doing ‘the same wrong things’.
He says: ‘The seeds of sin are brain-based’ but could be tackled with the right treatment.
‘The finding suggests that many people currently being punished for their crimes cannot actually control their behaviour, and should be seen as suffering from a disorder that needs treatment,’ he told the Sunday Times.
Raine and a team of neuroscientists found that the ventromedial prefrontal cortex - a part of the brain associated with decision-making - is found to be shrunken in habitual criminals with psychopathic tendencies.
In repeat impulsive offenders, the part of the brain related to learning from your mistakes - the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex - has been found to be underdeveloped.
Previously, research has shown that low activity in the anterior cingulate is linked to a higher risk of reoffending while shrunken amygdalas, related to emotions and morality, have been found in teenagers with conduct disorders - described by doctors as aggressive and anti-social traits.
These include burglary, violence and pathological lying.
Graeme Fairchild, a clinical psychology lecturer at Southampton University, told the Sunday Times: ‘If the parts of your brain involved in feeling guilt or empathy are damaged, then there is an issue of diminished responsibility. It is too early to use this research in courts,
but we have to ask if they are truly to blame for their behaviour.’

Two people were shot in the leg at Denver’s Civic Center during Saturday’s 4/20 pot rally and a third person was grazed by a bullet.
A man and a woman were both shot, said Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson. Their injuries are not life-threatening. A juvenile who was grazed by a bullet walked to a nearby hospital.
Both victims are in their 20s. They were taken to Denver Health Medical Center.
Police are looking for at least two suspects involved in the shooting. Investigators do not know what sparked the shooting.
Officers are looking for two men. They described the first suspect as a black man who is about 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a Carolina blue baseball cap.
The second suspect was described as a black man wearing a black-and-white checkered shirt.
Denver police officers, who were at the 4/20 rally, ran toward the southeast corner of the park with their guns drawn.
Johnny Lee said he heard the shots during a concert at the rally. He was standing near the theater. He did not hear any shouting or arguments before he heard the shots.
“Everybody started to run,” Lee said. “They were running over people.”
Damontay Wimberly said he heard about seven shots.
“Pow-pow-pow-pow-pow, about seven times,” he said.
Photos and videos at the link. This kind of thing is getting pretty tiresome. Too many acts of spontaneous violence too often. Just about every weekend it seems, now that the weather is getting warmer. Flash mobs, beat downs, shootings. Pulling your assault rifle at McDonalds because they got your order wrong.. Out of control. “feral uprisings”? Somebody give me a better term to use because “chimpout” seems too racist. But the problem is real, regardless of what label you use. Now even stoners can’t get together to get wasted and laze around on the lawn without some idiots drawing down and poppin caps all over the place. Yeah, cuz pot makes everyone violent. Riiight.
And no, BMEWS isn’t out looking for articles like this to post. They go on all the time. Constantly. Most get buried by the media, scrubbed clean and ignored by everyone except the local press. But they happen just about every single day. And I’m sick to death of it.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST KNOW UPDATE
A leopard can’t change it’s spots.
How did that expression ever come about? What induced it’s introduction into our language? What do folks mean when they use it? It can cover many subjects but it mostly concerns people, as I have always understood it.
One of those darn things that caught my eye and I had to drop everything else.
I think the locals in fact do have a bit to worry about.
I would suppose that getting some kids out of their local environment might be a good thing. On the other hand, there is I think a reasonable worry on the part of those referred to as, not in my back yard. The so called justice system is not concerned with justice. Not many people believe they will get help against those who cause problems, and past experiences have proven that to be true.
Then of course there’s the RACE issue which is raised here. Well sometimes that does play a large part and often for very good reason..
Drew put it very well just recently.

The bothersome thing about stereotypes is that they get that way by so often being true. Drew458
And that just may be what the locals have in mind, even if they hadn’t read Drew.
Cause they wouldn’t have to, to understand the truth of it. But hey,
That’s R A A A A C I S T!
Tory town tells Gove super-head: We don’t want your inner-city pupils here
· Top-performing Durand Academy in Stockwell wants to open boarding school in Stedham, West Sussex
· But neighbours aghast and say ethnic minority students will cause problems
· They fear influx of weapons and think local forest will be turned into a ‘sexual volcano’
· But education secretary Michael Gove hits back and slams them for blocking ‘inspirational’ projectBy Ben Ellery
Education Secretary Michael Gove last night stepped into a bitter race row raging over an inner-city school’s plan to open its own boarding school in an affluent rural area.
The top-performing Durand Academy in Stockwell, near Brixton, South London, wants to transport 600 youngsters to a site with stunning views over the South Downs every Monday morning for lessons and bring them back on Friday evenings, free of charge.
It says the scheme will provide them with ‘an Eton-style experience’ and help keep pupils safe from drugs and knife crime.
NOTE: To Americans and others not familiar. Think of the worst part of your own city wherever you are. A place you don’t want to be even in daylight. Well folks, one of those places is Brixton. Especially if you just happen to belong to a guilt ridden race out of favor since the left took charge of everything and invented the race industry. Lets continue.
But the plan has been fiercely criticised by people living near the site – a disused boarding school in the quiet village of Stedham, West Sussex. They have raised concerns about the number of black and Asian students and claimed that youngsters would need to be searched daily for drugs and weapons.
They have also accused Durand’s ‘super-head’ Greg Martin – who has been described as a ‘hero’ by Mr Gove – of ‘spoiling a tranquil place’ by ‘bringing Brixton to the countryside’.
That’s R A A A A C I S T!
But last night Mr Gove’s spokesman hit back and attacked those ‘trying to obstruct an inspirational project’.
His intervention came after a local Tory county councillor expressed fears about the number of ethnic minority students who would attend the school.
John Cherry, 73, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Ninety-seven per cent of pupils will be black or Asian. It depends what type of Asian. If they’re Chinese they’ll rise to the top. If they’re Indian they’ll rise to the top. If they’re Pakistani they won’t.
‘There are certain nationalities where hard work is highly valued. There are certain nationalities where they are uncertain what this hard work is all about.
‘If the children are not allowed out of the site then it will make them want to escape into the forest – it will be a sexual volcano.
‘Has anyone asked whether these children want to be plucked from their natural surroundings? They have never done boarding before, so they won’t know how it works.
OOOOH … DEFINITELY R A A A A C I S T !
He added: ‘Stockwell is a coloured area – I have no problem with that. To be honest, I would far rather Durand took over a secondary school in London rather than shoving everybody here.’
Anne Reynolds, chairman of a steering group which has been set up in the area to fight the plans, also questioned whether inner-city children would feel comfortable in such a rural environment.
She said: ‘It might raise tensions in their community. Their peers might say, “Why have you been chosen to go to a special, smart school in West Sussex but I haven’t?”
‘The whole thing is a massive experiment and I think it will be disastrous. There’s no evidence it will increase their attainment levels. When you’re a teenager, isn’t it too late to start appreciating the countryside? I don’t know if it’s the right environment.’
At a public meeting in the nearby village of Milland, where actor Hugh Bonneville has a home, one unnamed resident said: ‘You must be wary because you are talking about students who will have to be searched daily for weapons and knives.’ Chichester MP Andrew Tyrie is also ‘extremely unhappy’ with the way the project has been handled and has written to Mr Gove asking him to rethink the idea.
Mr Martin, Durand’s director of education, last night described some of the comments from residents as ‘shocking’ but vowed to press on with the scheme. It is hoped the boarding school will open next year.
He said: I’ve heard a few comments made about pupils escaping and I said I’m not building a prison.
‘It’s sad but it makes us want to fight harder for it, and when this councillor sees the hard work and commitment from ethnic minorities I’m sure he will change his tune.
Might this be one of those little “nudges” we have read about in the past year or more. Or am I the only one who actually remembers? I think Wardmom knows cos she mentioned it only recently. Governmental nudges to get us doing things and thinking their way.
‘We want to get pupils away from hanging around the streets of Brixton and Stockwell, where we have stabbings and a constant threat of trouble. It will be very hard to maintain a negative view when you see students working hard and contributing. You will soon realise these are frankly nothing more than baseless prejudices.’
Baseless prejudices? Baseless did he say?
Well, maybe but ....

SOURCE FOR THE TRUTH, DREW.
Update to story above: He resigns with usual I am so sorry I said that.
A Tory councillor was forced to resign last night after suggesting inner-city children from a ‘coloured area’ would not be welcome at a proposed new school in the countryside.
Announcing his resignation last night, he said: ‘My remarks were plainly wrong. They were thoughtless and extremely foolish. I unreservedly apologise and withdraw them. I very much regret the distress this must have caused.’
Labour education spokesman Stephen Twigg called for David Cameron to condemn the comments. He said: ‘When a Tory councillor makes openly racist comments like these, it’s no surprise people still think of the Conservatives as the nasty party.’
Lord Ashcroft, the pollster and former Tory donor, said the party won just 16 per cent of the non-white vote at the general election in 2010. In a hard-hitting critique, he said: ‘We must do better than this – both because we should be a party for the whole country, and because we will find it increasingly difficult to win a majority without them.’
And so once again, the politically correct have their way. But the truth is more than likely he was correct in what he said. He just should not have said it out loud as if he had the right to any sort of free speech. Where the heck did he think he was?

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
It's been a long strange trip without you Skipper, but thanks for pointing us in the right direction and giving us a swift kick in the behind to get us going. Keep lookin' down on us, will ya? Thanks.
- Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
- Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
- Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
- Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere

Oh, and here's some kind of visitor flag counter thingy. Hey, all the cool blogs have one, so I should too. The Visitors Online thingy up at the top doesn't count anything, but it looks neat. It had better, since I paid actual money for it.
