Things I Would Rather Not Know About

ut it appears it’s already out of my control since I clicked on the link for this story to find that Tonya Harding will be wrestling transsexuals.

Sorry, this is too weird on TOO many levels.

The article starts thusly:

The disgraced Olympic figure skater-turned-beefy slugger will face skinny transvestite television personality Daisy D, best known locally for his “Queen on the Scene” antics on the South Florida gossip TV show “Deco Drive.”

Got a headache?  Use cow piss.  Got “female” problems?  Use cow-piss?  Teeth not as white as you’d like?  Use cow-piss.

And so on and so on.

And you still wonder why India really can not jump into 1st world status?

Funnily enough, most of this comes from a cow-belt state of Uttar Pradesh.

Go ahead.  Try again.  Say the first name once more.

What’s that term in English the describes something that sounds like something else?  Onomatopoeia?

Now how did I know that?

Almost Unbelievable!!!

obert “KKK” Byrd, in denouncing President Bush’s recent efforts to re-nominate appointees to the judiciary, compared Republicans to Hitler.

Now, he technically did not use those words but read this:

if the GOP were to succeed in preventing Democratic filibusters of Bush’s nominees, the move would “incinerate” the rights of all senators.

Why else would he use the words “incinerate”?  Those are not normal words one would choose to frame an argument.  But given his background as Grand Keagle of the KKK, who, by the way, hate Jews, it is close enough for me.

Byrd also:

“cited Hitler’s 1930s rise to power by, in part, pushing legislation through the German parliament that seemed to legitimize his ascension.

“We, unlike Nazi Germany or Mussolini’s Italy, have never stopped being a nation of laws, not of men,” Byrd said. “But witness how men with motives and a majority can manipulate law to cruel and unjust ends.”

Byrd then quoted historian Alan Bullock, saying Hitler “turned the law inside out and made illegality legal.”

Byrd added, “That is what the nuclear option seeks to do.”

His spokesman, however, denied it saying:

“the reference to Nazis in a Senate speech on Tuesday was meant to underscore that the past should not be ignored.”

Democrats, meanwhile, are quiet.

What I want is every FUCKING REPUBLICAN SENATOR to stand up and DEMAND this son of a bitch resign.

Remember what Democrats did to Trent Lott?  All he said was:

“we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years, either,”

if Strom Thurmond had been president.  Democrats automatically assumed Lott meant that Blacks would still be slaves.  They somehow “knew” what Lott meant or intended.

But I guess as conservative republicans we can’t “know” what Byrd meant?

Did You See This On The News??

raqis are pissed off and beginning to protest the car bombings taking place in their country.  They are fed up with terrorists.

But I’ll bet it was not on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MSNBC was it?  Hell, I’ll bet even Fox did not show it.

Hollywood Just Does Not Get This

A few days ago I heard a woman call in to a talk show and start ranting about how Hollywood was going to take the Looney-Tunes characters and demonize them.  The host was caught off guard wondering what the hell she was talking about as she, herself, was sounding a bit Looney-Tunes (if you get my drift.)

Well, she’s right.  Hollywood plans to do just that. Imagine a nasty looking Bugs Buggy or Daffy Duck or Elmer Fudd all doing nasty things.  Somehow Hollywood thinks it’ll be a great way to “modernize” the old classics.  it’ll make them “hip”, “fresh.”

But no parents have been asked whether or not this would be appropriate for children given the level of violence on TV today.  Not only that but what else might Warner Brothers be trying to do?  How about showing Bugs in a romantic tryst with Elmer where they end up in bed?  Or maybe have Bugs undergoes an operation to “transform” himself into a female, permanently?  Yeah, don’t even get started on me about how Bugs used to plant big smackeroos on Elmer or even cross-dress.  Somehow it never entered our child minds that this was real back when we were kids.  Today, though? Given what kids learn in school---as opposed to what they SHOULD learn.......................?

Hell, look at the Simpsons.  One of the aunts is going to come out of the closet and declare she’s a carpet muncher.  Why?  What purpose is served in doing this for programming directed at kids if not to desensitize them?

The author nails it with this quote:

While the Simpson producers often say the show is not for kids, Fox knows better - which is why they run the show at 8, when more kids are likely to be watching.  Note to the producers of the Simpsons: if you want to pretend The Simpsons isn’t for kids, don’t make lunchboxes.

TRUE!  How many 14 year olds do you see taking lunchboxes to school?  Zero, right? They are all 6,7,8 year old kids who DO watch the Simpsons.  Again, don’t give me any shit about parental control and how parents can turn the sets off.  I don’t want to hear about it and may even delete your comment if you piss me off enough to display the stupidity of not understanding the argument is not about that but about the blatant lies, hypocrisy and disingenuousness of studios claiming one thing in public and doing something totally different to pervert/subvert our kids.  (yeah, this one REALLY pisses me off enough I’d do so.)

George Soros Gets Bit

oros, the billionaire who tried to unseat President Bush with his millions and millions of dollars in donations to Democrats, is now being sued for allowing vicious dogs on his property to attack a man who was allowed into the grounds to measure the house for new carpeting.

Read about how elitist this bastard is and with what disregard he treats people who he hires.

I hope the carpet guy sues him for $100 million (and then donates 25 million to the Republicans just to rub Soros’ nose in it!)

Why Homosexuals Should Not Adopt

nce again, a deep rooted “feeling” that homosexual adoption is very wrong seems to be justified by research into foster children abuse.

Why is it we must insist on doing things we inherently know are so fundamentally wrong?  And then when studies come up supporting our “misgivings”, those things we can’t really quantify but know, internally are an abomination, we still continue to allow it?

When you have over 30% of foster kids abused by homosexual foster parents, something is terribly, horribly wrong.

Why?  When you consider that only about 3% of the population is homosexual, then what you have is one group of people committing 10 to 11 times more crimes than any other group.

Oh, and incidentally, adoption groups do not ask sexual orientation when matching up adults to kids.  Wouldn’t want to piss off the homosexuals, would we?

One more thing:

The agency would not say whether the information would lead to a change in policy.

How To Shut Up A Liberal

ow often do you hear the argument that CEOs are overpaid?

How often have you felt the same way?

But if a CEO is successful, how much is too much?

Noted economist Walter E. Williams talks about that here.

Maybe one day he’ll write about overpaid CEOs getting severance packages totaling hundreds of millions----even when they’ve failed.  Now THAT’S an injustice!!

The Postman

ne Monday morning a mailman is walking the neighborhood on his usual route. As he approaches one of the homes he noticed that both cars were in the driveway. His wonder was cut short by Bob, the homeowner, coming out with a load of empty beer and liquor bottles.

“Wow Bob, looks like you guys had one hell of a party last night.” the mailman comments.

Bob in obvious pain replies, “Actually we had it Saturday night This is the first I have felt like moving since 4:00 am Sunday morning. We had about fifteen couples from around the neighborhood over for Christmas Cheer and it got a bit wild. Hell, we got so drunk around midnight that we started playing WHO AM I.”

The mailman thinks a moment and says, “How do you play that?”

“Well all the guys go in the bedroom and we come out one at a time with a sheet covering us and only our “privates” showing through a hole in the sheet. Then the women try to guess who it is”, Bob replies.

The mailman laughs and says, “Damn, I’m sorry I missed that.”

“Probably a good thing you did,” Bob responds. ”Your name came up four or five times.”

Will Fossett Make It?

Get live updates on this amazing around the world flight here. Currently, Fossett is halfway between Japan and Hawaii, after starting his trip in California a few days ago (he is flying West to East and has already covered two-thirds of the globe). Here is the most current update ....

After 42 hours of flight, following the loss of 2,600 lbs of fuel in the early stages of the flight, Steve Fossett has decided to cross the Pacific Ocean at least as far a Hawaii.

Despite the earlier loss of fuel that means Steve may possibly not make it back to Salina, he will aim to get as far a Hawaii where he will re-assess the situation. Steve and Mission Control are taking one step at a time.

Steve is nearly in daylight and will to continue have 100 knot tailwinds assisting his flight until Hawaii. After this point, however, the winds are expected to be only around 40 knots, which could cause problems as Steve needs at least 58 knots to make his fuel last all the way in.

Mission Control have also advised Steve to slow his flight speed down to increase overall efficiency, and to conserve fuel.

Steve’s view was that he was still “very hopeful” of making it back to Salina.

The pumping of fuel between tanks will continue. The wing tip tanks have been drained and the pumping of fuel from the mid-wing tanks is nearly complete.

Sir Richard Branson said of the situation: “I think it’s too soon to be confident that he’ll make it all the way around the world… I think by the time he reaches Hawaii we’ll have a pretty good idea of whether he’ll make it.”

Will He Make It?

SCOTUS Confronts God Today

oday, the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments on whether or not it is constitutional for the Ten Commandments to be displayed on government property, or if it is a violation of separation of church and state.

Since the founding of our nation the Ten Commandments have been an important part of our judicial system, and they remain so today. If anyone walks past the front of the Supreme Court they see will Moses carved in stone holding the Ten Commandments. When visitors enter the Supreme Court they must walk through two doors which have the Ten Commandments engraved on them. When the Supreme Court is in session above the Justices is a display of the Ten Commandments.

President George W. Bush is joining with the Texas and Kentucky officials to preserve displaying the Ten Commandment on public property.

This is just another example of how important it is that our nation has judges who will uphold the law of the land and will not try to legislate from the bench. These cases have risen to the Supreme Court because judges at the lower level have tried to impose their personal beliefs, rather than the will of the people.

The case before the United States Supreme Court today is McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky (Docket No. 03-1693) and here are the closing arguments from each side ....

First, from the lawyers for McCreary County of Kentucky ....

The Foundations Display passes every test enunciated by this Court. Whatever test this Court adopts must recognize that an establishment of religion is far different than governmental acknowledgment of religion. The test should include the relevance of historical meaning and tutelage, should comport with the purpose of the First Amendment and should distinguish shadows from real threats. Whether alone or in a contextual display of law as here, the Ten Commandments are part of our history, have not tended to establish a religion, and are consistent with the First Amendment. It is undeniable that the Ten Commandments influenced American law and government. The Foundations Display, which includes the Decalogue, does not violate the Establishment Clause. This Court should reverse, uphold the Foundations Display, abandon or modify the Lemon test, and fashion an objective test for acknowledgments of religion that respects our heritage.

Second, from the ACLU of Kentucky ....

In Allegheny, Justice Stevens suggested that the frieze depicting Moses holding symbolic Ten Commandments would be constitutional because dozens of other great lawgivers are depicted. Id., 492 U.S. at 652-53 (Stevens, J., concurring in part and dissenting in part). But the Counties’ courthouse displays are not displays of lawgivers. They are not a sampling of great moral codes. The only other codes are those establishing the political framework of our republic. Nor do the Counties expose citizens to the teachings of the world’s great cultures and religions, for they display only one Protestant version of the Ten Commandments.

McCreary and Pulaski counties have each posted three different Ten Commandments displays in their courthouses. They initially trumpeted their celebration of Christianity and highlighted the religious components of their displays. They repeatedly have sought to link the Ten Commandments to the formation of America, calling them the precedent legal code, the central historic legal document of the state, the foundation of our legal tradition, and as providing the moral background of the Declaration of Independence. The purpose and effect of the Counties’ actions throughout this litigation, including in posting their third displays, clearly has been to advance religion. For this reason, the third displays violate the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause and this Court should affirm the Sixth Circuit’s judgment.

Keep your eye on this decision as well as the one currently being deliberated on “eminent domain”. The Supreme Court has two momentous decisions to make now. Above all, stay informed (that’s what we’re here for) and contact your Representatives and Senators in Congress!

WTF?????

I like reading articles about blogs and bloggers.  Especially those articles that show how bloggers are becoming a force to be reckoned with vis-à-vis the MSM.

So I saw this and decided to read it. Hell, it’s from Jonah Goldberg, no slouch at article writing and has great credibility in my book.

But imagine my surprise when I read what constitutes an average blogger:

The average blogger, according to a 2003 survey, is a teenage girl who updates her site a couple times a month with the latest 411 about her prom dress or which Olsen Twin she, like, really likes.

So, in a somewhat modified twist of his quote, which one of us, Allan or Vilmar, is Mary Kate and which one is Ashley?

Only you, the reader can decide.

I got dibs on the tuxedo!!!!

(why is it I know this will get the most comments today?)

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
