Mother Nature Is Fickle

Q.  What will Mother Nature do when you mix a bunch of folks together with low lying areas or mountain faults or plains?

A.  Anything she damn pleases, thank you.

You see, Mother Nature is unpredictable.  She does whatr she does because she does.  We can’t predict it.  We can’t stop it.  Since humans have a tendency to congregate together (after all we ARE social animals) for commerce, defense, diversion, and procreation we increase the risk of subjecting ourselves to the whims and vaguaries of nature.  As we multiply and our technology allows, we crowd even more into areas we probably would not have gone to.  For example, just how many people would be living in Arizona, Florida, south Texas, etc. if it were not for air conditioning?  Not much was ever made of the damage done by hurricans taking place in Florida in the 1800s or early 1900s, was it?  Of course not.  There were almost no people here.

If you listen to the MSM you will probably think this is one of the worst natural disasters to befall the human race.

You’re wrong.

Read here where hundreds of years ago over 800,000 died (imagine if it were to happen today when the population is probably 10 times higher?  Or here where just 28 years ago almost 300,000 died in one area of one country.  Lastly, read here to see where almost a million died from floods from ONE river.

More Donation Facts

OK.  Have all you guys (and ladies so inclined) stopped salivating yet from the previous post?  Good.

For days now I’ve heard an awful lot about how at first we were stingy as a country in giving aid to South Asia.  Then in bits and drabs I’d get more data, more statistics, more information.

Fortunately for me, I’ve been spared having to put it all together in one coherent package with this latest from Pat Buchanan.

The main points he makes are:  the UN wants all countries to donate .7% of its GDP to the UN for foreign aid (read:  to give executives in the UN another reason to rob, lie, steal, cheat and otherwise rip-off all those who donate.) By contrast, the US donates .14%.

Kim duToit also put it very well when it comes to this magical “percentage” figure. In his article (at the bottom of the page past all the comments) he imbeds his tongue firmly in his cheek when he asks:

Of course, 0.14% of America’s GDP is a bajillion dollars, give or take a billion or ten, and 10% of Norway’s GDP is about $72.15 (even at our greenback’s current devalued state).

So, dear reader, which would you rather have?  Or better yet, which would the victims rather have?  .7% of nothing or .14% of a shitload of money?  I thought so.

Back to Pat’s article, missing from the MSM’s incessant repetition of the whining from foreign moonbats, is the value of our military’s contribution.  Hell, it ain’t cheap operating a carrier group or flying hundreds of helicopter hours ferrying food and supplies.  Or the value of the billions of dollars given by America’s people to causes worldwide.  Somehow everyone but conservatives, apparently, lose sight of that large “elephant” standing in the room.

Let’s also not forget that while all this is going on we are supporting a large military (many of these pussy countries don’t even have militaries because they expect us to bail their asses out) PLUS we are engaged in a costly war.

Even so, our generosity as a nation knows no bounds.

And don’t even get me started on how little the “brother Muslim” countries like Kuwait, Iran, Libya, Syria, Morocco, Egypt, etc. have given.  And why isn’t anyone bitching at the Chicoms for how little THEY’VE contributed?  And Russia? Korea?  What about the people of Indonesia itself?  Hell, there are about 250 million of those Muslim sheetheads living there.  What kind of generosity are THEY showing their fellows?  Hey, how about Canada?  Anyone know what those frenchy-french loving socialists have given?

Generous (and Gorgeous) Actresses

Say what you want but I think Sandra Bullock is HOT HOT HOT!  I am not sure why but there’s something about her--the face?  the eyes?  the mouth?  the smile?

Anyway, it turns out she’s given more to help tsunami victims than most countries in the world.

How can you NOT like this?

Rats As Big As Cats

(How’s the rest of that go, anyway?)

In the Florida Keys officials are concerned that rats as large as 9 pounds may make it to the mainland and cause an ecological disaster.  They also say no one has come up with an offer for eradicating them.

So why are Boy Scout troop leaders volunteering their boys to learn shooting and hunting skills (reagrdless if badges are given or not) and turn these kids loose with .22 rifles?

Doing The Right Thing

The House yesterday decided to keep the tough standard they used to have (and suddenly waived late last year) for disciplining wayward lawmakers.

This could spell the end of Senator Tom DeLay and reinstate a rule that would force Majority Leader Tom DeLay to step aside if indicted by a Texas grand jury.

Amazingly enough, the move was made by DeLay himself.

The conspiracist in me thinks this may be a ploy because:

1. they know nothing will come of whatever charges have been filed against him ---- or ---

2.  they will not find him guilty out of a sense of “gentlemanly fair play” because he re-instituted the rule (so they’ll spare him) --- or ---

3.  they’re getting ready to fry a big democratic fish and want the rule to be in place to cast his (or her) ass out

News From “Over There”

I first heard from a guy who goes by “LHM” in an email asking me to check out his blog. Since then I’ve been there daily and recommend you do the same.

His views tend to be a bit acerbic especially as it regards the big “sob-fest” we’re being treated to regarding the tsunami and its victims.  But as far as I am concerned he is dead on the money.

bat So from our blogging pal over in South Asia, first I bring you this article he posted about indigenous peoples. \

Sad?  Yes.

Could we have done anything about it?  No!  Many of these tribes resisted our trespass into their territories and way of life.

Bottom line?  Natural selection took its course. Hell, that’ll teach them to be anti-social!

bat Almost as disturbing is this little snippet he found dealing with political correctnesss and Heineken Beer.

bat What the hell, three’s a charm.

Here’s another from him which deals with President Bush’s declaration that flags be at half mast until Friday.  He asks a very provocative (but valid) question:

For what reason should these people be honored? For the simple reason that they died? People die in natural disasters every day. In our parents, grandparents, and our own lifetimes there have been and will be disasters which have dwarfed the present one in terms of death.

Does this presidential proclamation now set a precedent for future natural disasters? Where is the barometer now set? Is the loss of 150,000 lives any more significant than the loss of say 50,000 or 100,000 lives?

I wholeheartedly agree.

Check him out.  Give his site a few hits and keep going back.

bat As if those folks don’t have enough shit in their lives, the “two legged predator” is thriving in the misery caused by the tsunami.  I hope the locals find these guys and practice a little vigilante justice on their asses.

bat If you want to see before and after pictures, click here.

Angry Swedes

Remember that asshole from last week? The Norwegian foron who said we were stingy?  Well, in neighboring Sweden folks are hot under the collar with their government for not mobilizing and getting aid out to Swedes affected by the tsunami until over 2 days afterwards.  One complained saying:

“I am ashamed of being Swedish when I have a prime minister who says that they can’t get more people answering telephones because it is Boxing Day and people have the day off”

I read this and chuckled.  Serves those fuckers right for having a socialist government.

Hmmm, I wonder how much Sweden has donated.

Here, Let Me Piss You Off First Thing In The AM

As if we don’t have enough to be pissed off about, I found this on the wires and also got tips from several readers about it.

Our buddy, our pal, Vicente Fox and his government are now publishing booklets that tell their people how to get into the US illegally. In cxomic book form.  How fitting considering so many of them are semi-illiterate.

You can get more detailed reporting here.

I think it is time to give Mr. Fox a diplomatic “wedgie” and remind him who butters his bread.

Plus we should tell the Customs Service guys that if they see anyone with a comic book, to just let the bullets fly south of the border.

I love their logic:

“The intention is out of concern for human rights. People are doing it anyway. ”

If I read this right, if people “are doing it anyway” we should publish booklets to enable them to KEEP doing it? So, if I snort coke, shouldn’t the government be publishing something that shows me how to do it correctly so I do not hurt myself?  After all, isn’t it related to human rights?

Or if people are in the habit of running red lights, shouldn’t there be something for them so they’d lower their risk factors while still allowing or encouraging them to do it?

Or if kids are engaging in sex we should give them condoms and booklets and classes teaching them about cross dressing, transexuals, carpet munching and anal sex.

HMMMMMMM.......................apparently we do that already.  My bad.

Anyway.........DAMN IT!  This pisses me off.  And our Justice Department does nothing.

Coming Attractions!

Anyone up for another act of ”The Heavenly Poker Game”? You can read Act I here and Act II here. Stay tuned. Act III is almost finished .. sorry it took so long. General “Black Jack” Pershing takes center stage on this one and explains to his comrades the bullshit that went on during and after WWI and then Eisenhower joins the game and gives his side of WWII. Patton has his say (in spades) but Grant and Sherman are confused until Reagan explains it all. Oh yeah .... almost forgot .... someone is caught cheating.

J’ACCUSE!

In the tradition of Emile Zola, I stand before you all and accuse the UN, the EU, the world Media and all the Arab dictators and Mullahs of perfidy, criminal acts and hypocritical behavior that directly bring shame to all mankind. I accuse all of you before God and Man! Stand and hear judgement ....

Kofi Annen, Jan Egeland, Jacques Chirac, Gerhard Shroeder, Vladimir Putin, the world Media, the Arab dictators and mad Mullahs .... as God is my witness, you are all condemned to hell for evermore .... and a day. I accuse you all of high crimes against humanity and the arrogance to believe you can get away with it!

“We’ve already discovered just so far the remains of 400,000 people in mass graves,” said British Prime Minister Tony Blair on November 20 in London. The United Nations, the U.S. State Department, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch (HRW) all estimate that Saddam Hussein’s regime murdered hundreds of thousands of innocent people. “Human Rights Watch estimates that as many as 290,000 Iraqis have been ‘disappeared’ by the Iraqi government over the past two decades,” said the group in a statement in May. “Many of these ‘disappeared’ are those whose remains are now being unearthed in mass graves all over Iraq.”

http://www.usaid.gov/iraq/legacyofterror.html

While you ponder those numbers, consider how many people were estimated killed in the recent tsunami. 130,000 by recent estimates. Do you hear the outcry from the UN and the EU for assistance? Do you hear the “blame-America-first” crowd saying we’re not doing enough? They attack the US even as we pledge $350 million in aid and are first to arrive on the scene with American troops to speed the distribution of relief supplies and actual “hands-on” assistance. The media are wringing their hands over the “tragic loss of human life”. Meanwhile, a former US attorney General flies to Jordan to “defend” Saddam and Arab countries around Iraq are letting insurgents flood across the borders to help in a struggle to return Iraq to the days of Saddam’s butchery. Why?

But compare 400,000 dead under Saddam’s regime to 130,000 dead in the tsunami. Where were the UN and the EU while nearly half a million Iraqis “disappeared”? Answer: participating in crooked dealings under the table with Saddam and trying to stall the US from doing anything about this murderer.

My question to the UN and the EU: why do you treat mass murderers differently than acts of nature? Dead is dead. The hypocrisy is mind-boggling when you compare the two recent events. 400,000 dead in Iraq. 130,000 dead in Indonesia. One gets ignored, justice deferred and even assisted by certain countries and the UN. The other is seen as a “tragic event” and the world wrings its collective hands and weeps crocodile tears. The media treats one (Saddam’s butchery) as a “non-story” and the other (the Tsunami) as a “tragic event”. Would someone please explain the difference to me!!

I say to the UN, the EU, the Media and all the other hyprocrites out there crying their eyes out over the recent tsunami deaths .... BASTARDS! I accuse you! Stand before God and explain why you ignored 400,000 dead in Iraq, yet weep over 130,000 dead in Indonesia! Why did it take you FIFTEEN YEARS to stop the butchery in Iraq, yet you demand overnight relief for Indonesia! In both cases, you rely on the US to do most of the heavy lifting while you verbally abuse us and throw obstacles in our way! What justification can you possible provide for your dastardly acts?

EXPLAIN YOURSELF!
I ACCUSE YOU ALL!

I Agree With The Town On This

A woman wants to open a home business in her neighborhood.  The city council says, ‘NO!”

She is fighting City Hall attempting to buttress her argument for the license by saying massage houses or dermatology businesses are currently allowed in residential areas.

Why am I in support of City Hall?  Becasue if I lived in that neighborhood I would not want to see signs saying, “get you colon flushed here!” or something to that effect.  Plus it would be a bit unsettling watching the folks parading in and out of her home after having gotten the hydro roto-rooter performed on them.  Visions of:

“Hey, there’s the mayor!”

“Look at that, the School Superintendent has been here every day for the past month!”

“Grandma?!?!?!”

Call me weird.  Call me wacky.  But I draw the line at that one.

Avoiding Telluride

And all other places that pride themselves in celebrating such actions.

From those whose political persuasions are always accusing conservatives of being intolerant and a bunch of bullies, well, guess who’s doing the bullying now?

The homosexual, et. al. community have their collective knickers in a twist because a guy in Telluride advises families not to come visit because the city is sponsoring a homosexual ski week (sorry, I will not use the “g” word.  It’s been corrupted by those who really are not.) They are outraged.  They accuse him of being intolerant, hateful, offensive, racist, homophobe.

Somehow, though, the actions of these people is not seen as “HATEFUL” against him nor “INTOLERANT” to his views nor “OFFENSIVE” in that they can’t tolerate a hetero/family view nor “HETEROPHOBIC.”

I hope everyone takes heed and does not go to Telluride. I sure the hell would be pissed off to no end to find out I booked a peaceful vacation skiing the slopes only to find a bunch of openly homosexual activities going on.  Last thing I need is several days on the slopes with Billy and Jimmy lip-locked in front of the fireplace or practicing some new dance act on the slopes or streets full of cross-dressers and mincing-Bobs.
