God In The News

Depending on your point of view, this could be considered to have one of those “good news, bad news” angles.

I’ll let you decide.

We start with a story of a guy in Thailand who, having survived the tsunami, joins up with some friends and put together a “Thank God We Survived” party.

Police came and beat the shit out of him because he did not have ID.

OBTW, this happened NOT in Thailand but in Vancouver!

Our next story is about “thank God for GPS!”

Before you think this will be some sort of smarmy story about finding a lost waif in the depths of a cold forest full of wolves---it’s not.

It IS, however, about stupid men who forget that while in a government vehicle, they are subject to more than casual means of surveillance while in the performance of their duties.

This guy goes to Dunkin’ Donuts and flashes a worker.  In a government vehicle!!!  Well, the department of transportation was contacted, they fired up their GPS, tracked his position for that time of day, found the guy and cops arrested him.

Your mission, dear readers, is to determine which one of these is good news and which is bad.

The Check’s In The Mail

Jan Egeland, the UN’s Norwegian fudge-packer is at it again. Mr. Bloviated Bullshit is now saying that nations who pledged money to aid tsunami victims better get on the ball and get the money flowing to him and Kofi so they can vacation in the south of France alleviate the suffering in Southeast Asia.

Donor nations must speed up delivery of aid pledges for the Asian tsunami relief effort and face public shame if they fail to live up to their promises, a top UN official told a key conference.

Jan Egeland, the UN emergency relief coordinator, said that of 3.4 billion dollars of formal aid pledges, only 300 million dollars had been committed so far to projects, programmes and assistance on the ground.

....

At the same time, he insisted other crises, notably in Africa, must not be neglected.

“It would be the ultimate disappointment for us and tragedy for the victims in all those other areas, where we are struggling to keep programmes going on existing levels of assistance, were they to suffer.”

I have only one question: what kind of panty-waisted, mealy-mouthed faggola would spell “programs” like that?

It’s All About Content

People occasionally ask us how we can be considered a socially redeeming blog with any real purpose in the blogosphere when all we do is harass Liberals, Leftists, Democrats, Hollyweirdos and Terrorists. The people asking this numb-nuts question are almost always Liberals, Leftists, Democrats, Hollyweirdos and Terrorists who are whining, crying and pouting over their spilled election milk.

To them we have only one reply .... usually something like “fuck off and die, moron”. Then again, occasionally we educate them by showing them what a totally useless blog site really is.

Good News And Bad News

Official Announcement From The BMEWS Secretary Of War

The Bad News: Last week I promised to post Act III of “The Heavenly Poker Game”. I have it completed and it has been burning a hole in my hard drive ever since last week. The bad news is that I will be unable to post it just yet. More on the reason below ....

The Good News: Last week, one of our readers suggested I see if I could get it published. I really didn’t think I could but I submitted it to four publishing houses just to see. The good news is that I have attracted interest from a major publishing house and am currently in negotiations to turn the two previous posts and the current one into a full novel. In other words, they loved it. Until I conclude negotiations regarding advance and date of publication, etc. I am bound to hold off posting this “beautiful piece” (their words).

For the record, the publisher is Regnery Publishing. They have published books by Oliver North, Newt Gingrich, David Horowitz and many other conservative authors. Right now I am swollen up on an ego trip like a great big ol’ horney toad stuffed on flies .... uhhh, scratch that visual image.

Anyway, you can probably imagine how I feel right now.

One point I am negotiating is the right to publish excerpts here for all you great folks. Stay tuned. I’ll keep you posted as this develops. I just got the news this afternoon in a phone call and I’m still floating on air.

Call The ACLU!!!!

Cheerleading is torture!!!

Ban it in all the schools NOW!!!  We can’t let our children be victimized by these horrible acts.  They will be traumatized and require counseling until they die of natural causes.

I love this lawyer!!  (OK, OK, usually I hate lawyers but I’ll make an exception for this guy) He says what our troops did to those raghead terrorist prisoners is nothing more than what cheerleading squads do in practice and at ball games.

He’s got a point.  Of course, the MSM will not let this story go.  Then again, anything to keep from reporting what happened to Dan Blather or why he did not show up for work or that CBS has been caught in one of the most fraudulent bits of reporting in decades intended to bring down a president through malicious lying and document falsifications.  In the past we’d kill people for doing that.  Ahhh, for the good ole days!

Antarctic Icebergs and Envro-Weenies

I’ve spent a few weeks in New Zealand while on my way to and from Antarctica to do seasonal work It’s a beautiful country and I enjoyed myself.  So when I see news articles about it, I click to read them.

Which is why this article caught my eye. The salient points are these:

1.  this summer is one of the coldest in decades
2.  February, August and December are notorious for having strong south to southwest winds
3.  Antarctica is due SOUTH

The article is about iceberg sightings off New Zealand and I could tell by reading this that scientists were chomping at the bit to attribute all this to global warming.

Yet they casually seem to ignore more facts:

1.  iceberg sightings were far more common in the 1800s because the Panama Canal was not yet built so ships HAD to take that route
2. cloud cover obscures more recent sightings of icebergs from the air and satellite

I’m just a layman but when you have chunks of the Ross Ice Shelf the size of Connecticut (4500 square miles) break off and it becomes mobile, you can fully expect to see MANY icebergs resulting from it and they will head north.

Oh, and try this at home.  Make a sheet of ice 18x48 inches and about 1/4 inch thick.  (how you do this is your problem so just play along, OK?) Set it on top of a table.  (Be quick now or it will start to melt unless you are playing inside a walk-in freezer.) Now, start sliding the 18 inch side over the lip of the table.  You know what’s coming, right?  If you keep doing so eventually the weight of the ice suspended over the edge will break off.  Hey, I didn’t invent gravity!

But that’s exactly what’s going on in Antarctica.  The Ross Ice Shelf comes off the continent and hangs suspended over the ocean.  Eventually, it, too, will break off chunks.  And last I checked, the Shelf is about the size of Texas, something like 450 miles wide by 560 miles long (260,000 square miles).  A chunk the size of Connecticut is relatively insignificant.

One more thing these moonbats won’t talk about:  the Ross Ice Shelf is now the same size it was in 1911.  So if we were making the earth hotter all last century, how come the ice mass kept increasing?

NOTE:  I almost posted this yesterday but held off.  Then later in the day I came across this fascinating story.

That HUGE Connecticut sized iceberg mentioned above?  Well, it’s broken up a bit and the biggest chuck is the size of Rhode Island.  It is also on the move and due to crash into the Drygalski Ice Tongue just somewhat northwest of McMurdo Station on Ross Island.  If you want more info on life in Antarctica, click here. I remember when it first broke off how the scientists were all excited.  Then it lodged itself against a couple of islands in a north-south attitude and the biggest fear of the National Science Foundation was what would have to be done should that iceberg break free and its northern tip move counterclockwise and lodge against the continent proper.  That would block all access to McMurdo and force an evacuation of the station and possibly the South Pole since no re-supply could take place by ship.  (Icebreakers don’t stand a chance against a 100 mile long, 10 mile wide, 1500 foot (plus) thick berg)

Anyway, the article basically confirms what I say above:

Scientists believe that the enormous piece of ice broke away as part of a long-term natural cycle (every 50-to-100 years, or so) in which the shelf, which is roughly the size of Texas, sheds pieces much as human fingernails grow and break off.

Disturbing

This took place at one of our universities. Amazing how “tolerance” only applies to those who are conservative Christian s against homosexuality and abortion.

It’s a one-way liberal street wherein no liberal need walk.  They can be as intolerant as they care to be in matters and characteristics listed above.

This is plainly evident by the article written here.  I wonder if the parents will sue the school?  Hey, isn’t the liberal mindset one where anyone other than the individual is responsible for what happens?  And since it’s a large institution it should have “LOTS OF MONEY.” With some luck maybe the parent can bankrupt this place.

While you’re at it, read the companion piece. Equally disturbing for how it portrays life in academia.

FRAUD!! FRAUD!! FRAUD!!

Where’s Jesse Jackson and all his race-baiting buddies?  Where’s the ACLU and NAACP?  Where’s the outrage from Democrats for all the REAL, LIVE, LEGITIMATE, LAW-ABIDING voters who were TRULY “disenfranchised” by this fraudulent election in Washington?

Probably still in Florida and Ohio inciting the “coloreds” into thinking they’ve been ripped off.

This one will piss you off.

This one should give you hope.

You Don’t Say!!!

Anyone with half a brain in their head could have told you about this but I swear to God, as much as I love this country, I think it is populated by a bunch of fucking morons.

Why is it that when we go to the ballot box we vote with a guilty conscience thinking that if we throw more money at something it will get better?  Yet all the while we leave our common sense at home and refuse to demand what REALLY must be done?

I refer to the recent spate of class size movements prevalent in the US.  The thinking is if we reduce class size then kids will learn better.

It’s what the educated shit-for-brains in the department of education (an oxymoron if one ever existed) tell us over and over.  What they FAIL to address is teacher “rights” in the classroom---the right to summarily suspend a student for being disruptive.  The right to “discipline” pain-in-the-ass kids with essays, extra work, detention, classroom cleanup, etc.  But we can’t do that as it demeans those little cretins’ sense of worth and hurts their “feelings.”

So now there’s a study that proves what we all know intrinsically to be true--SIZE DOES NOT MATTER!  (HEY!!! Get your mind out of the gutter!  We’re talking classroom size!!)

Hell, when I was in school our class sizes were huge.  Bu the kids behaved---or else.

The problem today is that we no longer have “or else.” What we have instead is too many parents who would rather believe their devil spawn kids than a teacher.

A Case For Mandatory “Parenting Licenses”

If ever there was a case to force people to pass tests before they could bear children, this is one of them.

Just when I thought I’d heard or seen it all, I was once more shocked.  This is not “instinctive” behavior.  It is learned.  But by a 6 year old?

So what happens?  The school suspends the kids!  In actuality, the parents ought to be locked away forever.  Ohh, and sterilized first so that, just in case, they won’t procreate in jail, either.

Snoops

What do you think the people in the picture below are doing? Listening to FM radio? Listening to the Lakers game? Wrong. They are listening to you screaming at your kids while you’re on hold waiting for your cable TV company to solve your problem.

image

Here is the terrible truth from the New York Times ....

MELVILLE, N.Y. - It is the opening line on so many phone conversations these days: This call may be monitored for quality assurance purposes.

The taped message is so common that many callers might assume that no one is ever listening, let alone taking notes. But they would be wrong.

Monitoring is intended to track the performance of call center operators, but the professional snoops are inadvertently monitoring callers, too. Most callers do not realize that they may be taped even while they are on hold.

It is at these times that monitors hear husbands arguing with their wives, mothers yelling at their children, and dog owners throwing fits at disobedient pets, all when they think no one is listening. Most times, the only way a customer can avoid being recorded is to hang up.

“You could have a show on Broadway just playing the calls,” said Mike Schrider, president of J.Lodge, a call monitoring service based in Hammonton, N.J.

Call monitors eavesdrop on millions of exchanges a year, and listening to the mumblings and rants of people on hold comes with the job. Over all, about 2 percent of the hundreds of millions of calls made to call centers are monitored by a company’s own managers or, increasingly, by third-party monitoring companies, which have come on the scene in the last couple of years.

....

As more call centers move offshore, companies are starting to outsource the monitoring, too. From any corner of the globe, call monitors with just a computer and an Internet connection can oversee workers virtually anywhere. For instance, Mr. Pike on Long Island listens to service agents in India who may be talking to customers in Indiana. Monitors in Britain are likely to listen to customers in New York talking to German operators in Frankfurt.

The moral of this story: Be careful what you say on the phone while on hold .. Pepe Le Snoop in Paris is listening.

RatherGate: I Told You So

On September 20, 2004 after Dan Rather confessed the documents were fake, I made six predictions. I was 100% correct.

The LA Times is reporting today that Rather threw Mary Mapes to the wolves .... just like I said he would.

Rather told the head of CBS News, Andrew Heyward, he knew the story was so controversial as to be “radioactive,” according to the report on the story and its failures released Monday by an independent panel.

But what Rather also told the panel — and what became a central finding of the review — was that he had extreme confidence in Mary Mapes, the award-winning producer who was putting together the Air National Guard story. The powerful alliance of Rather and Mapes helped power the flawed story onto the air, according to the 224-page review of the CBS story by former Atty. Gen. Dick Thornburgh and Louis D. Boccardi, former president of Associated Press.

As a result, CBS on Monday fired Mapes and asked two other producers and a vice president in its news division to resign. The moves brought praise as well as complaints that others deserved rebuke, particularly Heyward and Rather, for decades the most public face of the network’s news operation.

I told you so.

  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
