A popular knave is still a knave, old chap. As for the two Georges, perhaps they are more interested in the sort of popularity indicated by a certain pair of recent elections.
As for the choice of a “point man” in the tsunami relief effort, he should be someone with appropriate experience in such matters. This is no task for amateurs, even popular ones.
