  1. There’s been a civil war going on in Iraq for some time now.  This attack is the one that has been feared for months.  It may be the tipping point that finally pushes the Shiites over the edge.

I have no doubt that Syria or Iran are responsible for this bombing.

Where’s the outrage of the Arab “street” over the destruction of a mosque?  Our guys have to be super careful even when a mosque is used as an arms warehouse or a bunker.  Again, where’s the outrage?

Oh, wait, the Shias are considered apostates by the Sunnis.  So its OK to slaugheter them and destroy their shrines.

The Religion of Peace continues to show it’s true colors.

  2. Who ever did this did a remarkably good job of defacing the shrine. I am inclined to think that there is a bit more to this story.  Interesting that Muslims place such a high value on material things to underscore spirtual values.

  3. I’m wondering if the “insurgents dressed as police” angle is just a cover story. The same damage could have occurred if the explosives stored in the basement went off by accident. And it seems that every one of these super-holy buildings is used as an arms cache. No, I’ve got zero proof of this, haven’t even heard a rumor. But the percentages are totally in my favor.

  4. We should back the Kurds in setting up a new homeland and let the Shiite kill off the Sunnis in Iraq.

  5. Ahhhh, yes.... the religion of peace, strikes again… My bet is that the iranians did it, as yet another provocation.

  6. I’m not too worried who did it. Muslims killing muslims. I won’t lose sleep over that, but I do go along with OCM. We need to have a fast exit strategy. Next thing they will blow up the mosque in Jerusalem and blame it on the Jews. That would really get them going.

  7. Yes, it probably was just the weapons cache going off but the msm wants to create the civil war that just wasn’t happening fast enough for them.
According to stories I’ve heard from returning Marines and Army guys more than 60% of the ‘insurgents’ aren’t Iraqi at all. This is all ‘outsiders’ stirring up the pot. Which the only advantage of that is, that we can kill them/arrest them all in Iraq and not have to go into any of the other sesspools over there.

I would love to find out that the msm is busy in syria, iran and other ‘hot’ spots planting anti-American or muslim baiting stuff just to keep this ‘jihad’ going. I wonder if moo-on.org is sending ‘donations’ just to help along their bringing down the Bush administration???

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  8. That is a rather lot of damage, to have been done by a few terrorists wearing some fake cop’s uniforms, unless they were driving a tanker truck full of explosives, or, as previously mentioned, the arms cache in the backroom went off quite by “accident”.  WTF, just let the barbarian savages kill each other off, the less of them that remain alive, the better it will be for the civilized world.

  9. I think i am having one of those days...when i read this , hear about, see the live footage , and think...OMG....if it’s not one thing over there...it’s another...and my mind feels tired from thinking about it.

I tend to agree with Maj Mike, (#2), there HAS been a civil war going on over there for a while now, this is just highly possible the straw that will break the proverbial camels back…

I can certainly, and quite seriously entertain the thought that Syria and Iran, along with Al Queda in Iraq, are working in concert to escalate the civil war to an explosive level.

At this point, I will be VERY surprised if it does not turn into a full blown, and very ugly civil war.The sunni and shiite have been at one anothers throats for hundreds of years, with kurds in the mix, along the border with Turkey. If the muslim world went nuts over cartoons, mosques will be set point.

The only way i see a major civil war being diverted?

If the religious leaders can get the frenzy de-escalated.

Unfortunaly, I DON’T see that happening.

  10. Drew, I am STILL thinking about your suggestion that a explosives cache might have been the cause...it was one of the more interesting ideas advanced all day.
