1) still on the fence as to whether this season is a liberal kook dream (ala Homeland ‘camps’ and the negotiating with terrorists for a ‘greater good’) crap or if it is to teach those liberals a lesson when it is all for naught.
2) my hubby (who doesn’t watch it but caught the last hour with me last night) agree, if Jack could see the ‘cloud’ he’d be hurting big time. Come on guys be a little more realistic.But I agree, only thing better would be nuking either seat of complete liberal insanity San Fran or NYC.
I can’t force myself to watch such silly unbelieveable programming. Instead I focus on serious shows like LOST and Survivor!
People are bitching that Jack is wimping out. Hey, 20 friggin’ months in a Chinese torture (I mean real torture, not Abu Grabass), left to rot and the only reason the gummint whose ass you have saved over and again at the cost of losing your family, being “dead” for two years, nearly getting killed every time you turn around, never taking a piss or a dump, the only reason the gummint springs your sorry butt from the chinks is so you can get back and, within an hour, get tortured to death by a terrorist.
The nuke was a 1 kt yield. You could be quite close enough to see the cloud and be okay-ish depending on the winds. Don’t know the LA geography well enough to know where everyone was in relation to Valencia.

Rickvid—Valencia is 25+ miles and two mountain ranges separated from downtown LA. The folks in downtown probably wouldn’t have even seen a 1kt NUDET, much less been affected by any blast or heat effects. All that got “nuked” last night was an amusement park and a bunch of yuppie tract houses....
Hell, Granada Hills is 5 miles and one mountain range separated from Valencia, although there is a mountain pass that more-or-less connects the two. It’s the same mountain pass which carries I-5 and has the I-5/CA-14 junction, you know, the one that collapsed in 1971 and was rebuilt to withstand an earthquake...then collapsed again in 1994.
BTW, there is no “15th Street” in Granada Hills, unless one’s been added since I moved away 20 years ago....it’s inattention to little details like that that drove me away from ‘24’ two years ago. I may give it another shot after last night’s start but my skepticism level is still set pretty high.

If the bad guy turns out to be the usual ‘Evil White Halliburton Guy’ this season: I’m A) pissed off and B) done with it.
The problem with the ‘good’ vs ‘evil’ Muslim angle that is going to be central the theme of 24, is that BOTH follow the same facist ‘religion’ - except that the ‘good’ Muslims choose not to implement the facist doctrine out of ignorance, laziness or selfishness. Even when all the ‘extremists’ are eliminated, new ones are sure to grow out of the doctrine. You can’t kill a weed by cutting off its leaves, you have to kill the roots. - Have a look at the BBC ‘inside the mosque’ hidden camera documentary to see just what the moderate muslims are up to.
