When I lived in Singapore, I remember two news items from my first days there:
1) The Indians were putting snapping turtles raised on carrion so that they would eat the corpses dumped in the Ganges, but leave the bathers alone;
2) Fellows using “Eastern Toilets” (aka: porcelain slit trenches) would get bit in the balls by pythons that would come up out of the sewer pipes.
Beast with Two Backs, from one source, no further checking:
“What is the origin of “making the beast with two backs”? (What is the origin of “making the beast with two backs”?
(Folklore/proverbial expressions)
This is euphamism for sexual intercourse. It is commonly believed that Shakespeare coined this phrase on “Othello”, “...your daughter and the Moor are now making the beast with two backs...”

A pat on the back for knowing how to use a search engine. Sorry, we’ve no budget for real prizes.
A pat on the back is better than a stab in the back, if we are reading our email from veterans correctly.
