  4. This is a no-brainer (which means the lawyer is planning to twist some minor detail into ‘mental illness’ and needs some leeway). If Clark was diagnosed schizophrenic and was prescribed medications which he then stopped taking and led to the hallucinations - bingo. Since this apparently didn’t happen and we are at the Supremes, I smell a cop killer who doesn’t want to face execution. Too bad, don’t shoot cops. And perhaps if he had just gone with the voices in the head crap, he’d had made the mental illness ploy work.

It’s all in the details, just throw in one simple one - when you started adding too many or too wild - rational people can see through it.

Did I tell you I got my MD in psychiatry from John Hopkins back when I went on the GI bill from my time in ‘Nam??

By the way, thanks to this jokers lawyer and Hinckly’s for making those of us who do suffer from mental/emotional illness continue to hide it in the shadows so we don’t get equated with jokers and killers like these.

  5. Comrades,

Yeah, I know ALL about the Vietnam Veteran stigma.....

Do you remember back many years to the loony who shot a bunch of folks in a McDonald’s resturaunt in California? I was watching CNN when it happened, and the first question out of the f*cking anchor’s mouth to the onscene reporter was : “Was the shooter a Vietnam Veteran?” I could have puked right there and then. Thank you so much John Kerry and Oliver Stone.

There are certainly folks who suffer from mental illness, and they deserve our compassion, even when they commit heinous crimes. Those, however, who try and dodge personal responsibility through false attribution to mental illness, or “my daddy beat me” arguments deserve our spite and whatever the court hands down.

wardmama4, thanks for all your hardwork. I’ve seen the faces in the VA hospitals and I know it ain’t easy. You have my deepest respects.

    respects to all,

    Gwedd

  6. The scary thing (at least for me) was that I was at that same McDonald’s in San Ysidro in the summer month of August, they year before it got shot up.

Also only about a hand-grenade’s throw from the Mexi-border… angel_devil
