Silly Season Indeed

  1. What’s the diff between Bush’s terrorism threat advisory and this new ‘every storm is the Storm of the Century’ crap. We have a warning thing in the house - it’s gone off almost every day over the ‘flood advisory’ - Yeah it’s been raining hard for 10 days straight - big surprise that it’s flooding.

These systems are becoming like car alarms - no one pays attention - but really want to pick up a baseball bat and smash the hell out of it.

And that’s what gets people killed - complacency.

  2. Got that right. In order to give themselves validity, the weather people have amped everything up to a near emergency.

Now that they have hi-def radar that can spot individual flashes of lightning, they just go bananas with every thunderstorm. The truth is that it is only now that people are learning how thunderstorms actually work at the low level, with these micro-cell things all over the place. But the weather folks treat each one as if it’s Dorothy’s own tornado in waiting. Not like anybody with eyes can’t actually see how the undersides of the storm clouds are roiling; this is nothing new. But every one of those sets off an alarm on your weather app, and it’s WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE RIGHT NOW. Idiots.

This is why I call them the Chicken Little Weather Wienies. Much ado about nothing, almost all the time. It also pushes the Global Warming agenda, which they have not backed off on one iota at The Weather Channel. It is their Holy Writ to which they ascribe everything.
