  2. OK. GOOD NOW.

I saw this this in the Wash. Times this morning and thought, who cares? This Baseyev guy is an evil mutherfucker! It’s probably for their own safety that ABC gets blacklisted. They should have consulted with the Government over there first - I mean IT IS Russia, after all!

They guy from the U.S. Dept. of State condemned the decision by the Russian government to limit the network’s ability to work inside Russia, and I thought, WTF?

They don’t have a Bill of Rights in Russia!

  3. Exactly.  Bingo. Right on the head, Skipper.  I’m all for 1st amendment protections, but I’m really tired of pressies, esp. TV types, acting as though they have a right to walk through a firefight, commit sedition or treason, sympathize with disgusting people and practices, yet act indignant if they are shot at, arrested or punched in the nose in connection with their behavior.  “Can’t you see my press badge?  So move aside, let me up to the front of the line, I’m gonna block your view of the play, I don’t care if I trample your yard and you’re grieving, how do you really feel, kingsies, time out, part the waters, etc.”

Those Assholes vultures need to be thrown out of a lot of other places until their behavior and ethics improve.

  4. Not having seen the ABC piece, I don’t feel qualified to discuss it. I’ve heard from others that it was a puff piece on this child murderer. As it happens, the Rott has posted a couple of pics to remind us. Here’s one of them.

I was going to make a case for asking this creature some hard questions but after looking at those pics again I don’t see any reason to interview or give any air time to creatures who would shoot little children as they ran away. This is worse than the Damn Blather Saddam interview by a long shot.

As to the biasedselective reporting we’re subjected to. Mamamontezz demonstrates it very well. Read the whole piece.

  5. What it all comes down to is playing the game by Russia’s rules. We may not agree with ‘em on a few issues, but it’s Russia’s rules! If ABC can’t work with that, fuck ‘em!
I hope Peter Jennings and Co. are shitting their pants right about now!

  6. OCM, you’re quite right but the idea of splashing images of war and the agony involved is being directed at the wrong people. The media needs to broadcast 24 hour coverage in Arabic and Farsi to every country in the Middle East showing the horrors of war. Show the blown up bodies of suicide bombers. Show the human carnage. Rub it in their faces. After all, we here in America and the other “civilized” countries know too well the horrors of war. Over there in the Third World, all they know is what their religiosu leaders preach and tell them - namely, how glorious it is to carry the war to the infidel and how Allah will give them special treatment in heaven for blowing themselves up. We need to combat their lust for war, not ours. 99% of the people in America would prefer to just get on with our lives and not have any wars anywhere and 99.999999999% of our military personnel would prefer not to have to fight another war.

    peace

  7. Of course no one here mentions the fact that the Russian Army is one of the most murderous institutions on Earth. They’ve murdered about 10% of the entire Chechen population through shelling the capitol, Grozny, to the ground and various other things. Rapes, torture and extra-judicial executions are very common and the people weep for only a few hundred dead Russian children while complaining about those monstrous Chechens.

Where are the tears for the tens of thousands of Chechen children that have been massacred by the Russians? The Russians, unlike the US, don’t care about civilian casualties. The regime that exists today in Russia is fundamentally the same as the Perastroika-era Soviet government. And let’s not forget the fact that the Chechens are not ethnic Russians and were conquered 150 years and subjected to horrendous treatment during what many Russians call their glory years as the Soviet Union.

The Chechens are wrong, but the Russians are a hell of a lot more wrong. Their government is worse than any of the murderous dictatorships that has ever existed and is to blame for most of the terrorism around the world today. The Russians are the ones who organized and trained the predecessors to the modern Islamists, all to fight America.

It’s amusing to me that people say what about the innocent Russians that have been blown up in Moscow. I say the first question should be what about the large number of Chechens that have been blatantly massacred by that butcherous barbarian horde that Russia euphemistically calls a modern army?

  9. I once met a guy in a coffee shop, said he was the “Public Editor” of our local liberal fish wrap.
Was using the right name, at least.

We talked about letters to the editor, and he told me he “NEVER reads them.” (emphasis his)
Only checked them for spelling an copy space.

He didn’t give a thought to what the letters said because they had been written by a bunch of illiterate cry babies.

    I didn’t hit him, as I regularly write in…
I just Paid my check and walked away.

    Why do I do that?
