  1. Well now Drew, you could move to a place with less snow. Like Ca. or Arizona.
Right. I can just see you living in the same state with gov. brown. Not.

Your comments on the turmoil in Egypt and that part of the world is very, very good.
    Analysis is spot on.

As you will imagine, we get a LOT of it here in the news and running commentary from ppl on the scene. It really does seem hopeless. Weevil analogy great and never saw that man in black thing so thanks for that too. Where do find this stuff? Are you spending even more time at the board then I imagined you already did?

    Damn good post.

  2. This is what happens when you 1) have a World where so many people are dependent on handouts - what’s a layabout to do but complain and riot once in a while, 2) as you say - feed good money after bad, there is so much waste in our gov - that is why an across the board cut (foreign and domestic, defense and entitlement programs) will be a good start to teaching the gov - don’t be so damn fast to whip out that credit card, and 3) being a real Leader is hard work.

I believe that in foreign affairs, given the muslim angle and that The Won is attempting to get us the heck out of dodge - he will go for Voting Present once again.

And it will all go to hell eventually - or he can back the people and watch it go to hell even faster.

And unbeknownst to the taxpayers - that 1.5 billion will still be funneled to them - to come back at us in the form of a terrorist attack at some later date.

  3. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but events in Egypt show the importance of Bush’s Middle East ‘Freedom Agenda.’

“Sixty years of Western nations excusing and accommodating the lack of freedom in the Middle East did nothing to make us safe - because in the long run, stability cannot be purchased at the expense of liberty,” Bush said. “As long as the Middle East remains a place where freedom does not flourish, it will remain a place of stagnation, resentment and violence ready for export.”

Of course, the Bush administration at times bowed to geopolitical pragmatism, but in general he had it right.

Unlike the empty suit currently taking up space in the Oval Office…

  4. re: the weevil puns…

A mushroom walks into a bar, sits down and orders a drink. The bartender says,’ We don’t serve mushrooms here.’ The mushroom says,’ Why?! I’m a fun guy!

    shut eye

  5. Good quote there CenTex, thanks!

A string walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender looks at him and says “Get out of here, we don’t serve strings in this bar!”

The string goes outside, ties himself up in loops, rubs himself against a brick wall, and goes back into the bar and orders a beer.

The bartender looks at him and says “Beat it! I told you we don’t serve strings here, and you’re a string!”

The string says, “Sorry, I’m a frayed knot.”
