If you want good beer, there’s only one place to get it - Germany. The domestic versions of the German beers we get here are a lot different and very good. In Germany, you can taste the malt, hops, etc., each distinctly taking part in the flavor.
These were imports. German label and packaging. And freshness coded too. Nope. Whatever they put in the bottle just wasn’t very exciting. Bland stuff, and very expensive. And it’s the price that offends ... we can get Dab, Dinkelacher, and a dozen other German, Austrian, Bavarian, Belgian imports for no more than Sam Adams. The Kolch beers were priced up there with the Trappist monk stuff from Belgium, all the fruit flavored wonder ales. And it just wasn’t even close to worth it.
