  1. I’m sure there are MANY folks who can tell you I’m wrong here,Turtler comes to mind, but here is what i know about the Saudi royals and how they judge Israel.
The old regime, of which all the original brothers are part of,out of respect for their father Ibn Saud, are willing to do whatever is required to maintain the family rule.If this requires help from a philisophical enemy, aka,Isreal, than so be it.In order to maintain a front to the rest of the muslim world they allow the Ulema, aka, the imams who control all moral aspects of the kingdom to spread the shit we all consider fucked up and dangerous. There is a new group of leaders taking shape in Riyhad from amoung the sons of those brothers. They see that as things stand, the greatest threat is indeed the Persians to the north and Not the jews to the west. So along with the old guys they too are willing to make the enemy of my enemy my friend.
Now while the Saudi’s have more money than god , the new guys know that the faith of the ummah in them maintaining the Sacred places is more important at the moment than a doctrine of killing jews and will, for the most part,ISIS excepted, condone allowing the Saudi family to make temporary political trade offs. The war between jew and muslim is old and deep, but access to Mecca & Medina are all things to the Ummah, and the Saudi’s subsidies millions who travel to make the Pilgrimige. This in itself has created millions of loyal Sunni who will do what is needed to support the Saudi’s. If these places fall to the Persians, aka, Shites, the entire Sunni arab world will gladly sacrifice themselves to undo such a sacrilege knowing that the Persians would never be as generous as the Family has been to them.Does this mean that sooner or later the House of Saud will turn on the Jew?Always possible and families have blown up over lesser things. But as it stands now, I really doubt that is a sooner than later outcome here.
More worrysome to me is Iran using Nukes to attempt blackmail of the Saudi’s, as that will require the House of Saud to acquire Nukes from their friends in Pakistan.
After that, It’s Roll the Dice time.Even the Jews can sit it out if that day comes to pass.

  2. BTW, the reason I am certain of these things is because of a saying we have here in America; All politics is Local. Over there, the same rules apply.
    big surprise

  3. Thanks for reminding me about the Saudi nukes.  I think the idea there is either to hedge their bet on Israel against Iran or deal with Israel after the Israelis take out Iran.

Then again, if things break just right, we just might see a lot of peace break out due to a Israel/Saudi axis.  I know it’s crazy and there are about 723 things that could spoil it, but it is within the realm of possibility.

A lot of the news these days is pure disaster.  Just for the Saudis and the Israelis to have a quiet, civilized talk is unprecedented in my lifetime.  They have never talked and the House of Saud has funded millions of Dollars for anti Israel and anti Jewish propaganda and multiple terror campaigns.

That the Israelis and Saudis not only met but negotiated a mutually tolerable agreement of any sort is a miracle.  Remember Osama Bin Laden resented that U.S. troops were present on the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia while those troops were protecting the entire country from an Iraqi invasion.  That there could be any sort of friendly reception for an Israeli Air Force officer and his war plane, in Saudi Arabia, is nearly incredible.

  4. I’ve suspected for quite some time now that the first target Iran would go after with its nukes is NOT Tel Aviv...but rather, Mecca!
