  1. Whaaa-whaaaa-whaaaa! More croc tears from the Saud family.  Poor, misunderstood billionaires/religious fanatics/dictators.

Once we get done in Iraq, we should pull back to Ol’ Saudi and carve out the American Strategic Petroleum Reserve for ourselves and just leave Mecca and the sand fleas for the ropers.

  2. Yeah, Skipper...you gotta wonder if the differences between our two cultures IS irreconcilable.

(Personal story, possibly relevant:  Since these cartoons have made the rounds publicly in the Middle East I have been helping my 6th grade daughter, who I’ll call “Sara”, with a problem.  I have always encouraged “Sara” to be open-minded and tolerant of others.  In fact, we used to joke that she was the most “international, tolerant, and open-minded” person we knew because she had a boyfriend who is Filipino, a best friend who is black, a friend from India - a practicing Hindu, friends from China and Korea, and a good friend from Egypt, who is Muslim.

Recently, the Muslim girl’s parents have forbidden her from speaking to my daughter and the Muslim girl has taken to touting the Muslim line of calling all Westerners as intolerant racists and such.  I thought that “Sara“‘s obvious lack of bias and open magnamity towards all would place her above such scrutiny and intolerance.  Long story short - I was wrong.  Last night, I regretfully had to tell her to no longer associate with the Muslim girl, as the girl has simply continued to perpetuate the hurtful, hypocritical bile that is becoming standard fare for many Muslims living here and in most other Western countries.  I told “Sara” that if the girl wishes to know why she can no longer be friends with her to simply state the following: 1)friendship is never a conditional thing and 2) my God doesn’t care who I am friends with, unlike yours.

Sad, but true.  Thanks for letting me vent...this crap is starting to hit a little too close to home.)

  3. Maybe when the Snotty Retardians quit behaving like neolithic troglodyte neanderthals, (or the aliens in the movie Independence Day)and when they decide that they should join the current, modern version of the human race, then they will be considered and treated accordingly.

Until then, they and their wahhabi islamofascist terrorist murderering associates shall be considered the pariahs that they are.

    Any questions? I didn’t think so… :rulez:

  5. Uhhhh, well, I guess if you act like a barbarian from the 8th century, perhaps that’s the image we’ll have of you!!!

You kill people over stupid/lame cartoons and you wonder why you get no respect.

Pull yourselves up to a civilization approximating the 20th century (yes, I’ll even give you a 100 years), then I’ll change my opinion of you.  Until then, barbarian is as barbarian does!!!

  6. They have adopted so many of the American ways of life.  And that means fast food, cars and education?!?!?!?  wtf

And is that the American way of life according to the Saudis or (more troubling) to the writer of the piece.  I always thought there was something about freedom and equality in there.  Between the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder, maybe?

  7. No point in crying.  The rules of the game have been defined.  Rhetoric and negotiation are no longer viable alternatives to conflict, merely delaying tactics for what is to come.  All that the Islamofascists understand or respect is violence.  We may as well get used to it and behave accordingly.

Side note:  If I’d wanted a President who’d do something as dumb as give control over our ports to a foreign country of dubious trust, I’d have voted for John Kerry.

  8. I give Tita Puopolo credit- i certainly would not do what she is doing, if i were in her shoes.

If i were her...i would “leave the world a better place than i left it” by being involved deeply in lobbying efforts to ensure the U. S is better protected against terrorism, in whatever capacity i could.I just don’t think Puopolo’s *gesture of reconcilliation* will help in that regard.

  9. To realize how totally screwed these people are, imagine them without oil.

  10. I should probably be sent to a reeducation camp for saying it, but where is Ghenghis Khan when we need him?

Ms. Puopolo has my respect. I could never follow her example. I have an Old Testament version of retribution for those who would harm me or my family and friends.

  12. To be fair, the Saudi government have cracked down on Al Quaida. But this was not for our benefit - at least directly. AGT was trying to foment rebellion in the KSA, and the Saud family decided this was not on. So they dug some info out of Prince Turki’s address book and went round and killed them. uzi  This worked fine for a while, for there was a lot of contact between the KSA govt and AQ up to that point. So fair do’s there.

OTOH, the Saudi Wahhabi/Salafist clergy has never stopped supporting them. They are the real problem. Until the MF’s (Moslem Fundies - ahem.) are denounced as antisocial heretics and excommunicated (or what ever the equivalent Moslem term is), the GWOT will continue. This is a war against a church, not a nation. It needs to be fought on philosophical, religious and moral fronts as well. The Western world will need active support from all the world’s other religions, not just the Christian ones, as they are all threatened. I do believe Pope Ben is quietly working on this.

The problem with Iran is separate to this, although there is geographical overlap. This is a dispute with a government - even if it too has an MF brand stamped on it. angry

Other pundits/bloggers have noted the parallels between the GWOT and World War 2 (e.g. Chrenkoff). I’d extend this further, and compare AQ/Sunni to Japan, and Iran/Shia to Germany. The West fought both at the same time, and defeated both. I have tremendous respect for the generation that achieved this. The current generation will need to do the same.

  13. As far as analogies go, it’ll do. The GWOT reminds me more of the Cold War—a war mostly against an ideology/religion, which had conquered several countries & made them our enemies.  Occasionally the Cold War heated up & was fought with real weapons. You had ideological traitors in your midst & ideological friends in ‘enemy’ countries.
