Someone is getting very rich and it is not me. Ohhh, I hate it when that happens.
What’s the number of that senate bill? You know, like “S___” or something. I want to write a letter to my two (Rebublican) senators about this.
One thing about this is that those fees are kinda steep for people who are usually pretty poor. They should raise them to like $50,000!
I’n not going to write that in my letter, though, I just want to tell them not to support it.
Not no not hell no but hell F**king No on this. IF this passes through we might as well surrender to the Mexican goverment and call it a day for the United States.
I cannot describe my disappointment with John McCain. With any luck he will go for a drive with Teddy and we’ll never hear from either one again.
This is Bull Our present immigration policies already cover these requirements. What makes these think that illegals are going to comply with their law when they won’t comply with existing law?
What IS up with McCain? Bi-polar? This guy seems forever swaying on the high-wire just to keep the crowd gasping at his antics. Our token liberal clown in a conservative suit.
This whole ‘new’ idea will create another huge bureaucracy for our government to mishandle. No one will be getting rich off this. This will cost us more than we can even imagine, and just think of what this country will look like in twenty-five years. We’ll all be running to Canada.
McCain needs to switch parties and be done with it.
Why the #$%^ does he think it’s okay to reward those who break the laws to get here?
When lawbreakers are rewarded the law becomes MEANINGLESS!
Oh-and the law needs to be changed so that if somene crosses the border to give birth the chlid no longer gets citizenship.
Wanna come here?
PLAY FAIR BALL!!!
Please designate Senator McCain in all future references as (RINO-AZ). Thank you.
My personal view: considerable legal immigration and considerable effort to prevent illegal. With that in mind, I see little or no merit in my first read of this political kluge.
The AZ Republic praised it. Of course. And did the sun rise today?
There were about 20 points in the summary.
Perhaps 15 depend upon foreign governments, or unlikely cooperation from illegals, or repeat what is law now but not enforced. (Yep, this time we will check up on employers. Boy, will they be sorry now!)
The other points consisted of more rights for illegals and their families.
An item of merit was forgery proof documents. But that is mere boiler plate. Nothing stops us from making todays documents as difficult to forge as we can.
The loophole: illegals, by definition, don’t have the document. If it can be forged they will buy one. If not, they work illegally as before. And when they become legal they work legally - a win, win for them. As long as forged foreign douments can be obtained they are who they say they are.
As usual there is all sorts of blather about why this will work. Why people won’t want to break THIS law. Etc. I honestly don’t see good reasons to believe it.
One problem, OCM. Neither one of those guys is likely to be close enough to that phone to hear it ring and neither one is ever likely to reside there.
Gotta love those reverse lookup search engines.
A.L.T., you are soooo right about that crossing the border/giving birth thing. I think this should be dealt with somehow. Of course I can hear the blood curdling screams Racist! Bigot! already.
Man this McKane kook really should just get it over with and switch parties. He could actually get somewhere in the Dem party, as he’d be pretty moderate, considering who he’d be in with then. They desparately need somebody who’s middle of the road to win an election and they just don’t have anyone now - at least nobody that they’re interested in.
And from Arizona of all places, this guy should know better. I hope he doesn’t get re-elected, but probably will. He’s sucking up to the Hispanic vote in his home state!
