Sounds like you made the most of an Awesome weekend adventure,Bravo.
So what exactly is the valuable Thing you are being paid to Guard?
Inquiring minds want to know.
An ingot of finkillium?
No, I’m just the gate keeper. Sort of. We live in a gated community with no gates; it’s a private road that is sort of open to the public. Problem is, when the highway gets too congested, commuters will try and use our road as a short cut, instead of the public road just behind us. I could never see the advantage, but hey, commuters. What can you say about them? Right, so it’s my job to put out a couple traffic cones and to wave them away if they try to sneak through. The only time it even matters is when dozens or hundreds of them try it at once, which causes a big traffic jam on our one road. So it’s up to me to shoo them away. Today traffic was light, so I didn’t even bother. I just waved. And that was Ok.
Hope you got a Gameboy or some really good books to while away the hours of painstaking boredom that kind of job can instill.
