The age of (I think it is called) ‘awareness’ is between 8 to 10 - it is the age that fantasy and a skewed view of life being all about them (for example, many children under the age of 8 believe that a divorce is their fault if they wished their parent would go away or if they were particularly bad just before the divorce was announced - it’s called magical thinking). By between 8 to 10 children begin to lose that and realize the difference between the real world and their wishes and dreams and fantasies. This judge is an idiot and shows (yes I am a woman here) the dangers of feminizing the law (or the government) and making things about emotions. But I would have to hazard a guess that the color of the perp - or his religion might also have something to do with the light sentence.
And like Ted Cruz in DC last night and today - the law is the law - and to intentionally circumvent it or ignore it - is pure and simply - ILLEGAL.
I wish that the community would rise up against this judge - or maybe do a ‘in broad daylight’ on this dangerous and vile predator who is only going to become more of a threat to society since he walked on a rape charge.
The boys parents should be put down like sick animals, and the boy should be given to the girls father. Justice.
