Joker Posters In Hot Water

 

1. Clermont police have interviewed one suspect who is admitting to putting up the dozens of posters pasted around the city depicting President Obama as the Joker character from the Batman film The Dark Knight, city officials confirmed.

   So? This is illegal? If so, I’ve put up several around my neighborhood. Come arrest me for… what?

4. This is just unbelievable. Yes, I don’t doubt that the Police were entirely justified in grabbing them for doing it on Federal property, and that it would likewise be justified if some of the owners of the property (who were not informed nor consented to the matter) called in to complain. But seriously, would the police have taken it this seriously if this were a Bush picture? I hope the answer is “Yes”, but I have my doubts.

   However, while the placement of individual posters may have made this necessary and the fact that anybody who visits the website of Alex Jones makes me -AT LEAST- suspicious of their character, I still question if this will not be expanded to include more legitimate placements of posters, or if the cleanup will violate legal protections for said posters where they belonged. Not as big of a deal as some make it out to be, but still troubling.

   A local TV station ran a poll about this, and 59% of the locals agreed that use of the posters was a legitimate protest the the health care bill.

   Depends. The posters themselves when used legally? Absolutely. But by placing them on Federal property or in places without consent, it becomes infinitely less justified.

   Depends, where did you place the posters? Did you do so with the consent of those in charge of said property? Did you avoid doing so on Federal or State property, or on property where consent was refused?

   If so, then nothing. If not, well the political content of your poster will be the least of your worries.

5. This is so wrong on so many levels - the main one being that for 8 years we heard, saw and had to put up with the most vile and nasty portrayals of Bush and We as Americans did - because of the 1st Amendment. [And yes, fake grieving Mother Sheehan was arrested for posting a protest flyer on the fence of the WH - imagine what would happen to someone who had the backbone to do that with this poster - He/She would be ‘disappeared’ quickly - and that is what is most scary to me]

   Now that the shoe is on the other foot - the Thug Administration is not amused and many local leos are taking it upon themselves (or are they directed) to root out the evildoers. Who cares who started it - or why - Isn’t it art (and why the blather - Bush’s Joker was in Vanity Fair - this would have been a no-brainer if the Thug had just laughed it off - but apparently he can’t - which gave it notice and a bit more life)?

   Be afraid - very afraid. This is just the beginning and if We The People do not stand up and say not No - but Hell No - it is going to get worse.

   I just might print that little ditty out and post it locally - just to make a point.

   How many RIGHTS are We The People going to let this sham impostor of a Faux Precedent going to take away or at least stifle to the max - before We stand up and say No - this is America and you can’t have my FREEDOM?

6. It never fails with the Left.  They can dish it out by the ton, but they can’t take an ounce.  My respect for Obama is a mirror image of the Lefts respect for Bush.  Yeah, I hate him that much.  It’s sickening, but I won’t be out keying cars and pushing people around.
   I don’t even have a good anti- Obama bumper sticker, but that is about to change. Time for some joker posters to start appearing too me thinks.
