How It’s Done in Florida

  1. I talked to my brother last night, who lives in PCB, and he says this is totally true, and it’s making a noticeable difference there. There was an big influx of illegals after the hurricanes a couple years ago for construction.

  2. Brilliant!  This should be SOP for all the police/sheriff departments across the country.

  3. I would bet that some lawyer wanting to make a name for themselves will try and charge that the Sheriff’s Department with entrapment on this. Indicating because of the “harassment” of the patrol car being near the worksite caused the illeagl alien to run.
They may even go into the theory of racial profiling is being done by the deputies.

Of course the other thing to do here is for the Sheriff to issue citations to the contractors for aiding and abetting, I wonder how that will go over.

Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

  4. Tim C not if the locals stand behind him. We had one major raid here (no surprize, a construction sub-contractor), the local sheriff put up a sign (Illegal Immigrants Here with an arrow pointing to the County Jail) and then the next county sheriff got ‘certified’ under the stupid ICE program (why does a legal law enforcement person need to be ‘certified’ to enforce the laws?!?). And the change around here is amazing.

And that is what the damn idiots in Congress are ignoring. They must have been bought out by lobbyists - as they aren’t listening to the people who vote them into office.

My Senator (Voinovich) was on Hannity’s radio show yesterday, I hang my head in shame. I had blasted off an email after his vote for cloture (Tuesday) and then topped it off with a cut and run from Iraq comment. On the show, he started whinning (just after having to admit he’s not even read this stupid (S1639) bill) - that he won’t be ‘intimidated’ by those people calling and writing him threatening not to vote for him. I sent him an email after he hung up on Hannity - that I was changing my registration to Independent.

What a jerk. These guys are not happy at all that their feet are being held to the fire. And I expect that the next ‘bill’ forced down our throats will be the ‘Fairness’ Doctrine.

Term Limits - we need to stop these guys from making a life of taxing us and padding their off shore bank accounts - it must be done before they destroy America.

If it is not already too late.

  5. Many have pointed out in the past, we do not need an immigration reform bill, we just need total enforcement of existing laws.

Our local sheriff deports them on a regular basis. He believes it is his duty to deport them because as he says, “They are felons”. The problem is the sheriff only has jurisdiction in the unincorporated county areas and if they aren’t caught there he can’t do anything. If the local police or the highway patrol (DPS) don’t make an arrest, then they aren’t taken to the jail and remanded into the sheriff’s custody, so they remain on the street and aren’t deported.

I’m surprised that lawyers in PCB haven’t claimed that the sheriff there isn’t “profiling”, a PC (B**l S**T) no-no, as we all know.

This whole illegal immigration issue just makes my blood boil.

  6. Term limits would help this country ... along with a reshuffle of term lengths.  Six years is far too long for a Senator to serve ... and pay all Federal employees the national median income.

To stem the tide of illegal immigration, we need to not only enforce our existing laws universally but also beef up security along our southern border considerably.  Not just with more guards but with a better physical barrier as well.

  7. Knew a guy who worked for a large plant nusery wholesaler. Once he was in SoCal watching all these guys working in the fields pruning shrubs. INS showed up and a passle of the field hands took off into the woods, the INS guys in hot persuit, but most just kept on working. After they disappeared into the woods, the other guys calmly put down their tools and walked off. Seems the deal was that legals would run as a distraction so the illegals could get away. Clever.

  8. “We immigrants, we are leaving Panama City. People are afraid they will be deported,”

    Adios, motherfucker.

  9. interesting postscript to the failure of the immigration bill.  Amazing what happens when you enforce the laws.  I agree with those that worry that the sheriff will have to deal with ACLU types who will accuse him of profiling and harrassment.

  10. I am proud to be the descendant of immigrants.  On my mother’s side I’m first generation born here.  My forebears came here to be Americans and be part of the American dream.

Now let’s look at this guy.  I’ll contrast him to my Grandfather.

My Grandfather came here in steerage and immigrated legally through Ellis Island (looking up his old records was a real thrill).

Jose Madrid came here illegally through the services of a smuggler.

My Grandfather worked hard to afford tickets to bring my Grandmother and Mother to this country.  While Grandpa came steerage, my Grandmother and Mother came here in a 2nd Class Cabin (I looked up their records too), no steerage for his wife and infant daughter.

Jose Madrid sends money to his wife and daughter to keep them at home.

Grandpa and the rest of his family became U.S. citizens just as soon as they could, 1927 I believe.

Jose Madrid seems to have no interest at all in being a U.S. Citizen.

In short, Jose seems to have no interest in being here, except to take work away from American citizens and legal immigrants, so that he can send money home and I assume return home at a later date.

Jose, when you come here like my Grandfather did, welcome.  I’ll even go a little farther, Even if you and your family sneaked over the border, show me that you really want to be an American and I’ll welcome you.  As it is, I hope you’re caught and sent back to whatever 3rd world hell hole you came from.

  11. ” “We immigrants, we are leaving Panama City. People are afraid they will be deported,” he said. “The companies don’t want to hire illegal people. Now they’re only hiring those with papers.” “

Actually, I find it very interesting that this guy would even take this position. I mean, does anyone think they could go to Mexico (or any other country) and work/live there with that kind of attitude or EXPECTATIONS??

“ To stem the tide of illegal immigration, we need to not only enforce our existing laws universally but also beef up security along our southern border considerably.  “

Actually, no we don’t. We really don’t even need a fence at all (not talking terrorists here). We just need to stop companies from hiring illegals. <u>No job, no money, no food, no stay, go home.<u> It’s as simple as that, and don’t think the gov. doesn’t know that as well.
