  1. Do you ship your delicious sounding soups to the Massachusetts area? Or better still, will you trade for my pasta fagioli?

    LoL, enjoy!

  2. Hmmm, a business proposition? Guess I’ll hold off on a recipe exchange. cheese

  3. It is a vacation peiper. My scheduled three day weekend. So I spend it blogging and coughing up phlegm… what’s not to like?

Maybe a ‘codeine high’ wasn’t the right choice of words. Let me revise it by saying that after taking all four prescribed medications, I’m feeling no pain. Better?

There’s a hellishly nasty bug going around in these parts and doctors are asking patients to stay in and not try to visit doc.

Ahh, the infamous NHS. DO NOT VISIT THE DOCTOR. See what we have to look forward to if Hitlery gets elected.

  4. Christopher, it sounds like a delightful weekend - other than the bronchitis/strep throat part.  I’m a hearty soup afficiando myself and the French onion you mention sounds like just the solution to a cold day.

Another six months and I’ll be eligible to retire.  We’ll see what happens to ruin my plans…

  5. Archie, good food is erotic.

My wife came home and found that husband’s soup was wonderful.

How could I tell? Well, while I was blogging she came in wearing that see-through shift. You know the kind, it covers everything and leaves nothing to the imagination.

  6. I put cheese (Havarti) and cream into my French onion soup and then finish as usual - it is one of my weaknesses (still) since I almost never fry anything, anymore nor do sauces (except tomato) either (my only concessions to the food nazis in my life).

I am a bread lover - make my own and buy too - one local place has a Semolina Loaf and a Peasent Rye that are utter delights.

Most breads and muffins I do make at home though. That is my other concession to the picky people in my house (unbleached white) instead of Whole Wheat flour. Although none have a clue that one of their favorites (a version of the Outback Bread) - is Whole Wheat - shhh we can’t tell them or they’d never eat it again!

I’m gearing up for the ‘flu/cold’ season - I hate getting sick now - it just never seems to be as easy as when I was younger.

    BTW, what is a vacation?
