Now, now, the programs are useful, if you take the right approach. Never forget that thanks to the Feds, any trashed receiver or frame with a serial number counts as a gun.
Over the years, I’ve collected a fair amount of junk. Some of that junk became $100 at a gun buy back.

A gun group in Illinois took in a bunch of rusty old junk and used the buyback money to purchase new rifles and ammo for, I think it was a boy scout group. Often, gun people will set up outside the buyback location with signs offering more than what the buyback does, in cash, for anything good. It’s a shame to see some nice guns go to almost certain doom.
They did that in Seattle a month or so back and stayed on long after the cops spent all the money they had allotted.The local media was embarrassed to say the least.
